NPR: Evangelicals to Confront Trump About Porn Star
« on: April 06, 2018, 07:58:16 pm »

Despite claiming the meeting could take place at a June event, no such event appears on the calendar.

According to National Public Radio, a group of evangelical faith leaders have asked for a meeting in June with President Donald Trump to discuss the allegations of sexual infidelity leveled by porn star Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford.

The evangelical leaders in NPR’s report remained anonymous “so as to not jeopardize the meeting.” According to the report, faith leaders are “very concerned” about the allegations of a nearly 12-year-old affair.

The report states:

“The ministry leader said Trump's tone and personal life remain a concern for many evangelicals.

“‘There's things that are like fingernails on the chalkboard to people of faith. That's not who we are; that's not a “fruit of the Spirit”; that's not leading with humility,’ the source said, referencing a passage in the New Testament book of Galatians that describes the character traits Christians exhibit.”

The president has repeatedly denied the porn star’s allegations. The meeting to discuss the alleged scandal is purportedly planned to take place on the sidelines of a larger event scheduled for June 19 at Trump International Hotel, yet no event of that magnitude—which usually takes months to prepare—appears on any schedule.

The remainder of the NPR report suggested evangelical voters are disappointed despite the fact the president followed through on his campaign promises. It also discusses evangelical leaders’ concerns that Democrats will win a “wave election” in November.

This is the problem I have with CHURCHES.

People don't forgive and never forget. If there is ever a public confession of some past transgression, then church people will whip out their little notebooks and make damn sure to remind you about it until you are in the grave.

I believe the public could care less about a 12-year-old affair. The stupid Billy Bush tape was an obvious attempt to sandbag the candidate back then. And Trump handled it brilliantly.

They put Trump there to do a job. And, so far, he's done a lot more than any of the other 2016 choices would have done. All eyes are still on this guy. Both conservative and liberal. Sipping a water bottle with 2 hands results in a week of news saturation.

The people that voted for him in 2016 sent him a message around December: “Break your promises at your own peril.” That has not changed. These same evangelicals were saying back then that Trump was no savior, but he was an ally. And now they're “concerned”?

Edit: Just noticed this came from NPR. That explains a lot.

I agree, forgive and forget. He is not a better person than any one of us.

If Trump is guilty of any wrongdoing, he might want to give a public apology to allow the less forgiving to reconsider.

Have you noticed recently how public apologies fly? They're never accepted. And once a political enemy gets you to admit anything negative, there's blood in the water and the teeth and claws go for the death grip.  Feigned outrage and calls for impeachment is what will happen along with 24/7 news coverage and demands for an investigation. Kinda like what we've been seeing since the election already. Except they haven't been able to get a solid foothold yet. Not for lack of trying though. They....probe....daily.

Mueller is there partially to keep the snowflakes calm.

What we have yet to see is magnitudes worse than the cocaine-dilated Stormy accusation. Her “business” is booming since she started this, BTW.

If the full extent of high level abuse and pedophilia among the career guys in DC were exposed, it would take down 2/3 of the sitting Congress. A de-facto collapse. So far, the public KNOWS there was something up with the Podesta/pizzagate thing. But they are also satisfied by the reports of low-level round-ups and arrests so far.

Sorry, but I don't trust NPR any more than CNN!

I think Evangelicals are smarter than NPR gives them credit. They helped Trump get elected despite the things they already knew about his past.

NPR funding should end. They have nothing to offer to the American people.

He's also had a ton of hands-on prayer from these guys.

Either that means something, or it doesn't.

Then there's the pastor Begley story about spiritually cleansing the White House, which snopes and other fact-checking sites are calling outrageous. If true, then the Trump family is not ignorant of spiritual influence on people.

Ya, NPR sux.

Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole ; He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. - Job 5
