They say fracking can make Europe less dependent on Russian gas. Is this what we actually should fear at the moment? TRhis dependence I mean. Perhaps we should fear the irresponsibility of the USA.
Americans didn't bother to make that stir in Ukraine which makes it highly risky to rely fully on Russian gas transited through Ukraine.
Now, Americans are supplying their shale gas into Europe (which is not enough to satisfy our needs....) and they are still set to start shale gas extraction in EU countries by that notoriously known fracking method, ruining ecology (watch "Gasland 2", a film made by Josh Fox)!
On top of that, experts say that production costs in the EU will be 150-200% higher than in the USA!
I think, we'd rather solve Ukrainian issue a.s.a.p. to make Russian supplies secure and drop that idea of digging wells for shale gas in here!

The energy markets are one reason for the tensions. The weapons markets are another. NATO countries in Europe will be first to suffe r in wwIII.
