Butler Man Gets Prison After Big Gun Seizure

PITTSBURGH -- A Butler County man was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court to two months in prison and three years of probation for violating federal gun laws.

Curt Radovich, 39, of Butler, had hundreds of guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition at his home on Sixth Avenue, according to the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Radovich was unable to own guns because of an assault conviction. Authorities said he also illegally sold firearms.
More than 300 rifles, handguns and assault-type weapons were seized from his home on Feb. 7, 2008. At the time, the ATF said it was one of the largest seizures in the state.
On Jan. 10, 2008, in Greensburg, Radovich sold two handguns to two undercover agents posing as convicted felons and an informant who is a convicted felon, according to an affidavit.
"Radovich explained that he goes to gun shows to buy guns and people often don't care about paperwork. He further advised that his guns are not registered to anyone" and that he had plenty of other guns to sell, "maybe 100 of them or so," the affidavit said.
