Great endorsement for the First Amendment of the Constitution.

The amendment prohibits the making of any law "respecting an establishment of religion", impeding the free exercise of religion, infringing on the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press, interfering with the right to peaceably assemble or prohibiting the petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances.

Jim Carey who proves in this film he can do some real kick ass acting and is not only a goofy face morphing comic figure.

Great portrayel of the atmosphere just after WO II in a small American town.

I very much enjoyed "The Road" and appreciated the peek into a desolate world and thought Duvall was awesome as well as the two leading actors /patriots, actually Guy Pearce was spot on target too.
I thought the end was magical.

I think he was referring to the inferences to "climate collapse" or "2012" in the film. I.e. The old man (Robert Duval) says "I knew this was coming. This or something like it. There were warnings. Some people thought it was a con. I always believed in it."

Looking forwards to this, i find ancient mythology fascinating, i did enjoy the original (got it on bluray too), and i'm a fan of big-effects movies also.

I mean just think about it - the movie industry in Hollywood et al is NOT making much profits doing this, where all the consumers of DVD Flicks et al are pretty much seeing movies for ALMOST FREE.

Ultimately, ISN'T IT PRETTY OBVIOUS? The New World Order is BEGGING everyone to be brainwashed by their agendas they put in their products to condition the public for future cataclystic(sp) events et al.

Sounds about right, I do notice prices are so much lower..  This is just going to brainwash the sheeple even more, but I'm doing my best to spread the message moreso than ever.. I'm sure ALMOST everyone here, can watch/listen,etc to any of this and it not brainwash us.

I still don't get why the elite would pre condition us , why not just surprise us? We stand for all sorts of crap as it is , so why slowly get us used to trauma...? I just can't wrap my mind around that. it would seem that the best way to confound the masses would be to thouroughly surprise us. FWIW-I was a big movie buff in the 1990's, and visited the megaplexas frequently, as well as read regularly all these rag entertainment mags like EW, Premiere, Movieline, etc.

Back then, when we had a GREAT economy, all the talk that came out of the entertainment media was concern over "over-inflated" budgets, as well as skyrocketing actors' salaries. But NOW with a BAD economy at hand in recent years? We've had quite a few movies near the $200m budget range, and NOT a debate, or even a word of complaint about this issue.

For example, "I am Legend" was set to go in the late 90's with the Governator at one point, but supposedly a skyrocketing budget shelved it. Fast-forward several years later, it gets made with no problems with an even higher budget than was initially wanted with a high priced actor in the starring role. Coincidence that this NWO-themed movie was "shelved" way back when, only to be made around the same time when the elite wants to unleash this false flag H1N1 virus? There were quite a few others like "Hulk" and "X-Men" with NWO-themes that were shelved then, and got made and released since the turn of the century.

Ultimately, all this other "talk" mentioned above is nothing but just that...TALK to DISTRACT the masses into a debate in another direction, when the real issues that should be brought out end up being put on the backburner.

If you look around you can find some really old scare tactic commercials about swine flu from back then. Why bother to condition us though? that's the part that's puzzling to me. I mean you make some good points about the timing , it's just counterintuitive as far as control imo.

I mean you make some good points about the timing , it's just counterintuitive as far as control imo.

Well, as much as I hate to admit it, it's worked on me - for example, the morning of 9/11 I turned on the tv, while I thought it as serious, at the same time, I didn't think it was THAT serious, and would pass in a couple of weeks. And when I walked into my first class in college in the morning, noone, I mean NOONE was buzzing about what happened in NYC, and my professor acted like "business is usual". Lunch time, same thing, no buzzing around me in the cafeteria. But it wasn't until my afternoon class when my professor was the first person that expressed alot of concern, because his girlfriend's brother was in one of the buildings. That's when the alarm hit me that day, and ended up watching the news all night to see developments after I got home.

Ultimately, I thought I was watching the 1994 movie "True Lies" again when I saw the footage in the morning, and others around me have commented over the next several months how they thought they were watching a movie when they initially saw it. Yeah - after watching many movies/tv shows with terrorist plots, violence, NYC based stuff showing the Twin Towers et al, it was as if I was de-sensithized...and big time. I talked about this with a guy a knew then, and we both agreed. And also throw in many other terrorist-related events with lots of news coverage like OKC bombing and Columbine, and it also felt like "been there, done that, and burned out".

Again, I'm not speaking for everyone, but including myself, this seems to be the mentality of everyone on the day of 9/11 initially - apathy, de-sensithized, business as usual, you name it - ultimately, programming in the media has played a large part in this.

In the original novel people became vampires because of genetic manipulation. It was quite prophetic in that it predicted a plague that was transferred in the blood like AIDS.

Matheson is an interesting character and worth researching.
