I really hope you are right but that would mean denying 2500 years of history.Alexander the Great led one of the largest armies the world has ever seen who expanded their hegemony right across the whole region,except for one place that he gave up on AFGHANISTAN.The British army at the height of their imperial power tried twice to take Afghanistan and were routed both times.The Russians have been trying to control Afghanistan for centuries and have failed every time.
Iran hate the Taliban and the feeling is mutual but the Taliban is not where the problem ends.The border areas between Pakistan and Afghanistan could and maybe should be called Pashtunistan.Bin Laden and the Mujahadeen get all the credit for defeating the Russians but they were a small part of the jigsaw because the main part was the Pashtun,s who are a tribal warrior clan who follow the rule of Pashtunwali a 2500 year old code of honour.
