Chertoff: "We could imagine generic attacks, but obviously no one could imagine this specific attack"

Really?

Is that a fact?

Is that why the National Reconaissance Office was running a war game involving the flying of aircraft into buildings on 9/11/2001?  Is that why the CIA leaked the plot for the Lone Gunman pilot? Is that why the Pentagon has a model with an airplane in the center of it years before 9/11? Is that why Ptech had power to control aircraft via their FAA risk management software and were running this scenario on 9/11?

This is fricking bizarro world.

Yes an unimaginable attack, so long as you ignore all the people that had already imagined it...  Like best-selling author Tom Clancy who wrote about a jet air-liner being deliberately flown into the U.S. Capitol building - seven years before 9/11.
The book was called "Debt of Honor".  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debt_of_Honor
