I'm having problems with grabbing vids and converting them ; HELP plz

Ok, so up until two days ago, I had NO PROBLEMS using the software I have, and now, NONE of them will work all of a sudden. I currently use Youplayer to get the flv files from youtube, then I convert using freeflvconverter and usually, this process works fine, no problem. Two days ago, the youplayer stopped working all of a sudden, and so I started using Replay media catcher. Then, after a day or so, the freeflvconverter started having problems converting the files I'd get from replay media catcher. I tried using the converter on the replay media catcher, but it only converts to .mp4 format, which I can't use on my movie maker. WTH?

The freeflv converter thing has an update available, but when i try to update it, it says "code 5--access denied".

Can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong, or suggest new programs for me to use? This is getting EXTREMELY frustrating.

Yeah, I'm using it right now. I'm gonna go ahead and pay the $4 for a week of service, to get me through the next few days until my husband can re-format my hard drive. He thinks that's the problem. Thanks!

good to hear, its a decent stream ripping site. cpu directx flash problems are a pain.

Before you go and re-format your hd, try to uninstall both Youplayer and freeflvconverter. Reinstall and see if that works. Otherwise, if like any of my machines it takes me a whole day to strip one down and reinstall everything. Pain in the butt

Yeah, I tried uninstalling EVERYTHING, even mozilla, but it still was acting up. So, looks like we're gonna have to re-format it.

Any luck? Another program that you might find useful is "super c". I have been testing it out with some good and bad results. The bad results were trying to split apart .flv files into smaller segments. For some reason it doesn't parse the information correctly.

freeflvconverter is junk.  i paid the $15 reg for the "free" program and now it won't work.  Even after reloading it.  I found some good ones at http://www.pazera-software.com.  I was also using mediacoder, but I wanted something a little more simple.

what not  just use keepvid, its just rips straight to Mp4 or flv if you like? what are you converting them to?

Well, I've been horribly busy the last few months, so I haven't been able to make any lately. Probably why youtube still hasn't suspended my account yet, lol. My vids don't have that many views, so that "helps" too, I guess.

VideoGet is a fantastic program used to take videos from YouTube and convert them to AVI, WMV, iPOD, iPHONE, PSP, DVD, XVID, etc. It gives you control over Width/Height, Audio quality, Video encoder, etc.
