Statesman Implies Infowars Supported Austin Plane Attack

Suggests Alex Jones behind Stack Facebook fan pages

Buried near the end of an article about how the Internet and social media networks covered the unfolding aftermath of the Austin plane attack yesterday, the Austin-American Statesman implies that Infowars were behind Facebook fan pages that expressed support for pilot Joe Stack’s violent actions.

“Infowars was part of a flood of quickly sprouting blog posts and Facebook pages examining theories such as “Austin TX plane crash was STAGED???” or supporting Stack’s alleged point of view (”The Joe ‘Take My Pound Of Flesh’ Stack Anti-IRS Fan Page”).” wrote the Statesman’s Omar L. Gallaga.

Of course, the use of the word “or” in the middle of the sentence gives the Statesman plausible deniability, but the impression created is clear – that Infowars was behind not only “conspiracy theories” surrounding the attack but also messages of support for the perpetrator, since the two concepts are seamlessly intertwined in one sentence.

While the Statesman targeted Infowars, the New York Daily News attempted a broader smear by publishing comments by people who hailed Stack as an anti-government hero, claiming that the “Internet lit up with government haters” cheering Stack’s suicide attack.

Stack was not a particularly political person and his actions came as a result of a bitter 20-year plus personal dispute with the IRS, not as some harbinger of a wave of right-wing domestic terror across America as many in the media have portrayed.

In addition, publications like the NY Daily News aren’t so keen to create stories out of comments left by people cheerleading for an attack on Iran, an assault that would cost the lives of millions of people.

According to the corporate media’s response, cheerleading acts of terrorism are only acceptable when that terror is being directed by the United States government against brown people in the Middle East.

If both the phony left and right wings stopped exploiting yesterday’s tragedy to try and score points against their political adversaries, maybe we could spend some time trying to understand exactly what drove Joe Stack to the edge instead of obsessing about whether he is a socialist terrorist or a right-wing terrorist.
All eyes are opened, or opening, to the rights of man. The general spread of the light of science has already laid open to every view the palpable truth, that the mass of mankind has not been born with saddles on their backs, nor a favored few booted and spurred, ready to ride them legitimately

Austin Statesman must have some stupid employees, or at least writers. What a foolish writer! Not a word of truth in his allegations! Alex and many patriots simply look for the truth on every event, since the people who are supposed to investigate these things always lie to us!
