If you like Adele...maybe listen to Lykke Li. Shes from Sweden. Very interesting sound. Poppy, electronic, different.

The Veronicas....only know what they look like [scenesters] so I would guess they play some sort of electronic music. I recommend Ladyhawke. All her music is fun and electronic and dancy. Her videos are awesome. Good stuff.

There are too many bands that sound like As I Lay Dying...so how about so metal that incorporates something different. Protest the Hero has awesome metal songs yet the singer sings in a very Iron Maiden-y kind of way but has an awesome growl. Also check out Between the Buried and Me.

But if you're looking for stuff to broaden your musical palette...here are some more:

The Knife- Bjork-style vocals, dark, ambient, dancy electronic. So freaking awesome
No Age- Punk inspired by 90s punk, grunge, and some shoegaze
My Bloody Valentine- back to shoegaze...listen to anything off of Loveless. Beautiful, haunting, euphoric music.
Pinback- Good solid music with an amazing singer, awesome melodies. Check out the song "From Nothing to Nowhere"
