"We are the watchmen on the walls of world freedom"-JFK

Kennedy was on his way to the Dallas Trade Mart to deliver a speech, in which he prepared to say:
" We in this country, in this generation, are - by destiny rather than choice - the watchmen on the walls of world freedom.

We ask, therefore, that we may be worthy of our power and responsibility, that we may exercise our strength with wisdom and restraint, and that we may achieve in our time and for all time the ancient vision of peace on earth, goodwill toward men ..."
We ask, therefore, that we may be worthy of our power and responsibility, that we may exercise our strength with wisdom and restraint, and that we may achieve in our time and for all time the ancient vision of peace on earth, goodwill toward men ..."

Kennedy's remarks continued:

"That must always be our goal - and the righteousness of our cause must always underlie our strength.

For as was written long ago,
'Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.'"
John F. Kennedy Quotations
President Kennedy's Inaugural Address, January 20, 1961
We observe today not a victory of party but a celebration of freedom--symbolizing an end as well as a beginning--signifying renewal as well as change. For I have sworn before you and Almighty God the same solemn oath our forebears prescribed nearly a century and three-quarters ago.

The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life. And yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue around the globe--the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God.

We dare not forget today that we are the heirs of that first revolution. Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans--born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage--and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at home and around the world.

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.

This much we pledge--and more.

'Make our planet great again': Macron's response to Trump is praised
Jon Henley @jonhenley
Sat 3 Jun 2017 08.47 EDT

Swift, smart and typically self-assured, Emmanuel Macron?s response to Donald Trump?s decision to pull the US out of the Paris climate accords confirmed a near-faultless debut on the international stage for France?s new president, analysts said.

?Make our planet great again,? Macron, a diplomatic novice not yet 40, exhorted the world, recycling Trump?s own slogan in an unprecedented address partly in English from the Elys?e Palace soon after the US president had informed the world he was withdrawing from the global agreement on Thursday.

Make Honduras Great Again: Honduras? National Solution to a Global Problem
Brooke Bonnema
Vol. 40 Associate Editor

Before the 2016 elections popularized the tagline ?Make American Great Again? and the rise of U.S. nationalism that came with it, the Honduran government saw its own rise of nationalism in its drug trafficking policies.

Honduras? anti-trafficking policy directly violates the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime because it pushes the drug trafficking into Costa Rica.[1] To correct this violation, Honduras must abandon its isolationist approach to fighting the drug trade and work with Costa Rica and other neighbors to develop cross-border police reforms and prevention strategies.

Convention?s Commitments

The U.N. Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (U.N.C.T.O.C.) calls for international cooperation in combating criminal activities, such as drug trafficking

A Global Approach

Honduras and Costa Rica must coordinate through cross-border police investigations and prevention strategies to stamp out drug trafficking in Central America and uphold the U.N.C.T.O.C. The Organization for American States (O.A.S) facilitates sharing of successful practices between states but should go one step further.[18] O.A.S. should duplicate Honduras? Special Commission for Police Reform.

This commission should investigate each country?s police, starting with the high-ranking officials as Honduras has done. Additionally, O.A.S should create a regional police force trained as Honduras? new police are trained, thus creating an international police force as laid out in the U.N.C.T.O.C. Honduras? new policy academy could train police from all over the region instead of focusing on Honduran police. Honduras? academy could also be replicated in neighboring countries. Either way, if the police force is strengthened throughout Central America, drug traffickers will not be able to merely switch their routes to a different state to avoid law enforcement.

In addition to joint investigation teams, the U.N.C.T.O.C. calls for cross-border prevention strategies. Both Costa Rica and Honduras partner with Transparency International, a non-governmental organization that partners with national chapters to fight global corruption.[19] The Costa Rican office, Costa Rica Integra, and the Honduran office, Asociaci?n para una Sociedad m?s Justa (ASJ), should partner together to develop cross-border prevention strategies. Both organizations fight corruption within their borders, but they should share best practices for keeping children in school and out of gangs. They should also share drug trafficking and corruption statistics, as well as best practices for strengthening rule of law. Assisting Costa Rica in boosting its police reform and prevention strategies will allow Honduras to uphold the U.N. Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and bring Central America one step closer to stamping out drug trafficking for good.

The far-right Brazilian populist Jair Bolsonaro has secured a resounding victory in the first-round of his country?s presidential election, but fallen just short of the majority required to avoid a second-round runoff.
Brazil election: Jair Bolsonaro makes Trumpian pledge as poll shows big lead

Rightwinger 15 points ahead as he rallies supporters with ?make Brazil great again? slogan

The far-right frontrunner to become the next president of Latin America?s largest democracy has vowed to make Brazil great again, as election-eve polls gave him a commanding lead in what many view as the most important election in its history.

?Let?s make Brazil Great! Let?s be proud of our homeland once again!? Jair Bolsonaro, a 63-year-old former paratrooper notorious for his hostility to black and gay people, the environment and the left, proclaimed in a Trumpian live broadcast to his seven million Facebook followers on Saturday night.

Jair Bolsonaro stabbing: knife attack plunges Brazil's election into disarray

Jair Bolsonaro, a far-right lawmaker and retired army officer, was recovering from surgery in a hospital in S?o Paulo on Friday morning after he was transferred from the town of Juiz de Fora, where he was stabbed during a campaign event the previous afternoon.

The suspect was arrested within moments of the attack, and told police that he was ?on a mission from God?.

Doctors said Bolsonaro will spend at least a week in hospital and could take weeks to recover from life-threatening injuries.
The election's first round is to take place on 7 October.
In a video recorded from his hospital bed and released on Friday, Bolsonaro thanked medical staff and described the attack. ?All of us have a mission here on earth,? he said. ?I prepared myself for a moment like this, because you run risks.?

Speaking with difficulty, Bolsonaro lamented missing Friday?s Independence Day parade in Rio and quoted his campaign slogan: ?Brazil above everything and God above everyone.?

February 27 2017, 12:01am, The Times

Marine Le Pen compared herself to Donald Trump yesterday, saying that she was the only one who could save France from decline and terrorism.

At a rally in Nantes, the leader of the National Front appealed to supporters of Fran?ois Fillon, the conservative mired in scandal, to vote for her to revive France and fight globalisation and terrorism.

?You see America with Trump,? Ms Le Pen, 48, said. ?In this new world that is emerging, I am the best placed to speak in the name of France.? Mr Fillon, 62, and Emmanuel Macron, 39, the centrist candidate, were agents of the globalised order and ?no longer believe in France?, she said.

?Make Britain Great Again? ? UK Paper Adopts Trump Campaign Slogan Post-Brexit
25 Jun 2016

The Daily Star has adopted presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump?s campaign slogan by declaring: ?Cam quits, BoJo for PM? Now Let?s Make Britain Great Again!?

The front page of the newspaper comes just days after the UKIP-donor owned tabloid splashed the phrase ?Brexit Gunman? to describe mentally-ill Jo Cox killer Thomas Mair.

Social media users have suggested this is the paper?s way of trying to reach back out to UKIP voters after wrongly conflating Brexit and the alleged murderer.

"Champs Elysees Burning": French Police Fire Tear Gas, Water Cannon As Massive Fuel Protests Turn Violent, Demand Macron Resignation
by Tyler Durden
Sat, 11/24/2018 - 10:00

French police used tear gas and a water cannon against protesters in the Champs Elys?es, in the center of Paris, as "yellow vest" activists flooded the streets.

Originally formed to protest rising fuel prices, the "yellow vest" protesters have evolved into a wider demonstration against President Emmanuel Macron's government in recent weeks.
In the capital, hundreds descended on the Champs Elysee, where officers stopped them from advancing to the presidential palace nearby.

Some of the protesters were singing the national anthem, while others brandished placards demanding the resignation of French President Emmanuel Macron and calling him a "thief".

Over 3,000 police officers have been reportedly mobilized to control the approximately 8,000 protesters - some of them masked, according to CNN
. During the tense standoff with police, law enforcement officials were pelted with bottles before opening up with the tear gas and water cannon.
French protesters angry over fuel taxes clash with police
By THOMAS ADAMSON 29 minutes ago

Tense clashes on the Champs-Elysees on Saturday saw police face off with demonstrators who burned plywood, wielded placards reading ?Death to Taxes? and upturned a large vehicle.

?It?s going to trigger a civil war and me, like most other citizens, we?re all ready,? said Benjamin Vrignaud, a 21-year-old protester from Chartres.

?They take everything from us. They steal everything from us,? said 21-year-old Laura Cordonnier.

The anger is mainly over a hike in the diesel fuel tax, which has gone up seven euro cents per liter (nearly 30 U.S. cents per gallon) and will keep climbing in coming years, according to Transport Minister Elisabeth Borne. The tax on gasoline is also to increase four euro cents. Gasoline currently costs about 1.64 euros a liter in Paris ($7.06 a gallon), slightly more than diesel.

Far left leader Jean-Luc Melenchon explained to BFMTV the historical importance of this issue in the Gallic mindset: ?When tax is no longer agreed to, it?s the start of revolutions in France.?
'Macron must resign': Furious protests at rising fuel prices across France

In a second week of demonstrations, thousands are protesting against the steep rise in diesel prices brought in by the president.
?We?re here to oppose a government that is completely out of touch with the lives of ordinary people. This is a people?s revolt.?

Mr Macron has insisted that fuel prices have to rise in line with green initiatives made necessary by
the Paris Climate Change agreement.

He said there would be ?no possiblity? of his government backing down in the face of disturbances.

PARIS, Dec 1 (Reuters) - Rioters ran amok across central Paris on Saturday, torching cars and buildings, looting shops, smashing windows and clashing with police in the worst unrest in more than a decade, posing a dire challenge to Emmanuel Macron's presidency.

The authorities were caught off guard by the escalation in violence after two weeks of nationwide protests against fuel taxes and living costs, known as the "yellow vest" movement after fluorescent jackets kept in all vehicles in France.

In Paris, police said they had arrested almost 300 people while 110 were injured, including 20 members of the security forces. Police fired stun grenades, tear gas and water cannon at protesters at the top of the Champs-Elysees boulevard, at the Tuilleries Garden near the Louvre museum and other sites.

Viral Video Shows EU-branded Armoured Vehicle Crushing Paris Protests
9 Dec 2018

Pictures and video of an armoured personnel carrier emblazoned with the European Union flag helping to crush Gilet Jaunes protesters in Paris have gone viral on social media, with many suggesting it shows what might be in store for Europe once the bloc gets the unified army it is planning.

Tens of thousands of regular and paramilitary police were deployed in the French capital to defend Emmanuel Macron?s presidential palace and confront protesters as the worker-driven ?Yellow Jackets? or ?Yellow Vests? commenced ?Act IV? of their mass protests against the globalist leader, with an astonishing 1,400 people arrested across the country.

Baton charges, stun grenades, and tear gas have been a regular feature of the protests since they began four weeks ago ? with an 80-year-old woman actually being killed when an errant gas cannister flew into her apartment and hit her in the face last week ? but the December 8th protests marked the first time the authorities deployed military-style armoured vehicles against the people.

Brexit 'betrayal' march: Tommy Robinson and Ukip lead London protest amid huge police operation
Police appeal for people to protest peacefully amid disorder fears

Thousands of people took to the streets in central London in a ?Brexit betrayal? protest led by Tommy Robinson and Ukip.

Counter-demonstrators and anti-fascists held a separate protest they claimed had drawn some 15,000 people, although there has been no official crowd size estimates.

The Metropolitan Police mounted a significant public order operation to prevent potential disorder but only three arrests had been made - all of counter-protesters - by the time both rallies ended.
Speaking at the Brexit "betrayal" rally, he said that after watching MPs criticise him in parliament he "thought one day I'll be sitting in there amongst you".

Ukip?s official event page for the Brexit march said it would be ?a democratic and peaceful demonstration expressing the strength of feeling amongst Leavers?.

The party is looking to gain fresh momentum following a wave of resignations from MEPs and high-profile figures, including Nigel Farage, over Robinson?s appointment and Mr Batten?s focus on Islam.
He also called for a mass Ukip membership drive asking his supporters to join the party.

Mr Batten described getting Robinson talking about Brexit as being a "huge success".

?I?ve persuaded Tommy Robinson to talk about Brexit, that?s what he will be talking about. Brexit and the EU will be the only subjects on the agenda at that rally," he said last week

Our Customs Officers Will Resemble Hostesses': Le Pen Slams UN Migration Pact
09.12.2018(updated 01:06 09.12.2018) Get short URL

BRUSSELS (Sputnik) - Marine Le Pen, leader of France's right-wing National Rally political party, claimed on Saturday that the UN Global Compact for Migration threatened to turn EU consulates into travel agencies, declaring that the future agreement will limit the sovereignty of states in their ability to manage migrant flow.

"The sovereignty of countries that would sign [the document] will be limited in terms of migration flows management. The agreement entails irreversible consequences? [The UN Global Compact for Migration] will turn our consulates into travel agencies, while our customs officers will resemble hostesses," Le Pen argued at the meeting.

The UN Global Compact for Migration, finalized on July 13, represents the international community's attempt to establish a common global approach to all aspects of international migration. The pact comprises 23 objectives for better managing migration at local, national, regional, and global levels.

The global compact is expected to be formally endorsed at an intergovernmental conference in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh on December 10-11.

Google Office in China Engulfed in Massive Fire, Employees Evacuated (VIDEO)

A violent fire was first reported at 11 AM local time (3 AM GMT) on Wednesday at the Google office in the Zhongguancun tech district, also known as China's Silicon Valley, in the country's capital.

Google China Moved To Its New Headquarters: A Fresh Start?
Jul 21, 2016

Although we can?t tell for sure what the new headquarter means for Google China, it is worth mentioning that a staff at Google China quoted the last sentence of The Great Gatsby to show his expectation towards the future of Google China: So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.
On July, 14th, 2016, a special party was held at Kejian Office Building, celebrating leaving the decade-long Google China?s old headquarter to to the new one at Raycom Info Tech Park, which is actually not far from the old one. It is expected that Google China will fully move to the new headquarter by August, 1st.

Bare-Breasted 'Mariannes' Face Off With French Police; Tear Gas, Pepper Spray Used On Protesting Yellow Vests
by Tyler Durden
Sat, 12/15/2018 - 10:35

Week five of Yellow Vest demonstrations turned violent after protesters in Paris began to scuffle with police.
Less than 3,000 protesters descended on Paris so far on Saturday, compared to 8,000 or so last week. Of those, 114 people had been detained in the capital - around 20% of last week's figure.

Police used tear gas and pepper spray on protesters in the center of Paris on Saturday. One person was reportedly hurt in the head during clashes at Champs-?lys?es. A correspondent with Russian state-owned media outlet RT suffered an injury to the face and was taken to the hospital.

Meanwhile, in stark contrast to the bright yellow vests worn by most protesters - a group of half-naked women posing as Marianne, the Goddess of Liberty and a symbol of French patriotism, have faced off with police in Paris.

Donning blood-red hoodies and coated in silver paint, the women paid homage to the French revolutionary hero on Champs-?lys?es avenue on Saturday in a silent demonstration.

Frexit Is Coming
Britain's departure meant the end of an era. France's departure would mean the end of the EU.
By Robert Zaretsky | June 29, 2016, 8:46 AM

NICE, FRANCE - MARCH 30: Supporters wave French flags as National Front leader Marine Le Pen campaigns ahead of the French elections on March 30, 2012 in Nice, France. The far-right candidate, who has recently slipped behind in opinion polls, is campaigning ahead of the April 22 election. According to reports Le pen,43, has been focusing her campaign on the recent shooting spree carried out by Mohamed Merah in south-western France (Photo by Frederic Nebinger/Getty Images)

After Grexit and Brexit, the next crisis to confront the European Union will be Frexit. It will prove to be the worst of all. While dramatic, the Greek tragedy had a limited run. While seismic, the British divorce will not necessarily upend Brussels. But for historical and institutional reasons, a French crisis would be cataclysmic. The midwife for the EU?s birth, France now risks becoming its gravedigger.

The ruin and rubble of World War II had not been entirely cleared when France laid the foundations for the European Union.
As the foundations of a new European order were being laid, France?s imperial past caught up with it as hundreds of thousands of immigrants from its former colonies in North Africa ? Morocco, Tunisia, and especially Algeria ? settled in the country.
By the turn of the 21st century, the diffuse fear of ?le grand replacement? ? coined by the essayist Renaud Camus and positing the submersion of a white and Christian France by Arab and Muslim immigrants ? had become an article of faith among the growing number of French turning to the extreme right-wing Front National (FN).
Tellingly, a 2015 poll revealed that if the 2005 referendum on the European Constitution were to be held again, 62 percent of respondents would vote against it, a 7 percent rise from the original ?non? vote.

...   The day after the British vote was tallied, and the stock markets went into a tailspin, President Fran?ois Hollande went before the nation and again underwhelmed it. He explained that ?Europe could not go on as before,? expounded on the need to ?reinforce the eurozone and democratic governance,? and exhorted Europe to take the necessary ?leap? to secure its future. Stapled to the end of these oft-repeated pieties ? spoken by a president with the mien of a funeral home director ? was a solemn chestnut: ?History,? Hollande intoned, ?is knocking at our door.?

In the wake of the Brexit vote, Le Pen could scarcely contain her satisfaction. At a short press conference at the her party?s headquarters, Le Pen stood in front of a newly minted poster displaying a pair of hands breaking free of a handcuff made of gold stars. For those unable to interpret the image, there also ran a caption: ?And Now France!?

Macron sez Let them eat Euro's ...
The man with the golden desk
Emmanuel Macron offers protesters benefits worth ?10bn

And he tries to sound contrite

EVEN BEFORE a terrorist opened fire at the Christmas market in Strasbourg, killing two people and injuring a dozen more, Emmanuel Macron was facing the first real crisis of his presidency. After two weekends of rioting and four weeks of protests, a pale and chastened Mr Macron addressed the nation from the Elys?e palace on the eve of the attack. His brow creased, his tone contrite, the French president acknowledged his mistakes??I know I have hurt some of you with my words??and promised a range of fiscal measures to boost pay packets and pensions.

Mr Macron?s address to the nation, watched by a staggering 23m people (more than watched France win the football World Cup in July), was the first time he had spoken publicly since violence engulfed central Paris on December 1st, as part of the country-wide gilets jaunes (?yellow jackets?) movement. The president promised that those on the minimum wage?currently ?1,499 ($1,704) a month?would receive a net extra ?100 each month without any cost to employers (partly through an expanded wage subsidy). An increase in social charges on pensions for those on less than ?2,000 a month will be cancelled. Overtime and end-of-year bonuses offered by employers would be free of taxes and charges.

Economists estimate that all this will cost at least ?10bn a year, or about 0.4% of GDP.

French yellow vest protesters to march in Versailles
Geert De Clercq

PARIS (Reuters) - Yellow vest protesters, who have blocked roads across France and fought running battles with police since mid-November, will march in the former royal city of Versailles on Saturday in their fight against the government?s reforms.

The Versailles chateau and gardens, a symbol of French state power and one of Europe?s top tourist attractions, will be closed on Saturday as authorities expect hundreds of protesters in the wealthy suburb, 20 km (12 miles) west of Paris.

Jean-Jacques Brot, prefect of the Yvelines region, told reporters the demonstration would be confined to the city?s central avenue, well away from the palace and shopping areas.

Versailles was a focal point of the French revolution and the October 1789 march on the palace by the Parisian mob led to overthrown and subsequent execution of King Louis XVI.

The MSM media blackout of Yellow Vest Protests continues ...
?Yellow vests? block French borders ahead of Christmas, as numbers wane
Sun Dec 23, 2018

With just a few days to Christmas, ?yellow vest? protesters in France have blocked the country?s border points to protest the government?s economic policies for a sixth consecutive week.

During the protests on Saturday ? the sixth since they originally began in rural and urban France ? hundreds of people dressed in yellow vests disrupted traffic and blocked trucks near the border between the country and Spain before security forces stepped in and fired tear gas to disperse them.

The French protesters were joined by dozens of Catalan pro-independence activists, who were also wearing yellow vests.

Blockades were also reported near the border with Italy and at a bridge in Strasbourg near the German border.
Similar demonstrations were held in major French cities such as Marseille, Lyon, Toulouse, and Orleans.

Protests wane ahead of Christmas break

Earlier in the day, a man lost his life at a ?yellow vest? street blockade in southern France, which raised the protest-related death toll to 10. French authorities claimed the death was due to a traffic accident.

Iconic London Tower guards don yellow vests for their first strike in 55 YEARS
Published time: 22 Dec, 2018 05:44

The Tower of London's "Beefeater" guards staged a walkout in defiance of pension cuts, donning yellow vests in solidarity with French protesters as they picketed the iconic site ? their first strike in 55 years.

The Beefeaters, whose red uniforms, black hats, and stoic expressions are instantly recognizable symbols of England, joined workers at other British landmarks in a walkout on Friday to protest against a new pension scheme that will see employees forced to contribute significantly more of their paychecks.
Michael Ainsley, regional organizer for the GMB union that includes HRP workers, called the new pension scheme part of a "race to the bottom" in which employers slash benefits and pass costs on to workers.

"Today's strike is disappointing," said HRP Chief Executive John Barnes, adding: "It will not change our decision to close the defined benefit scheme." He claims the strikers were offered "substantial compensation and transition arrangements" ? but clearly, they were not amused.

Brazil's New President Vows To "Fight The Marxist Trash" in 2019
 Tyler Durden
Tue, 01/01/2019 - 07:45[

b]Brazil's new president Jair Bolsonaro does not mince words[/b]. On the eve of his ascension, the right-wing politician and former paratrooper announced over Twitter that he would issue an immediate decree easing gun laws and will work to "fight the Marxist trash" be says is being taught in Brazil's classrooms, according to France24.

The announcements underlined Bolsonaro's desire to break with decades of center-left rule in Brazil, as he prepares to take over from President Michel Temer, a center-right caretaker figure who served the past two years and finished with historic unpopularity.

They also reinforced the similarity between Bolsonaro and US President Donald Trump, who has taken pride in keeping many of his own promises to his base regardless of the bitter national disunity that has resulted.

Bolsonaro, 63, won election in October on an anti-crime, anti-corruption platform.

He triumphed against a candidate from the left-wing Workers Party, which had held the presidency between 2003 and 2016 before graft and financial mismanagement soured its image with voters. A tepid exit from a record-busting recession also spurred appetite for change. -France24

Macron Arrests "Yellow Vest" Organizer In Escalation Which Will Surely Calm Things Down

French authorities have arrested a key organizer of the Gilets Jaunes (Yellow Vest) movement for leading an unauthorized demonstration, signaling a crackdown on the anti-government demonstrators after nearly two months of violence-filled protests.

Eric Drouet, a truck driver from the suburbs of Paris, was arrested in Paris on Wednesday evening near the iconic Champs-?lys?es avenue - a prime location for the yellow vests to gather. Drouet was detained while leading a commemoration of yellow vests who have died since the movement's inception, most of whom were hit by cars during protests at roundabouts throughout the country, according to the Wall Street Journal.

"The arrest and detention of Mr. Drouet is completely unjustified and arbitrary," said Drouet's attorney in a Thursday statement.

Mr. Drouet has emerged as one of its most high-profile members, appearing in the media frequently and calling for protests on Facebook. Mr. Drouet called for Wednesday evening?s commemoration, giving the authorities an opening to detain him. -WSJ

The yellow vest protests began as a demonstration against a climate change fuel tax, and quickly spread throughout France as a widespread rejection of French President Emmanuel Macron and his administration. Rioting yellow vests have clashed with police nearly every weekend since the protests began, with upscale Paris neighborhoods experiencing shattered storefronts and burning cars.

Thousands of yellow vests have been arrested, straining the French judicial system.

Many of the yellow vests want the Macron administration to reimpose the wealth tax, which was repealed for all taxes except real estate. Others want yellow vest candidates in the upcoming European elections - a possibility supported by nearly 50% of those polled by Harris Interactive.

Surely arresting a key leader of the yellow vest movement will calm things down.

"I've Got My Yellow Vest, Do You?"

Mon, 01/07/2019 - 05:00
Authored by Tom Luongo

I have to hand out sincere kudos to Tucker Carlson. His opening salvo for 2019 was one for the ages. It was a broad-ranging, fifteen-minute rhetorical tour de force.

Tying together Mitt Romney?s vulture capitalism, unchecked immigration, political corruption and the destruction of the middle class family, Carlson laid out a story that if everyone took off their ideological blinders for a few minutes (myself included) would see as simply a horror show.

Carlson?s thesis is that the American family is disintegrating. He?s right. But it?s not just America. It?s everywhere globalism has been the watchword of public policy, ie. Europe as well.

The Yellow Vests in France began protesting over a rise in diesel fuel tax to support climate change initiatives and has morphed into a full-blown revolt against globalism, neoliberalism and French government institutions.

It is the next stage of the dreaded populist uprising of Hillary Clinton?s ?deplorables.? And it?s jumped borders. This is the kind of color revolution I can support, not the fake ones ginned up by oligarchs like George Soros.

But what I found interesting was how Carlson was tying together all of the strands of public policy decisions which has created this web of perverse incentives we live under.

In short, globalism has gentrified the cities and impoverished the countryside. Rural job prospects are gone in many areas, not just in the U.S. but also in France and Italy and Greece, etc.

But, at the same time the cost of living through excessive financialization of the economy in the cities has reached a point where middle class workers live like ants to survive the crushing expenses.

This is what the Yellow Vests are protesting about in France ?and now Canada, Taiwan, Belgium and even for a brief moment, the U.K.

The only ones #winning in this environment are the ones who print, direct and disseminate the money ? the Mitt Romneys, the Jamie Dimons and the Nancy Pelosis.

And if you notice any time someone proposes something rational about changing this dynamic they are denounced as ?reactionary? or ?threatened? or, in the worst case, ?populist.?

This, to me, signals that this dynamic, this process, hasn?t been an accidental confluence of factors. That its not the unfortunate consequence of garden variety corruption of our political system but something far more sinister.

It was designed policy.

Which brings me back to Tucker Carlson. As a follow up to his first rant Carlson went off of Rick Wilson, a picture of vile punditry if there ever was one.

This is the next stage of the attack on rural America.

First it was destroy their ability to live a stable life, raise children and pass wealth down through the generations.

Then it was import the worst people from the rest of the world, zip code targeting immigrants to flip certain states to destroy potential revolt through the ballot box.

And now we?re into the vilification stage, the dehumanization stage.

This is the foundation our leaders always lay before going to war with someone.

In the past it?s always been some group of evil brown people across the ocean.

Today it?s the deplorable, ten-toothed white people who are too stupid to recognize why they need to be exterminated.
So, that when the inevitable collapse of this system occurs it will be blamed first on Trump accompanied by the insufferable cries of ?I told you so? and then on Trump voters.

Make no mistake, this was policy. This was the point of the long march through the institutions. And the collapse that is coming, that everyone on Wall St. and K Street are preparing for, needs a scapegoat.

Because if we start talking to each other again versus at each other we may just figure out who was behind all this in the first place.

I?ve got my yellow vest, do you?

Brandon Smith: Trump Is A Pied Piper For The New World Order Agenda
Authored by Brandon Smith via,
01/04/2019 - 23:05

In my last article, 'The Fed Is A Suicide Bomber With A Deeper Agenda', I explored and dismantled recent propaganda surrounding the Federal Reserve's tightening actions, including the propaganda that Jerome Powell is some kind of rogue central banker who is rebalancing the system for the good of the nation.  To summarize the points made in that article:

The Fed deliberately created the "Everything Bubble" so that it could be deliberately imploded at the proper time - in other words, the crash we have been witnessing so far during the final quarter of 2018 and continuing into 2019 is a controlled demolition of the economy. Jerome Powell is not some "rebel" going against the easy money dictates of the Fed.  Jerome Powell is playing the role that has been given to him.  Ben Bernanke and Janet Yellen's job was to inflate the bubble.  Jerome Powell's job is to crash the bubble.

This is a tactic used by the Fed and the globalists that run it for over 100 years - conjure a debt bubble, deflate the debt bubble, cause a crisis, siphon up hard assets for pennies on the dollar, use the panic to gain more power and centralization, introduce new control measures while everyone is distracted, rinse, repeat.

This process of controlled demolition needs a considerable distraction so that the central banks and the globalists ultimately avoid blame for the painful consequences of the event.

Enter Donald Trump and the false Trump vs. Globalist paradigm.

As I mentioned last week, the Fed is only one side of the equation for the crash; Trump is the other side.

In terms of social control,

elitist con men are highly preoccupied with preventing spontaneous organization of rebellion. But this does not always involve the outright crushing of dissent. Instead, the elites prefer to use co-option and misdirection (con games) to lure rebellious movements to focus on the wrong enemy, or to trust the wrong leadership.

I am often reminded of the infiltration of the Tea Party movement by neo-conservatives in the years after the 2008 election. Neo-con-men exploited the desire among Tea Party activists for mainstream legitimacy and more widespread media coverage. They gave the activists what they wanted, by injecting their own political puppets into the movement. It did not take long for the Tea Party to abandon its initial roots in individual sovereignty and the Ron Paul campaign and adopt a decidedly statist tone. The smart people left the movement early and went on to launch their own efforts, but the goal of the establishment had been accomplished ? the grass roots organized threat of the Tea Party was no more.

That said, the principles of conservative economics, small government and personal liberty remain entrenched in the American psyche and continue to grow. These ideals have a life of their own, and almost seem to act autonomously at times from any particular group or leader.

The single most important dynamo behind the rise of sovereignty activism has actually been the liberty media, or what some might call the ?alternative media.? This group of people has been working tirelessly for years to inform the masses on the REAL news and data behind global events. Over time we have earned the trust of millions based on honest reporting and accurate predictions. It was only a matter of time before the establishment attempted to co-opt us as well?

The downfall of the Tea Party was a lack of cohesive leadership. There was no one there to put a stop to the neo-con infiltration. There was no one in a strong enough position to vet incoming influencers and prevent poison pills from entering the bloodstream of the movement. The problem with leadership, though, is that it denotes centralization and a bottlenecking of decisions and action. It?s quite a quandary for advocates of decentralization.

The most effective method for the establishment to sabotage a rebellion is to place one of their own puppets into a leadership position in that rebellion.
This exploits the movement?s subconscious appetite for top down leadership. It neutralizes activists by tricking them into waiting for orders from on high instead of acting on their own individually. It makes a movement lazy and impotent.

Salvini calls for ?Italian-Polish axis? to replace Paris-Berlin

Jan 9, 2019 (updated:  Jan 9, 2019)

Italy?s far-right Interior Minister Matteo Salvini on Wednesday (9 January) said populists from Italy and Poland should spark a ?European spring? to replace the centre-right influence of Germany and France, ahead of May?s European elections.

Salvini was speaking in Warsaw following talks with Jarosław Kaczyński, the powerful leader of the governing Law and Justice (PiS) party.

Salvini was speaking in Warsaw following talks with Jarosław Kaczyński, the powerful leader of the governing Law and Justice (PiS) party.

The May poll could see nationalist and far-right parties across Europe upset the bloc?s balance of power, which is currently dominated by the centre-right.

?We are preparing a new equilibrium and new energy in Europe and Poland and Italy, absolutely, will lead this new European spring,? said Salvini.

?We have a new plan for Europe? intended to replace the dominant ?French-German axis?, he added.

Salvini?s anti-immigration League party has ruled in coalition with the anti-establishment Five Star Movement since a general election last March.

?I?m not sure whether we share a common destiny, but we are working on it,? said Salvini. ?The Franco-German axis may be replaced by an Italian-Polish axis.?

His talks with Kaczyński had been ?long, positive and concrete?, he added.

?I?d like to create a pact, an alliance for everyone who wants to save Europe, the more of us, the better,? Salvini said, adding that his party would draw up a 10-point plan to present to other EU countries.

Yellow Vests Organizing Run On French Banks
RT January 10, 2019

Yellow Vest protesters are hoping to trigger a bank run with a nationwide coordinated cash withdrawal.

By threatening the French financial system, protesters say, they want to peacefully force the government to pass their reforms.

?If the banks weaken, the state weakens immediately,? said Yellow Vest ?sympathizer? Tahz San on Facebook. ?It?s elected officials' worst nightmare.?

Protesters plan to empty their bank accounts on Saturday, withdrawing as much money as possible in a bid to undermine the French banks ? if not the euro itself.

The plan is to ?scare the state legally and without violence,? forcing the government to adopt the movement?s Citizens? Referendum Initiative, which would allow citizens to propose and vote on new laws.

PARIS (AP) ? Thousands of people wearing yellow vests started marching in the streets of Paris as others were gathering in the central French city of Bourges amid high security measures as authorities feared possible violence between police and protesters Saturday.

In Paris, a few thousand people set off from near the Finance Ministry in eastern Paris at around 11 a.m. (1000 GMT; 5 a.m. EST) and were walking peacefully in the central streets of the capital. They were planning to head toward Champs-Elysees avenue.

Paris police say 24 people were arrested Saturday before the protests started, primarily for carrying potential weapons.

French riot police (CRS) are alleged to have begun deploying assault rifles with live ammunition for the first time during the ninth weekend of protest in a row by the Gilets Jaunes (Yellow Vest) movement.

French officers were caught on video brandishing what appeared to be Heckler & Koch G36 assault rifles on the streets of the French capital near the Arc de Triomphe on Saturday, the Daily Mail reports.

Several users on Twitter posted other pictures of officers armed with rifles, with one user claiming he had counted at least a dozen armed officers at around 3 p.m. near the famous monument.

Only a week prior to the ?Act IX? protest, former French Minister of Education Luc Ferry had seemingly endorsed the use of live ammunition on Yellow Vest protestors in an interview with French media.
