At issue is the capital's 31-year ban on handguns, among the strictest gun-control laws in the nation. In March, a federal appeals court struck down the ban as incompatible with the Second Amendment.

But... but... but... Legalizing Handguns in D.C. Would cause a WAVE of crime!!!

THE RARE 1 in 300,000 victim of violence, is an unfortunate thing, BUT... it is no reason to remove the right to self protection from the whole people... This woman is an emotion driven FOOL who is being urged on by the "anti-gunners"!

It is like a farmer tearing down the fence and door to the hen house, after breaking his shotgun in two, in response a fox making off with a hen... in other words, giving up!

The VT murders accomplished exactly what the globalists wanted and this woman is spouting their talking points, so the shill media will give her all of the air time she wants... This woman is engaged in DUMB THINK!!!!!!!

I just received an urgent alert from the Ron Paul Presidential campaign... It seems that many of us are holding our dollars back in order to donate on the December 16th Ron Paul Tea Party Donation Drive. The only problem with this is, the date is a month away... and much money is needed for ads and expenses NOW!

What follows is the letter I received from Jonathan Bydlak Fund-raising Director of Ron Paul 2008...

*************

"November 20, 2007

During the first few days of October, we announced our fundraising goal for the fourth quarter: $12 million raised by December 31.

But there's more: we need to have spent it by then, too.

If we were to raise the entire $12 million in the last week of December, we would meet our fund-raising goal for the quarter. But Ron Paul would stand little chance of winning the Republican nomination, because that money would have come in too late.

Time is of the essence. You see, we need to raise money well before we plan to spend it. That's because most of the expenditures that we make need to be paid for weeks in advance. For example, we need to buy crucial airtime for the end of December right now.

The sooner we raise this money, the sooner that we can spread Dr. Paul's message - our message - in the early primary states. Time truly is money.

Fact is, we only have about two weeks to raise money for the early primaries.

If you wait a month from now to donate, your money will only be spent after Iowa caucus-goers and New Hampshire primary voters have made up their minds.

We are rapidly running out of time. The Iowa caucus is just 44 days away. New Hampshire is in 49 days. With so much ground to make up, we can't afford to waste a single day.

As a result, we are spending faster than the rate at which we are raising money. In October alone, we raised $2.8 million, but our campaign spent over $3.1 million.

We cannot afford to wait for bursts of press activity. What we need is sustained attention in the news. What better way to do this than by continuing to raise money at a rapid pace now? We need to keep our momentum going.

Help us win in New Hampshire, Iowa, South Carolina, and Nevada.

Make your most generous contribution as soon as you can: https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate.

Jonathan Bydlak
Fundraising Director
Ron Paul 2008"

***************

This is just a thought but what I suggest is that we spread the giving out a bit... Sooo... How about on the 14th anniversary of "Brady-Insta-Check" we all participate in a fund raising protest, against  "Brady-Insta-Check"... and donate 2nd Amendment dollars to Ron Paul.

For the first time since the Brady Bill was challenged on 10th Amendment grounds, but only after the institution of Insta-Check... we find ARMS on trial before the Court once again, only this time, it is the 2nd Amendment itself that is on trial...

Right now, for the first time since the controversial 1939 ruling in US v Miller, the Supreme court is about to rule on the meaning of the Second Amendment...

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

This is in challenge to the controversial Washington D.C. gun ban...

November 30th will be the 14th anniversary of William Jefferson Clinton, signing into law, the Brady/Insta-Check Bill. It mandated a nation wide waiting period on firearms sales, while a background check was performed on the purchaser, as well as placing the arm and the purchaser into a data base... de-facto registration.

My suggestion is that all Gun Owners and Second Amendment Supporters who are also Supporters of Dr. Ron Paul's presidential bid, donate $100 to Ron Paul's campaign in protest of all firearms laws and abridgments of the Second Amendment which infringe on the right of FREE AMERICANS to keep and bear Arms!

November 30th 2007 shall become...

"Gun Owners for Ron Paul... Donation Day"

Here is Ron Paul's take on this whole thing... His position is 100% CORRECT!

http://www.ronpaul2008.com/gunowners/ron-pauls-2nd-amendment-record/

"The choice is clear: Vote Ron Paul for President

Ron Paul's Pro-Gun Legislation

H.R. 1096 (Paul): This bill would (1) repeal the Brady law and Instantcheck Gun Owner registration system; (2) repeal federal provisions discriminating against firearms which the government determines to have no "sporting purpose," and (3) repeal the requirement that trigger locks be purchased by anyone purchasing a handgun from a dealer.

Note: The Brady "Instant Check" is the architecture for federal government registration of firearms and firearm owners as well as the platform for gun rationing schemes.

Repeal of the National Park Gun Ban H.R. 1897 (Paul): This bill would prohibit any federal regulation banning the possession or carrying of a firearm based in whole or in part on the fact that the possession or carrying occurs within a national park."

Here is a 2nd Amendment letter from Dr. Paul... it explains his 2nd Amendment  rationale... and do watch the video...

http://www.ronpaul2008.com/gunowners/... I will be sending Dr. Paul a 2nd Amendment $200 next Friday, Because of all of his work to repeal "Brady". Friday, is the 14th anniversary of it's becoming "law" by the pen of Klinton... November 30th!

Dr Paul needs money now...

There have been arguments on ronpaulforums.com over whether the 15th of December, (the 216th anniversary of the Bill of Rights), should be included in the money drive of December 16th The Ron Paul Tea Party. They are so intent upon reaching the $10 million Tea Party goal at all cost that they have shouted down anyone who raises the idea of another giving date earlier... they have forgotten that Electing Ron Paul IS the goal here.

Alex, just mentioned that the drive is on December 16th and 17th, Sunday and Monday, are the target... yet the weekend is the 15th and 16th... the 17th will be the spill over day.  BY adding the 15th for historical reasons as well as to act as a pre-buffer in case of on line attacks by the enemy, This would be great, and should be considered...... HOWEVER...

Dr. Paul needs money NOW!!!

Come on Second Amendment People !!!!

Authorities are responding to a report of a shooting at Westroads Mall. Initial reports indicate that several people have been injured. We have several crews on the way to the scene.

The incident was reported shortly before 2 p.m. at the Von Maur store in the mall.

Authorities are looking for the gunman.

The mall has been locked down but some people have been able to leave.

There are reports that five people have been shot. There is a report that at least one person was receiving CPR. Another person has been shot in the arm.

Police have converged on the scene. The police helicopter is overhead.

Members of the Emergency Response Unit are on the scene with guns drawn.

Shortly before 2:20, a rescue squad arrived at Creighton University Medical Center from the scene at the Westroads. The patient was receiving CPR.

A second person transported to Creighton is said to be in good condition.

One witness told us she heard approximately 12 gunshots. Other witnesses told us they heard at least that many shots.

"Connie", a Westroads shopper we spoke with on the phone, tells us she heard the shots on the third floor of the mall. She said she hid and waited until the gunfire stopped and then crawled out of the mall.

Report: At Least Five People Shot at Omaha Mall
Wednesday, December 05, 2007

OMAHA, Neb. —  Report: At least five people shot inside Omaha mall.

As many as five people may have been shot at a busy Omaha shopping mall Wednesday afternoon around 2 p.m., and one suspect is in custody.

According to unconfirmed reports, two people are dead and at least four people are being treated at area hospitals for gunshot wounds.

Police put the Westroads Mall, Omaha's largest shopping mall, on lockdown while it searched for the shooter, but it remained unclear if additional suspects remained inside. According to reports, an employee at the Von Maur department store, where the shooting took place, sustained a "self-inflicted" gun wound. A person matching the description of subject was in police custody, but did not appear to be wounded.

One of the victims was reportedly an elderly man found near an escalator inside Von Maur.

One of the victims was reportedly shot in the head.

A woman who answered the phone at an Old Navy store said 20 to 30 customers were huddled with employees in a back storeroom.

"All we know was people were running and screaming down the hallway by Von Maur saying there was a shooting, and then they locked us down," said the woman, who said her name was Heidi.

Keith Fidler, an employee at the Von Maur department store where the shooting is believed to have taken place, said he heard the burst of gunfire, followed by dozens of shots. Fidler said he huddled in the corner of the men's clothing department witht about a dozen other employees until police yelled to get out of the store.

Fidler said he did not see the shooting, but saw a person lying by the elevator as he was leaving the store.

The mall remains on lockdown, though some people were allowed to leave. No one is being allowed to enter.

President Bush was in town Wednesday for a fundraiser in Omaha, but left about an hour before the shooting.

This is a developing story. Refresh this page for updates.

Yes its too bad more people dont carry guns in every day life for this type of situation. If we are armed in a mall or in college and a guy goes nuts and starts killing every one in sight, we would be able to neutralize this person before he goes on a spree while waiting 3 or 4 hours for the cops to move in.

I understand the man was a mentally ill convicted felon.

We need laws against the mentally ill and felons possessing guns, that would solve the problem.

BTW, I understand from a discussion on forums in a local newspaper that Nebraska does have (relatively recent) concealed carry, but that the mall is a declared gun free zone and carrying concealed there would be a felony.

Yes..

Now - just hypothetically.. Let's assume this happened again - but this time, each citizen in the mall was strapped with a .357.

JT,
I just did a google on "HR-2460" and I had to scroll a long ways down to find any mention of gun control! If I grasped what is going on, it looks like the gun control part was added to a bill to halt price gouging.

Why do they allow a rider that has NOTHING to do with the original bill?
This should be outlawed!

I had to google "HR-2460 gun" to get to the correct parts!

JT,
I just did a google on "HR-2460" and I had to scroll a long ways down to find any mention of gun control! If I grasped what is going on, it looks like the gun control part was added to a bill to halt price gouging.

Why do they allow a rider that has NOTHING to do with the original bill?
This should be outlawed!

I had to google "HR-2460 gun" to get to the correct parts!

Jim,

Sorry for the typo... it should be HR-2640.... BUT... as is sometimes the case, serendipity being what it is... what is the bit in HR-2460 and what is the title of the bill...

Maybe others have made the same typo!

If I google "HR-2460" I get some similar to :
Quote
H.R. 2460: Federal Energy Price Protection Act

If I google "HR-2460 gun" I get:
Quote
twincityscarry.com: Block HR 2460 (MH gun ban) in the US Senate
