A word of caution to MySpace and Facebook users.

I just logged into my account today and found something very odd. I had over 30 PAGES of things in my inbox.

Thinking that this was very strange indeed, I checked it out and all the messages I’d EVER received, from 2006 until today, were in my inbox. Complete with pictures.

These are things that I deleted well over 3 years ago, and some were very sensitive and private correspondence. And there it was again, in my inbox.

Very interesting to say the least.

I think we can ascertain one thing from this, that MySpace, contrary to it’s official disclaimer that it does not permanently log or archive it’s user’s content is absolute bullshit to the highest degree. Facebook at least admits that it does it.

Be aware that anything you put on MySpace, just like Facebook, will be kept by your loving masters forever to see if there is anything that can possibly be used against you.

I did not suggest that everyone would be experiencing this problem. My data was obviously and intentionally restored for nefarious purposes. It doesn't mean that YOURS will be. It's just a point that your data is RETAINED, even after you delete it, for YEARS.

My wife just checked her account, and same thing. Everything from the last 3 years came back. I wonder if these bastards can be sued...

Nah, their asses are covered. The ToS clearly state they can store your info, collect it from other sources both online and physical, and stick it all in their In-Q-Tel databases.

They count on people not reading the ToS.

Anybody who is fond of their personal privacy does not belong on FB or MS..

Wow, you are the first person I've chatted with outside of my wife and I that this has happened to. Do you have anything patriot related on your page at all?

I have quotes by Ron Paul and Thomas Jefferson, my interests list firearms, survivalism, and numerous spiritual and consciousness-expanding topics.  I also have Freeman and other patriots/researchers added to my friends list.

It'd be interesting to gather everyone who this has happened to and examine each profile to see what could have trigged it.

"yeh... we know who you are ... we know everything about you because of all the stuff u've put on the internet ... you're gonna rot in a fema camp!"

Oh well. At least we'd be in good company. Cheesy f**k 'em.

Everyone do me the favor of logging on to your Myspace (if you have one) and check your inbox, and report if anything has been restored that shouldn't have been, like from YEARS ago.

Also, please list what, if anything, you have on your page that you think might have triggered this so we can get a list going. Thus far it seems 'patriot' related, as the people all have that theme in common.

I have Ron Paul and Alex Jones stuff on my Myspace, and have rotated literally hundreds of videos linking to Ron Paul and Alex Jones stuff over the years. Also the big Obama Deception banner on my page is probably not making me any friends with the slaves of the elite... Wink

I can also confirm the data retention, and probably for the same things as you, Kain.

I logged in and had about 34 pages of previously delted stuff in my inbox.

I should also probably note that there are icons and links on my page for such movies as 300, V for Vendetta, Serenity and its TV series Firefly (which actually came before the movie).  And there are a few interesting people of note in my top friends space as well, among them the official myspaces of Ron Paul and Alex Jones.  In my videos I have the music video for "I Want My Bailout Money" by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger and NaturalNews editor, which calls out on the banker bailout.  And I also have the Bumper Stickers App, with examples of such funny stickers on my board as the one that says "I'll keep my guns, freedom, & money... YOU CAN KEEP THE 'CHANGE!'"

Yep, I guess it figures they'd go through my stuff, hope y'all enjoyed the reading, you bastitches.   Tongue

Nope. My Myspace is still clear.

But it affected your Facebook instead of your Myspace? These two occurences are obviously connected here in some way. Both are data collecting assets.

Wow I checked my FB and every single message I've ever received/deleted has come back to my inbox.
I have my political affiliation listed as a constitutionalist and my religion as "Christ Follower." :/

Follow the Reddit link, vote it up, and post there what you said here so this issue can get some public exposure.

http://www.reddit.com/r/reddit.com/comments/85ymk/logged_into_myspace_and_all_my_deleted_messages/

BTW my Facebook account hasn't been affected, only my Myspace account... which is strange because I have much more sensitive information on my Facebook.

Wow, for people so afraid of Big Brother, you guys sure put a lot of info on Facebook and Myspace. I'm on there in Facebook but, no pics of me (if you know me you should know what I look like), no threatening lists of interests (like Ron Paul or AJ), no work or home info, no political affiliation, no quotes...nothing. Just favorite music and bands.  I'm just on there to keep up with the latest info on my friends.

Not everyone needs to know about you and you shouldn't assist "the man" in being a target.

Definitely.  But try explaining that to a teenager.  Just deleted his MySpace - but he had been grounded from it since last year.  I just kept it up to spy on all his friends.   Cheesy Cheesy

And yes.....ALL his messages were there again - even the ones I had deleted in a parental fury this past summer.  Kids just have no idea how this stuff will come back to haunt them.  And their parents.

FACEBOOK is next!!!!! Grin Grin  (mwahaaa)

It's kind of hard to educate people if you watch your copy of the Obama Deception in your virtual closet, as it were.

Why would someone be 'afraid' of big brother? Folks that are doing nothing wrong have no problem saying they support the Constitution. Let the chips fall where they may. It's the folks that think that they are the 'invisible' resistance that are hiding under a rock and worried about big brother. (And yet, post HERE of all places, on Prisonplanet, which automatically puts your ass on the red list.) Wink

Yep. Sneakier than shit.

Does anyone know of a good site that we can upload a list to that we can then add to with multiple users?

Like wordpress or some such, can't think of it off hand.

I try to use normal speech to get that across since word of mouth travels..."That crazy Dudicus wants me to watch this video. Let me take a look at what he has to say now...." and it goes on and on and on...

PS...what red list???

There are so many spooks here on PP, both members and lurkers, that we could have our own company Halloween party.

Do you think they are here for the Alex Jones fanclub and monogrammed tinfoil beanie? I'd bet no.

I've run out of hands for (facepalms).

Care to buy a clue for $500 Alex?

Granted, that SHOULD be the case. But it isn't. We live in a day and age where it is official policy that if you frequently mention the Constitution you just may be a domestic terrorist. You don't talk about the Constitution, do you Dudicus?
