Sputnik: The EU is calling on Serbia to close the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center (RSHC) in Nis if it wants to join the bloc as a member.
That is what Russian FMi Sergei Lavrov said while on his official two-day visit to Belgrade this week, adding that Brussels sees this center, located in southern Serbia, as "a spies' ( AP) nest and a security threat."

53 percent of Serbian citizens believe the country should continue with its EU integration even after Britain's departure from the Union.

At the same time, young people are increasingly "resistant toward the path to the EU," a survey conducted by the Institute for European Affairs NGO has shown.
The poll was presented in its entirety on Thursday, while a summary was published earlier in the week.
NGO's Tibor Moldovai, a psychologist, said that 51 percent of those aged 18-29 was in favor of ending Serbia's EU integration, while 43 percent think the opposite.

If tomorrow was held a referendum with the question "Do you support Serbia in the EU", 15% would not vote at all, while 9 percent do not know what to answer to that question.

P.S. In the spring this year, in one interview for Belgrade`s newspaper "Politika" Russian historian Prof. Elena Guskova said that West will demanded Kosovo from Serbia and Serbia to impose sanctions against Russia. She said that President Vucic will do it like EU told to him.  :o

The popularity of the EU in Serbia is falling, says Slobodan Samardzic, a professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade, Serbia, and in the reaction of its officials and authorities noticeably for the past several months. This decline in popularity is caused, as Samardzic says, with the hopelessness of membership.

"With their policies and propaganda, they persuaded residents a few years ago that Serbia will be a member of the EU, and as time goes on, it's going further and far from reality. Now they want to restore this trust, which is done in a wrong way, through a propaganda campaign, "explains Samardzic.

Although European officials speak of a "communication strategy", it is a classic political propaganda, adds Samardzic, and perhaps a manipulative campaign.

"It all depends on the program. It would not be manipulative if the EU spoke realistically, not in superlatives, and if the perspectives of membership were to be spoken realistically. However, somewhere I doubt that it is a question of persuasion, not an equal talk of advantages and disadvantages. For today, as there are advantages for cooperation with the EU, there are also major shortcomings, "Samardžić claims.

War Criminal Drinks 'Poison' In Court And Dies Just Hours Later, Croatian TV Says
November 29, 20177:36 AM ET

...
Updated at 10:09 a.m. ET

Slobodan Praljak died Wednesday, just hours after the convicted war criminal interrupted a courtroom hearing to declare his innocence — and then drank a small container of what he said was poison, according to Croatian state media.

"Judges, Slobodan Praljak is not a war criminal!" Praljak, 72, told the U.N. appeals judges who had just upheld his 20-year prison sentence, a judgment of the long-running International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. "I reject this verdict."

Then, as the presiding judge asked him urgently to stop and sit down, Praljak tilted his head back and downed a glass of liquid.

Moments later, he said, "I just drank poison."

...
The Associated Press adds: "Wednesday's hearing was the final case at the groundbreaking tribunal before it closes its doors next month. The tribunal, which last week convicted former Bosnian Serb military chief Gen. Ratko Mladic of genocide and other crimes, was set up in 1993, while fighting still raged in the former Yugoslavia. It indicted 161 suspects and convicted 90 of them."
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole ; He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. - Job 5

 :)  :)

Asked by the Faktor Plus agency whether Serbia should be a member of the European Union, 38% of respondents said that Serbia was in the EU, while 35% opposed it.

According to the director of this opinion poll, Vladimir Pejić, confidence in the EU is declining, and this shows the minimal difference between the "yes" and "no" responses for Serbia in the EU, adding that the gap is getting smaller and that the question "No" be greater than "yes".

- The course of the Serbian rulers headed by Vucic is the road to the EU, which reinforces citizens' response to that - said Pejic.

As he pointed out, if his party became anti-European, it would affect citizens to change opinion from European to anti-European.

"Serbia's path to the EU is slow and uncertain, which is also shown by this research," Pejic pointed out.
