Currently i am in the midst of a spat with my brother and his girlfriend.  He doesn't pay attention to politics and she is a prime example of an Obamanoid, the kool-aid mustache hasn't worn off.  It's pretty well known between us what my politics are and where i stand on Obama.  This lady has shouted me down before in a debate pre-election.  Of course she knew everything about obama and nothing of people like ron paul or cynthia mckinney or the like.  It really feels like because of her passion of obama and my lack there of that a serious rift between brothers is taking place.

Now the question is this.  When dealing with someone like this does the brainwashing they've recieved affect other aspects?  (I think so) Would it make it so, simply because of previous disagreements does it make me wrong every time thereafter?  Is this a common thing?

For those of us with logic, let's keep it and remain objective.  For those without, then i pity you.

I posted to quickly.  Allow me to add, what does logic do to these people in other arguements that don't even concern politics?

Interesting question. I think it's as simple as bad data in, bad data out. If you can't take the initiative to uncover information yourself, then you are at the mercy of the propagandists who will gladly shape the confines of your thoughts. It's powerful stuff in a very fast world.

Sounds like she obeys emotion rather than reason
Unless you can appeal to that, the two of you are gonna have to agree to put your political differences aside.
Fortunately, you have the strategic advantage in this argument, you can bring up 1000s of points proving a NWO that don't mention Obama. So my advice is agree to a ceasefire with her, then anytime that is fitting when you can talk about bohemian grove (republicans) or Bilderberg or the UN or whatever make sure you don't relate it to the current president

At this point i wouldn't bother bringing up politics with her.  She's shown a great deal of single sided info and hypocrisy...it'd be pointless.  I'm a conspiracy nut and she has a poster diagraming the government and at the bottom of it all is the Illuminati jews from the center of the earth.  It's kitchy i guess.  Appreciate the advice though.  It just seems like any logical person would have seen through the vague campaign promises...i've read (after the election) the article about the NLP and mass hypnosis he used and believe a great deal of it, having seen it's effects on people.

And considering that article (i forget the title but it was on this forum topic) how deep does the brainwashing go?  If he made so many illogically vote for him maybe he managed to get some people to abandon logic and follow blindly.  Only one person i knew questioned what he meant by 'change'.  It's pretty nuts out there, and change is coming mostly because it's inevitable.

with effective brainwashing any argument against the implanted information can cause the brainwashed person to act out violently, irrationally, and erratic. You need to understand this is a automated reaction. You are not speaking to the person but rather the programing.

To shatter the "programming" is a slow process. Think about people that have been in a cult for a long time
COUGH *scientology* COUGH...
cough *jonestown* cough

they have been so deeply and completely brainwashed to accept, believe and repeat the lies. Part of that brainwashing is the demand of the victim to stand up for the "lie" failure to do so is BAD. *terrorist* Everyone has the need to belong, it is a human need.

But again remember you are dealing with the programming, not the person. It is a sad but real reality.
