‘C Street’ group tied to Ensign is linked to yet another secretive group
http://rawstory.com/08/news/2009/07/11/c-street-group-tied-to-ensign-is-linked-to-yet-another-secretive-group/
By Muriel Kane Published: July 11, 2009

The powerful and secretive group known as the Fellowship Foundation or the “Family” is quickly gaining notoriety, due to its links to two scandal-plagued Republicans, Senator John Ensign of Nevada and Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina.

According to the Washington Post, however, the Fellowship Foundation is itself linked to an even more secretive religious organization — Youth With a Mission (YWAM), whose Washington, DC branch owns the “C Street House” where Ensign has lived and where Sanford has participated in Bible study.

A diarist at Daily Kos points out that “YWAM founder leader Loren Cunningham has publicly outlined a vision for Christian world-control,” which involves establishing domination over government, education, business, the media, and other areas.

The last time YWAM came to notice was in 2006, when Loren Cunningham’s son, David Cunningham, gained attention as the director of ABC’s bitterly anti-Clinton “docudrama,” The Path to 9/11. According to Talking Points Memo, the younger Cunningham’s ties to YWAM were discovered by Digby and discussed at length on both Daily Kos and Democratic Underground.

Cunningham was found to be particularly involved in a YWAM offshoot known as The Film Institute, whose goal is to place its graduates “within the film industry, not to give them jobs, but so that they can begin to impact and transform Hollywood from the inside out.”

Dave Neiwert, a dedicated student of extremist groups, brought together a variety of items relating to YWAM’s aims for worldly domination, commenting that what he found especially interesting was “the way these supposedly forthright Christians are now busy covering the tracks connecting them to The Path to 9/11. All this snooping is obviously making them nervous.”

YWAM has also been accused of having cult-like tendencies, which were detailed at length in an article published in 1990 that described both the brainwashing-like techniques employed in its Discipleship Training Schools and its financial exploitation of its recruits.

In 2006, a poster at a Catholic message board noted with alarm that YWAM appeared to be attempting to infiltrate Catholic Churches in Europe and Africa by setting up Discipleship Training Schools.

“YWAM Has been under investigation as a possible cult,” the poster wrote. “Several complaints have been filed with the San Francisco City Hall Mayor’s Office regarding YWAM ‘missionaries’ harassment of homeless Catholics and Gays. On several occasions homeless Catholics were not allowed to pray their rosaries at the YWAM mission because YWAMers believe that the rosary is idol worship. One YWAMer even threatened to throw a homeless man’s rosary into the garbage simply because she saw it lying on the couch. On another occasion a homeless man who happened to be Gay was told by several YWAMers that he should ‘come to Jesus because Jesus will make you straight’. They continued to do this even after he repeatedly stated that he did not want to be made straight.”

"Path to 9/11" Maker Has Evangelical Ties
http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/001491.php
By Justin Rood - September 8, 2006, 2:39PM

The director of ABC's controversial "Path to 9/11" docudrama has ties to an evangelical Christian group whose goals include "transform[ing] Hollywood from the inside out," according to research by readers of prominent blogs.

"Path" director David L. Cunningham is also involved in "The Film Institute," an offshoot of the Hawaii-based global evangelical group, Youth With a Mission.

One goal of Cunningham's Film Institute is to "fast-track" students from a digital film program associated with the YWAM organization into positions "within the film industry, not to give them jobs, but so that they can begin to impact and transform Hollywood from the inside out," according to a cached version of page from a YWAM Web site. The original appears to have been moved or deleted.

The digital filmmaking program at YWAM's University of Nations appears to provide Cunningham's institute with its interns. The school's Web site encourages potential students, "If you are serious about allowing the Lord to use either your professional background in film and television, or your God-given desire to learn, don't miss this opportunity. Apply today!"

Our phone calls to Cunningham, the school, YWAM offices and YWAM directors in the United States were not immediately returned.

Cunningham's involvement with the Film Institute was disclosed on the now-missing YWAM Web site.

David L. Cunningham is also the son of YWAM founder, Loren Cunningham, according to the evangelical film site, ChristianCinema.com.

On its Web site, YWAM describes itself as "an international movement of Christians" performing "evangelism, training and mercy ministry" in 149 countries.

Cunningham's ties to the evangelical organizations were discovered and reported by Digby, readers and bloggers on DailyKos, Democratic Underground, and elsewhere.

 Kerygma Teams/YWAM cult investigation
Kerygma Teams is conducting a Discipleship Training School (DTS) in Catholic churches in Ireland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Slovakia, and Ghana.

Kerygma Teams is a branch of a missionary organization YWAM (Youth With a Mission) Also associated with Youth Arise. YWAM Has been under investigation as a possible cult. Several complaints have been filed with the San Francisco City Hall Mayor’s Office regarding YWAM “missionaries” harassment of homeless Catholics and Gays. On several occasions homeless Catholics were not allowed to pray their rosaries at the YWAM mission because YWAMers believe that the rosary is idol worship. One YWAMer even threatened to throw a homeless man’s rosary into the garbage simply because she saw it lying on the couch. On another occasion a homeless man who happened to be Gay was told by several YWAMers that he should “come to Jesus because Jesus will make you straight”. They continued to do this even after he repeatedly stated that he did not want to be made straight.

Rick Ross, an internationally recognized cult expert, did an investigation into YWAM. Here’s what he found:
“During our dialogue with the area director of YWAM he made repeated statements concerning the Catholic Church. Mr. Savoca said that he and his organization had very friendly relations with the Church. Moreover, that in New York and specifically in Mexico, many "crusades" and "revivals" were undertaken with the support and assistance of Catholic clergy and lay leaders.
Christian Brother, Timothy Mayworm F.S.F. of Pasadena, California, indicated quite the opposite. In fact, Brother Timothy had received repeated complaints concerning YWAM. The organization had caused severe problems for many Catholic families. Again, the complaints fit the consistent pattern of reported abuses. Dictatorial discipleship, "legalism" and psychological and emotional control through "group leaders". Click here for the full report>>> http://www.rickross.com/reference/youth/youth6.html

Here is what some former YWAM missionary had to say about her experience:
"Methods used by YWAM at their Discipleship Training School are some of the same types of methods used by Chinese Brainwashing experts, the Moonies, and Scientology. Students are isolated from their families and old acquaintances, forced to participate in obsessive personal confession and exposure in small groups using classical "sensitivity training"/encounter group techniques familiar to many cults, and forced to accept appointed authorities just for authority sake, whether the authorities acted correctly or incorrectly" (Laurie Jacobson, The Cultic Studies Journal, Vol. 3, No. 2, 1986).

Click here for the full report>>>> http://www.rapidnet.com/~jbeard/bdm/...ywam.htm#Note:

This organization is extremely anti-Catholic and should not be allowed to operate it's ministry within the Catholic church.

I also have a hunch that YWAM may be behind the mysterious hacking into Catholic Answers Forum. Luckily I was able to retrieve all the previous posts off of Googles cache. So I am reposting it here.

Sign Of The Times: Lawmaker Won't Say Whether He Lives At C Street
http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/07/sign_of_the_times_lawmaker_wont_say_whether_he_liv.php
By Zachary Roth - July 23, 2009, 11:33AM

These are tough times for C St.

The usually low-profile Capitol Hill-based Christian dorm and bible study group has been at the center of a media frenzy after three separate Republicans with ties to C St admitted to extra-marital affairs in recent weeks. And now, things have gotten so bad that one Christian lawmaker is treating the issue like a state secret, refusing even to say whether he lives there.

A North Carolina paper asked a spokesman for Rep. Heath Shuler, a North Carolina Democrat, whether the congressman lives in the house -- which is associated with the secretive Christian group The Fellowship -- and got the following reply:
"Sorry about this one, but because of privacy issues, we're not giving out any information about the congressman's living arrangements.

The Christian magazine Worldmag.com had reported that Shuler does currently live there, along with Sens. Jim DeMint and Tom Coburn, and Reps. Zach Wamp, Mike Doyle, and Bart Stupak.

Given the number of adulterers tied to C Street -- and the growing sense that place functions as a forum for lawmakers to confess their hanky-panky to peers who'll help them cover it up -- it's hard to blame Shuler for wanting to keep people in the dark on the issue.

But when conservative Christian members of Congress won't even admit to being associated with a bible fellowship, you know things have reached quite a pass.

Late Update: Now another lawmaker is distancing himself from C Street. Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI) says he just "rent[s ] a room" at the house, but doesn't know what goes on there. "I do not belong to any such group. I don't know what you are talking about. ... I have no affiliation," he adds.

Joe Scarborough said he had been to the "house" on C Street...
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x6096971
On the Bill Maher show last night, Maher asked Scarborough if he had ever been to the "church" on C Street where Ensign and Sanford lived. Scarborough said that he had but Maher never pursued it any further? I wanted to know if he lived there while he was a Congressman? And what kind of scam were they running to call it a "church" and be tax exempt? Did they not have to pay any rent? Was it tax exempt also?? There were a lot of questions left unanswered, in my opinion.

Update: While on Colbert, Congressman Joe Scarborough
admited taking bribe money from Jack Abramoff

While the media was obsessed with Chandra Levy, another congressional staffer was found dead in then-representative and current MSNBC talk-show host Joe Scarborough's office. Unlike Gary Condit, Scarborough got a free ride from the press.

Report by Denis Wright

In the morning of July 20, 2001, the body of Lori Klausutis, who had worked as an aide to Republican Congressman Joe Scarborough for approximately two years, was found in Scarborough's Fort Walton Beach, Florida, office. There were no witnesses to Klausutis's death. According to Anna Dobbins, a producer at WEAR-TV, Joe was on the phone with the local ABC affiliate in Pensacola within three hours of the discovery of the body, and before the family was notified, to say that "a young woman had died in his office and that she had a complicated medical history, specifically surrounding 'stroke and epilepsy.'" The congressman and his advisor, Mick Serrano, made similar calls to two other local media outlets within hours of the body's discovery. According to Dobbins and others, about a week later, after the Klausutis family wrote an excoriating letter to a local paper, Serrano called back to ask that they stop reporting the "complicated health history." Joe, they were now correctly told, had spoken in error. Klausutis-a marathon runner, 28 years old and happily married-had been in great shape. Her "complicated health" began only on the night that she died, and its "history" surfaced primarily because of Joe's misinformation.

The nebulous circumstances surrounding Klausutis's death were further compounded during her body's postmortem exam. Michael Berkland, the medical examiner assigned to perform the autopsy, quickly released a statement to the press indicating that there were no signs of trauma to the body or any indication of foul play. Later, however, he admitted the body had "a scratch and a bruise."

Berkland, it must be noted, has a less than professional record. He was fired from his position as medical examiner in Missouri for making false statements and eventually lost the right to practice medicine in that state (see sidebar). Still, Berkland concluded in the final autopsy report that Klausutis's heart had failed. Moreover, by failing to officially close the investigation, long after they had ceased to interview witnesses, the police prevented the public from learning any facts about Klausutis's death. Only when the autopsy report was released (and that occurred only because the editor in chief of the Northwest Florida Daily News Ralph Routon's editorial demanded its issuance) did those willing to exercise their rights under Florida's Sunshine Law learn the extent of Lori's injuries. The autopsy report revealed that Lori had suffered two skull fractures and an additional wound. A 71/4-inch crack all but spanned the top of her head, from right temple to left. As a likely consequence of that blow, blood poured in from a steadily pumping heart to form a fist-sized hematoma at the left temple. There were separate 11/2-inch eggshell fractures, essentially pulverizing the bone, deep inside the skull behind the right ear. The back of her head was bashed, and her lungs were filled with bloody foam, suggesting that she took a relatively long time to die. In the final autopsy report, Berkland wrote off all those devastating injuries to heart failure. According to Berkland, Klausutis had fainted from a weak heart and hit her head on the desk, an unlikely scenario considering the massive damage to the victim's skull.

Showing an incredible lack of professionalism, the local press swallowed this story whole, even the seeming contradiction about a failing heart having been capable of pumping more than a half cup of blood to form the hematoma. Medical science suggests that, if Klausutis's heart was so weak that it failed to pump enough blood to her brain to maintain consciousness, that same heart would not pump enough blood to form the hematoma. With Berkland's confusing-and medically improbable-scenario securely within the official case file, the case was closed.

No more questions. No more answers.

Democratic Congressman Gary Condit wasn't so lucky. Chandra Levy was last seen April 30, 2001, less than three months before Klausutis's death. Thousands of stories appeared all over the world about Condit's missing intern. When facts were in short supply, the media unashamedly engaged in rampant speculation. For instance, constantly searching for a new angle to the story, Fox News even interviewed a psychic to learn what happened to Levy. Condit became the most sought-after interview subject since Monica Lewinsky. Connie Chung beat out Barbara Walters, Diane Sawyer, Dan Rather and others for the much-coveted "get," and on August 23, 2001, a little more than a month after Klausutis's death, ABC's Prime Time Live aired the highly anticipated interview/event. Levy and Klausutis were both young females who worked for U.S. representatives. Scarborough's aide, while never missing, also died under mysterious circumstances. Both stories broke-or would have broken-within three months of each other and before the events of 9/11 finally forced the media to get over the Condit story (at least temporarily).

Given these similarities, how was it that the media never even questioned why Scarborough was not a suspect in Klausutis's death? The mainstream press, by our count, published only a few dozen stories about the case of the dead staffer, almost all of which appeared in outlets in the northwest Florida area. Cable news completely ignored the story. The alternative press, too, has been all but silent on the Klausutis situation. The "liberal media" that spent the greater part of summer 2001 destroying the career and reputation of former Congressman Gary Condit (D-California) over his affair with his then-missing intern Chandra Levy had absolutely nothing to say about the young woman who worked for Scarborough and died in his office. While so-called journalists chased down every rumor about Condit, they would simply hang up on or dismiss any caller who dared to mention the death in Joe's office. Furthermore, instead of receiving the Condit treatment-nonstop Larry King specials with titles such as "Death in a Congressman's Office"-Joe was offered his own television show [with GE's Televeision]. Unexpectedly, Scarborough announced his retirement from representing Florida's First Congressional District in May 2001-just six months after his reelection-and signed a three-year contract with cable news channel MSNBC to host Scarborough Country, replacing their then-highest-rated prime-time show, Donahue. [who was fired for having a 9/11 widow on his show ]  Not only did he escape media scrutiny altogether, but he was also given a slot in their ranks. Scarborough has since made a name for himself for his thoroughly brutal attacks on anyone who disagrees with him or George W. Bush. Danny Glover, Michael Moore, Susan Sarandon and Janeane Garofalo have all been the targets of Joe's ire.

According to The New Yorker's TV reviewer Nancy Franklin, Scarborough "swings his little club with about as much discrimination as Bamm-Bamm, the diaper-clad pugilist on The Flintstones." But "Regular Joe"-as he likes to be called-has an uncommonly thin skin. Scarborough has frequently complained about his tarnished reputation and lambastes anyone who questions the disparity of coverage received by the Condit and Scarborough cases. "It's not really the media so much as it is sort of this political class of people who just go around causing trouble all the time," Joe said in an interview published in the Pensacola News Journal in September 2001, just days before he left office. "For instance, it is spread all over the Internet right now that my staff member [Lori Klausutis], who died tragically a month ago, was killed by me. I could list a thousand conspiracy theories against me: that I rig elections; that I have a drug-running outfit with the CIA; that I'm a murderer; that I have 15 illegitimate children." [somebody investigate this, sounds like a confession]

In reality, there's been scant coverage of even the most fundamental aspects of the Klausutis case. One is left to wonder why our media was so quick to jump on every single tid-bit of gossip and innuendo about Gary Condit but refused to report of Lori Klausutis's death, on the equally intriguing and tragic story. Surely if Gary Condit had called the media to issue false statements about Chandra Levy's nonexistent health problems, the public would have heard about it nonstop. In Joe's case, the revelation was never mentioned. Regardless, Regular Joe is now a regular TV star, living the high life in New York a thousand miles away from memories of a dead staffer. Joe himself wrote the following in one of the many self-serving columns for the Independent Florida Sun, his now-defunct newspaper: "There is an old saying that warns that if you allow people to assume the worst, they will. So be it." Indeed. On May 29, 2003, Scarborough appeared on Don Imus's radio show. While complimenting Scarborough on his sense of humor, Imus said, "Don't be afraid to be funny, because you are funny. I asked you why you aren't in Congress. You said that you had sex with the intern, and then you had to kill her." Scarborough laughed and replied, "Yeah, well, what are you gonna do?"

9-11 widow questions why MSNBC host silenced her

Scarborough Country becomes “9-11 Spin Country” as Ellen Mariani says her microphone was abruptly shut off in the middle of her September 11 expose during an interview Monday night. U.S. intelligence sources say the national cover-up of the mysterious death of host Joe Scarborough’s former female congressional aide—found in his district office—is linked to why the truth about 9-11 was cut off by the MSNBC host
by Tom Flocco and Stew Webb

Ellen Mariani
Denver—December 8, 2005—StewWebb.com & TomFlocco.com—9-11 widow Ellen Mariani’s allegations of disrespect by the host Joe Scarborough during her MSNBC interview attempt to explain government involvement in the September 11 attacks raises questions as to whether the national cover-up of the dead body of Scarborough’s former 28-year-old female staffer found in his Fort Walton Beach, Florida congressional office in 2001 is linked to the MSNBC job protecting the public’s right to know—or preventing truth about 9-11 from becoming a factor in exposing White House crime family evidence.

After Mariani called us yesterday in dismay regarding how she was treated on-air by Scarborough, members of U.S. intelligence were contacted to find out why the normally affable Scarborough cut off Mariani’s comments about September 11 since she was the first victim family member to sue the Bush administration for direct involvement in the attacks—also refusing to join the other victim families in accepting millions in congressional “compensation” in return for signing a legal document promising never to sue the U.S. government or seek 9-11 criminal evidence in a courtroom.

Sources within United States intelligence Special Operations Group told us yesterday that former congressional staff aide Lori Kaye Klausutis was found dead at her desk in Scarborough’s office and that she had been reading secret explosive “True Colors” documents, raising questions as to how and why Scarborough was in possession of transcripts detailing illegal covert operations conducted by and linked directly to White House crime families.

U.S. intelligence officials were specific in their reports that “a P-2 team of three operatives from Central Intelligence suffocated her in Scarborough’s Florida district office recently after his divorce,” information blacked out by all U.S. national media outlets.

The source told us he would be willing to come forward at a later date if subpoenaed by the Fitzgerald grand jury or possibly appear on a major cable news outlet.
Intelligence officials said the top-secret True Colors files dealt with 1) government involvement in the 9-11 attacks, 2) White House-sponsored “death squads”—including state and local police known as “red squad” units also involving FBI Division 5 and other federal counter-intelligence groups within government agencies, 3) the Oklahoma City bombing and 4) evidence involving some 150 witnesses implicating former President George H. W. Bush, former President Bill and First Lady Hillary Clinton and then-Texas Governor George W. Bush and others in the assassination of John F. Kennedy Jr., who told family members he was planning to run against Hillary Clinton or George W. Bush in 2000. The agents said federal, state and local prosecutors were and still are being employed to frame innocent citizens on false charges to silence and neutralize patriot activists, whistleblowers and public officials.

Creating a cable news media spin doctor?
The strange death of Lori Klausutis received only a few short stories in the Northern Florida press; and the Washington Post printed only 44 words in a Nation-in-brief report dealing with the covered up and mysterious death of a female staffer in a Republican congressman’s district office—a story that shocked us after hearing about it from federal agents because the revelation was kept from the public. The 44 words released were:

"FORT WALTON BEACH, FL—Lori Klausutis, a 28-year-old office worker for Rep. Joe Scarborough (R-FL), was found dead in the congressman's district office. Police said preliminary findings from the medical examiner's office showed no foul play or any outward indication of suicide." Curiously, Klausutis was reportedly active in Florida’s Bush v. Gore 2000 election recount activity—raising questions about what she knew; and on Friday, July 20th, 2001, her body was found slumped next to a desk on the floor of Scarborough’s Fort Walton Beach office where Lori served as a constituent services coordinator since May, 1999. Klausutis was found around 8:00 a.m. on Friday morning by a couple arriving for an appointment, and she had been dead for some time as the police cordoned off the office for an investigation; but they later announced that there was no reason to suspect foul play, nor were there signs of suicide—but national news outlets commenced a total television blackout. Scarborough had recently resigned from Congress—prematurely and unexpectedly—on the heels of reported rumors about his marital fidelity and shortly after his marriage ended in divorce. Not choosing to bring to bear the substantial power of a U.S. congressional office to get to the bottom of Miss Klausutis’ death or force a full investigation given the secret documents to which she had access according to U.S. intelligence, Scarborough’s office released a short statement several hours after the discovery of her body: “My staff and family are greatly saddened by the loss of Lori Klausutis. I know Lori will be missed by the thousands of citizens who regularly contact my office to seek assistance with a variety of problems. May God grant Lori’s family the grace, comfort and hope that will get them through this difficult time.”

Intelligence “roster” of autopsy cover-up physicians and hit teams
Reports revealed that Scarborough’s press secretary Miguel Serrano mentioned health problems in Klausutis’ past and Associate Medical Examiner Dr. Michael Berkland said "She had a past medical history that was significant, but it remains to be seen whether that played a role in her death.” A member of her immediate family rejected the Scarborough office intimations that Lori had medical problems, reporting that Klausutis was a fine athlete, having recently run an 8 kilometer race with a good time as a member of the Northwest Florida Track Club. Dr. Michael Berkland, who found inconclusive results after performing the Klausutis autopsy, had recently relocated to Florida; and public reports reveal that Berkland's medical license in the state of Missouri was revoked in 1998 as a result of Berkland reporting false information regarding brain tissue samples in a 1996 autopsy report—charges that Berkland does not deny.A former agency official who spoke to us directly recognized the name of Dr. Michael Berkland and identified him as being “on the roster of secret CIA operatives used in sensitive and controversial deaths involving government officials to cover up evidence and keep families and American citizens from learning the truth about a loved one’s death,” cover-ups which can then be “employed to blackmail particular government officials involved.”

Berkland was also reportedly suspended from his position as a medical examiner in the state of Florida in July, 1999. According to an August 8, 2001 American Politics Journal (APJ) report, repeated requests to Dr. Stephen Nelson, Chairman of the Medical Examiners Commission, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, failed to verify that Dr. Berkland's suspension was lifted and that his license and disciplinary record were clear at the time of the Klausutis autopsy. Dr. Nelson was appointed Chairman of the Commission by Florida Governor Jeb Bush.Berkland acknowledged on Monday, August 6 according to APJ, that Lori had sustained a "scratch and a bruise" on her head and that his original denials were to prevent undue speculation about the cause of death. "The last thing we wanted was 40 questions about a head injury,” Berkland said.An August 29, 2001 report in the Northwest Florida Daily News revealed that “Klausutis’ head injury was more severe than previously reported,” raising additional obstruction of justice questions for any future grand jury probe. The same North Florida newspaper removed its September 1, 2001 story revealing that a “controversial autopsy report by ‘where’s the brain section’ Berkland raises more questions than it answers.” There are no indications why the report was removed. This, reminiscent of Arkansas medical examiner Dr. Fahmy Malak who was involved with the “dead boys on the railroad tracks” and other important autopsies involving suspicious and curious deaths during the Clinton gubernatorial administrations.

The long-time intelligence official who spoke with us about Dr. Michael Berkland also immediately recognized the name of Dr. Malak as “another one of the ‘roster’ doctors called in to cover up suspicious deaths involving high government officials,” raising more serious questions about similar deaths involving government physicians. The intelligence agent told us “these physicians are also known in our circles as ‘suicide doctors,’ employed to cover up government-sponsored murders of public officials, legislators, political candidates, whistleblowers, journalists and activists attempting to expose government corruption—in other words, orchestrating a ‘suicide’ to cover up ‘red squad’ hits.”Toxicology and pregnancy tests have been sealed by Florida authorities according to reports, which adds to speculation concerning why the national media blacked out coverage of the suspicious death of a young female congressional staff aide in the member’s own office.Interestingly, the Klausutis family refused to acknowledge the fact that their daughter knew or even worked for Scarborough for nearly three years as a congressional aide, leaving her important position of state-wide honor out of her obituary altogether. Moreover, as a high-profile deceased member of the Young Republicans of America national organization, a search of the Young Republicans web site found no mention of Lori or her contributions to the Florida Republican Party, nor any tribute to her memory, or comments about her passing, or position as Rep. Scarborough’s aide, also according to APJ.

Cutting off White House crime family involvement in 9-11
An NBC insider told U.S. intelligence yesterday that Scarbororgh was drinking heavily in the afternoon while complaints came in to MSNBC questioning his treatment of Mariani and his reasons for shutting off the widow’s microphone just as she was discussing 9-11 evidence never heard before during a national news broadcast in the United States. Ellen Mariani’s husband Neil was a passenger on United Airlines flight 175 that allegedly crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001—after which it was later reported by the Associated Press that the plane landed at the Cleveland-Hopkins, Ohio airport where the passengers were told that a bomb might be aboard the aircraft and that they were to be taken into the NASA Glen Research Center. It has further been reported that other 9-11 flights were taken to this clandestine government facility. Ellen was then asked by MSNBC host Joe Scarborough to express her opinion of the 9-11 Commission’s final report. When Scarborough asked Mariani what she thought of the 9-11 Commission’s report, she said, “1) 9-11 Report is nothing more than obstruction of justice and a continuous cover-up by the Bush administration, 2) 9-11 commissioners were all hand picked by Mr. Bush to obstruct justice and maintain a cover-up of the facts and the evidence, 3) The Bush crime family was behind the attack on America.” When the 9-11 widow started with “4) Lets talk about Able Danger, the scripted 9-11 attack on America, the Oklahoma City Bombing, with direct ties to the Philippines and Wachovia Bank--also known as Project Bojinka, and then, let’s connect the dots: Oklahoma City, 9-11 & Able Danger, Scarborough cut off Mariani’s mike, took the camera off her and never allowed her to complete her statements. Mariani referred to another Scarborough guest last night, Richard Miniter, as a professional presidential spin doctor who referred to Able Danger as a former operation to rid terrorists throughout the world, which Mariani maintains is not true.

Avoiding the 9-11 evidence factor
Mariani explained that she was about to expose and explain her 9-11 research to listeners before she was cut off by Scarborough—evidence that she had heard and learned about from federal whistleblowers Tom Heneghan and Stew Webb’s weekly American-French Alliance U.S. Intel News Hour on Thursday evenings from 8 to 9 PM Eastern, linked through www.stewwebb.com.She told us, “It is Joe's privilege as host to cut me off; but he did it before hearing the rest of the facts. How can Americans find the common sense and truth when I’m not allowed to speak out on what I know and believe it to be.”

The widow showed us her notes and went over what she was going to present on MSNBC Scarborough Country:
“Able Danger was the secretive bucket shop operation in Brooklyn, New York where alleged terrorist Mohamed Atta, a known Mossad-Defense Intelligence operative, had direct ties to the Bush-Clinton crime families.”

“The bucket shop was known as a cash cow linked to Maurice ‘Hank’ Greenberg, former CEO of AIG Insurance and the Greenburg-Traurig law firm. Mossad lobbyists and paymaster Jack Abramoff were partners with White House-linked money launderers Leonard & Elaine Millman who owned Silverado Savings where Neil Bush was a director of the failed Savings & Loan. Millman controlled CITI Group-CITI Bank before his death two years ago, and was a direct partner in re-insurance and securities fraud with Greenberg and Meyer Blinder also linked to a failed 1990-91 penny stock collapse during a federal investigation involving billions in securities fraud in Denver, Colorado.”

“New York Attorney General Elliott Spitzer, filed a RICO Suit against Greenberg instead of putting him in jail in 2005 after whistleblowers Stew Webb and Tom Heneghan provided evidence to Spitzer who then covered it up. But Greenberg had to resign as CEO of AIG to take the heat off of the connections to Greenberg-Traurig.”

“There is substantial evidence that the Greenberg-Traurig firm is connected to the challenge over control of my dead husband’s estate in order to silence my 9-11 RICO suit against the Bush crime family, several stories of which are found at TomFlocco.com.”

“Maurice Hank Greenberg controlled through Greenberg/Traurig a foundation known as the Waymark Group which was set up to finance the Oklahoma City bombing and the 9-11 attack on America. Silverado Savings and Loan owner Leonard Millman laundered narcotics money into the Waymark Group—and the narcotics were brought into Mena, Arkansas, a part of Iran contra which involved George H. W. Bush, Fox News Host Oliver North and Bill and Hillary Clinton.”

“Jack Abramoff had direct ties to Mohamed Atta and Florida casinos. One casino owner linked to the group was murdered. Abramoff was laundering money through the casinos and Mohammad Atta was seen gambling at the Florida casinos.”

“The information documents that Mohamed Atta was a Defense Intelligence Mossad agent were taken out of the national security archives by former Clinton National Security Advisor Sandy Burger with current Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's permission to steal the evidence.”

“Sandy Berger, Bill Clinton’s former NSA Director, took the Able Danger document evidence out of the National Archives and literally ate some of the documents, while stuffing some of the other documents in his underwear and socks. Burger was fined a few months ago and never sent to prison; but U.S. intelligence agents have concrete evidence of Berger’s actions—but he still got away with selling out America.”

“President Bush ordered the Washington, DC missile defense system to stand down in late July 2001. Bush also signed an executive order that told the FBI to back of their investigations of Muslims. The reason Mr. Bush told the FBI to allow the Brooklyn, New York bucket shop cell to operate as an active entity and not be apprehended was so the cell could carry out the planned 9-11-2001 attack on America.”

“FBI whistleblower Sibel Edmonds, who recently lost her certiorari appeal before the United States Supreme Court after having been ordered gagged by three Republican appeals court judges to help obstruct justice, intercepted the Turkish American Council communications of Defense Intelligence rogue agent Gary Best and others who were involved in the 9-11 attacks. Best was an Iran-contra Shadow Government player now in French custody for trying to blow up the French satellite launch pad in French Guyanna.”

“Other US intelligence agents also intercepted the Turkish American council communications when George H. W. Bush discussed the 9-11 attack on America. George H. W. Bush and Richard Cheney were 400 feet below ground in the White House situation room controlling the Justice Department Tripod II Brooklyn, New York bucket shop operation attacking America on 9-11-2001. This, while George W. Bush was reading a goat story in a Florida classroom, far away from the action—and why did he select a story about a goat?”

“Federal Whistleblower Karl Swartz's investigation revealed that missiles were retrofitted by Hughes Corp on one of their A-3 Airplanes at the Ft Collins Colorado Airport and that one of them was the missile that hit the Pentagon—not an airplane.”

“The warehouse was owned by several people including Maurice Hank Greenberg, former CEO of AIG Insurance, the largest U.S. insurance group allegedly linked to narcotics money laundering and re-insurance frauds, and connected to Leonard Millman's National Acceptance-First National Acceptance Company at 50 S. Steel, Denver Colorado.”
Ellen Mariani

“Whistleblowers Schwartz, Heneghan and Webb provided evidence to New York Attorney General Elliot Spitzer who continues the cover-up, which is obstruction of Justice.”

“Let’s look at the facts and evidence that friends of mine, federal whistleblowers and US intelligence agents have and want to present before a Federal Grand Jury and have filed in US DISTRICT COURT FOR THE DISTRICT OF COLORADO (in Denver) Case # 95-Y-107 Filed Aug. 4, 2004 by Stewart Webb.”

“My research found a number of 9-11 Commission" conflicts: Jamie Gorelick covered up Iraq-gate/BNL Bank/Gulf War Syndrome—the scandal which keeps changing names. Bob Kerry of Nebraska has been identified by U.S. intelligence as a pedophile and the Clintons have blackmailed him. Former New Jersey Governor Tom Kean had oil investments linked to both Bush and the bin Laden family but sold them just before being named chairman of the 9-11 Commission."

Ellen told us, “I was interviewed in May of 2002 by FOX News Network and their top spin doctor, Bill O'Reilly. O'Reilly and Joe Scarborough are nothing more than little boys doing an adult job as spin doctors for the Bushes; and Americans know this,” adding, “I finally realize that the major media in America is nothing but a cover-up machine for the Bush-Clinton crime families.”

Sadly, Mariani told us, “On September 11, I not only lost my husband Neil, but I lost my country as well—especially my freedom of speech and my rights in the federal judicial system.”

The 9-11 widow’s distasteful experience on Scarborough Country and facts uncovered by U.S. intelligence regarding explosive documents in Scarborough’s possession—linked to his congressional aide—raise questions as to whether there is more to this story than meets the eye, the paucity of national media coverage notwithstanding.

“The American people will have to decide whether the potential to blackmail a U.S. congressman with the power to a) send our children to war based on lies, b) allow our pension funds to be stolen or c) bribe 9-11 victims so they promise never to sue the government for the facts is more important than a potentially compromised national cable news host with the power to cut off my microphone before I expose the Bush administration’s involvement in the death of my husband,” said the 9-11 widow.

Wasn't YWAM the group that the one kid in Colorado who was obsessed with the occult went nuts and started shooting up a church.

He was the one that got shot and killed by their armed security guard.

Another link perhaps....

Dr. Nelson was appointed Chairman of the Commission by Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

Berkland acknowledged on Monday, August 6 according to APJ, that Lori had sustained a "scratch and a bruise" on her head and that his original denials were to prevent undue speculation about the cause of death. "The last thing we wanted was 40 questions about a head injury,” Berkland said.

Thanks for bringing up another unsolved Bush mystery.

Jeb! Bush covered up Joe Scarborough murder of Lori Klausutis

Why has Lori Klausutis' Death Been Swept Under the Rug?

This article is the first in a series on t r u t h o u t which will present the known facts and raise some questions about this strange and tragic case.

Part I: Congressional Aide Found Dead in Congressman's Office
By Jennifer Van Bergen

t r u t h o u t | January 4, 2001 - Remember the news back in July that Lori Klausutis, an aide to U.S. Representative Joe Scarborough (R-FL), was found dead in the congressman's District Office in Fort Walton Beach, Florida?

If you don't, that's because the news came and went in the blink of an eye.

Wait. Did you get that? A congressman's aide. Dead. In the congressman's office. No witnesses.
And the media were all but silent.

While the Condit/Levy story ran rampant in the national press for weeks on end, the Scarborough/Klausutis story got barely nine lines in the Associated Press and only one line in The Washington Post.
Does it make you wonder?

Wait until you hear the rest of the story. It has all the elements of a good murder mystery.

* The congressman (an ardent and vocal supporter of G.W., by the way) resigns only six months after re-election, just prior to his aide's death. The reason: amid rumors of marital infidelity, the recently-divorced husband wants to spend more time with his sons.

* A medical examiner who had his license revoked in another state. Why? He lost it falsifying autopsies.

* The medical examiner's supervisor had contributed thousands of dollars to the congressman's election campaign.

* Contradictory reports about whether there is a visible head injury or not.

* A medical conclusion that contains several inconsistencies. First, that Mrs. Klausutis, who was a marathon runner, died of a cardiac arryhthmia. Second, that although she had suffered a fractured skull and a "contracoup" bruise on the opposite side of the brain, the injury could not possibly have been caused by a physical assault.

* Then there's the question of whether the office was locked and the lights were on. One report says the door was locked and the lights were off; another report says the door was unlocked and the lights were on.

* And if all this weren't enough, there's the scientist husband who does high level weapon design work for the Air Force.

These are only the more obvious elements of the case. And this is not newsworthy enough for the press?

To be fair, the local press, the Northwest Florida Daily News, thought it was newsworthy for a few weeks. They published several short but good pieces and made a public records request for the police and medical reports. However, after the paper published the autopsy findings -- which concluded that Lori Klausutis fainted, fell and hit her head on the desk -- which effectively closed the police investigation, the paper had little more to go on. Furthermore, some local citizens accused the paper of "sensationalizing" the story. So, the story died.

In fact, however, the news stayed alive on various message boards on the internet and two intrepid journalists did do some excellent research which was published online, but amazingly, no major paper or television network even mentioned the story. Why?

That question is perhaps unaswerable. But it should be raised, along with all the many other questions that arise in this case. This series intends to review the facts and raise these questions.

"Absolutely no evidence of foul play"

Mrs. Klausutis was found dead in Rep. Joe Scarborough's Fort Walton Beach office at about 8:10 a.m. on July 20 by Juanita and Andreas Bergmann, who claim they had an appointment that morning with Rep. Scarborough to facilitate Mr. Bergmann's application for a green card. Mr. Scarborough, however, was still in Washington, D.C. and flew home only later that day.

The day after Mrs. Klausutis was found, the police said there was no evidence of "foul play or trauma to her body." The following day, having performed his autopsy and while waiting for the results of blood tests, Dr. Michael Berkland, the medical examiner, told the press that there was "absolutely no evidence" that Lori was "a victim of 'foul play.'" By July 26, although Berkland had still not received the toxicology results, which he noted would likely play a key role in determining whether Ms. Klausutis had died of natural causes or accidentally, Berkland stated that he had "ruled out homicide." While he said he didn't think that suicide was a likely scenario either, he stated that he was also investigating it as a possibility.

Finally, on August 6, Berkland released the autopsy. Oddly, although the police had originally stated that there were no signs of trauma, Berkland acknowledged that Klausutis had sustained a "scratch and bruise" on her head which had been noted in the original death investigation. His explanation for having lied to the press was to "prevent undue speculation" about the cause of death.

Berkland determined that Lori, an avid runner who ran fivemiles a day, had a prolapsed mitral valve which caused a sudden cardiac arrhythmia -- an irregular heartbeat -- which in turn caused Lori to faint "in midstride," and hit her head on the desk. How Berkland came up with this theory is unknown since the medical report contains no description of the death scene, no diagram of the location of the body, or its posture or appearance as Berkland first observed it on the morning of July 20th..

Early on in the investigation, there were rumors that Ms. Klausutis had suffered from previous health problems, but her family issued a statement contradicting this.

Thus, in the very first chapter of this story, several questions arise. How could a healthy, physically fit, 28-year-old woman suddenly "faint" of a previously undetected heart problem? How could the police, with no witnesses, and knowing from the outset that Ms. Klausustis had sustained a bruise to the head, determine that there was no evidence of an attack? If Rep. Scarborough had an appointment with the Bergmann's, why was he still in Washington, D.C.? Or was he? Why did the police and medical examiner lie to the public about the existence of visible signs of head trauma? They lied to the public so easily. Could they have lied about other things, as well? Given their later reluctance to pursue the case or release any information whatsoever about it, this lie may indicate a less-than-honest handling of the case.

Murder-Suicide Claims Prominent GOP Strategist; Gaydars Going Wild
Trish | Aug. 24, 2007

Ralph Gonzalez, a former executive director of the Georgia GOP while Ralph Reed was its chair, was found shot to death yesterday with two other men in a home he with shared with one of them in Orlando.

Gonzalez was among the three people found inside the home, and their bodies may have been inside since Tuesday, authorities said.

“The third person was the shooter. He shot my son first and then shot David and then killed himself,” Eva Gonzalez said.

A prominent Republican Party consultant is one of three men found dead in a Central Florida home Thursday in an apparent double murder-suicide possibly sparked by a lovers’ quarrel, according to detectives

The home where the deaths occurred was also listed as the headquarters of the Strategum Group, a Republican consulting firm whose clients include Jack Abramoff-linked U.S. Rep. Tom Feeney (R-Fla.).

The other victims were identified as David Abrami and Robert Drake. Gonzalez lived in the home with Abrami, and Drake was a former roommate who was visiting from out of town.

“(It was) horrible. I can’t believe he lied in there, and the more I see all that blood, it was sickening. Why would anybody want to shoot my boy?” Eva Gonzalez said.

The police have an answer for that, Mrs. G. but you might not like it.

A prominent Republican Party consultant is one of three men found dead in a Central Florida home Thursday in an apparent double murder-suicide possibly sparked by a lovers’ quarrel, according to detectives…

“We are working it as a homicide, but there is some early evidence to suggest that this may in fact be a murder-suicide,” Orange County sheriff’s Sgt. Allen Lee said.

Reed himself, the former head of the Christian Coalition, also flies under the gaydar in Republican conservative circles. If he’s not gay, he fooled me.

Our sympathy goes out to family members of the three men, along with our hope that you will have answers soon and that you will make your peace with whatever they turn out to be.

Christian YWAM $$$ behind PT911 (The Path to 9-11),(UPDATED)

by bewert
Christian YWAM $$$ behind PT911 (UPDATED)   Fri Sep 08, 2006 at 10:33:35 AM PDT
The $40M question that's been bugging me has been "who paid for this crapola?" And I think I've found the answer.

It's the Christian organization Youth With A Mission (YWAM), through their auxiliary - The Film Institute (TFI). Loren Cunningham, the founder of YWAM, is the father of PT911 director David Cunningham.

Follow me over the flip for more stuff!

bewert's diary :: ::
I was led to this by a comment from everhopeful and I am ever hopeful we can shitcan this crapola hit piece.

YWAM members Mark and Krista Harris commented on their website:

As we have looked around, we've noticed a lot of big-mouthed giants running around, but not many young warriors brave enough to stake everything on God.

So that's what we've decided to do. Starting in July, along with our 'normal' discipleship efforts in YWAM, we will officially join The Film Institute - a new auxiliary branch of Youth With A Mission focused on tranforming film and television from the inside out. TFI's first project is a doozy: simply being referred to as: The Untitled History Project, it is already being called the television event of the decade and not one second has been put to film yet. Talk about great expectations!

Our goal is to help filmmakers, actors, technicians, etc. realize their God given potential and purpose in perhaps the most influential sphere of modern culture - film and television.
The "Untitled History Project" was the working title, as this Fox story shows. It was produced by in Toronto by UHP Productions. This quote from writer Cyrus Nowrasteh is particularly rich:"Anything about 9/11 will be controversial," he said. "I commend ABC because they have continually asked me to be as truthful and honest as I can be. The producers have made every effort to be objective and tell the story truthfully -- because that's what the subject matter, and our audience, deserves." This article from Hamilton (a city near Toronto) even has the publicists phone number:UHP Productions Ltd.
Contact Phone: (416)778-8454
And from the site YWAM Founders Site we get:Mark Harris spoke following Braulia and showed a DVD clip by film director David L.  Cunningham, who together with others has formed a YWAM auxiliary called The Film Institute (TFI).

One goal of TFI is to fast-track UofN School of Digital Film interns, placing them within the film industry, not to give them jobs, but so that they can begin to impact and transform Hollywood from the inside out.
I'm trying to dig up more, but a lot has been scrubbed...thank god for Google!

UPDATE: Whoa, this took off. Just got back from a ton of errands.

NOTE: I don't think YWAM funded this whole thing. I think they funded TFI, which provided seed money and initial production on the project. Then they probably went searching for big Christian funders (of which there are many) and started looking for an place to show it.

Questions I still have: 1) How far along was it when ABC got involved? 2) Who are the big funders?

Marc Platt, the Executive Producer, probably knows a lot about both these questions as well as David Cunningham.

OK, I'm getting my leash yanked back into honey-do land, so keep up the good work. I am planning to go to Crater Lake NP this weekend, so if anyone wants to put together all the goodies in the comments and do an updated diary about this tomorrow, please do :) I'm not sure how much net access I'll have.

Subject: Watch “Path to 9/11″
To:

Dear Friends,

Please see the following link and spread the word to watch the movie I directed - THE PATH TO 9/11 on ABC – September 10th and 11th. It is a multi part film – not a documentary - on the events leading up to 9/11. It is told from the CIA, FBI, White House and terrorists perspective and based upon the 9/11 Commission Report.

It is starring Harvey Keitel, Patricia Heaton, Donnie Whalberg and a fantastic cast of almost 250 actors from 14 countries. We filmed in Toronto, Morocco, New York, Washington D.C., and one of only a few films ever to be allowed to film at the CIA headquarters at Langley. I have spend a year and half working on this show along with an amazing team of filmmakers.

We need your help to spread the word as there are so many 9/11 TV shows out there. Please send this to everyone you know and be sure to check out the link. Together we can make this a cultural even that will impact the nation.

Thanks a bunch,

David

The 1980s witnessed a major covert pedophilia network operating inside the Reagan-Bush administration. This editor worked as an undercover special agent for the FBI and Naval Investigative Service in 1982 and helped expose a pedophilia network that was later reported by the FBI to reach "all the way into the White House." In the Navy, the pedophile network was facilitated by a Christian group known as the Officers' Christian Fellowship (OCF).

Today, the OCF has strong connections to the Arlington, Virginia- based Fellowship Foundation (as does almost every group that has the word "Fellowship" in its name), a wealthy group of lobbyists and politicians, who support mostly Republicans. However, Hillary Clinton is on record stating that the Fellowship's leader, Douglas Coe, is her "spiritual mentor."

In fact, a principal indicted and convicted in the Navy pedophile scandal stated that the group he represented consisted of "lawyers, judges, clergymen, high-ranking military officers, politicians, and other important people" who looked out for one another because what they were involved in required the ultimate "trust," that all stood on the edge of being discovered and prosecuted.

A documentary on the Franklin cover-up was spiked by the Discovery Channel after pressure was brought to bear on the cable network by powerful GOP political forces linked to the sex scandal. The major reporters for the Washington Times who uncovered the sex scandal continue to stand by their story.

For the last two decades, a Virginia mansion has been a private hideaway for world leaders, members of Congress, and even pop star Michael Jackson.

Located on a quiet residential street, the $4.4-million estate called Cedars sits at the highest point of the Potomac River, with spectacular views of Washington beyond the pool and tennis courts. It is owned by the Fellowship, the nonpartisan Christian group that sponsors the National Prayer Breakfast.

While the annual breakfast is a widely known event attended by a succession of U.S. presidents and foreign dignitaries, the Fellowship's part in the breakfast is low-key. Most attendees think the event is sponsored by Congress or even the president. Likewise, the Fellowship's role in diplomacy and current events has remained in the shadows. That's the way the organization wants it, for philosophical and practical reasons.

Re- the secretive group "The Family":
Podcast from veteran Australian radio host, Phillip Adams....16 June 2008

"Many of us will have heard something about the annual National Prayer Breakfasts held in Washington D.C. where American politicians, both Democratic and Republican, and other invited guests get together and pray. The President is always the last to speak at these breakfasts.

What many of us won't know is that these Breakfasts are one of the only publicised events of a group known as The Family or the Fellowship. The Family isn't exactly a secret religious sect or cult, but its members do believe that the more invisible they are, the more influential they will become."

Lawsuit claims private school should have stopped a teacher's sex abuse

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A lawsuit claims that a church-operated school was negligent in not preventing or stopping abuse by a former teacher.

The lawsuit was filed in Tulsa County District Court against Grace Fellowship Church, Grace Christian School and related entities.

The lawsuit involves the case of Aaron Thompson, now 32, who pleaded guilty in 2003 to 16 counts of lewd molestation and two counts of sexually abusing a child. In a plea deal, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison plus 15 years of probation.

The charges involved nine boys and covered a time frame from 1997 to March 2002. The boys ranged in age from 7 to 13 or 14.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of a woman and her teenage son who was allegedly sexually abused while a student at Grace.

Christian Fellowship House, Or Den of Adulterous Hedonidsm? Reconstitution 2.0 - 17 July 2009

I’m really starting to wonder just how much depravity goes in in that so-called “Christian Fellowship House” in DC where the leading lights of Jesusistani politics in America room with each other.

First, there was John Ensign, who screwed around on his wife, and then had to go get his mommy and daddy to pay her hush money so people wouldn’t find out that he’s a hypocritical piece of shit (THAT worked out well, didn’t it?) And of course, there’s Governor “Randy Sandy” Sanford of South Carolina, who decided to just disappear for a few days so he could go diddle-diddle with his babe on the side down in Buenos Aires.

Now comes news of another former resident of that den of sin and HIS dalliances.

If you’re not familiar with Mr. Chip Pickering of Mississippi, let me give you a brief background sketch. In his 12 years as a Congressman from Mississippi, Jesusistan, Pickering was a stalwart crusader against anything not Jesus. This guy had his nose in every piece of antiporn legislation that got anywhere near Congress. He might have had his nose in righteous legislarion, but as you can see, other parts of his body were .

The estranged wife of former Rep. Chip Pickering (W-Jesusistan.), who served 12 years in Congress before retiring in January, has filed a lawsuit against his alleged mistress, claiming their adulterous relationship ruined the Pickerings' marriage and his political career. Leisha Pickering is suing Elizabeth Creekmore Byrd, her husband's alleged mistress, for alienation of affection.

The Pickerings filed for divorce last year, but the case is not yet final. Leisha Pickering says in her lawsuit that Creekmore Byrd originally “met and had a romantic relationship with Pickering which ended prior to their college graduation. The Pickerings were married after that, but Leisha Pickering now says that, unknown to her, “Creekmore Byrd for a number of years met and rekindled her relationship with Pickering.” Leisha Pickering charges that the adulterous relationship between her husband and Creekmore Byrd ended both their marriages.

Leisha Pickering alleges that Creekmore Byrd's” extramarital relationship” with Chip Pickering began again while he “was a United States Congressman prior to and while living in the well known C Street Complex in Washington, D.C.”

Chip Pickering, like Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) and South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, have lived in a Christian fellowship home on C Street.

Both Ensign and Sanford have been the subjects of adultery scandals in recent weeks. Ensign had an eight-month affair with a former campaign aide, Cindy Hampton, and he resigned his leadership post after admitting to the relationship. Sanford secretly left the United States to met his Argentine mistress, setting off a national furor over his disappearance.

Again, I ask: WHAT THE HELL is going on in that place? By all appearances, Pickering was doing his sinning trollop right in that holy building, flagrantly middle0fingering his God (and his mistress) right under the nose of His Most Godly and Righteous Self, Tom Coburn! Are there no stones in that area suitable for punishing these sinners? Does Coburn have a weak arm that leaves him unable to execute the necessary punishments?

Or is it what I have always thought it is; as in, the louder you proclaim your fealty to Jesus, the harder you’re trying to distract us from seeing what you’re REALLY up to?

I think the answer couldn’t be clearer. Don’t you?
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole ; He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. - Job 5

I have to say that the portrayal of YWAM as an "extremely secretive cult-like organization" is way over the top.
This is an example of a news article being used to support a particular theory WRONGLY.

You don't have to be a Christian yourself, nor even support missionary activity in order to write
an objective fair piece. Which this is not (in terms of its portrayal of YWAM)

Youth with a Mission is an evangelical missionary organization and the people involved have no secret agenda, other than to share a message
that they believe is the most important one in the world. They are motivated by concern and love for others. They had a prayer station in NYC after 9/11. I actually stopped there. Someone gave me a hug and prayed for me. I appreciated it.

I applied to go to a DTS- it is a bible school for future missionaries- that's about it. Their mission, message and way they operate is pretty straight forward.  You can go to their website and read for yourselves. I am not agreeing with all of their doctrine necessarily, but a false witness must be opposed.

EXPOSE: THE "CHRISTIAN" MAFIA

On February 3, 2005 thousands of politicians, businessmen, and religious figures gathered at the Washington Hilton Hotel for the 53rd National Prayer Breakfast. Through the years, many of the attendees mistakenly believed the event has been sponsored by the White House. In reality, the breakfast is organized by the shadowy and powerful Fellowship Foundation, an organization that was founded by pro-Nazis before World War II.

The "Fellowship" is a transnational group that has its tentacles in governments and multinational corporations around the world. Its international power is demonstrated by the world leaders who annually flock to Washington to "pray" with the President of the United States. In attendance this year were President Ricardo Maduro of Honduras, who is backed by his country's large evangelical movement, and President Marc Ravalomanana, of Madagascar, who is, himself, an evangelical Christian.

Where Those Who Now Run the U.S. Government Came From and Where They Are Taking Us

By Wayne Madsen

Part I

After several months of in-depth research and, at first, seemingly unrelated conversations with former high-level intelligence officials, lawyers, politicians, religious figures, other investigative journalists, and researchers, I can now report on a criminal conspiracy so vast and monstrous it defies imagination. Using "Christian" groups as tax-exempt and cleverly camouflaged covers, wealthy right-wing businessmen and "clergy" have now assumed firm control over the biggest prize of all – the government of the United States of America. First, some housekeeping is in order. My use of the term "Christian" is merely to clearly identify the criminal conspirators who have chosen to misuse their self-avowed devotion to Jesus Christ to advance a very un-Christian agenda. The term "Christian Mafia" is what several Washington politicians have termed the major conspirators and it is not intended to debase Christians or infer that they are criminals . I will also use the term Nazi – not for shock value – but to properly tag the political affiliations of the early founders of the so-called "Christian" power cult called the Fellowship. The most important element of this story is that a destructive religious movement has now achieved almost total control over the machinery of government of the United States – its executive, its legislature, several state governments, and soon, the federal judiciary, including the U.S. Supreme Court.

EXPOSE: THE "CHRISTIAN" MAFIA (PART 2)
Wednesday, December 27 2006 @ 07:10 PM CST

John Hinckley and Neil Bush both lived in Lubbock, Texas during 1978. Neil was in Lubbock to work as manager for his brother George’s 1978 congressional campaign. Also in Lubbock was John Hinckley, Jr., who lived there since 1974.
...
The senior Hinckley had been involved with World Vision, a Christian evangelical association involved with a number of covert U.S. intelligence operations abroad. Like the Fellowship, World Vision acted as a Trojan horse for U.S. intelligence and business interests in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War and Central America during the illegal U.S. support for the Nicaraguan contras. In fact, a number of World Vision officials, including two of its presidents, have been core members of the Fellowship. World Vision continues to involve itself in such hot spots as Iraq and Congo. According to Jeff Sharlet’s 2003 article in Harper’s, Coe admitted to having a close relationship with Nicaraguan President Anastasio Somoza Debayle, the dictator the Sandinistas overthrew in 1979. While the senior Hinckley headed up World Vision, one of its youthful volunteers was Mark David Chapman, also a native of Texas. He would later assassinated ex-Beatle John Lennon on a New York City street. Like John W. Hinckley, Jr., another right-wing would-be assassin and busboy was Arthur Herman Bremer from Milwaukee.
...
Part II

The Cedars of Arlington

In 1976, the Fellowship began looking for a permanent headquarters in Arlington. It set its sights on the estate of George Mason IV, The Cedars, located at 2301 North Uhle Street. Mason was one of the drafters of the Bill of Rights. The Fellowship, also known as the International Foundation, bought the property from Charles Piluso. Although not much is known about Piluso, the Los Angeles Times reported that Howard Hughes, the man with whom Fellowship Senator Ralph Owen Brewster once sparred, also lived there. According to a senior Pentagon official, the Cedars had been used as a CIA safe house prior to the Fellowship’s purchase of the estate. The Fellowship paid $1.5 million for the Cedars, the money coming from Tom Phillips, the CEO of Raytheon, and Ken Olsen, the CEO of Digital Equipment Corporation. Sanford McDonnell of McDonnell Douglas Corporation was another deep-pocketed supporter of the Fellowship through Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International, an activity linked to Fellowship core member Pat Robertson.
...

The Fellowship certainly did not mind when singer Michael Jackson stayed with his children at the Cedars in October 2001 when he was in Washington for a benefit concert for the 911 victims. In a lawsuit filed in 1993, Jackson was accused of sexually molesting a 13-year-old boy. According to a September 27, 2002 Los Angeles Times article by Lisa Getter, Jackson’s stay at the Cedars was arranged through David Kuo, George W. Bush’s White House director of the Office of Faith-based Initiatives. Kuo, a former CIA employee who co-wrote a book with Ralph Reed, had been Executive Director of the Center for Effective Compassion, founded in 1995 by Arianna Huffington and Marvin Olasky. Olasky is a Jewish convert to evangelical Christianity, a major Christian reconstructionist proponent, and an ardent supporter of George W. Bush. Kuo also previously worked for the Christian Coalition and Senator John Ashcroft.

After the Navy’s cover-up of the Frawley and other related criminal cases, the Operations Officer used his Washington, DC base to expose the matter to the public. He received warnings from other active duty and retired Navy personnel that his activities were "embarrassing" to the Navy and that there would be professional and "other consequences" if he did not desist.

The cover-up went to the highest echelons of the Navy’s command structure and included Secretary of the Navy John Lehman, the man whose obfuscation abilities would be used to cover-up the gun turret explosion on board the USS Iowa battleship, the tail hook scandal involving naval aviators, and, ultimately, the 911 attacks when he was named as a member of the 911 Commission by George W. Bush.

In the interest of full disclosure, it must be stated that this author was the Operations Officer referenced above. A few years after the Navy-OCF child porn incident, a huge political scandal surfaced in Nebraska where it was learned that Lawrence King, the convicted head of Franklin Community Credit Union and a rising African American star in the GOP (he sang the national anthem at George H. W. Bush’s 1988 nominating convention in New Orleans), was a kingpin, along with top Republicans in Nebraska and Washington, DC, in a child prostitution and child porn scandal. The scandal, investigated by Nebraska State Senator Loran Schmit, his assistant John DeCamp (a former GOP State Senator), State Senate Committee investigator Gary Caradori, and former CIA Director William Colby, reached the very top echelons of the George H. W. Bush administration and GOP.

Child prostitutes from Boys Town and other orphanages in Nebraska as well as children procured from China were flown to Washington for sexcapades with Republican politicians. GOP lobbyist Craig Spence and a number of GOP officials in the administration and Congress were tagged as involved, along with a shadowy group called "The Finders." Young male members of the military in Washington were highly sought after by the prostitution ring. The scandal was also covered up on orders from the highest levels of power in the Bush White House. Caradori and his young son were killed in a suspicious plane crash in Illinois in 1990.

Colby was found floating in the Chesapeake near his home in 1996. Craig Spence committed suicide in 1989. He was reportedly distressed after his diagnosis with AIDS. Witnesses, many of whom were, themselves, abused, were intimidated and jailed in Nebraska and the investigation of the child molestation scandal eventually collapsed.

The entire military aspect of the King-Spence scandal would be repeated in February 2005, when it was discovered that a "reporter" for Talon News Service, an operation funded by the Republican GOPUSA.com, was using an alias as a "White House reporter." James D. Guckert, using the name Jeff Gannon and possibly other aliases, was also running gay porn sites that targeted military members. White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan said he did not realize Gannon was using an alias. However, rumors in the gay community began circulating about McClellan frequenting gay bars in Austin, Texas. A senior source on the Washington Times editorial staff (the same paper that broke the GOP pedophile scandal in 1989) also linked White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove to similar gay activities involving top Republican political strategists in Washington, DC. McClellan’s father, Barr, had earlier written a book suggesting that President Kennedy was assassinated on orders from Vice President Lyndon Johnson, a clever ruse to take the heat off of George H. W. Bush. McClellan’s publisher, Hannover House in New York, counts WalMart as its biggest client. GOPUSA.com is run by a right-wing Texan and Bush friend named Bobby Eberle. In 2003, GOPUSA.com launched a vicious anti-Semitic attack against international financier George Soros, a leading philanthropist for progressive causes and a major contributor to the Democratic Party.

In 2004, "Jeff Gannon" was a featured speaker at a Capitol Hill bible reading sponsored by anti- abortion Operation Rescue head Reverend Rob Schenck. In 1995, Schenk was the spokesman for the Fellowship-related American Center for Law and Justice, an anti-abortion group funded by Pat Robertson. Schenck was also a major supporter of former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore, who was removed from office for refusing to comply with a Federal court order. Rob Schenck's twin brother, Paul, is the chairman of the fundamentalist group Faith and Action and the anti-abortion National Pro-Life Action Center. Both groups have close links to the Fellowship members on Capitol Hill.
...
Consolidating Fellowship Power

As with any "army," in this case a Christian army, the Fellowship lost no time in establishing both physical and political bridgeheads in the United States and abroad. First, the Fellowship ensured that its new fortress, "The Cedars," was well protected. Through a variety of incorporated foundations, the Fellowship masked its various real estate investments through various entities, including the Fellowship Foundation, the Wilberforce Foundation, and two used by the Fellowship in the past: Kresage Foundation and Tregaron Foundation. Kresage, at one time, appeared to have links to the Billy Graham Evangelical Association. Tregaron was used in 1975 by the Fellowship and President Ford to search for a purchase a mansion for the Vice President. Ford was significantly closer to the Fellowship than was his predecessor, Nixon. The purchase of a Vice Presidential mansion was no longer necessary when Vice President Nelson Rockefeller moved into the former mansion for the Chief of Naval Operations at the Naval Observatory – it has been the home of the Vice President ever since.

According to the minutes of the District of Columbia’s Advisory Neighborhood Commission 3-C dated January 26, 2004, there is 20 acres of property in Northwest Washington known as the "Tregaron property." There were plans to sell the property for the construction of 16 houses, a plan that was opposed by the Cleveland Park Citizens Association ("CPCA") and Friends of Tregaron that wanted the land preserved as a national historic site. It is near this property that the Klingle Mansion is located. It is noteworthy that records indicate that intern Chandra Levy may have gone to the mansion to meet someone before she was murdered.

THE SENATOR’S SCANDAL : Behind the closed doors on C Street

The Family — which has counseled Sen. John Ensign — lives and prays as a fundamentalist group with power at the center of its agenda

The Political Enclave That Dare Not Speak Its Name
The Sanford and Ensign Scandals Open a Door On Previously Secretive 'C Street' Spiritual Haven
Mentioned during Gov. Mark Sanford's news conference as the site of "a Christian Bible study," this home in Southeast is the residence of congressmen including Sen. John Ensign, who last week admitted to an affair. (By Bill O'leary -- The Washington Post)

By Manuel Roig-Franzia Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, June 26, 2009

No sign explains the prim and proper red brick house on C Street SE.

Nothing hints at its secrets.

It blends into the streetscape, tucked behind the Library of Congress, a few steps from the Cannon House Office Building, a few more steps to the Capitol. This is just the way its residents want it to be. Almost invisible.

But through one week's events, this stately old pad -- a pile of sturdy brick that once housed a convent -- has become the very nexus of American scandal, a curious marker in the gallery of capital shame. Mark Sanford, South Carolina's disgraced Republican governor and a former congressman, looked here for answers -- for support, for the word of God -- as his marriage crumbled over his affair with an Argentine woman.  John Ensign, the senator from Nevada who just seven days earlier also was forced to admit a career-shattering affair, lives there.

"C Street," Sanford said Wednesday during his diffuse, cryptic, utterly arresting confessional news conference, is where congressmen faced "hard questions."

A prominent Republican Party consultant is one of three men found dead in a Central Florida home Thursday in an apparent double murder-suicide possibly sparked by a lovers’ quarrel, according to detectives.

Considering Dave Abrami
August 27, 2007 by cavman
...
I knew Dave Abrami, but not well.  We both attended Orangewood PCA Church at the same time.  We were in different Bible studies, but had lots of mutual friends and spent time talking on trips and at get togethers.  We had similar religious backgrounds.  Dave was a born lawyer.  You couldn’t spend much time with him and not know that was what he was born to do.  He had a sharp and quick mind.

Police: Ex-Marine killed consultants, self Jason Drake's motive remains unclear, they say
August 28, 2007

A former U.S. Marine shot and killed two political consultants before killing himself last week but investigators still cannot say why, the Orange County Sheriff's Office announced Monday.

Forensic evidence identified Jason Drake as the killer of Republican strategists Rafael "Ralph" Gonzalez and David Abrami, sheriff's Cmdr. Joe Picanzo said.
...
Drake, who served in Kosovo with the Marines in 1999, will be buried Sunday or Monday in Rutherfordton, N.C.

"He'll be buried in the family plot where the soldiers in our family have been buried since the Revolutionary War," said his aunt, Cynthia VanDriessche.

McHenry’s office admits tie to murder/suicide shooter
By Drama Queen

The story of the Florida double murder and suicide of three Republican activists with ties to McHenry gets stranger and stranger every day. We were the first to report off-the-record sources tying McHenry to victim and dirty-tricks operative Ralph Gonzalez.
...
-----
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/howie-klein
There is every indication that McHenry may have been one of the Republican elected officials who was using the services of the gay prostitution agency connected to Drake. Our pals over at the BradBlog points out the connections between Florida’s ultra-corrupt, vote-tampering congressman, Tom Feeney, and Gonzalez and reports the threat to expose the list of Republican elected officials who were using the gay escort service.
...
Again, this story is so bizarre. I can’t reiterate enough the oddity of the police comments. They originally said that the murder/suicide was the result of a lover’s triangle. Now, they’re saying

“What prompted him to go in and commit that crime remains undetermined and may never be known,” Picanzo said. “We have had so many different and conflicting statements from people.”

Since when do the police say the crime motive will never been known this early in an investigation? It makes no sense.

Damon Kruezer, a blogger who covers the gay porn industry, has written repeatedly that Jason Drake was attempting to blackmail the murder victims Gonzalez for money to pay for the legal case of his supposed lover, Harlow Cuadra.

I have heard off-the-record sources confirm that it is true. Howie Klein has the same information I do and continues to post that McHenry and Drake were lovers.
...
And let’s not forget that, more importantly, Gonzalez, who was out to his friends, had ties to Ralph Reed when he took over the Georgia Republican Party and used unethical tactics to beat Senator Max Cleland. He was also the campaign chair for the ethically-challenged Tom Feeney’s congressional campaign as well as his state rep campaign after which Feeney became house speaker and got involved in a software-buying scandal involving Yang Enterprise. Feeney is best known for his vote-rigging scheme (which has ties to an unexplained death of a Florida state investigator in Valdosta GA), Jack Abramoff, and a variety of unethical smear tactics against Democratic candidates.

Meanwhile, others are still looking for the tie between Drake and the Pennsylvania porn murder trial. I have other sources who say McHenry has ties to organized homosexual predatory behavior. Nothing on this particular gay escort service out of Norfolk/Virginia Beach.

Murder Mystery: What's the Motive?
 donna | 10/27/2007 2:25 pm | Daily Briefing

Two months ago Jason Robert Drake, 30, shot and killed roommates Ralph Gonzales and David Abrami, both 36, in Orlando, Florida. Police say he then turned the gun on himself. The Orlando police have so much conflicting information they say they may never find the motive. As I read the stories of their connections, it seems as if I'm reading a real page-turner of a mystery novel, and I'd like to know how the story ends. Meanwhile, it's fun to speculate. What was the motive?

David Abrami was an attorney who, as Vice President of the Central Florida Young Republicans, came to the attention of the Secret Service for organizing a fundraiser that charged people for the privilege of shooting at photos of Bill Clinton. Other than this, he has a background that is not notable. However, his former business partner, Doug Guetzloe, is quite a shady character. Guetzloe is a conservative talk show host on Fox Radio and head of an Orlando anti-tax group. He has been jailed for extortion and election law violations and was recently indicted for perjury. Guetzlowe left boxes of files behind in a storage unit. They were auctioned off and ultimately landed in the hands of Orlando's Channel 6. Prosecutors now are suing to get these files because they contain evidence of crimes, as shown by Channel 6's series on Guetzlowe. As an attorney, Guetzlowe also represented strip clubs and Congressman Tom Feeney.

The second victim, Ralph Gonzales, was a political consultant for Republican candidates. Although he was a gay man, his claim to fame was the anti-gay marriage Adam and Steve ad campaign. Gonzales was the executive director of Georgia's Republican Party at the same time that Ralph Reed was the state party's chair and executive director of the Christian Coalition. Reed is under FBI investigation for his role in the Jack Abramoff affair. (Abramoff is currently in federal prison after pleading guilty to fraud, conspiracy and tax evasion. He is cooperating in multiple corruption investigations and testifying about a mob-related murder of a casino owner.)

Gonzales also managed the campaign for Congressman Feeny who, like Reed, is under FBI investigation in the Abramoff affair. He has been named three years in a row by CREW as one of the most corrupt members of Congress. After a failed bid for Lieutenant Governor as Jeb Bush's running mate, Feeney worked as general counsel for Yang Enterprises (YEI), which employed an illegal alien from China who pled guilty to spying for the Chinese government.

Clint Curtis, the whistleblower who reported him, also testified under oath that Feeney asked him to write a program to rig the vote in South Florida. Curtis also charged that YEI was over-billing the Florida DOT. Before the Florida Inspector General could issue his report, he was found dead in a Georgia motel room. The death was ruled a suicide, but the ruling has been questioned as inconsistent with the evidence.

Gonzales also worked on the campaign of congressman Patrick McHenry of North Carolina, who has reportedly admitted to a personal and professional relationship with the killer, Jason Robert Drake.

McHenry is the youngest member of Congress and a protege of Karl Rove and Tom DeLay. He is seen as a rising star in the Republican Party. There have also been persistent strong rumors that McHenry is a closeted gay man. Rep. McHenry also has some very shady characters for friends. His roommate was charged with two counts of voter fraud and there is evidence that several young men used McHenry's address to vote in more than one location.

His close friend, National Young Republican Chair, Glenn Murphy, was recently arrested for attempting to perform oral sex on a man while he slept. McHenry's chief fundraisers are now under FBI investigation and McHenry himself may be implicated. Another close friend, Samuel Currin, recently pled guilty to securities fraud, money laundering, and tax fraud.

The final character is the killer himself. Most stories report his name as Jason Robert Drake, although others say it is Robert Jason Drake.

He is from Rutherford County, North Carolina, which is in Patrick McHenry's district. At the time of the murder, he lived with relatives in Orlando. A former Marine, Drake was active in Republican party politics. Beyond this information and his relationship with Patrick McHenry, all stories are unconfirmed or from off-the-record sources.

Reports tie Drake to a gay escort service in the Virginia Beach area. The company, Norfolk Male Escorts, also produced gay porn DVD's, and one of the stars was a man named "Drake".

The owners of this company are charged with murdering the owner of a competing gay porn video company, Bryan Kocis, in Pennsylvania. Kocis was stabbed 28 times and his home was set on fire. Kocis was scheduled to meet with a man named "Drake" one hour before the fire at his house was reported. Is Jason Robert Drake the same person as the gay porn star? Is he connected to the Pennsylvania murder?

There is a report from "a knowledgeable source" that Drake was the lover of one of the two men arrested in the Kocis murder. The theory is that Drake had a list of Republican clients of the escort service and was using that to extort money through his relationship with Gonzales and Abrami. Aside from the evidence above about the man named "Drake", there is more that makes this plausible. Drake's relatives say that he had a major financial disagreement with one of his friends (Gonzales?) about six weeks ago. Six weeks prior to the murder, all of the assets were siezed, as proceeds from criminal activity, for Norfolk Male Escorts. This would have left his lover with no funds for his criminal defense. The murder itself happened after a major struggle, just one day after the preliminary hearings in the Pennsylvania murder.

Now there is a new twist in the Pennsylvania murder investigation. A private investigator hired by the defendant's family is now reporting that a DC gay escort was recently found dead under mysterious circumstances. He had been telling people that one of his clients was a deeply closeted U.S. Senator. He left behind an "in case I'm found dead" letter which has information that may clear the defendant in the Kocis murder. The letter is now going through forensic analysis. Meanwhile, a second gay male escort was found dead in the same apartment only four days later.

Other theories include the possibility that Drake was hired to kill the other two men and then found that he was a victim himself, with his own death staged as a suicide.

Of course, the ultimate explanation could be something completely unconnected to any of the above.

Follow the threads on the killer and his victims and you'll find powerful politicians, several ongoing FBI investigations, corruption, extortion, spying, voter and election fraud accusations, gay prostitutes and porn, and multiple dead bodies. Do any of these have anything to do with the murder-suicide? Was this actually a murder-suicide or was it a triple homicide?

I just heard an author interviewed on the CBC about this, there's a book out about the family that was published last year. I was just about to post, and found this thread.

A totalitarian Christian group that touts dictators as models of power, that's been involved in bankrolling and setting up African dictators (including the one that took down Somalia), pulling the strings in Washington?? You can't make this stuff up.

Factoid: When they held their first international meeting, it was in a Teutonic castle - as though there was a pressing need to hold secretive international meetings in Germany right after the war ended. Then there's all this sexual stuff you've posted about below.

I don't know, but I bet Erik Prince, founder of Blackwater, is connected to the family. The hairs on the back of my neck are standing up - I remember the two ex-employees of his in their deposition the other day say he was creating a culture int he company of shooting Iraqis without provocation, and that Blackwater employees used Templar call signs and symbols.

Jeff Sharlet on “The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power”

A secretive group known as The Fellowship, or “The Family,” is one of the most powerful Christian fundamentalist movements in the United States. The Family’s devoted membership includes congressmen, corporate leaders, generals and foreign heads of state. Author Jeff Sharlet profiles the group in his book The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power. [includes rush transcript]

...
AMY GOODMAN: How does Erik Prince, or does he, fit into this picture? I mean, we’ve just had a major story with Jeremy Scahill, independent reporter, Democracy Now! correspondent, about this lawsuit against Prince by these two men who worked for what’s formerly known as Blackwater, now called Xe, one of them alleging that Prince, quote, “views himself as a Christian crusader tasked with eliminating Muslims and the Islamic faith from the globe.”

JEFF SHARLET: Well, I think that’s something that we need to look more closely into.

The Prince family has given money to Family initiatives in the past. The links aren’t terribly strong. I think what you’re really looking at there is almost sort of two different power bases within the American Christian right.

The interesting thing about Prince is Prince is a certain kind of zealot. The Family doesn’t want to eliminate Muslims; it wants to do business with Muslims. It wants to—you know, they’ve always cultivated the leaders of oil-rich nations. That’s the kind of connection that they’re interested in.

Frat House for Jesus - The entity behind C Street.
by Peter J. Boyer September 13, 2010
...

The Fellowship’s participants (there is no official membership) describe themselves simply as followers of Jesus, an informal network of friends seeking harmony by modelling their lives after his. They are assertively nondoctrinal (eschewing even the term “Christian”) and nonecclesiastical (denominations tend to be divisive), and although the core figures are evangelicals, they do not believe in proselytizing. I have spoken to Buddhists, Muslims, and Jews who consider themselves part of this network. The group rejects anything resembling a formal structure—there is no titled executive team, and even the name “Fellowship” is unofficial, an informal convenience. The business cards of those leaders who carry them list the individual’s name at the top and addresses and telephone numbers at the bottom, with a blank space in between, where the name of the entity might go. A formal foundation does exist—a 501(c)(3) called the International Foundation, which oversees three hundred or so ministries associated with the Fellowship, and has a board of directors that approves a budget for the ministries (in the fifteen-million-dollar range) and the salaries of the parent entity’s relatively few employees. The Fellowship’s affiliated ministries vary widely in their missions, from operating a secondary school in Uganda to funding a program for inner-city youths in Washington, D.C. The core mission of the Fellowship, however, is interpersonal ministry to the powerful, meant “to turn their hearts to the poor.”

For the past forty years, this mission has been largely driven by one man, a layman from Oregon named Doug Coe. Coe insists that he is not the leader of anything. He sat in on the weekly House and Senate prayer groups for fifty years, speaking only once in all that time. Coe generally avoids interviews and photographers; a few years ago, when Time named him one of the nation’s most influential evangelicals, he tried to persuade the writer not to include him on the list, and, failing that, declined to provide a photograph of himself. His admirers describe him in terms that suggest a near-mystical visionary, with a powerful personal magnetism. “Almost everyone, from the moment they meet Doug Coe, they see he’s somebody special,” Don Bonker, a former Democratic congressman from Washington and a longtime associate of Coe’s, says. In Hillary Clinton’s memoir, “Living History,” she wrote that Coe was “a unique presence in Washington: a genuinely loving spiritual mentor and guide to anyone, regardless of party or faith, who wants to deepen his or her relationship to God.”

The Family At C Street

7/23/2009 01:15:00 PM Jeffrey K Radt ("JRed") 13 comments

Critics claim that I'm just your "typical Christian" who aligns himself with every single Republican and party cause -- no matter what -- and that I'm someone who only attacks the Left.

No, the Left just makes it easier to attack them because they don't do a good job hiding what it is they truly believe and what it is they want to do to this nation and its people. The Right just hides their agenda and indiscretions better. Plus, while I'm a true blue conservative I would hardly call myself a Republican these days.

Today, I want to spend some time shining the light on a growing media firestorm involving some Republicans otherwise known as The Family at C Street. I know, it sounds like some new summer TV sitcom or Reality TV show, or even the name of a new band, but it's nowhere close to being that benign.

The Family is a secretive network founded in 1935 and since known by several names, including The Fellowship, The Fellowship Foundation, National Fellowship Council, Fellowship House, The International Foundation, National Committee for Christian Leadership, International Christian Leadership, and the National Leadership Council. It is an international movement centered on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ as the common ground across all religious and political divisions. Most people are familiar with The Fellowship, led by Doug Coe, who is best known for organizing the annual National Prayer Breakfast typically attended by U.S. President each year.

Sounds good so far, right? Not so fast.

The group is associated with many influential leaders, including several members of the United States Congress, former military officers such as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the heads of humanitarian aid organizations, as well as dictators of third world regimes.

According to David Kuo, former Special Assistant to President George W. Bush and Deputy Director of the White House Office of Faith Based and Community Initiatives, "The Fellowship's reach into governments around the world is almost impossible to overstate or even grasp."
...
...forget about the New World Order and the prophesied One World Government System because there are so-called "Christians" in political positions of power today who want to establish a Theocracy in this nation, which is just as bad! How else to you explain the group's mandate: "How to advance the Kingdom of God in this generation"? It's so subtle in that it sounds completely fine on the surface, but when you begin to peel the layers off of this stinky onion and really look at some of the things they believe (and what to accomplish) it definitely reeks as being more of a vehicle to advance a purely political agenda than a religious one.

I thought Christians were tasked with spreading the Gospel of Salvation, not with "advancing" or establishing the Kingdom of God. Isn't Jesus the only One who can and will do that? "They Kingdom come...." anyone? No, I'm not saying that Christians can't and shouldn't be a force to be reckoned with in this world, but I think they've twisted the meaning of "advancing the Kingdom of God" to one that is purely political, rather than attempting to change hearts and minds through cultural and social pursuits with the Holy Word as the catalyst of that change -- not some Congressional or Senate legislation.
...
