Spiegel TV: "Kill Team" Documentary 1/2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DcCmayJf_Yc&feature=player_embedded

For months, the US Army kept the images compiled by the so-called "kill team" under lock and key out of fear it could result in a scandal even greater than Abu Ghraib. SPIEGEL TV spent weeks researching the story behind the men of 5th Stryker Brigade and how things could go so terribly wrong. Warning: The documentary contains extremely graphic content.

When Justin Stoner returned to Forward Operating Base Ramrod, hoping to settle into his room and get some rest, he could recognize the smell right away: hashish. Time and time again, he had asked his roommate in this remote outpost in Afghanistan not to do drugs, at least not in their room.

But this time Stoner had had enough. As he filed the complaint with his superior, he knew it would result in serious trouble. When, almost as an aside, he mentioned that his pot-smoking comrades would take revenge, and that they were capable and guilty of much more than smoking hashish, he set in motion an investigation that would lead to what would become the US Army's next Abu Ghraib.

Weeks later, the Army arrested 12 men, some of whom would speak openly to investigators about their so-called " kill team," an inner circle of soldiers belonging to the 5th Stryker Brigade out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord in the state of Washington. Their alleged leader, Staff Sergeant Calvin Gibbs, is supposed to have instigated the murder of innocent civilians and to have collected fingers he cut off of the hands of dead Afghans as trophies.

As horrifying as it is, the Army was almost more worried about something else: The men of FOB Ramrod had been documenting their exploits and had taken thousands of pictures, including many of dead Afghans, as well as videos of legitimate but highly graphic engagements. Most troubling was the fact that they had posed with the dead, smiling and holding up their heads like hunters proud of their "kill."

For months, the US Army has kept these troubling documents under lock and key. SPIEGEL TV's Karin Assmann spent weeks alongside her colleagues from SPIEGEL magazine researching the story behind the men of the 5th Stryker Brigade, exploring why they had gone so horribly off course. In her film, Assmann documents the young soldiers' transformation. She speaks with family members and tells the mens' stories with the help of their video-taped interrogations and the use of hundreds of pages of internal files. Assmann reconstructs two of the three alleged murders using the very photos that the US Army has tried to suppress.

You can now view Assmann's documentary, in its entirety, on SPIEGEL ONLINE International. Warning: The video contains extremely graphic content.

From the Speigel video: This guy, Gibbs, tried to avoid having his picture taken by the reporter who travelled with the 'kill team'. He sat apart from the rest but got captured in this video.

Who is Staff Sgt. Calvin Gibbs?

Staff Sgt. Calvin Gibbs

Age: 25.
Hometown: Billings, Mont.
Military background: Joined Army in 2002 and had early assignments at Hawaii and Fort Drum, N.Y.
Background at Joint Base Lewis-McChord: Stationed here in January 2008.

Deployments: Iraq, January 2004 to January 2005;
Afghanistan, January 2006 to May 2007;
(No mention of his location in 2008)
Afghanistan, July 2009 to June 2010.

"No one seemed more pleased by the kill than Staff Sgt. Calvin Gibbs, the platoon's popular and hard-charging squad leader. "It was like another day at the office for him," one soldier recalls. Gibbs started "messing around with the kid," moving his arms and mouth and "acting like the kid was talking." Then, using a pair of razor-sharp medic's shears, he reportedly sliced off the dead boy's pinky finger and gave it to Holmes, as a trophy for killing his first Afghan."

Hearing Tuesday for squad leader accused in Afghan killings
http://www.thenewstribune.com/2010/11/06/1413641/hearing-tuesday-for-squad-leader.html#ixzz1INsAriB2
Staff Sgt. Calvin Gibbs’ big talk about killing Afghan civilians and getting away with it made him stand out when he joined a new platoon at an Army base in southern Afghanistan a year ago, according to written statements from his comrades.
And  the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren,  ye have done it unto me.

HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS IS HAPPENING?  Have you ever been in the military?  Some of you people play this cyber crap.  I have been there.  NEVER, EVER WERE WE TOLD IT WAS OK TO KILL INNOCENT WOMEN AND CHILDREN.

You and your military buddies are just bodies - lackeys which follow the marching orders of a Max Boot - or any other CFR high military legget. Sure, they (the military) pretend to 'uphold the rule of law' - just like any common thug pretends to govern himself by a moral code. Hell, the Samurai followed the Bushido code - the Mafia follow their own moral code - any organization (be it criminal or so-called 'legal') has its own code of conduct. That doesn't mean they necessarily have to believe in that bullshit though - or rather, let's just say that they are able and willing to look the other way when it comes to the 'spoils of war'.

You know what the spoils of war is buddy? Rape, killing, murder, plundering, making people your slaves - those are the spoils of war. It's as old as the way to Rome. They did it back in those days too. Your GIs in Afghanistan/Iraq are doing it too.

This is commonly understood - any historian or anthropologist who isn't a flat-out revisionist or wants to tell the children little feel-good stories will tell you this is how history has shaped the world - the military of other nations go in, they conquer and subjugate other nations, make them their own, rape their women, kill some of their civilians for sport, and that's how it goes on. That is what is understood by the 'spoils of war'.

Foreign dominant military brutes like the ones depicted above raping women in foreign countries is how 'races' came to be in the first place - that is firmly established by the scientist who coined the Triple Helix, Richard C. Lewinton. He can tell you all about it in his talks at prestigious universities. Note - this is one of the most prestigious evolutionary biologists out there, yet even he won't discount 'RACE'. Races came about by foreign militaries conquering other nations and raping their women - that's what he will tell the educated college types - while the gutter types can talk about 'racism' and metaphysical conceptions of 'evolutionary processes' magically leading to people with brown skin, yellow skin and so on.

But of course, oh your dearie good US military - nah, they won't do any of that. Rape, murder, medical experimentation on their own troops, nah, not any of that. Because we all know to what high regard the Constitution is held these days in the US - and we all know Obama sings himself to sleep with it every day. Because we all know that not dozens of stories have been leaked ever since Desert Storm that show the extreme medical injustices imposed on the average American troop.

Dude, seriously - it's time you stop kidding yourself, wake up and smell the coffee, and get over your infantile worship of the US military - or any military on this Earth for that matter - I won't even single out the US since they just have happened to be in the dominant position for the past 50 years. It [the military] is a pretty goddamn bankrupt institution - and you should be ashamed of it rather than be proud of it.

Kthnx - brb giving me your Tea Party-esque faux-moral outrage at me speaking the plain truth and breaking it down to you. Hero and cult worship can come in many ways - for some, it's slavishly following a shock jock - for others, it's slavishly following a predator class hive that gives their members shiny badges and medals.

You better wake up buddy. I do not believe that the military is completely f-d, but to deny that the US military is under attack by globalist pigs is to deny reality. And the main reason I am saying this is because I am disappointed in what the military has become and there cannot be any great disappointment where there is no great love. The constitutional US military is without question the true defender of liberty. It has been under attack by Eurocrat bankers since before WWI. General Smedley Butler, the most decorated officer at the time exposed this in the book "War is a Racket". Since WWI, there has been a systematic operation to remove the consciousness and morality from the US soldier. Much of these operations are exposed in Adam Curtis' documentary series called "Century of the Self". But since Vietnam, there has been an acceleration of Eurocratic bankster control over US Military men and women.

Here are a few things to consider:

In Vetnam, there were less than 14% contractors. Now there are over 50% and they get paid 3-10x as much as the US soldier.

The US military is used by globalist corporations for vaccine studies to test drugs that remove emotions (and also make them crazy...see the movie Jacob's Ladder).

The US Military is currently under attack by the Revolution of Military Affairs which is a revolution against the constitution, freedom, and justice. It is a communist program first started in the Soviet Union and the agenda is to remove any individual power to the soldier. The narratives will rule, not reality. Kevin Tillman has exposed this after what the top generals of the US Military did to his brother.  Squarepusher and AI have been exposing the more documented details in this forum as well as elsewhere.

The average US soldier is given one week of training, usually comes from a poor rural community (the New World Order wants to end all rural human habitation), and is thrown into a pit of hell in the Middle East. Some soldiers can cope and maintain a level sense of reality, some become paralyzed with shell shock (renamed Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), some become emotionless and immune to morality or humanity (NOTE: The movie "Valley of Ellah" humanizes this dehumanization process going on in these Middle East genocides, please watch it). Those that become immune to crimes against humanity are recruited by top brass for KILL TEAMS and DEATH SQUADS. This has been going on since Korea at least. Korea was the first war for profit with no real agenda to win.

And lastly concerning your comment about cyber crap...

THE HIGHEST RANKING MILITARY MAN FOR 2001 = 2006 WAS DONALD RUMSFELD. DONALD RUMSFELD WAS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER FOR THE RAND CORPORATION NOT ONCE BUT TWICE FOR MULTIPLE YEARS. RAND CORPORATION'S ENTIRE EXISTANCE IS DUE TO "CYBER CRAP".

I did go back. This is what Satyagraha stated:

Remember - guys sitting behind desks back in the Pentagon, at RAND corp., CSIS and the rest of the MIC goons are promoting the attitude that is filtered down to the troops.

Which exposed the fact that the military soldier is being nudged toward a dehumanizing state. Instead of researching yourself, you started attacking the messenger with the following:

HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS IS HAPPENING?  Have you ever been in the military?  Some of you people play this cyber crap.  I have been there.  NEVER, EVER WERE WE TOLD IT WAS OK TO KILL INNOCENT WOMEN AND CHILDREN.

The response was bizzaro to say the least as everything has been thoroughly documented. It prompted replies that were casted off as unsourced and therefore "crap":

 No references.  More Cyber crap.

So now that you are given thorough references, you are saying that all of the responses to your post are true, but that you were not questioning the psychological attacks on US soldiers, you were simply pointing out that you personally were not told to go kill innocent people. I understand, but other people were psychologically guided to kill innocents. Tens of thousands in the past 8 years at least have been guided this way.

It is part of the Revolution in Military Affairs and if you care to actually look into it, it may assist the general public in waking up to this wholesale act of treason against the US military and the entire country.

The Revolution in Military Affairs is a communist program where the goal is to eliminate the entire defense forces so that theglobalists can just come in and blitzkrieg the entire defenseless country with Effects Based Operation, Asymmetric Warfare, and "SMART GENOCIDE".

After Pat’s Birthday

http://www.veteransforamerica.org/page/weblog/subpage/display_blog/bid/667C14D6-123F-747A-1B6A7A92CD67580A
Oct 19, 2006 By Kevin Tillman

Editor’s note: Kevin Tillman joined the Army with his brother Pat in 2002, and they served together in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Pat was killed in Afghanistan on April 22, 2004. Kevin, who was discharged in 2005, has written a powerful, must-read document.

It is Pat’s birthday on November 6, and elections are the day after.  It gets me thinking about a conversation I had with Pat before we joined the military.  He spoke about the risks with signing the papers.  How once we committed, we were at the mercy of the American leadership and the American people.  How we could be thrown in a direction not of our volition.  How fighting as a soldier would leave us without a voice… until we get out.

Much has happened since we handed over our voice:

Somehow we were sent to invade a nation because it was a direct threat to the American people, or to the world, or harbored terrorists, or was involved in the September 11 attacks, or received weapons-grade uranium from Niger, or had mobile weapons labs, or WMD, or had a need to be liberated, or we needed to establish a democracy, or stop an insurgency, or stop a civil war we created that can’t be called a civil war even though it is.  Something like that.

Somehow America has become a country that projects everything that it is not and condemns everything that it is.

Somehow our elected leaders were subverting international law and humanity by setting up secret prisons around the world, secretly kidnapping people, secretly holding them indefinitely, secretly not charging them with anything, secretly torturing them.  Somehow that overt policy of torture became the fault of a few “bad apples” in the military.

Somehow back at home, support for the soldiers meant having a five-year-old kindergartener scribble a picture with crayons and send it overseas, or slapping stickers on cars, or lobbying Congress for an extra pad in a helmet.  It’s interesting that a soldier on his third or fourth tour should care about a drawing from a five-year-old; or a faded sticker on a car as his friends die around him; or an extra pad in a helmet, as if it will protect him when an IED throws his vehicle 50 feet into the air as his body comes apart and his skin melts to the seat.

Somehow the more soldiers that die, the more legitimate the illegal invasion becomes.

Somehow American leadership, whose only credit is lying to its people and illegally invading a nation, has been allowed to steal the courage, virtue and honor of its soldiers on the ground.

Somehow those afraid to fight an illegal invasion decades ago are allowed to send soldiers to die for an illegal invasion they started.

Somehow faking character, virtue and strength is tolerated.

Somehow profiting from tragedy and horror is tolerated.

Somehow the death of tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of people is tolerated.

Somehow subversion of the Bill of Rights and The Constitution is tolerated.

Somehow suspension of Habeas Corpus is supposed to keep this country safe.

Somehow torture is tolerated.

Somehow lying is tolerated.

Somehow reason is being discarded for faith, dogma, and nonsense.

Somehow American leadership managed to create a more dangerous world.

Somehow a narrative is more important than reality.

Somehow America has become a country that projects everything that it is not and condemns everything that it is.

Somehow the most reasonable, trusted and respected country in the world has become one of the most irrational, belligerent, feared, and distrusted countries in the world.

Somehow being politically informed, diligent, and skeptical has been replaced by apathy through active ignorance.

Somehow the same incompetent, narcissistic, virtueless, vacuous, malicious criminals are still in charge of this country.

Somehow this is tolerated.

Somehow nobody is accountable for this.

In a democracy, the policy of the leaders is the policy of the people.  So don’t be shocked when our grandkids bury much of this generation as traitors to the nation, to the world and to humanity.  Most likely, they will come to know that “somehow” was nurtured by fear, insecurity and indifference, leaving the country vulnerable to unchecked, unchallenged parasites.

Luckily this country is still a democracy.  People still have a voice.  People still can take action.  It can start after Pat’s birthday.

Brother and Friend of Pat Tillman,

Kevin Tillman

Very good, this subject hits home for all of us.
One point before I get into this, Gibbs was off the map in 2008, that says it all, 201 files don't just walk away, I smell intel or Agency. Just my opinion.
In the late 60's, my first few weeks in Nam, I was assigned to a sniper team(Tay Ninh). Only 3 men. One was a Sergeant who had killed his wife and her lover, this poor slob came home expectantly and found them, lost his head and shot them, multiple homicides, A Jamaican , professional hitter who was imprisoned-murder. The third, I have no idea, he was a very quiet guy. Each was released from prison, records erased to serve for 4 years consecutive, sniping. I thought I had stepped into the outer limits, well folks I did, the war in Nam was insanity.
No, I din’t stay with this unit, I requested a transfer with a defensive unit , it was granted.
11th. Armored Cav under the command of Col Patton, and yes his father was General Patton. He would fly over the troops in his LOH with his bull horn calling his troops to battle, making a point that he wanted to see arms and legs flying, body counts the high priority.
The phoenix program, profiling and sorting out those who were capable of assassinations.
I'm going back a while I know it, Colby, Westmoreland, the lot of them,  instigated these actions.
At the very least, on a positive note, not all of the troops were kill crazy, in fact only a small percent.  Rest assured the superiors were well aware of who they could call upon.
I have to rant on this, sorry folks. In civilian society we will find sociopaths, murderers, sold out wakos. The same is true with the military, what are the boundaries. Is there a comparison to be made here between the Mafia hitters and the  military ones…A mafia boss or  Mil Intel & the agency-Don’t assume the superiors are not aware of their troopers mental state.
We need a defensive military, after all the world is not a bed of roses. Problem is it’s not a defensive unit, it is controlled by pols and they are controlled,,  puppets for the elites. In all honesty  if the military was defensive, protecting this nation and people, I  most likely would have stayed in. The truth as we all know , it is not.
Nam was a money maker for the money grubbing parasites, the same as our current wars.
The focus of this post is the kill teams, I understand that, and I hope I haven’t gone off the map here.  I’m an old bag of bones, forgive me for getting off track at time. But when I think about these kids enlisting with no concept whatsoever of what war truly is, gets me sick.
The feeders who orchestrate these wars are very aware of what happens to the troops, how to control them, use them, brain dip, and intimidate. The military is voluntary, what’s that tell you, the variations of enlisted men are parceled. The poor, the blind patriotic young raised in a right wing home,  simply put in one form or another the ignorant and naive.
Hell, I’m not defending these guys, they need to be in chains, but so do their superiors, and the souless sacks of Shiite that orchestrated this abomination. These kill teams are in our faces, true evil exposed. Compare this to the grid bombing of Iraq!! Hundreds of thousand killed, the better part civilians, what do you come up with, fact-no imagery? The realism exposed, the imagery that found its way to the public make a everlasting impression, revolting, horror. Sure it does.
So too does grid bombing, no discrimination is involved, men, woman, children, infants, and any other life form.. The results of this were not open to the evaluation of the public, no imagery that I know of showing the true effects.
Nam, a vill had been bombed, a young father walked in my direction holding the blood soaked rags and limbs of his daughters  to his chest, his mouth was open but no sound came forward. It haunts me to this day.
I’m all over the place on this post,  point, we see the imagery of the evil, the troopers on a kill spree, why not the civilians killed in Iraq, there were all kinds of bodies,!!  The IMAGERY would have made bad press, woke some folks up perhaps.
I better shut the hell up, excuse my rant.

There are good soldiers, trying to make a better world,
who play 'by the rules' and act as 'morally' as possible
while blowing people to bits. My Dad and my Uncles
and my Father-in-Law were such soldiers in WWII I do
firmly believe ... but those old timers came home very
ashamed of themselves, with the fire of youth and the
fresh twinkle gone forever from their eyes ... in many ways
they were all shell-shocked and demoralized if you ask me ...
and they were very reluctant to speak of their experiences.
I believe, deep down, they knew intuitively that they had been
used and used up, as cannon fodder in the 'great game' ...
they knew, perhaps without verbalizing it, that the
'Great War' was like all the rest ... murder and mayhem in
the service of profit, de-population and monarchical hegemony.

Here is one of the best threads here on this subject ... in my opinion:

Combat changes men, I came home a stranger to myself and to my loved ones, the collateral damage, and wars hack at the human body, the mind and the soul. Holly, I finished reading the topic you posted Prison planet forum.134731.0. The tears flowed...My grandkids call me old and sentimental, perhaps they are correct, or it could be I have been exposed to experiences that I pray they never bear witness to. They asked me about the war, how I survived, I don't give them war stories, I tell them the lord was watching over me, (he was).
When returning home my battle was attempting to hide my pain, how in the name of the God Almighty can a guy make it home alive and expose this pain to his loved ones, the  soul wrenching inner horror to those who have no concept of the difference between war and sheltered in peace.
Please correct me if I am off base. The MSM during the Vietnam war were involved, due to this fact I believe the regime banned imagery-photos-in depth reports of the genocide in Iraq-for one example.  I compare the orchestrators of war for profits far above the scale of the cannibal Doctor Lector in that film, silence of the lambs.  In fact they make this guy look like an amateur lunatic. These subhuman elitists would eat human fetus at their gatherings  if to insure their profits and power.
The kill teams: I am with hope that the citizenry understand all soldiers are not of this mindset, but, those who send Americas sons to do battle, those who genocide the innocent, who perpetuate evil, who use humanity as their feeding grounds, are on a scale of evil far beyond these men who have stepped over the line and lost their minds and souls.
Far too many naive and ignorant youngsters, good kids-good men-are stuck in the boots. Good Men, I am with hope they are not labeled as we were in Vietnam, I pray the conscience of this nation is awakened to the fact they are but fodder for the elites machine, the true evil is the instigators, the deceivers on high.
Isn’t it time Americans focused on the true EVIL..

The Censored War and You

April 05, 2011

When I was a small girl, my favorite book in my grandfather’s study was the 1973 edition of The Best of LIFE, and looking back now, I’d say it scarred me—for life.

Most people have seen the horrifying images of the pre-pubescent Vietnamese girl running, naked and hysterical, away from her napalm Armageddon. Ubiquitous, too, is the “suspected Viet Cong terrorist” with a gun to his head, seconds before his execution in the streets of Saigon. There is the baby sprawled face down on the pile of dead My Lai victims in the ditch—a massacre that might have been hidden forever if this and other photos were never published. Then I would see the inconsolable Vietnamese woman, leaning over what we’re told are the remains of her husband tied up tight in a garbage bag. How could he fit in there, I remember thinking, as I turned to these gruesome images, over and over with a tortured curiosity and a growing knot in the pit of my stomach that’s never really gone away.

'Kill Team' Brigade commander given wrist slap
http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/watercooler/2011/apr/5/kill-team-brigade-commander-given-wrist-slap/
Published on April 5, 2011

The investigation into those responsible for the Afghanistan "kill team" tactics led to "a letter of admonition" of Col. Harry D. Tunnell IV, reports the Military Times on Tuesday. According to MT: (bolding is mine)

"Was a brigade commander an instigator or just asleep at the switch while the 5th Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, “kill team” was allegedly murdering civilians?

An Army investigation finds no “causal relationship” between Col. Harry D. Tunnell IV’s aggressive leadership and the killings, but it criticizes Tunnell for neglectfulness that created a climate ripe for misconduct.

The investigation, first reported by Der Spiegel on Monday, ended in a letter of admonition for Tunnell, per I Corps Commander Lt. Gen Curtis “Mike” Scaparotti.

Tunnell’s superiors in Afghanistan lost confidence in him after he threw out the playbook and butted heads with commanders, derisively rejecting capacity-building counterinsurgency doctrine in favor of a “counter-guerilla” strategy that concentrated in engaging and destroying the enemy."

Der Spiegel found statements in the Army report saying that Tunnell was out for revenge "on a personal crusade" as a result of being shot in the leg in Iraq. MT quotes a soldier who described Tunnell:

"One soldier said of a talk by Tunnell, “If I were to paraphrase the speech and my impressions about the speech in a single sentence, the phrase would be: ‘Let’s kill those motherf**kers.’”

The Washington Times Water Cooler found that lawmakers on the hill claim to either not know the story or refuse to comment on the alleged actions of the Afghanistan "kill team." In a Washington Times piece, Joe Curl describes the media blackout of the story entirely even after Spc. Jeremy Morlock pleaded guilty in March for his part in murdering unarmed Afghanistan civilians.

The incident has brought comparisons to the 11 army guards at Abu Ghraib in 2004 who were tried and convicted on a number of counts for what was called detainee abuse and torture. No Abu Ghraib prisoners, however, were killed, however, as a result of the crimes. Mr. Curl writes:

The two scandals have some similarities. At Abu Ghraib, photos of prisoner abuse streamed out. Der Spiegel, the German magazine that broke the new story (again, paging the New York Times), claims to have 4,000 photos and videos of atrocities against civilians.

But the similarities end there. The “kill team” is accused of targeting civilians — including a 15-year-old boy — and then trying to cover up the murders by making it appear as if they were attacked. Only 19 photos have surfaced; one shows a smiling U.S. soldier holding a dead civilian’s head up off the ground by his hair.

Donald Rumsfeld, former Defense Secretary for President George W. Bush, told The Washington Times last week of the Afghanistan "kill team" photos: "The situation, of course, is much worse if someone dies, but it's a sad thing. It's unfortunate. The overwhelming majority of men and women in uniform are professional. They handle themselves well."

And  the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren,  ye have done it unto me.

From The Military Times:

‘Kill team’ brigade commander pushed ‘strike and destroy’ [UPDATED]
http://militarytimes.com/blogs/outside-the-wire/2011/04/05/kill-team-brigade-commander-pushed-strike-and-destroy/
APRIL 5TH, 2011 | OUTSIDE THE WIRE | POSTED BY JOE GOULD

Was a brigade commander an instigator or just asleep at the switch while the 5th Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, “kill team” was allegedly murdering civilians?

An Army investigation finds no “causal relationship” between Col. Harry D. Tunnell IV’s aggressive leadership and the killings, but it criticizes Tunnell for neglectfulness that created a climate ripe for misconduct.
The investigation, first reported by Der Spiegel on Monday, ended in a letter of admonition for Tunnell, per I Corps Commander Lt. Gen Curtis “Mike” Scaparotti.

Tunnell’s superiors in Afghanistan lost confidence in him after he threw out the playbook and butted heads with commanders, derisively rejecting capacity-building counterinsurgency doctrine in favor of a “counter-guerilla” strategy that concentrated in engaging and destroying the enemy.

“Soldiers lives are routinely put at hazard because the doctrine has not been written within a context of American military art and science, organization or capability,” he told investigators in his own statement for the report. “US Army forces are not organized, trained, or equipped to implement the doctrine.”

Der Speigel, quoting from the report, said Tunnell was on a personal crusade in Afghanistan to take revenge for being shot in the leg in Irag; He kept the metal rod from his leg on his desk and would use it “as an illustration,” one officer said.

One soldier said of a talk by Tunnell, “If I were to paraphrase the speech and my impressions about the speech in a single sentence, the phrase would be: ‘Let’s kill those motherf**kers.’”

The Washington Post, which also obtained a copy of the report, quotes Brig. Gen. Frederick B. Hodges, then-director of operations in southern Afghanistan:

“Looking back on my relationship with him, I regret that I wasn’t more involved in his professional development during his tenure as a brigade commander,” Hodges said. “I should have specifically told him that MG Carter and I had lost confidence in his ability to command from his failure to follow instructions and intent.”
The Seattle Times reports that Tunnell’s approach inspired fierce loyalty among some soldiers, but alienated some officers.

“What was shocking was the level of … disorganization, the level of mistrust among the lieutenant colonels (in the brigade) and their commander,” said Stjepan Mestrovic, a sociologist who was given access to the report as a defense expert witness for Spc. Jeremy Morlock, who pleaded guilty last month to participating in the murder of the unarmed Afghans.

UPDATE: Tunnell’s break with Gen. Stanley McChrystal’s COIN guidance should have come as no surprise.
In 2009, Army Times’ Sean Naylor detailed in a controversial piece from the war zone how squad leaders in Tunnell’s brigade were vocally upset that Tunnell was calling his own non-COIN plays, and that they felt unprepared for Afghanistan.

Frustration with the disconnect bred a cynical humor at one company command post, where a quote posted on the wall read: “Apparently COIN stands for Clearing Operations in November.”
And  the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren,  ye have done it unto me.

“causal relationship” between Col. Harry D. Tunnell IV’s aggressive leadership and the killings.
What these bigd dogs are saying, this does not contitute a relationship between the acts of the EM' and that of their col.'s command. According to the word game, this full bird is not their superior, what is he a tourist?
The chain of command, the higher up it goes the more it becomes political rather than Military. The good ol boys club, the power, the protective cover.  Brig. Gen. Frederick B. Hodges“Looking back on my relationship with him, I regret that I wasn’t more involved in his professional development during his tenure as a brigade commander,” Thats cute, after the Kills have been exposed he regrets it, tell it to the families of the murdered. &&&He admits prior knowledge with that statement.
Same O same O..Ok. that out of the way, it has been estimated that 100,000 civilians were killed during the invasion of Iraq. Guess what, no imagery, photos, live film or news broacasts. We bear wintness to the murder of civilans, it is evil, no doubt about it.  But folks- What of the genocide?  ZIP

Kill Team: The Bigger Picture

by Josh Stieber

One year ago, Wikileaks’ “Collateral Murder video1 created outrage over the actions of U.S. soldiers in Baghdad, including the platoon I deployed with. If that grisly video didn’t stop you in your tracks, the photographs and report on the “Kill Team,” released by Rolling Stone should be the wake-up call for truly examining what is being done in our name.2

Before making connections between the two events, it is important to note that I am not making a moral equivalency. Though innocent civilians were killed during the “Collateral Murder” incident, it did occur after a firefight, weapons were found on some of the bodies, and it was not premeditated. In contrast, the “Kill Team’s” murders were preplanned and carried out with no threat, and body parts of the slain were sadistically taken as trophies. That is not a moral excuse for the “Collateral Murder” case, but to evaluate the implications of both events, the context must be presented.

That said, both glimpses of warfare ought to raise serious questions at a fundamental level. Mark Boal’s Rolling Stone piece exposes exactly what was lacking in the “Collateral Murder’s” analysis: the climate in which the behavior occurred. Despite the much more gruesome and visceral level of the “Kill Team” case, however, the same damage control is still being attempted. The protocol response to these scandals is to isolate them as cases of rogue units at complete odds with how the rest of the military performs in Iraq and Afghanistan. Boal penetrates beyond an easy scape-goating of low ranking soldiers by also reporting on the shortcomings of higher ranking officers.

Fox News ran an opinion piece on May 30th from Michael Yon, a reporter who embedded with 5th Stryker Brigade, the unit scrutinized in the Rolling Stone article.3 Yon refutes claims that the attitudes and habits which birthed the sport killings of Afghan civilians were widespread by insisting that he would have known about it, and that he trusted the character of the unit’s leaders.Accusing Rolling Stone of shoddy journalism, he then calls for a boycott. Friendship with subjects is a poor substitute for investigative journalism, though not unprecedented. My unit also had a journalist, David Finkel, and his book about the deployment I was a part of, The Good Soldiers, describes a much more sanitized reality than I experienced.

The military hierarchy creates a convenient defense for those higher up the rungs;  as it’s phrased in military lingo, “shit rolls downhill.” If somebody as high up as Donald Rumsfeld is remarking, “it is interesting, in the case of Abu Ghraib, that it was such an important press event and nobody was killed. And in this case, it looks like there are allegations that some people were actually killed,” then Michael Yon is on lonely footing in condemning the story.5

Yon’s other main argument is that a video of soldiers shooting Afghans off of a motorcycle was justified; Boal, however, never said that it wasn’t and clearly stated that the men may have been armed. The video was used to show that videos and pictures of dead Afghans were widespread and led to an overall culture that degraded the worth of the very people to whom these wars are supposed to deliver freedom and security. I encountered this same practice, even beyond my own unit: sitting with a group of soldiers at the Dallas airport on my mid-tour leave in July of 2007, one guy pulled out his laptop and showed photos of dead Iraqis. I tried unsuccessfully to change the subject, and was further bewildered when a civilian approached us, thanked us for our service, and said he was sorry for the things we had to see. Chuckling at bloody corpses encouraged a disregard for human life; or, as one of the “Kill Team” members put it, “none of us in the platoon – the platoon leader, the platoon sergeant – no one gives a f**k about these people.”

Boal’s piece further describes how locals tried to inform officers of the atrocities being committed, only to be regularly ignored. Yon may be shocked, but I don’t find it hard to believe. Disgusted over what I’d seen in Iraq—most notably a policy that made any civilian fair game after a roadside bomb explosion—I applied for conscientious objector status after return from combat in 2008. On the report I filled out for my application, I listed seeing civilians killed as one of the determinants in my decision. My Commanding Officer said that I could only make this claim if I listed the soldiers who carried out the orders, but would not accept my listing of the officer who gave the command. Determined not play into the military’s tactic of placing misconduct on the lowest possible soldier while ignoring those who pushed for it, I withdrew the statement when my leader refused to file the paperwork with our Battalion Commander listed as the guilty party. The full story later came to light with when other members of my unit verified my statements in a Nation interview.6

Perhaps the most glaring aspect of the military’s damage control, often repeated by the media, is the lack on analysis on the local impact. A short apology by generals cannot wipe away the contradiction between a war to end terrorism while rebuilding a nation, and the means with which it is carried out. Malalai Joya, a former member of the Afghan parliament, and who, ironically, was nearly barred from her U.S. speaking tour this month on what “democracy” looks like in her country, stated the blunt reality: “Afghans do not believe this to be a story of a few rogue soldiers. We believe that the brutal actions of these "kill teams" reveal the aggression and racism which is part and parcel of the entire military occupation.”7

While U.S. leaders react to scandal, Joya reveals the overall culture which may not always end in publicized outrage, but makes that line easy to cross. Joking about killing “haji”--the the racist slur for Arabs equivalent to calling  Vietnamese people“gooks—begins in basic training. Trophy photos of slain Iraqis or Afghans only add to the callousness. Criticism of abuse is minimized, whether it’s my case or that of a “Kill Team” member whose father, when warned of what was going on, called his son’s unit only to be brushed aside. Drop weapons—arms taken from enemy combatants, used to plant on unarmed who were killed—were kept by my unit, just as they were by the “Kill Team;” we didn’t use them, to my knowledge, but they were the blank check for trigger-happiness. Some may still insist that these realities are exploited by a few bad apples; but it doesn’t take much imagination to wonder when, if it hasn’t already passed, the Afghan support needed to create stability will have been permanently lost because too many  bad apples reveal a rotten tree. This isn’t to say that most military members commit the same atrocities as the “Kill Team,” but the overall culture in which they were perpetrated is enough to put the war’s ends at odd with it its means.

The difference between Joya’s description of the bigger picture, and Yon’s damage control is a microcosm of the vicious cycle that further propels this war. U.S. officials insist that a few more years, an increase of troops, or extra money will lead to victory. In the meantime, when civilians are accidentally killed or the military outrages locals in some other way, quick apologies are uttered with no structural changes, or excuses are given that soldiers are weary or that the Taliban is worse. Then, when incidents like the “Kill Team” happen, they’re dismissed as extreme outliers. But with this track record, more of the same is ominous news for Afghans; in the words of Malalai Joya, “Once you know all this, and once you have seen the "kill team" photos, you will understand more clearly why Afghans have turned against this occupation.”

Josh Stieber deployed as part of "The Surge," with the infantry unit depicted in Wikileaks' "Collateral Murder" video, when he was assigned to Baghdad from Feb 2007-Apr 2008. After leaving the army as a conscientious objector in 2009, he and another veteran bicycled across the US to share their experiences and challenge assumptions about war. Stieber also coauthored a letter of reconciliation to Iraqi war victims and is working for further reconciliation in partnership with Iraqi Health Now; currently a student, he continues to speak, write, and organize.

You think those soldiers would hesitate to fire on American citizens if ordered to?

Not one bit. If given the orders, they would. Kind of how the police are now conditioned to fire on civilians (tear gas rubber bullets), and when the time comes for the police to use live rounds, again, like the soliders, they would.  They have been completely conditioned and brainwashed for that purpose.

As you point out - the military change isn't new - this has been an on going attack against our moral standards for quite some time now. The Korean war wasn't any better.

The US military system has been hijacked and become a training ground. The myriad undeclared wars/police actions/kinetic military actions are all controlled by the globalists
in policy and on the ground through their privately commanded, fed/world bank paid "contractors" a stealthy recruiting tool.

Our guys and gals do their 2 years in these training theaters. many upon seeing the money and the power the globalist armies like blackwater and others have, rotate out and join the globalist army... Most if not all of these atrocities being committed by soldiers are by these changelings... these sold out globalist goons...

Righteous soldiers of the US will rotate out and become the lawful Constitutional militia a citizen soldier of American people. They will put their training to work for the Constitution and the American people whose individual voices and power have made the Constitution the most important political document in history!

The thieving, mind altering, morals destroying, murdering globalist contractor thugs, through their actions, by selling their soul to empire, will loose it all...

Now does everyone understand why Ron Paul calls the list an impeachable offense? (at the least!)
All eyes are opened, or opening, to the rights of man. The general spread of the light of science has already laid open to every view the palpable truth, that the mass of mankind has not been born with saddles on their backs, nor a favored few booted and spurred, ready to ride them legitimately

Bump

Prussian history repeats.  >:(  Not the pattern we were taught in school, not the story we see on the news, not the story our government wraps in sweet licks, not the life I want for anyone but the treasonous culprits (which a few of you expose so well).  Those making laws, passing governance, supporting war and the British Crown are the last to fight on the field.  Rome sure never left home.  Treason isn't spoken enough against those who claim to be American, right Barry?  Maybe you need some Mau Mau oath ceremonies back home.

Thanks Chris...time to be upset.  Some have more than blood on their hands gifted to them by some sick Brzezinski framed minds.  Reflect on what our governance and faux pax leaders pass on.  I'd hope we are more than the ownerless property bred unto our masters for profiting.  Sure seems that way.  Kill lists are just sickening yet expected from these parasitic bodies who've looted our country and now want to protect their blood sucking ways so they can feed more on our anemic lives they've built for us.

Larson. Your unit was under the command of decent man. There were men, brass, in Nam who litteraly lorder kills, profied, hand picked, guys who had stepped over the line mentally.
The brass knew what was going on, they were involved, the backroom talkys and order, the whole nine yards bro0ther. It does not stop with the mentall case in the field, it does however go up the ladder to the brass, and coersion with agency, DOD etc.
A rule of thumb, assassins have been used throughout history, so have soldiers, USED. The Pheonix Program being a a good example of their methodry.

Hey Giark, i know the feeling, I get sick to stomach just thinking about it. I knew some guys who were raped by priests in Boston, hey, its on a par with murder in the first, the cardinal covered it up, when it was exposed he ran to the Vatican, protected.
We fought for this nation under the belief we were protecting our people and our nations honor, we were zits to these fukers on high, nothings, numbers at the very most in comparrison to these kids that were attacked, they will never be the same.
This film says it all, who's got the power. Not the people, we are mushrooms in the closet, in the dark, being fed shiit. Giark, sociopaths, pyschopaths, etc, the general concept is some derelict nutbag, or some freaky individual. The truth is they are on the tube every day feedin us shiit, hiding behind their titles, their positions, makeup, hairstyles, wrapped in a flag and the bible under their arm. The perfect refuge for the insanely evil. (Give the people the Ol Rherotic and they will wiggle the flag), they are hiding right in front of us. Its showtime brother, and the citizenry didn't wake up. Even the war in Vietnam, that FK price paid, the awakening didn't hang in there.
PS: on a personel note:Giark, you know the deal by the numbers, seems to me you found out the hard way, Just as I did. ONCE-I was behind this nation, believed in it, and trusted our leaders, though with questions, it took me a while to walk through the looking glass. God help America, may the people come to a knowledge of the truth.
These sociopathic freaks realized that the most effective manner of covering their true intentions was to develop a mask, acting the perfect the part of a human being with emotions and integrity, and go for the power, knowing their true nature would be protected by the true powers behind the curtain.  Intelligent psychos are difficult to catch.
I will not be buried on American soil though it is my right to be interned at Arlington national cemetery.  Please know, I truly believed in origins of this nation, the constitution, Bill  of Rights, but frankly brother this is not that America . The elitist mafia has been busy for much longer than most realize, working 24/7 to bring down this nation. Absolute domination of the masses is necessary  for them to complete this task, it seems to me they are in high gear, the last phases of their goal.
I have ranted, and my sympathy for having to listen to an ole dog, I did because I have a feeling your kicking around the globe like I did, visiting nations, cultures, and discovering first  hand knowledge, it’s a soul thing. I know what its like to look at this nation you would have fought and died for, seeing it from the outside looking in.

Chris, first you can call me Kraig any day.  You've earned that respect.  Others can continue calling me jerk.

Second, neither you nor I are lying dogs waiting to be kicked anymore.  I may have just a few teeth left but they still bite.

We may lose but we'll never win if we don't try.

You must join me at Abel Danger.  Just listen.  Every Wednesday 2-5 p.m. EST.

I just created the youtube channel with my images to prove the point your voice is heard.  We can make a difference.  Perception is 90% of what we think.  The other 10% is what we do with our perceptions.  What do you say?

Hi Keith, perception  ( it rilles them to beleive that we perceive the web they weave), old time verse.
My perception was based on my childhood training, family, and society, a very limited ability to say the least.
I look back knowing something was not right, my feelings only  , but unable to cross the line due to the peramiters , rhetoric etc., much like a good number of our citizenry today.
Admittedly, I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree, therfor I had to find out for myself what the truth is, and yes I did.

  • Freedom, Liberty & death to the NWO
Of course not. There is no conscience there. These sick animals are insane and dangerous.

Now they are coming home to work in various capacities as law enforcement!  This should worry everyone.
Freedom and Liberty, or slavery and death, your choice, choose wisely.

To those who've been brainwashed into literally worshipping "the troops" -- no matter how thuggish or psycopathic they behave -- this will be cause for celebration, not worry.

That's a damn shame, I can't believe they shot a kid like that. There were cases in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan of the enemy using their children to throw grenades at soldiers and to blow themselves up. My friend who was in Iraq saw it first hand. This was not one of those cases. There are a lot of great people in the military, the majority of them are, so don't make the mistake of lumping the "military" all in together. These soldiers are absolutely sick and they wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on us US citizens. As mentioned, they are coming back and getting jobs at NSA, TSA, and local LE jobs, scary. As more info comes out, it looks like these soldiers "acted on their own", but don't be fooled, there are teams in the military composed just to do things like this, and I wouldn't be surprised if there is already some American "kill team" already assembled behind the cloak of darkness for use in this country.
