RIP Jack Tramiel
« on: April 10, 2012, 06:14:28 am »
Jack Tramiel passed away on Sunday at the age of 83. He survived the Holocaust and emigrated to the U.S. and founded a little typewriter company which would go on to create the best-selling computer of all time, the Commodore 64. He would later be ousted from his own company, only to buy Atari's struggling consumer electronics division and run Atari Corporation from 1984 to 1996 when mismanagement on his son Sam's behalf caused it to be closed down and enter into a reverse merger with a hard disk drive manufacturer.
