I live in Norfolk Virginia and work across the street from the federal building.  The same make and model FPS Homeland security vehicle is parked out front every morning with a German shepherd in the back.

i saw many of these vehicles, often in convoys, a few months ago. I posted sightings here but i suppose this is new for you all. There has been no emergency nor is there any Federal building in my area, other than the post office.

LMAO. Great work on the photos.

What the hell....

Is that a giant Dorito in the bottom right corner?

It's a leaf stuck in my windshield wiper.  Nice work removing it.

These images are extremely useful if you wanted to show people how something begins small but ends up big.  Homeland Security?  PERFECT.

These are vehicles sent out from Homeland Security as part of their new "Secure Communities" program.

====================   From the Dept. of Homeland Securities website:  www.ice.gov  =================
March 9, 2009

...
"US VISIT is proud to support the Secure Communities program, helping provide decision makers with comprehensive, reliable information when and where they need it," said US VISIT Director Robert Mocny. "By enhancing the interoperability of DHS's and the FBI's biometric systems, we are able to give federal, state and local decision makers information that helps them better protect our communities and our nation."

"Under this plan, ICE will be utilizing FBI system enhancements that allow improved information sharing at the state and local law enforcement level based on positive identification of incarcerated criminal aliens. Additionally, ICE and the FBI are working together to take advantage of the strong relationships already forged between the FBI and state and local law enforcement necessary to assist ICE in achieving their goals," said FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) former Assistant Director Tom Bush.

Secure Communities is a key facet of ICE's enforcement priority to identify, locate and remove criminal aliens and builds on the growing success of the agency's Criminal Alien Program. In fiscal year 2008, ICE identified more than 221,000 potentially removable aliens incarcerated nationwide. This fiscal year, the agency anticipates spending more than $1 billion on such efforts, which in addition to Secure Communities, also includes expansion of the agency's Criminal Alien Program and Fugitive Operations Program.

More information about ICE's Secure Communities program is available at www.ice.gov.

The Federal Protective Service (FPS) is the law enforcement division of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA).  GSA is a subcabinet level agency under the Executive Branch.  FPS is on permanent loan to DHS to fight the so called war on terror.  FPS generally provides protection to GSA facilities.  Do you have a GSA facility in your area by any chance?

1st time I have seen one of these in my small town.  The American Gestapo, i mean, Federal Police Vehicle.  Tongue

A federal occupation.Where have we seen this before?Only now, from what I am seeing in this thread,it isn't just southerners. For those from other countries or other parts of the USA,this is what happened to the south afterthe civil war-federal occupation.
I can't say anymore I am too heartbroken.

I know this thread is now a month old, but I had never seen one of these vehicles before either.  So, I'm driving around this afternoon doing the mom thing taking my kids home from the orthodontist and I look and there is one of these vehicles, its DHS Police, and I'm totally WTF...and I start to chase it down the freeway!  There is another one behind it, but it is different, like an Indian tribe name is on it...and I start yelling at my kids get the camera...and we are all screamin and laughing, and I'm chasing it...going 70 in a 55 chasing 2 cop cars for like 5 miles...so I can get a picture, and my kids can't get the camera to work, and the kids keep asking me whats wrong mommy, why is this bad...I'm like its illegal...why..because it is...why..how come..trust me, its bad...why... we can't stop laughing and we finally pull along side and we are so totally obvious, my little 12 year old daughter infowarrior is like taking a video and looking all cute and we are like smiling an waving and the cop guy looks at us like we have two heads...
Thank God for Alex.  If we had to do this all the time we'd forget the damn batteries, the kids would get in fight or barf in car or something.  All for a five second shaky video that is year old news.   Embarrassed
