Speaker Ryan Posts Video of Visit to Southern Border:
‘It’s Time for the Wall’

" ... we’re going to get this done this week.”

In a 30-second video of House Speaker Paul Ryan’s (D-WI) visit to the southern border of the United States posted online on Tuesday, Ryan said that border patrol agents “need more tools … to do their jobs effectively” and vows to “get this done this week.”

But the name of the video reads like a Trump campaign slogan: “It’s Time for the Wall” and notes that there are 1,954 miles of southern border between the United States and Mexico.

Quote
“It’s time for The Wall,” the text accompanying the video reads. “That’s why the House voted to fully fund the Trump administration’s request to build it.”

Democrats’ Choice:
Block Pentagon Spending or Accept Border Wall

NEIL MUNRO - 30 Aug 2017

Democrats will have to block the Pentagon’s 2018 budget in September if they want to stop
President Donald Trump’s plan to extend the nation’s border walls in 2018, say immigration reformers.

The border-wall funds were included in the Pentagon’s 2018 budget by a House vote on July 27, leaving the 48 Senate Democrats as the only barrier to the construction of roughly 60 additional miles of walls and fencing.

“It puts them in the difficult position of voting against national defense in order to stop the improvement of the border wall … which is national defense,” said Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies. “It is bad for them on both sides of the message — not only do they not want to protect the border, they are also willing to sacrifice soldiers in the field to not protect the borders,” he added.

“It seems like [House Speaker Paul] Ryan does deserve some credit — if he follows through… [but] we have to see what [GOP Senate Majority Leader Mitch] McConnell does,” said Krikorian.

“It will be difficult for [Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer] to explain why he is willing to hold up the defense budget hostage,” said Ira Mehlman, a spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform.

Quote
Many polls show that Americans are very generous, they do welcome individual immigrants, and they do want to like the idea of immigration. But the polls also show that most Americans are increasingly worried that large-scale legal immigration will change their country and disadvantage themselves and their children. Trump’s “Buy American, Hire American” policies are also extremely popular, including among Democratic-leaning voters.

Trump administration picks companies to build border wall prototypes
GENEVA SANDS - Sep 1, 2017

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced Thursday that four vendors have been selected to design and build prototypes for the proposed U.S.-Mexico border wall, which remains a top priority of the Trump administration.

The four companies awarded contracts are: Caddell Construction Co., Fisher Sand & Gravel Co., Texas Sterling Construction Co. and W. G. Yates & Sons Construction Company.

Each of the selected companies has been tasked with building one wall prototype made of "reinforced concrete" along the border in San Diego. Next week, CBP will decide on up to four additional vendors that will be selected to build wall prototypes made of non-concrete materials.

(http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg148/evinyl/PrisonPlanetForum/FORUM/rendering-cbp-border-wall1-ht-mem-170901_4x3_992.jpg) (http://s247.photobucket.com/user/evinyl/media/PrisonPlanetForum/FORUM/rendering-cbp-border-wall1-ht-mem-170901_4x3_992.jpg.html)

.... "These prototypes, which are intended to deter illegal crossings, will help us refine the design standards and security requirements that will meet the needs of U.S Border Patrol," said acting Deputy Commissioner Ron Vitiello during a press briefing.

The prototypes will be designed to be 30 feet long and up to 30 feet high, and will be in close proximity to each other. Testing will examine aesthetics, as well as the breaching and scaling potential.

Once the prototypes are built, there will be a 30 to 60 days evaluation period.

"We're going to do this as quickly as possible," Vitiello said.

Quote
The San Diego sector was chosen as the prototype location because of access to the border land, the conditions that allow for CBP to evaluate the structures as part of the larger infrastructure system and the operational importance of the region.

Trump border wall construction begins
Stephen Dinan - September 26, 2017

Homeland Security said it began construction Tuesday on the
prototypes for President Trump’s new border wall.

In a short notice, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said the building began in San Diego on eight prototypes, which had been awarded over the summer. Four of the prototypes are concrete walls, and four are non-concrete designs.

“We are committed to securing our border and that includes constructing
border walls,” said Ronald Vitiello, acting deputy commissioner at CBP.

The prototypes are designed to test out new approaches, materials, strategies and technology as Homeland Security pushes forward with Mr. Trump’s goal of a border wall. The designs are between 18 and 30 feet, and will be evaluated on how well they deter climbers, how well they withstand breach attempts and what sort of awareness they allow agents who patrol the border. The prototypes are expected to be finished within 30 days.

“Moving forward with the prototypes enables us to continue to incorporate all the tools necessary to secure our border,” Mr. Vitiello said. Agents — and Mr. Trump — say visibility through the wall is critical for knowing what’s going on in Mexico, helping agents avoid ambushes or other potential dangers, as well as spot migrants or smugglers preparing to try to cross.

Quote
About 354 miles of the 1,952-mile border are currently protected by some form of wall. Another 300 miles have vehicle barriers, which allow easy penetration by pedestrians or animals, but are designed to stop trucks and cars from barreling over the border.

House Committee Approves $10B for Border Wall
BOB PRICE - 4 Oct 2017

The House Homeland Security Committee approved a $10 billion funding package for President Donald Trump’s promised border wall construction. The bill could be attached to legislation being debated to replace President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

“We have been talking about border security for many years. Now that we finally have a partner in the White House who has prioritized this issue, it’s time for Congress to do its part and get the job done,” Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul said in a written statement obtained by Breitbart Texas. “I look forward to working with my colleagues in both chambers to get this bill to the President’s desk so we can finally provide the American people with the security they have long demanded and deserve.”

Quote
The provision funding the construction of the president’s promised border wall came as part of a border security spending proposal that will reimburse states for up to $35 million for their costs of using National Guard troops to supplement border security efforts in their state, The Hill reported. It also includes $5 billion to increase security at ports of entry.

The migrants are doing everything they
can to breach security before the wall goes up!
AND ... to get their 'kids' across that border!

"While the prototypes continue collecting dust in the
San Diego region, border-crossings under Trump have
surged back to where they were under Obama."

One Year of Trump:
Border Wall Prototypes Sit in Desert As
Border-Crossings Surge to Obama Levels

JOHN BINDER - 21 Jan 2018

A year ago, President Trump committed to the American people to build a wall along the United States-Mexico border to stop illegal immigration and the flow of drugs into the country.

A year later, Trump is still promising to build the border wall, as prototypes of what the wall could look like sit in the San Diego, California, desert and border-crossings surge back to President Obama-era illegal immigration levels.

Since September 2017, eight border wall prototypes have sat in San Diego, being tested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and toured countlessly by government officials.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen toured the border wall prototypes in December 2017, telling Fox News that the wall was paramount to ending illegal immigration.

“We got to have a wall, we’re going to have a wall. But then you need the technology, you need the people, you need the censors, you need the cameras, you need the monitoring, to make sure that that wall is as effective as it can be,” Nielsen said.

Quote
Between April 2017—when border-crossings hit a historic low—and December 2017, family unit border-crossings have surged 625 percent, Breitbart Texas reported, with the last month of 2017 even exceeding the number of border-crossings under Obama.

Illegal Alien Barrier Passes First Test
MICHAEL WALSH - JANUARY 20, 2018

The Left loves to sneer at the notion of a strong wall between the United States and the illegal infiltrators coming across the southern border from Mexico. As usual, they say it can't be done, it won't work, we can't afford it -- their usual litany of reasons How Not to Do It. Oops:

Quote
Military special forces based in Florida and U.S. Customs and Border Protection special units spent three weeks trying to breach and scale the eight models in San Diego, using jackhammers, saws, torches and other tools and climbing devices, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the information was not authorized for public release.

A Customs and Border Protection report on the tests identifies strengths and flaws of each design but does not pick an overall winner or rank them, though it does point to see-through steel barriers topped by concrete as the best overall design, the official said.

The report recommends combining elements of each, depending on the terrain. The official likened it to a Lego design, pulling pieces from different prototypes.

Carlos Diaz, a spokesman for Customs and Border Protection, said the agency is still in “the testing phase” and that results are being evaluated. He said combining elements of different prototypes instead of picking a winner is consistent with previous statements by officials. He noted that the agency said in its bidding guidelines that a minimum height of 18 feet (5.4 meters) would be a key characteristic. He said he did not have additional details on test results.

.... Real Americans are finally catching on to the Democrats' can't-do/won't-do playbook, which manifested itself most recently in the tax cut. Once the border wall is up -- and actually before, as the Mexicans realize we mean business -- watch the numbers of illegal "dreamers" fall precipitously.

Ronald Vitiello, the agency’s acting deputy commissioner, said after visiting the prototypes in October that he was struck most by the 30-foot (9.1-meter) heights, which are significantly higher than existing barriers. Taller barriers are undoubtedly more effective, but whether the cost is justified will be up for debate.

The highly trained testers scaled 16 to 20 feet (4.9 to 6.1 meters) unassisted but needed help after that, said the official who described the assaults on the wall prototypes to the AP. Testers also expressed safety concerns about getting down from 30 feet.

FLASHBACK:
2008 Democratic Party Platform Calls For
More ‘Infrastructure’ On The Border, More Agents

JOE SIMONSON - 01/22/2018

A look back into the Democratic Party’s official 2008 platform on immigration shows just how far left its members have drifted in a decade.

Under the “Immigration” section of its platform document entitled “Renewing America’s Promise” the Democratic National Committee criticizes the nations “broken” immigration system,” pledging in August 2008 that “we cannot continue to allow people to enter the United States undetected, undocumented and unchecked.”

The harsh language in the document continues, castigating those who “enter our country’s borders illegally, and those who employ them, disrespect the rule of law.”

(http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg148/evinyl/PrisonPlanetForum/FORUM/Trump-Border-Wall-Mexico-Never-Changed-Evolved-Fact-Check-e1516561292293.jpg) (http://s247.photobucket.com/user/evinyl/media/PrisonPlanetForum/FORUM/Trump-Border-Wall-Mexico-Never-Changed-Evolved-Fact-Check-e1516561292293.jpg.html)

In terms of enforcement, the policy suggestions mirror President Donald Trump’s call for a wall covering part of the U.S.-Mexico border and an increase in the amount of Customs and Border Protection agents. The platform reads:

“We need to secure our borders, and support additional personnel, infrastructure, and technology on the border and at our ports of entry. We need additional Customs and Border Protection agents equipped with better technology and real-time intelligence. We need to dismantle human smuggling organizations, combating the crime associated with this trade.”

The platform also seems to endorse E-Verify, a Department of Homeland Security program that allows employers to check if potential employees have legal status to work in the United States, saying that the country needs “to crack down on employers who hired undocumented immigrants,” and that “employers need a method to verify whether their employees are legally eligible to work in the United States.”

Nearly 400 Killed as Gulf Cartel Factions
Fight for Mexican Border City

ILDEFONSO ORTIZ AND BRANDON DARBY - 24 Jan 2018

REYNOSA, Tamaulipas — More than 387 people have been killed in direct connection with the raging violence for cartel control of this border city since May 2017.

Bordering with Texas, Reynosa is considered a significant trading area for industry and tourism, however, the region is also a primary route used by drug cartels to move thousands of illegal immigrants and large quantities of drugs north. Due to the strategic importance of the region, criminal organizations are fighting for control of smuggling routes–leading to fierce gun battles over the years.

The most recent wave of violence began shortly after Mexican authorities killed the former leader of the Gulf Cartel in Reynosa, a man named Juan Manuel or Julian “Toro” Loiza Salinas. As Breitbart Texas reported at the time, the death led to a power vacuum where his relatives and allies tried to hold on to power and went to war with another faction of the Gulf Cartel. The violence has led to convoys of gunmen roaming the streets and clashing in public areas as well as cartel roadblocks throughout Reynosa and Rio Bravo.

those found in the mass graves of cartel incineration sites.

Enough Fentanyl to Kill Millions Found
En Route to U.S. South of Border

ILDEFONSO ORTIZ AND BRANDON DARBY - 27 Jan 2018

A traffic stop led Mexican authorities to seize enough fentanyl to kill millions of people as well as almost 1,000 pounds of crystal methamphetamine and other drugs that were headed to the California border.

This week, Mexico’s National Security Commission announced the seizure of 45.5 kilograms of fentanyl that were found as part of a synthetic drug shipment in the Mexican beach resort town of Ensenada, Baja California. The seizure also included more than 914 pounds of crystal meth, 87 pounds of cocaine and 18 pounds of heroin.

Unlike the other synthetic drugs, fentanyl is a medically used opioid that is considered to be 100 times more powerful than morphine and prone to lethal overdoses.

According to the Oxford Treatment Center, the lethal dose for an individual taking fentanyl is 2 milligrams.

The 45.5 kilograms of fentanyl seized is enough to fuel millions of possible lethal doses.

A wall will slow them down

No it won't. It will merely give gullible conservatives the illusion that something is being done to stop the influx of unvetted illegals.

If the "real owners" (to quote George Carlin) of this country want to do to the U.S. what ruling elites have already done to various regions of Western Europe, a new Berlin Wall isn't going to stop them.

But don't take my word for it. By all means, find out the hard way.

You can't say you weren't warned.

The Immigration Stabilization Act, however, would stop them (no costly, symbolic "wall" necessary):

Perhaps that's why neither side of the controlled-opposition debate over this issue will so much as mention that bill.

Lest I be misunderstood, I'm all in favor of legal immigration. Hundreds of thousands of people legally immigrate here every year.

I'm merely against people cutting to the head of the line.

Imagine being at an amusement park, standing in the hot sun for nearly an hour waiting to ride the latest roller coaster, only to see someone who just got there walk in front of you and everyone else as though he owned the place.

The semitrailer stopped in the checkpoint's primary lane where the driver, a U.S. citizen, was questioned about his immigration status.

His rig was kept for further inspection, and agents found the immigrants inside the trailer.
The immigrants are from Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. Thirteen were unaccompanied minors. The Border Patrol says all of them are in good health.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman Nina Pruneda says the driver's identity and other details about the case are being withheld at this time.

Everything You Need To Know About The
Wall — Explained By The Guy Who Might Build It

SAAGAR ENJETI - 02/01/2018

CEO of Fisher Sand & Gravel Tommy Fisher, one of the four finalists selected to build prototypes for President Donald Trump’s proposed border wall, joined The Daily Caller for an exclusive interview Tuesday before President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address.

Fisher declares he can build a 700 mile long wall along the US-Mexico border for approximately 11 billion dollars, a proposal he has submitted to the Department of Homeland Security which is under significant consideration.

Quote
He specifically emphasized the ability of his company to build a wall even along mountains and rivers where it can even serve as a levy. He responded to Trump’s past declaration that any border wall needs to be see through for surveillance purposes by noting the advantages his own wall offers given its unique, high vantage point. Fisher explained that with his proposed wall border patrol agents would be able to drive along an access road vaulted above the ground, at speeds up to 60 mph.

Congress’ Leaders Exclude Border Wall Funding from $296 Billion Budget Deal
NEIL MUNRO - 8 Feb 2018

The two-year $296 billion budget deal includes no money for the border wall but does direct the Department of Homeland Security to $800 million for various disaster-related construction and procurement projects.

The exclusion of border-wall funding in the two-year budget planning document does not block border-wall funds from being included in the final appropriations bills for 2018. Both the Senate and House draft bills now include roughly $1.5 billion for wall construction in 2018.

President Donald Trump has called for a $25 billion fund to build the wall over several years.

Once the two-year budget plan is approved, legislators will try to finish the 2018 appropriations bill during the next six weeks — and Democrats will likely oppose any significant border-wall spending for 2018.

GOP leaders did not press to include border-wall funding in the two-year budget but instead allowed determined Democrats to exclude the funding. During the closed-door negotiations, the GOP concessions on the wall were likely swapped for gains in their priority projects.

Mexico detains hundreds of US-bound migrants
AFP - February 12, 2018

Mexico City (AFP) - Mexican authorities detained more than 500 undocumented migrants over the weekend, mostly Central Americans trying to reach the United States, many of them risking their lives, officials said.

Many of the migrants, who were detained in six different operations, were being trafficked by smugglers in unventilated trucks with no food or water. More than 200 others were found crammed into six "safe houses" used by criminal gangs in the state of Tamaulipas, which borders the United States.

They had paid their traffickers up to $4,000. More than 100 of the migrants in that group were minors. The detentions come as immigration across the southern US border is at the center of a political firestorm in Washington.

The operations come a week after Mexico detained more than 300 Central American men, women and children being smuggled to the US without water or food.

CPAC Crowd Wild Over Vice President’s Unequivocal
Declaration, ’We’re Gonna Build That Wall’

MICHELLE MOONS - 22 Feb 2018

OXON HILL, Maryland — “Make no mistake about it, we’re gonna build that wall,” declared Vice President Mike Pence from the stage of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Thursday morning.

“Build that wall!  Build that wall!  Build that wall!” came chants from the crowd in response to the Vice President’s assurance that the Trump administration will build a wall along the U.S. southern border.

Building the border wall was a cornerstone pledge of then-candidate Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. Just over a year into the Trump administration, Congress has yet to approve funding to complete the project.

In 2006, Democrats and Republicans joined together in sanctioning of the Secure Fence Act. However, the President’s efforts to secure funding for building a wall along the southern border have been met with heavy opposition from Democrats in his administration’s first year.

Quote
“Because of your support in this past year, it’s been a year of action, it’s been a year of remarkable results,” Pence told the jubilant CPAC crowd. “In a word, it’s been a year of promises made, and promises kept.”

Trump Refuses to Back Down on Mexico
Paying for Wall, Mexican President’s
Trip to White House Called Off

JOHN BINDER - 24 Feb 2018

President Trump has refused to back down on his promise to make Mexico pay for a wall along the United States-Mexico border, prompting a White House trip by Mexican President Peña Nieto to be canceled.

Trump and Nieto decided to call off the planned visit in Washington, DC, after a phone conversation about the proposed U.S.-Mexico border wall and how it would be paid for — in one way or another — by Mexico.

The Washington Post reports:

Quote
Tentative plans for Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto to make his first visit to the White House to meet with President Trump were scuttled this week after a testy call between the two leaders ended in an impasse over Trump’s promised border wall, according to U.S. and Mexican officials.

Peña Nieto was eyeing an official trip to Washington this month or in early March, but both countries agreed to call off the plan after Trump would not agree to publicly affirm Mexico’s position that it would not fund construction of a border wall that the Mexican people widely consider offensive, said the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a confidential conversation.

.... Mexico, Trump has committed, will somehow end up paying for the border wall, whether that comes in the form of taxing remittances to have illegal aliens from Mexico actually pay for the wall or tariffs on imported goods from Mexico.

REPORT:
Baja California Leads Mexico for Murders in January 2018

ROBERT ARCE - 1 Mar 2018

Baja California, bordering Arizona and California, leads all other Mexican states in homicide cases for January 2018.

According to information released by the Secretariado Ejecutivo del Sistema Nacional de Seguridad Pública (SESNSP), Baja California registered 211 homicides in January, according to local media outlet. Baja California encompasses the cities of Tijuana, Ensenada, Rosarito, and Mexicali.

The high levels of cartel-related violence–which plagued Mexico during 2017–continued into January 2018.  According to the official figures, there were 2,156 homicides nationwide in the month. The total is nearly 12 percent higher over January 2017, when 1,929 were registered.

Rounding out the remaining states at the top of the list are:
Guerrero—204
State of Mexico—191
Guanajuato—172
Chihuahua—124
Veracruz—118
Jalisco—114
Michoacán—103
Sinaloa—76
Tamaulipas—72

Quote
The figures in Baja California are alarming compared to the homicide rate of nearby San Diego, California. In 2017, San Diego (population 1.4 million) registered 34 homicides. Tijuana (population 1.7 million) saw 1,734. Additionally, the tourist beach city of Ensenada (population 486,639) registered 294 homicides in 2017.

It takes more than 90 minutes to travel the 20 miles from Jim Chilton’s house on his sprawling Arizona cattle ranch to the border between the United States and Mexico. But the multi-generational rancher is willing to take guests along for the ride to show them why a wall is needed to secure the homeland.

And Chilton’s frustration is not with the agents who risk their lives along the crime-infested border every day, but with the federal government that doesn’t have a strategy in place to help them actually secure it

... “It was really truly an amazing experience today — to be able to see the trials and tribulations that he and other ranchers face on a day-to-day basis,” Ward said. “A lot of times, people talk about these as just poor illegal immigrants who want to come to our country for a better life.”

What they do not talk about is drug trafficking run by cartels that Chilton said control much of the area, including having scouts on hilltops monitoring any Border Patrol activity.

Wage Growth for American Workers Threatened by
Lack of Wall, Expected Rise in Illegal Immigration

JOHN BINDER - 16 Mar 2018

Illegal immigration pouring across the United States-Mexico border is likely to rise this year, according to a Princeton University expert, as President Trump’s border wall has yet to be constructed.

In an interview with the Washington Examiner‘s Paul Bedard, Princeton Policy Adviser President Steven Kopits said illegal immigration in 2018 is likely to increase by 70 percent — or about 590,000 border-crossings for 2018.

Such an increase, Kopits told the Washington Examiner, would put 2018 as the “second highest year since 2010” for illegal immigration on the southern border. The report comes as Trump’s proposed border wall has yet to be paid for and constructed, leaving the southern border just as open as it was under former President Obama.

The spike in illegal immigration for this year would translate into suppressing wage gains for American workers, who over the last couple of months have enjoyed historic wage growth due to increased immigration enforcement and less illegal immigration in 2017 largely due to Trump’s rhetoric.

Quote
This week, Trump visited the border wall prototypes in San Diego, California. Though the administration has said the process is necessary, the prototypes have been sitting in the San Diego desert for over half a year now, with no timeline in sight of when the construction of the wall will break ground.

Democrats and GOP Leaders Defund Trump’s Border Wall, Again
NEIL MUNRO - 21 Mar 2018

The 2018 omnibus budget provides funds to build just 33 miles of new border fence in Texas and denies any funds for President Donald Trump’s preferred border walls.

Pro-immigration Democrats emphasized their funding and symbolic victory over Trump’s populist agenda by directing the business-first GOP leadership to also include a prohibition in the omnibus bill barring the prototype walls which Trump showcased this month:

Quote
The amounts designated in subsection (a)(2) through (a)(4) shall only be available for operationally effective designs deployed as of the date of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2017, (Public Law 115–31), such as currently deployed steel bollard designs, that prioritize agent safety.

The $641 million allocated for new fences is only 0.05 percent of the $1.3 trillion spending bill, or just 5 cents in a $100 bill.

... Democrats won explicit language restricting border construction to the same see-through fencing that was already authorized under current law.  The bill does not allow any increase in deportation officers or detention beds.  We are disappointed that we did not reach agreement on Dreamer protections that were worthy of these patriotic young people.

"We're going to be starting work literally on Monday," Trump said during an event Friday at the White House. "We have a lot of money coming to the border."

Next week, CBP will decide on up to four additional vendors that will be selected to build wall prototypes made of non-concrete materials.

Trump Is Justified in Using the
Military Budget for the Wall

ROGER L SIMON - MARCH 25, 2018

The president often references the opioid crisis to justify the need for a wall on our southern border, but he rarely invokes what may be an even greater (related) justification for making the barrier a national security issue and utilizing the military budget for its construction -- the presence of the Lebanese terror organization Hezbollah.

Hezbollah's deep involvement in the drug trade is well known.  They use it to finance their murderous activities throughout the Middle East, including the Syrian civil war with its endless carnage and massive refugee crisis. But it doesn't end there -- not even close. They have reached extensively into Latin America, exploiting a network of proxies and Lebanese ex-pats from Venezuela to Paraguay.

Like the ultra-violent Mexican cartels, with whom they collaborate, Hezbollah is among the world's biggest drug pushers, managing marijuana and opium poppy farms across the globe.  The fruits of their labor are sold to you-know-who while they employ some of the most sophisticated money-laundering methods extant.

Besides that, Hezbollah has the biggest non-state army in the world with an estimated full-time force of 25,000 and a similar number of reservists.  Estimates of their rocket capability range from a 40,000 to 150,000 count, considerably more than most countries.

Cartel Gunmen Dump Bags of Dismembered
Bodies in Mexican Border City

CARTEL CHRONICLES - 26 Mar 2018

REYNOSA, Tamaulipas — Cartel gunmen dumped two large bags filled with dismembered body parts outside a local gas station. The gory scene follows several days of relative peace after months of fierce gun battles and escalating violence between rival factions of the Gulf Cartel.

Cartel gunmen riding in an SUV pulled up to a gas station on the western side of Reynosa near the Retama rural community and left two large, bloody bags before driving off. Mexican authorities rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area as forensic investigators collected the two large bags that reportedly contained various body parts.

Since May 2017, two rival factions of the Gulf Cartel have fought for control of the various drug trafficking and human smuggling routes in Reynosa. The fighting has led to dozens of fierce gun battles yielding more than 410 murders including innocent bystanders, cartel gunmen, and authorities, Breitbart Texas reported.

Family of Four Killed in Crossfire
During Mexican Border City Battle

√  CARTEL CHRONICLES - 26 Mar 2018

NUEVO LAREDO, Tamaulipas — A family of four, including two young girls, died after getting caught in the crossfire of a fierce battle as cartel gunmen tried to ambush a Mexican Marine convoy. The incident also led to one marine dying with 12 others seriously injured. Authorities managed to kill four attackers.

The dramatic spike in violence is tied to an effort to capture Juan Gerardo “El Huevo” Treviño Chavez, the current leader of the Cartel Del Noreste (CDN) faction of Los Zetas operating in Nuevo Laredo, Mexican law enforcement sources revealed to Breitbart Texas. Nuevo Laredo is immediately south of Laredo, Texas. The violence on the Mexican side began when a convoy of marines tried to carry out a series of operations in the area.

A family of four driving home along the highway that connects Nuevo Laredo with Piedras Negras, Coahuila, unknowingly drove into one of the cartel ambushes.

Quote
In recent weeks, CDN gunmen used cloned military uniforms to carry out kidnappings and executions to divert blame toward Mexican authorities. Those gunmen, outfitted with their own version of the Mexican Navy uniform, were the hitmen who tried to ambush the troops carrying out security operations.

'Undocumented': Photos From the Immigration War
Photographer John Moore discusses his new book chronicling the militarization of the U.S.-Mexico border.

Few issues get Americans more worked up than undocumented immigration. In a February 2018 Gallup poll, 15 percent of Americans (25 percent of Republicans, 6 percent of Democrats) said immigration is the most critical problem facing the United States ― topped only by concerns about governmental dysfunction. When it comes to covering the key stakeholders in the conversation, meanwhile, few can boast as much time on the ground, chronicling what immigration really looks like, as Getty Images photographer John Moore. His new book, "Undocumented: Immigration and the Militarization of the United States-Mexico Border," spans 10 years of reportage on both sides of the geographic and political divide.

Here, Moore speaks with FOTO about his decade on the front lines of the immigration war.

New ‘Wall’ Construction on Southern Border
‘A Thing of Beauty’ and ‘Properly Designed’

President Donald Trump declared that his wall on the Southern border was officially underway,
praising it as a “thing of beauty.”

“We started building our wall. I’m so proud of it. We started,” Trump said, pointing to the pictures he posted on Twitter of the new border bollard fencing currently under construction in Calexico.

"Trump praised the $1.6 billion funding in the Omnibus spending bill for more bollard fencing as a “downpayment” of his promised wall on the southern border ..."

ILDEFONSO ORTIZ AND BRANDON DARBY - 30 Mar 2018

A caravan of more than 1,500 families including men, women, and children are making their way from Central America through Mexico and are expected to arrive at the US-Mexico Border in the coming days to request refugee status.

Known as the Viacrucis Migrante 2018, the caravan began on March 25 in the state of Chiapas and is expected to reach Tijuana within a month where the members of the group are expected to request refugee status from the U.S. government. The caravan is organized by the immigrant rights group Pueblo Sin Fronteras who have been posting updates about the caravan’s journey through Mexico.

The group is reportedly made up of families from Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras who are fleeing extreme poverty and gang violence. The group has been demanding a stop to the violence.

Quote
While the group is made up primarily of individuals who could be considered undocumented by Mexican authorities, officials have stepped aside, Mexico’s El Universal reported.

TRUMP~>"These big flows of people are all
trying to take advantage of DACA."

Trump Declares ‘No More DACA Deal,’
Border-Crossers Want ‘In On’ Amnesty

JOHN BINDER - 1 Apr 2018

On Easter Sunday, President Trump announced he would no longer be pursuing a deal with the Republican establishment and Democrats to give amnesty to at least 1.8 million illegal aliens in exchange for a few pro-American immigration reforms.

In a series of tweets, Trump signaled a return to his “America First” immigration agenda, mentioning that he will no longer try to negotiate a deal between the GOP establishment and Democrats on the issue of giving amnesty to potentially millions of illegal aliens shielded from deportation by the President Obama-created Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

Quote
“NO MORE DACA DEAL,” Trump wrote on Twitter, while also saying that Republicans “must go to Nuclear Option to pass tough” legislation that ends the “Catch and Release” program which releases border-crossers into the U.S. while they await trial:

"Getting more dangerous. 'Caravans coming." (Trump)
... The “caravans” Trump mentions to in the Twitter post refers to the approximately 1,500 Central Americans who are traveling through Mexico and will soon reach the U.S. border ...
In another tweet, Trump threatened to take the U.S. out of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)—where between 2000 and 2014, there have been about five million American manufacturing jobs lost—if Mexico did not crackdown on stopping migrants traveling through the country to take advantage of generous asylum and refugee laws in the U.S ...

Trump links US border wall to NAFTA renegotiation,
warns Mexico 'must stop drug, people flows'

President Donald Trump said Mexico must do more to stop the
flow of drugs and people across its border, claiming the country
is ridiculing U.S. weakness on the issue.

"They must stop ... or I will stop their cash cow, NAFTA," Trump tweeted.
Javier E. David

President Donald Trump on Sunday explicitly linked his proposal to build a barrier between the U.S. and Mexico to ongoing NAFTA negotiations, as he renewed a warning that the flow of illicit drugs and undocumented immigrants from the country "must stop."

Via Twitter, the president ripped the U.S.'s southern neighbor for doing "very little, if nothing" to stem illegal immigration and narcotics from flowing across the border. He repeated a threat he made earlier this year, warning that successful trade pact renegotiations may hinge on Mexico making efforts to secure its side of border.

Quote
For much of 2017, the White House floated the idea of a border adjustment tax on Mexican goods, a proposal that met stiff resistance in Congress before it was ultimately killed in tax reform talks. Meanwhile, talks to renegotiate the trade pact between the U.S., Canada and Mexico have gotten increasingly contentious. In theory, a NAFTA termination letter would start the countdown for a 6-month process to abrogate the pact. However, some think Washington could use such a move to gain leverage over Canada and Mexico.

In January, Mexico threatened to leave the negotiations altogether if Trump triggered the process to withdraw from the pact.

Mexico Presidential Candidates Open Race Slamming Trump

BREITBART NEWS - 1 Apr 2018

Ciudad Juárez (Mexico) (AFP) – Mexico’s top presidential candidates launched their campaigns Sunday vowing to take a harder line against Donald Trump, with the leftist front-runner vowing his country is done being the US president’s “pinata.”

Just as candidates were putting the finishing touches on their opening campaign speeches for Mexico’s July 1 elections, Trump crashed the kick-off party via Twitter, accusing the country of doing “very little” to stop illegal migration and drugs, and renewing his threat to axe the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

The veteran leftist leading in the polls, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, and his conservative rival, Ricardo Anaya, both hit back hard at the Republican president, whose anti-Mexican diatribes and insistence that Mexico pay for his planned border wall have made him supremely unpopular here.

Quote
“Let this be heard near and far: neither security issues nor social problems can be resolved with walls,” he said, condemning Trump’s “mistaken foreign policy” and “contemptuous attitude toward Mexicans.”

Because then they could keep the illegals in Canada, or the people in Canada trying to illegally enter out. :)

And it would also protect Canada from the remaining illegals in the US trying to exit. :D

Agreed.  But then we face, like I am sure is happening already------>boat drop offs on our shores.  We need to stop the free giveaway of drivers licenses which in turn allows illegals to gain documentation such as birth certificates, citizen papers and passports.  Also, unless born to USA citizen parents, the child born should not be an automatic USA citizen.

Immigrants need to be accepted for a citizenship program, or sent back.  Those accepted for the citizenship program need to become a citizen through learning English, American Culture, American History and American law and a study of the Constitution.  They need to be vetted for exactly why they are coming here and if they are compatable -- namely, do they like America and Americans?  During this quarantine time they can be looked at for medical conditions and treated for diseases, along with getting de-loused.  The quarantine education and health watch sound like a good function for fema camps.  Then, when they pass for USA citizenship (which includes a money-providing, already-citizen "sponsor"), they can be released to join our populace.

The above scenario of legal pathway to becoming an American Citizen should be accomplished by paperwork application BEFORE they try to come into our country.  This is the earmark of what might become a responsible citizen.  If they cannot accomplish this, then forget it.  All others should simply be turned away at the border.

... Mexico officials caving under pressure from DJT?

Mexico Says It Will Disband The Caravan, But
Organizers Say Some Of Its Members Will Continue North

Mexico says it will let pregnant women and people with disabilities stay while
others must leave. But caravan organizers declare victory, saying officials
finally have recognized its members have the right to seek asylum.

Adolfo Flores

Mexico’s National Institute of Immigration (INM) said late Monday that it plans by Wednesday to disband a caravan of hundreds of Central American migrants that has been traveling through Mexico for nine days.

Caravan organizers said, however, they expect at least some of the migrants to continue north to the US border. They estimate that most of them will seek asylum or some type of protection in Mexico or the US.

"At the end of the day these people have the right to ask for asylum,” said Gina Garibo, one of the organizers for Pueblos Sin Fronteras, the volunteer group that organized the caravan.

She denied the caravan was over. "We have to follow through with our promise" to help people gain asylum in the United States or Mexico, she said. Migrants would continue moving but in smaller groups than the caravan.

Another organizer, Alex Mensing, called the Mexican action a victory for the caravan, saying organizers had successfully persuaded the Mexican government to allow caravan members to apply for asylum in the United States and Mexico.

“Don’t be fooled, the government isn’t ‘disbanding’ it, it’s conceding its participants’ right to apply for asylum without traveling in the shadows,” he said.

Still, hundreds of the migrants are expected to accept Mexico's offer to allow the most vulnerable among them to stay. A federal delegate with INM who gave only his last name, Rodríguez, told BuzzFeed News that humanitarian visas would go to vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, people with disabilities, or people with chronic illnesses like HIV.

Everyone else will have to petition the Mexican government to stay
in the country or they will be ordered to leave, he said.

South Texas Border Patrol Agents Overwhelmed
by Illegal Border Crossers, Says Agent

BOB PRICE - 3 Apr 2018

Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector continue to be overwhelmed by the numbers of illegal border crossers, they say. The sector continues to lead the nation in Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC), Family Unit Aliens (FMUA), and total apprehensions.

A wall for this sector is necessary and needs to happen now,” Border Patrol Agent Chris Cabrera told Breitbart Texas in an interview. Cabrera spoke to Breitbart Texas in his capacity as vice president of the National Border Patrol Council Local 3307. “Walls will take time to build but there are things we need to do now, in the interim, to improve border security in this sector.”

We are seeing huge numbers this year,” Agent Cabrera stated. “The numbers in February were much higher than the same month in the previous two years.”

In February, agents in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector apprehended 9,603 illegal immigrants, according to information obtained by Breitbart Texas from U.S. Customs and Border Protection sources. These arrests include the apprehension of 1,387 unaccompanied minors and 3,222 partial families.

"...  we don’t have the manpower ..."

During the first six months of this fiscal year (which began on October 1, 2017), CBP reports indicate that RGV Sector agents apprehended more than 52,000 illegal immigrants. Of those, agents arrested more than 7,000 UACs and at least 20,000 FMUAs.

Quote
Border Patrol agents are frequently assaulted while on duty, Breitbart Texas reported. During the first six months of Fiscal Year 2018, CBP indicated that illegal aliens assaulted more than 230 agents.

The only immigration that should be allowed is PLANNED immigration through paperwork application that has been accepted toward working to become an American citizen.  Acceptance for immigration should include the idea that they are still immigrants and not American citizens and that they need to become American citizens to stay in America.  Acceptance should include them having a sponsor to financially support them and get them going with a job when they pass the courses below and have become American citizens.

The first stop inside our country should be a quarantine situation like our 800 manned and operating, empty, fema camps could provide (that we are paying for).  This first stop at the fema camp should also include education that needs to be passed in order to become an American citizen:

1. Learn to read and write the English language spoken in America
2. Course on the History of USA
3. Course on the political system of USA
4. Course on the USA Constitution and American Rights
5. Course in understanding USAmerican culture
6. Course on living in a modern home, running a washing machine, learning to shop, keep a bank account, pay bills.
7. Wellness check, medical exam, treat disease, de-louse.  If they have TB, they go back.
8. Course on acceptable dress, behavior, basic manners.
9. Research into their family history so it is known and documented who they are, and who their family is,  in the originating country.  We have too many with the same surname who took these names in order to fake documention.

If the paperwork application process cannot be accomplished, and the courses not passed, they probably would not make desirable American citizens and they can go back.

All others not already going through a paperwork application process for American citizenship, described above,  should simply be turned away at the border.

Trump to Mobilize National Guard

The White House confirmed late Tuesday that it will deploy the
National Guard to help secure the U.S. border with Mexico.

The statement said:

Quote
Last week, the President received a briefing from senior administration officials on the growing influx of illegal immigration, drugs and violent gang members from Central America, and directed a vigorous administrative strategy to confront this threat and protect America’s national security.

Today, he received a follow up briefing to discuss his administration’s strategy, which includes the mobilization of the National Guard. President Trump and senior officials present also agreed on the need to pressure Congress to urgently pass legislation to close legal loopholes exploited by criminal trafficking, narco-terrorist and smuggling organizations.

Among those briefing the President were Defense Secretary James Mattis, Homeland Security Secretary Kirsten Nielsen, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs General Joseph Dunford, Chief of Staff John Kelly, and other senior White House officials.

“We’re going to be doing things militarily,”
Trump said Tuesday at a White House meeting.
“Until we can have a wall and proper security, we’re going to be guarding our border with the military.”

The Trump mobilization stands in sharp contrast to the welcome policies set by former President Barack Obama. Those policies allowed more than 400,000 Central American economic migrants into the United States to plead for asylum designed to help persecuted individuals.

The White House confirmed late Tuesday that it will deploy the
National Guard to help secure the U.S. border with Mexico.

The statement said:

“We’re going to be doing things militarily,”
Trump said Tuesday at a White House meeting.
“Until we can have a wall and proper security, we’re going to be guarding our border with the military.”

The Trump mobilization stands in sharp contrast to the welcome policies set by former President Barack Obama. Those policies allowed more than 400,000 Central American economic migrants into the United States to plead for asylum designed to help persecuted individuals.

extending the Coast Guard authority to
land-locked borders?

... at any rate, Trump has to find what he
can do without the Congress ... or the Courts.

Trump to Deploy National Guard to Border (https://www.trunews.com/stream/trump-to-deploy-national-guard-to-border)

Administration officials say a “staggering” increase in illegal crossings is prompting the president’s actions.

Through Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen earlier today, the White House announced that President Donald Trump has directed the departments of homeland security and defense to make arrangements to deploy National Guard units to the southern border.

Two senior administration officials later briefed the media on the president’s decision, saying that a “staggering” increase in illegal border crossings has prompted him to take action. Currently, there are two efforts underway.

On one side, the DHS and DoD are working with border states to draft memoranda of understanding to lay out the National Guard’s mission. Unlike previous border deployments, however, DHS is describing what kind of missions need to be fulfilled and DoD is determining how many troops to send based on those needs.

All of the border governors have been consulted. One senior administration official said the White House is confident they all will “take advantage of the chance to cooperate with the first tangible efforts at border control.

The other effort involves Capitol Hill, where the other senior administration official acknowledged that Democrats have served as obstructionists despite their attempts to eschew the label of “party of open borders.” He said they will get their chance to prove they are not an open-borders party later this spring, or this summer, when immigration becomes the top issue facing Congress.
The official added:

“Democrats will have a chance to demonstrate if they want to become the party of open borders; if they do, I think voters will strongly urge them to reconsider that position.”

Neither official wanted to “telegraph” the administration’s moves with regard to troop strengths, positions, or tactics knowing that drug cartels and human traffickers monitor the mainstream media Their message, however, was that “now is not a good time to try to come into the U.S. illegally.”

Trump signs memo ending 'catch and release' immigration policy
APRIL 6, 2018 - Eric Beech

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump signed a memorandum on Friday ordering the end of a policy, known as “catch and release,” in which illegal immigrants are released from detention while awaiting a court hearing on their status.

As part of the memo, Trump asked Defense Secretary Jim Mattis to produce a list of military facilities that could be used to detain illegal immigrants.

... this was published on whitehouse.gov on
April 2nd, just a few days before Trump's
order to end the STUPID practice and
to ready military facilities to receive and
detain apprehensions:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What You Need to Know About Catch and Release
Issued on: April 2, 2018
WHAT:
Our immigration system continues to encourage and allow an influx of aliens to illegally cross our borders and resettle in American communities.
Porous borders, legal loopholes, and insufficient immigration enforcement resources allow aliens to illegally cross our borders and often prevent their removal once here. Waves of Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) and Family Units have been exploiting these weaknesses in our immigration system for years in order to enter and remain in the country.
Since fiscal year (FY) 2016, more than 107,000 UACs have been released into the interior of the United States.
2,895 UACs were released into the U.S. in February 2018 alone, bringing the total for FY 2018 thus far to 13,186. Once released, most UACs remain here by failing to either show up for court hearings or comply with removal orders. As a result, only 3.5 percent of UACs who are apprehended are eventually removed from the U.S. The surge of UACs entering and remaining in the U.S. is in addition to the more than 167,000 Family Units which were apprehended between FY 2016 and February 2018. Nearly all apprehended family units are also released into the U.S. due to judicially-imposed constraints on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s authority to detain them.
This flow of illegal aliens into American communities stands to only grow as a caravan of hundreds of Central Americans currently traveling through Mexico heads toward the U.S. border.
WHY:
Catch and release loopholes encourage more and more illegal immigration into the U.S.
Catch and release loopholes, which are the result of statutory and judicial obstacles, encourage illegal immigration into the U.S. and prevent the removal of aliens once they are here. Currently, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) can only detain UACs for a few days before releasing them to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for resettlement into the United States. Immigration enforcement efforts are further hamstrung by the fact that current federal law exempts UACs from non-contiguous countries, such as El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras, from being promptly returned to their home countries. This results in nationals from these and other countries entering and never leaving.
Foreign nationals see how easy it is to enter the United States, and how hard it is for federal immigration authorities to remove aliens who enter illegally, and are accordingly drawn to the United States. In the absence of lasting solutions to the problems that riddle our immigration system, we can only expect the flow of illegal immigration into our country to continue.
Migrant Surge Yields 82 Assaults on
Border Patrol Agents in February
BOB PRICE - 9 Apr 2018
Illegal immigrants crossing the border assaulted more than 80 Border Patrol agents in February. The incidents account for more than 85 percent of the assaults on U.S. Customs and Border Protection law enforcement officers.
During the first six months of Fiscal Year 2018, CBP officials reported assaults on 312 Border Patrol agents, according to a CBP report released on April 6. Eighty-two of those occurred in February, a month where the apprehension of migrants crossing the border jumped by 203 percent over the same period in 2017.
Sessions promised swift and sure prosecution for any illegal immigrant assaulting an agent during an April 2017 speech to agents and CBP officers in Arizona, Breitbart Texas reported. Political killings shake Mexico election
Reuters - Lizbeth Diaz - April 17, 2018
CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico (Reuters) - Magda Rubio had just launched her campaign for mayor of a small city in northern Mexico, when a chilling voice came through her cell phone. "Drop out," the caller warned, "or be killed."
It was the first of four death threats Rubio said she has received since January from the same well-spoken, anonymous man. She has stayed in the race in Guachochi, located in a mountainous region of Chihuahua state that is a key route for heroin trafficking. But two armed body guards now follow her round the clock.
"At 2 a.m., you start to get scared, and you say,
'something bad is going on here'," she said.
An explosion of political assassinations in Mexico has cast a pall over nationwide elections slated for July 1, when voters will choose their next president and fill a slew of down-ballot posts.
Quote
Four were slain in the past week alone. They include Juan Carlos Andrade Magana, who was running for re-election as mayor of the hamlet of Jilotlan de los Dolores, located in Mexico's western Jalisco state. His bullet-ridden body was discovered Sunday morning inside his Toyota Prius on the edge of town; Andrade had just attended a funeral. State prosecutors are investigating, but have made no arrests.
Responding from a call for assistance from HSI, Border Patrol agents and Laredo police
apprehended 6 illegal immigrants at a residence on San Luis Street in south Laredo.
The group was comprised of men, women and children from the countries of
Guatemala, Mexico and Honduras.
Border Patrol agents along with the Laredo Police Department responded Thursday to a request for assistance from Homeland Security Investigations regarding suspicious activity at a residence on San Luis Street.
A total of 56 undocumented immigrants, including men, women and children, were found inside the residence. They were determined to be from Guatemala, Mexico and Honduras. All were processed accordingly. Homeland Security Investigations has the lead in the investigation.
"The partnerships in Laredo between the United States Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations and the Laredo Police Department continue to show results in disrupting criminal organizations from operating in South Texas. We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to prosecute those responsible and prevent individuals from being subjected to deplorable conditions," said Laredo Sector Assistant Chief Patrol Agent Gabriel Acosta.
Migrant 'caravan' at U.S.-Mexico
border prepares for mass crossing
Reuters/Delphine Schrank - 26 April 2018
TIJUANA, Mexico, April 25 (Reuters) - Hundreds of Central American migrants from a caravan that crossed Mexico reunited in Tijuana on Wednesday and planned to cross the border together this weekend in defiance of threats by U.S. President Donald Trump to repel them.
The timing of the migrants arrival could compromise a flurry of talks this week to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), which Trump has repeatedly threatened to scrap if Mexico does not crack down on the flow of Central Americans through its territory.
Busloads of migrants began arriving on Tuesday at a shelter that was a five minute-walk from the border and within sight of a U.S. flag waving under an overpass connecting the two countries.
While many rested in tents after a month-long journey across Mexico, others wandered up to the border to contemplate the next stage in their journey.
"The wall doesn't look that tall," said Kimberly George, a 15-year-old girl from Honduras as she looked toward a stunted barrier a few feet away. "I really want to cross it."
It was unclear if concerns about immigration could affect the talks. On Monday, Trump threatened to make immigration controls a condition in the NAFTA talks and demanded that Mexico stop people from crossing its territory to enter the United States.
'Breathtaking homicidal violence':
Latin America in grip of murder crisis
Region has experienced 2.5 million murders since 2000 and
report paints bleak picture of extreme violence and deteriorating security
Latin America has suffered more than 2.5m murders since the start of this century and is facing an acute public security crisis that demands urgent and innovative solutions, a new report warns.
“The sheer dimensions of homicidal violence are breathtaking,” says the report by the Igarapé Institute, a Brazil-based thinktank focused on security and development issues.
The publication, released on Thursday, paints a bleak portrait of what it calls the world’s most homicidal continent.
Latin America suffers 33% of the world’s homicides despite having only 8% of its population. One-quarter of all global homicides are concentrated in four countries – Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela – all of which are gearing up for presidential elections in which security is a dominant theme.
“The overall trend right now in Latin America is one of increasing homicides and deteriorating security,” said Robert Muggah, one of the report’s authors.
Quote
“Latin America is a large area and there are lots of variations. But as a region – including Mexico down to Central America and South America – the rate of homicide is set to continue increasing up until 2030. The only other places we are seeing similar kinds of increases are in parts of southern and central Africa and some war zones.”
Jessica Vaughan:
Trump Should Declare Migrant Caravan ‘an Immigration
Emergency,’ Build Tent City Detention Centers
ROBERT KRAYCHIK - 26 Apr 2018
Jessica Vaughan, the director of policy studies at the Center for Immigration Studies, recommended the Trump administration declare an “immigration emergency” and begin construction of tent city detention centers to address the potential increase in illegal border crossings from the migrant caravan traveling through Mexico for the U.S. border.
Vaughan offered her remarks in a Wednesday interview on Breitbart News Tonight with SiriusXM hosts Rebecca Mansour and Joel Pollak.
Mansour quoted Department of Homeland Secretary Kirstjen M. Nielsen’s statement that the caravan migrants attempting to enter the United States illegally “will be referred for prosecution,” and those who are legally seeking asylum at a point of entry “may be detained while their claims are adjudicated efficiently and expeditiously” and “will be promptly removed from the United States” if their claims are fraudulent.
Mansour asked Vaughan to explain what federal authorities are doing to expeditiously adjudicate the asylum claims from the caravan’s estimated 600 migrants approaching the California point of entry.
Vaughan replied, “There are a number of things they could do. I don’t think they want to tip their hand too much  because there’s also a caravan of lawyers that’s been recruited from the United States to go meet the caravan of migrants. I don’t think that their choice of Tijuana as a crossing point is just random. I think it’s because they want to try to get into California where there will be more sympathetic judges for the inevitable lawsuit against violating their fundamental human right to an American citizen, as they put it.”
Vaughan explained.
“Just showing up at the turnstile is not getting into the
United States, so they can be denied entry right then and
there if they’re not found to be eligible to enter. None of them have visas."
Asylum-seekers in Mexico snub
warnings of stern US response
ELLIOT SPAGAT
TIJUANA, Mexico (AP)U.S. immigration lawyers are telling Central Americans in a caravan of asylum-seekers that traveled through Mexico to the border with San Diego that they face possible separation from their children and detention for many months. They say they want to prepare them for the worst possible outcome.
“We are the bearers of horrible news,” Los Angeles lawyer Nora Phillips said during a break from legal workshops for the migrants at three Tijuana locations where about 20 lawyers gave free information and advice. “That’s what good attorneys are for.”
The Central Americans, many traveling as families, on Sunday will test the Trump administration’s tough rhetoric criticizing the caravan when the migrants begin seeking asylum by turning themselves in to border inspectors at San Diego’s San Ysidro border crossing, the nation’s busiest.
President Donald Trump and members of his Cabinet have been tracking the caravan, calling it a threat to the U.S. since it started March 25 in the Mexican city of Tapachula, near the Guatemala border. They have promised a stern, swift response.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions called the caravan “a deliberate attempt to undermine our laws and overwhelm our system,” pledging to send more immigration judges to the border to resolve cases if needed.
NUEVO LAREDO, Tamaulipas — A series of raids by Mexican military forces in the downtown area of Nuevo Laredo uncovered a cache of military-grade weapons. Those weapons include rocket launchers, grenades, dynamite sticks, machine guns, rifles, and several cloned Mexican infantrymen uniforms and vest.
Migrant caravan gathers on U.S.-Mexico
border before asylum bids
Delphine Schrank
Quote
The month-long caravan that at one point gathered 1,500 immigrants from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador drew the wrath of President Donald Trump during its journey through Mexico.
Trump pressured Mexico to stop the migrants before they reached the border, linking Mexican efforts to stem the flow of Central Americans to the future of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) currently being renegotiated in Washington.
The remaining 400 or so members of the caravan now face hard choices, whether to cross illegally into the United States, ask for asylum at the border or try to remain in Mexico.
This is all a continuation of CIA/Rockefeller/Rothschild Allen Dulles and the globalist plans ...
https://www.unitedfruit.org/guevara.htm
Ernesto Guevara was an Argentine revolutionary leader and theorist. He is better known by the nickname of "El Ché". He was born in Rosario, Argentina, the oldest son of upper-middle-class parents with leftist political leanings. He interrupted his medical studies at the Universidad de Buenos Aires at 24 to undertake a motorcycle and hitch-hiking tour of South America. He travelled throughout Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and Venezuela and wrote a journal of his trip that is nowadays considered a classic in Latin American travel literature. After his tour, Guevara returned to Argentina and completed the requirements for his degree in medicine.
Once he finished his studies, he went back to cross the continent northward. The conditions of the lower classes he observed in several countries reinforced his basically left-wing views. Eventually, his odyssey took him to Guatemala. Here he became an interested witness to the revolutionary program of President Jacobo Arbenz. Arbenz attempted to do deep social reforms in Guatemala in order to create radical changes in an inequalitarian and stagned society.
As part of his reforms, Arbenz considered the expropriation of the uncultivated lands of the United Fruit Company to be re-distributed to poor peasants. However, Arbenz's efforts faced the opposition of several members of the Army, the United Fruit Company, the landowning class, and the United States Department of State.
In June of 1954, a group of rebels, sponsored by the CIA, and led by the Guatemalan colonel Carlos Castillo invaded the country from neighbouring Honduras with the goal of putting an end to Arbenz's reforms.
Guevara, who was a strong sympathizer of Arbenz regime offered his services to the government volunteering to create milicias to strike back Castillo's forces.
However, the defense Arbenz's followers organized was too weak, and Guevara sought political refuge in the Argentine Embassy and soon managed to cross the border into Mexico.
The military coup against Arbenz was a threshold in Guevara's life tha convinced him that the Latin American peoples had no other choice different from the revolutionary armed struggle to end with their poverty and political opression. Once in Mexico he joined a group of exiled revolutionaries led by Fidel Castro. Clandestine military training followed. Guevara participated in the Castro group's seaborne landing on the coast of Oriente Province, Cuba, in December 1956. During Castro's struggle against Fulgencio Batista's government Guevara served as a doctor and military commander with the rank of major.
Amid ‘Migrant Caravan,’ Apprehensions Along
Mexican Border Increase for 4th Month
BOB PRICE3 May 2018
While media focused on a few hundred “caravan migrants” in April, the number of apprehensions of people illegally crossing the U.S. southwest border with Mexico continued to increase for the fourth straight month. Following a spike in March, the number of apprehensions increased in April by nearly three percent.
Border Patrol agents arrested 38,234 illegal immigrants who crossed the border between ports of entry in April. This is up from 37,383 in March, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Southwest Border Migration Report issued on Thursday. While this represents an increase of just under three percent from March, it is a 43 percent increase over April 2017.
Apprehensions of Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) and Family Unit Aliens (FMUA) increased as well.
In March, Border Patrol agents arrested 4,153 UAC. In April, that number increased to 4,314, the report states. FMUA apprehensions rose slightly from 8,873 in March to 9,647 in April.
During the first seven months of Fiscal Year 2018, agents arrested 211,824 along the southwest border between ports of entry. In FY 2017, agents arrested 303,916 for the entire year.
