Beijing Hotel - where did the steel come from?
« on: February 14, 2009, 10:16:08 pm »
Forgive me if someone has already looked into this, but a friend of mine thought it would be really interesting to look into where the structural steel from the hotel that burned in Beijing came from.  I'm referring to this incident:

Basically, we know that a lot of the structural steel from ground zero in NYC was shipped to China and recycled.  What are the odds that some of that steel wound up in this building?

Now, I know that they wouldn't likely have used any of the actual pieces of the WTC buildings to construct the hotel in Beijing, but it would be really interesting to know if there was any WTC steel mixed in.

Of course, the big question is, how the heck do you go about tracking that down? I haven't the faintest idea how to find out, personally.
