Say What? Official Tax Scoring Committee Claims Killing Individual Mandate is a Tax Hike (You can be sure this lie is from a Dem on the JCT who cant stand Obamacare being dismantled. Stop lying, Dems. However, Toomey and Paul correct the record.)

Quote
Senator Pat Toomey (R-Penn) released a report from the JCT Thursday showing the effect of the Senate bill excluding this nonsensical approach to the individual mandate. Sure enough, it projects tax cuts for every income bracket.

We Win! Taxes Cut for All! Senate Tax Cut Bills  Passed last night 51-49

Now that the Senate passed their version of the tax reform legislation, the House and Senate will have to convene a conference committee to reconcile the differences between the two bills. Once the two chambers of Congress draft a unified bill, the House and Senate will have to pass the same bill to send the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act to President Donald Trump’s desk to sign the bill into law.

Statement from the Press Secretary on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act

President Donald J. Trump applauds the Senate for passing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.  The Senators who voted for these historic tax cuts did a great service to their constituents as they supported putting America first, growing the economy, and rebuilding our great country.  The policies in this bill will cut taxes for hardworking families and put our economy on a path of sustainable economic prosperity and job creation.  We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reclaim America’s great destiny. The Administration looks forward to working with Congress to fulfill the promise we made to deliver historic tax cuts for the American people by the end of the year.

Dr. Rand Paul Applauds Senate Passage of Tax Cuts, Calls for Further Action
https://www.paul.senate.gov/news/dr-rand-paul-applauds-senate-passage-tax-cuts-calls-further-action

Quote
Early Saturday morning, U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) released the following statement after voting for H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act:

“As we took on tax reform, I worked directly with President Donald Trump and spoke out in Congress to make sure we kept our promises to the American people, secured a tax cut for more families, and repealed the Obamacare individual mandate.

“While I still would have preferred larger cuts, this bill provides a foundation on which to continue building. Today marks a victory for giving the American people back more of their own money and reforming an archaic tax code.”

Rand is a smart guy and one Senator you can trust, thus his opinion counts!

TAX BILL WIN: GOP REPEALS OBAMACARE MANDATE - Marks the beginning of the end for Obamacare

https://www.infowars.com/tax-bill-win-gop-repeals-obamacare-mandate/

Quote
Families ought to be able to make decisions about what they want to buy and what works for them — not the government,” Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) said, hailing the accomplishment.

“I believe if people don’t want to buy the ObamaCare insurance, they shouldn’t have to pay a tax penalty to the IRS.”

The Senate tax bill must still be reconciled with House legislation that does not include the mandate’s repeal. But that is unlikely to be a major issue, given support in the GOP conference for repealing the mandate.

did they  end the state tax deduction ?  a dem controlled state hit

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/12/01/tax-reform-could-hit-certain-high-tax-states-harder-than-others.html
Tax reform could hit certain states harder than others

Residents of states like California, Connecticut, New Jersey and New York could face a bigger tax bill with proposed changes to state and local tax and mortgage deductions.
Effects of the changes will vary depending on a family's size, income and which deductions they are still eligible to take.

Proposed changes to state and local tax and mortgage deductions could be especially damaging to those residents. State and local taxes (also known as SALT) include state sales tax, property and real estate taxes. Individuals can currently deduct those taxes as an itemized deduction.
...

An amendment to allow the deduction of up to $10,000 in state and local property taxes will now be included in the Senate tax bill, Senator Susan Collins, R-Maine, tweeted on Friday.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., speaks during a news conference in Dirksen Building on the importance of passing the tax reform bill for small businesses on November 30, 2017.
Richard LeFrak: It's interesting a lot of 'loophole closings' occur in 'blue states'
20 Hours Ago | 02:34

Residents of states with higher tax rates — like California, Connecticut, New Jersey and New York — might be facing bigger tax bills if the Republicans' tax reform passes.

The tax reform legislation also proposes changes to the mortgage interest deduction. Currently, individuals can deduct up to $1 million in mortgage debt.
...
The House tax reform plan proposes capping the deduction at $500,000 in mortgage debt for newly purchased homes. But a deduction of up to $1 million in mortgage debt would be maintained for current homeowners.
...
"The bottom line is for families in these particular states that have not only higher state tax rates and higher state income taxes and real property taxes, the loss of deductions will impact them much more than families in states with lower state income taxes and real property taxes," Raulston said.

...

"The fear of a mass exodus from these states is probably a little overstated," Steffen said. "Maybe over a longer period of time there would be more impact, but it shouldn't be immediate."
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole ; He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. - Job 5

Senate changed a few things that was against their rules, and sent back to House to approve. The House is voting first on the changes. They just accepted the changes.

The  final vote on Tax Reform will follow shortly. After this vote, the bill goes to President Trumps signature!

House approved tax reform. IT IS DONE!

If the left keeps up its childish and un-American behavior, they will continue to lose support. The good news is that some Democrats are wising up and supporting President Trump. They are sick of the non leader babies in the Democrat party. Remember, not one Democrat voted to give you a tax break or a real job. THAT WILL BACKFIRE ON DEMOCRATS IN THE 2018 ELECTION.

Statement on Final Passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act

https://taxfoundation.org/statement-final-passage-tax-cuts-jobs-act/

Quote
Congress today took a historic step toward rewriting the U.S. tax code for the first time since 1986. Our Taxes and Growth model shows that this legislation over the next decade will boost GDP by 1.7 percent and wages by 1.5 percent, while creating 339,000 additional jobs.

What a day to celebrate.  What a day.  hahahaa

It seems the Johnson Amendment remained intact with Trump's Tax Reform.  Is this true?

A historic day that happened in the first year of a REAL PRESIDENT!

Johnson Amendment

Republicans had wanted to use the tax bill to eliminate a 1954 law restricting the political activities of churches and other nonprofits. But in a victory for Democrats, the Senate parliamentarian ruled that the provision violated the chamber’s budget rules because it didn’t involve taxes or spending, so Republicans took it out.

Democrats had threatened to challenge any changes to the Johnson Amendment as a violation of the Byrd rule, and the language didn’t end up in the Senate version, and ultimately didn’t end up in the final tax overhaul bill. But, as Vox’s Tara Isabella Burton and Alissa Wilkinson note, the Johnson Amendment is rarely enforced, and “its removal from the tax bill seems to be a symbolic, rather than practical, victory for Democrats.”

Thank you, Jo.

Still, it is so confusing to me.  For one thing, I like separation of Church & State on the idea that the State cannot involve itself with religion.  Not necessarily vice-versa.  Keeping the State out of religious affairs = religious freedom.  Religious freedom is what this Country was founded on.

From below -- Republicans wanted to eliminate the Johnson Amendment.  This amendment restricted 501(c)3 churches from endorsing or opposing political candidates.  Clearly, the State is involved in dictating what churches can and cannot do (on political voting no less) with the Johnson Amendment intact.  So, to me, removal of the Johnson Amendment is a good thing.

This needs watching, in my opinion.  Johnson Amendment is more "politically correct" weirdness.   In short, if the Democrats are so hot on it keeping it, we had better watch out.

The Democrats were feeling so impotent in this bill that they were grabbing at anything they could to remove it from the bill. The Johnson amendment was a technical casualty.

There will be other chances to get it in another bill, probably in the future.

Another solution would be to get rid of 501c3, then the Johnson Amendment would be mute. Churches need to wise up on this issue. They are silencing themselves by being a 501c3. The smarter churches have rejected this designation. They get it!

While the House tax bill had contained a provision scrapping the amendment, the Senate bill had not. Ultimately, Senate Democrats were able to remove the provision from the final bill by citing the “Byrd Rule,” a 1974 provision that allows senators to block legislation during the reconciliation process of negotiations on budgetary matters between House and Senate if that legislation contains material deemed to be “extraneous” to the financial substance of the bill.

Look at how shamefully Democrats are acting since this vote! Its a wonder they have any voters.

Since they are losing their smarter voters, they desperately cultivate illegals and tell them to vote illegally, and sign up felons. This in addition to cheating is the only way Democrats can win anymore. Shameful!

I am just glad many Democrats smartened up, switched and voted for Trump. The Democrat party is in serious trouble, and they keep digging their hole deeper with every lie they tell their constituents. We see their lies and are not impressed!

Watch them implode! They have no leadership! Only a totally uninformed fool would vote Democrat these days. The party has gone insane! All they have are mindless followers. Shameful the Democrat party has become so irresponsible. Very sad!

Democrats Complain About $1.5 Trillion Estimated Cost of Tax Bill But President Trump Already Nearly Pays It Off

Democrats don’t care about the amount of US debt.  They never have.  They are only saying this now about the President’s tax plan because it is politically advantageous to do so.  They really don’t care and there is empirical evidence to support this.

Under President Obama the US Debt nearly doubled in size from $10.6 trillion to nearly $20 trillion over eight years.  But as the debt mushroomed by nearly $10 trillion we never heard a word from Democrats about the massive debt increase and the resulting burden on Americans.  Now as President Trump and Congress move forward with the tax cut bill, giving Americans back more of their hard earned money, the Democrats are screaming.

Since the Democrats have no leaders, they resort to childish behavior and lies. I dont see why anyone would vote Democrat these days, as they are losers!   ::)

Most people don't vote Democrat; but the Democrat have an ingrained system to cheat!
We need to stop them, Roy Moore won the election yet no one is doing anything about the cheating.
What do you under-stand?
