IBM Patent-Pending Traffic Light Stop Car Engines
« on: May 23, 2010, 01:36:11 pm »
"I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't let your engine idle."

The USPTO has just published IBM's patent application for a 'System and Method for Controlling Vehicle Engine Running State at Busy Intersections for Increased Fuel Consumption Efficiency.' Here's how Big Blue explains the invention:

'The present disclosure is directed to a method for managing engines in response to a traffic signal. The method may comprise establishing communications with participating vehicles; responding to a stop status indicated by the traffic signal, further comprising: receiving a position data from each participating vehicles; determining a queue of participating vehicles stopped at the traffic signal; determining a remaining duration of the stop status; sending a stop-engine notification to the list of participating vehicles stopped at the traffic signal when the remaining duration is greater than a threshold of time; responding to a proceed status indicated by the traffic signal, further comprising: sending a start-engine notification to a first vehicle in the queue; calculating an optimal time for an engine of a second vehicle in the queue to start; and sending the start-engine notification to the second vehicle at the optimal time.' IBM notes that 'traffic signals may include, but not limited to, traffic lights at intersections, railway crossing signals, or other devices for indicating correct moments to stop and to proceed.'"

IBM applies for right to stop your car at intersections, week after researchers hack car

    * IBM lodges patent application
    * Technology can stop-start cars at will
    * Researchers "hack" family sedan

THE days of running red lights may be numbered.

Which is obviously a good thing in the obvious sense that things could get a little safer, but the method by which it may come about is causing some concern. If you're at all in fear of a Skynet future controlled entirely by computers such as that featured in the Terminator franchise, look away now.

IBM has applied for a patent that covers "a method for managing engines in response to a traffic signal".

If you're crawling through traffic in 2025 and approach a traffic light, IBM hopes it will be able to take control of your car.

And according to the patent, you won't be able to go again until it lets you.

Which sounds relatively harmless - it's something we do, or should do, anyway - but the issue of computer-controlled cars had some uneasy light thrown on it last week, when researchers at the universities of Washington and California enjoyed themselves at the expense of current models.

In effect, they hacked a family sedan.

With a laptop and customised software called CarShark, the researchers disabled the brakes of a regular family car and switched its engine off - while it was moving. They also played with its air-conditioning and added a "countdown" feature, which saw the car stop, doors lock and a series of little honks notify the driver trapped inside that their engine is about to die.

You can read their report of the experiment here.

Admittedly, they needed to attach the laptop to the car's engine, but in the wireless technology age, it serves as a wakeup call to car manufacturers that on-board computer security is a risk they'll have to manage far more effectively.

Particularly if IBM sees a future in which cars can be remotely controlled by traffic lights.

It's patent application claims the technology is all in the name of "fuel consumption efficiency".

The application abstract includes juicy Big Brother-esque terms such as "establishing communications with participating vehicles", "sending a stop-engine notification to the list of participating vehicles", and "calculating an optimal time for an engine of a second vehicle in the queue to start".

The question most will ask is "Can it be be enshrined in legislation?". In a word, yes.

In 2008, it became mandatory for all American cars to be fitted with CAN (Controller Area Network), a standard protocol for enabling all the car's electronics to talk to each other, so there's one part of the puzzle in place.

Just make sure you log your car off before locking it.

IBM, GE lock up security partnership

http://www.news.com/IBM,-GE-lock-up-security-partnership/2100-7355_3-5079051.html
By Matt Hines  Staff Writer, CNET News.com Published: September 18, 2003, 9:01 PM PDT

IBM and GE's Interlogix business unit announced a joint agreement Friday to provide integrated computer- and physical-security systems to large customers.

Under the terms of the agreement, GE Interlogix will integrate its security software with IBM's enterprise management and application server software to create systems meant to protect computer networks, buildings and employees.

An example of a possible project under the agreement would be an integrated security network in which employees' facility key cards are linked to the passwords on computer systems. Customers would benefit through increased security and lowered overhead, according to Ray Blair, vice president of business development at IBM Global Services.

"Say one person 'badges-out' of a facility and 10 minutes later someone else tries to access a computer system using that person's password. Immediately alarms would go off," Blair said. "By integrating physical security with IT security tools you get a whole new level of protection."

IBM reported that the partnership would combine human resource systems and facilities management applications with physical security assets such as badge readers and intrusion and surveillance systems. The system would also link to "logical security capabilities," including single sign-on protection through smart cards, Blair said.

Blair said IBM and GE Interlogix have been working together for years to build internal security systems for their own companies and only recently decided to market their work to users. The companies estimate they have saved as much as 80 percent of the time and money they previously spent performing now-redundant security tasks, according to Blair.

Other potential applications could include facial recognition systems that identify when someone has illegally gained access to a secure facility, or radio frequency identification (RFID) tags inserted into laptop computers to track equipment movement around facilities, he said.

IBM will be responsible for providing IT security services and application integration for customers, and it will work with network partners to help customers integrate their information technology infrastructure and back-office systems. IBM will also handle overall project management when requested, the companies said.

Blair said the partnership is non-exclusive, allowing both companies the freedom to work with other vendors on similar projects. It will also let them maintain an open-systems architecture.

Under the deal, GE Interlogix will integrate its Facility Commander security integration software with IBM's Tivoli enterprise management software--including Tivoli Risk Manager and Tivoli Enterprise Console--and its WebSphere server software. GE Interlogix will also support IBM Directory Integrator and IBM DB2 database, IBM said.

IBM reported that it also plans to incorporate its IBM Tivoli Access Manager and IBM Tivoli Identity Manager into other GE products to integrate and automate identity management businesses processes with physical security practices.

And the family of the first person that dies because they couldn’t get to the hospital fast enough because they had to stop and have their car turned off at every light is going to have grounds for a multi million dollar lawsuit.

People are already destroying and disabling Red Light cams across the country and world, they start putting in active intervention systems that mess with people’s cars systems and people will be shooting these off the poles right and left.
I’m getting a little tired of living in interesting times.  “Draskinn”

Don't drive a vehicle with electronics. Refuse to play their game. Problem solved.

Wrong.  Problem not solved--know why?  Because all the New World Order has to do is keep destroying the economy, and continue offering complete scams like "Cash for Clunkers" that deliberately takes older vehicles off the road (that people will gladly turn in so they don't starve to death for awhile)--removing them from the used marketplace--forcing people to only have fascist, anti-freedom, fusion center, global information grid, artificial intelligence cyberfalseflag enabled newer cars available.  Slaves are not going to be allowed to even remotely have freedom of movement eventually.

The solution is the majority need to viciously reject all bullshit renwewable/clean energy agendas, artificial intelligence software architectures modeling the activities of humans and the environment, point out that these Nazi fascist terrorist corporations like IBM, Lockheed Martin, and General Electric (to name a few) should have all of their executives arrested for treason and war crimes, and flat out shut these piece of shit companies down.

Boycott/refuse smart phones.
Boycott cell phones (refuse to own one PERIOD).
Boycott/refuse all facial recognition (part of cybernetic control over humanity, unconstitutional as hell).
Boycott/fight back against all biometrics in general.
Boycott the airlines until TSA/DHS AND any and all military industrial complex technology, and terrorist contractors (i.e. Raytheon, CACI) (AI GIG integrated cameras and SENSORS) are REMOVED from airports permanently.
Boycott and refuse to use anything that qualifies as a "wearable computer".
Mass protest smart meters, and do it for the right reasons.
Boycott/refuse to use GPS devices (you ARE being tracked by these while you think to yourself how great it is that you can find things that you could have found anyways with non-New World Order technology).
Engage in mass non-compliance against ALL iterations of being scanned, anywhere, at any time.
Mass protest traffic cameras, and demand that the CAMERAS AND SENSORS get ruled unconstitutional, and forced to be removed, relegating that job back to human police who will have to actually work again.

It isn't enough to understand that "Global Warming/Climate Change" is a fraud/scam (they don't give a damned if you know this, because they know that you don't know the real agenda that those terms are euphemisms for).  That isn't going to cut it, because the elite have already used the following contingency buzzwords to act as 100% substitutes for them that usher in the exact same agenda for them:

"Clean" energy is a lie, it is about Cybernetic control over your life.
"Renewable" energy is a lie, it is about Cybernetic control over your life.
"Alternative" energy is a lie, it is about Cybernetic control over your life.
"Renewable" resources, is a lie, it is about Cybernetic control over your life.
The "Smart Grid" is a lie, it is about Cybernetic control over your life.
"Smart meters" are a lie, they are about Cybernetic control over your life.
"Smart appliances" are a lie, they are about Cybernetic control over your life.

Al-Qaeda was a lie, it was about advancing Cybernetic control over your life.
ALL Establishment statements about "terror threats" are a lie, they are about advancing Cybernetic control over your life.

ALL wars since Vietnam have been a lie, their purpose has been to apply Cybernetics to warfare to advance the "Revolution in Military Affairs"--which is a genocidal agenda of constantly manufacturing fake enemies to fight in order to advance methodologies of oppression and control over global populations.  This Cybernetic application to warfighting is then applied to the civilian population--effectively becoming what you could call a "Revolution in Civilian Affairs", which is synonymous with the term "Scientific Dictatorship", or "Cybernetic Dictatorship" (latter is much more accurate).

No one was buying the notion of man made climate change (esp due to CLIMATEGATE), so the elite carried out the Gulf Oil false flag to say "oh, look how evil oil is, it horrifically pollutes and destroys everything".  With that false flag, they shifted the focus AWAY from climate change, towards the fraudulent "clean energy" agenda, which is EXACTLY THE SAME THING as the "climate change" agenda--the ends are identical--cybernetic control over your life with trillions of global sensors all over the Earth, monitoring everything, and your life being governed, extorted, forced into permanent austerity, enslaved by the "smart grid".

Since that wasn't enough, they had to go and carry out the Fukushima false flag to deomonize the real clean energy of Nuclear Power (which, even in the Noospheric paradigm where carbon dioxide exists as an enemy to humanity--it even fit the bill for being "carbon neutral").  Then you had, and have massive drills and around a dozen or so total nuclear reactors that have been cyberfalseflag hacked (probably by MITRE Corporation/CACI/SAIC/Unisys/IBM) where they "mysteriously went into shut down".  Wow, what a huge f*cking coincidence huh?  All this right after F_UCKYOUShima.  Look at what Dr. John Coleman said about nuke plants years ago.  They need them GONE because they generate ULTRA CHEAP, ULTRA RELIABLE, ULTRA STABLE energy for HUGE numbers of people.  It doesn't serve the agenda of energy rationing, which is what they want.  They don't want you using ANY energy AT ALL, because you are supposed to shut up and die in their view.

Effie,

While your post is thought-provoking, all I was talking about was the device they want to put on vehicles! Shees!  ::)

I'm not naive enough to think driving a non-electronics vehicle will solve the world's problems.
