I find that disturbing. I guess people can't be trusted so we do need a society based on command and control. To Hell with the control freaks!

Yes; extremely shitty that they base society on a scam.

I meant to say, "there went the neighborhood"  >:(

U.S. Capitol Police Officer Keith Atkins (L) stands guard outside the U.S. Capitol January 10, 2011 in Washington, DC. Law enforcement officers have beefed up their presence around the Capitol following a mass shooting Saturday in Tucson, Arizona, that left six people dead and at least 13 others wounded including U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) when a gunman opened fire at a public event held at Safeway supermarket.

And again no mention of the judge. Assassination 101 to be sure.

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, center, is accompanied by Afghan President Hamid Karzai, left, as they inspect the guard of honor ahead of their meet in Kabul, Afghanistan, Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011.

Judging by history, one of these men (Karzai) should not be smiling at all.  It is a sign of low-intelligence under the circumstances.

Not just the Whitehouse folks!

Against a backdrop of ice covered trees, national flags of Communist China and the U.S. fly along Pennsylvania Avenue outside the White House in Washington January 18, 2011. Chinese President Hu Jintao on Tuesday flew to the United States for a state visit.

Sure, we had a revolution against totalitarian/communist/fascist control freaks, but that was a very long time ago. Today, however, we just want to bury the hatchet and come together, work together, to create a brand new socialist paradise for the 21st century. Enough bickering: we already won our freedom!

Yup, Fort Sill.

That's where I did my basic over twenty years ago.

Nothing like bivouacing out on the prairie in December there, with the wind and the coyotes howling.

Yipeee!

I don't know what it's like now.  It was no piece of cake then, but (yes) the enemy is training even harder -- only it ain't called training.

It's called fighting for your life and your country (homeland).

That is a picture of defeat if those looking at it every day could really understand what it says.

No amount of brainwashing will ever be sufficient.

The entire project is inevitably doomed to failure.

Carpet bombing having failed, the exterminists will most likely use WMD's in AfPakistan (Like a "surge" of 1400 troops is going to make any difference  ::)).

If people ther start dropping like flies from "infleunza", "pneumonia" or other "respiratory dieases" suspect cehmical weapons.  (Biological and Radiological weapons are not beyond the pale however, as well.)

What's that quote, Stalin I think, about one death being a tragedy but a million being a statistic? I have long believed that the key to getting people even interested in ending war is to plaster the corporate media with graphic imagery of the reality of war, day after day after day after day. After 10 days of persistent photos and video of children being blown apart, the people would grab their pitchforks and storm their places of government. War exists because it is strategically sanitized.

In this photo released by China's Xinhua news agency, newly recruited soldiers of the People's Liberation Army take part in a training session in Yichun, northeast of Beijing, China, Friday, Jan. 21, 2011. Some 150 newly recruited soldiers participated in the training session. Local temperature in Yichun reached minus 32 degrees centigrade Friday.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai inspects a guard of honor to inaugurate the new parliament in Kabul, Afghanistan on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011. President Hamid Karzai swore in the country's new parliament Wednesday in a ceremony that marked the end of a drawn-out battle over whether the lawmakers would be able to start work despite ongoing investigations into electoral fraud.

Just how hypocritical is it for the US to be all buddybuddy with China, a Communist country, and yet Cuba, a Communist country, is treated like they got the plague or something. Oh, my bad, Cuba doesn't have a 250 million strong manufacturing base of slave labor.

With the Kuwaiti colors in hand, a Kuwaiti Marine rushes to the center of Qaruh Island to fly the flag, Jan. 24, during a reenactment of the events which took place 20 years earlier.
