LaRouche Congratulates President Obama For Kicking Fascist Out of the White House

February 15, 2009 (LPAC)--Lyndon LaRouche today congratulated President Barack Obama for being the first President since the 1930s to kick a fascist out of the White House. LaRouche was referring to media reports that one of President Obama's first acts, upon being inaugurated, was to remove a bust of Winston Churchill, that had been loaned to President George W. Bush by the British government, right after the 9/11 attacks. Despite offers from the British government for the President to keep the bust, President Obama had the statue delivered promptly to the residence of the British Ambassador, where it now sits.

``I applaud the President's actions,'' LaRouche declared today. ``After all, Winston Churchill was a notorious sponsor and admirer of the Italian Fascist, Benito Mussolini. I heartily agree that there is no place in the White House for any icon to the pro-Fascist Churchill.''

- Quotable Quotes -

While a great effort has been expended to conceal the depth of the Churchill-Mussolini collaboration, LaRouche noted, more and more evidence has come to the surface, revealing the mutual admiration and collusion. LaRouche cited an exemplary Jan. 20, 1927 speech by Churchill in Rome, in which he heaped praise on the Fascist dictator (as cited in Nicholson Baker's Human Smoke: The Beginnings of World War II and the End of Civilization}, Simon and Schuster, New York, 2008):

``I could not help being charmed, like so many other people have been, by Signor Mussolini's gentle and simple bearing and by his calm, detached poise in spite of so many burdens and dangers. Secondly, anyone could see that he thought of nothing but the lasting good, as he understood it, of the Italian people, and that no lesser interest was of the slightest consequence to him. If I had been an Italian I am sure that I should have been whole-heartedly with you from the start to finish in your triumphant struggle against the bestial appetites and passions of Leninism. I will, however, say a word on an international aspect of fascism. Externally, your movement has rendered service to the whole world. The great fear which has always beset every democratic leader or a working class leader has been that of being undermined by someone more extreme than he. Italy has shown that there is a way of fighting the subversive forces which can rally the masses of the people, properly led, to value and wish to defend the honour and stability of civilised society. She has provided the necessary antidote to the Russian poison. Hereafter no great nation will be unprovided with an ultimate mans of protection against the cancerous growth of Bolshevism.''

LaRouche concluded, ``I find it both shocking, but thoroughly consistent, that George W. Bush, the grandson of the Prescott Bush who helped finance Adolph Hitler's rise to power in 1933, should have proudly adorned the Oval Office with the Churchill bust. It is with great relief that I thank President Obama for removing that scandalous object, the bust of Mussolini-booster Winston Churchill, from the Presidential office. It is consistent with the spirit of the great former President Franklin Roosevelt, who, along with Abraham Lincoln, set a shining example of the kind of Presidential leadership that the nation and the world now so desperately needs.''

Barack Obama sends bust of Winston Churchill on its way back to Britain
Barack Obama has sent Sir Winston Churchill packing and pulse rates soaring among anxious British diplomats.

A bust of the former prime minister once voted the greatest Briton in history, which was loaned to George W Bush from the Government's art collection after the September 11 attacks, has now been formally handed back.

The bronze by Sir Jacob Epstein, worth hundreds of thousands of pounds if it were ever sold on the open market, enjoyed pride of place in the Oval Office during President Bush's tenure.

But when British officials offered to let Mr Obama to hang onto the bust for a further four years, the White House said: "Thanks, but no thanks."

Diplomats were at first reluctant to discuss the whereabouts of the Churchill bronze, after its ejection from the seat of American power. But the British Embassy in Washington has now confirmed that it sits in the palatial residence of ambassador Sir Nigel Sheinwald, just down the road from Vice President Joe Biden's official residence. It is not clear whether the ambassador plans to keep it in Washington or send it back to London.

American politicians have made quoting Churchill, whose mother was American, something of an art form, but not Mr Obama, who prefers to cite the words and works of his hero Abraham Lincoln. Indeed a bust of Mr Lincoln now sits in the Oval Office where Epstein's Churchill once ruled the roost.

Churchill has less happy connotations for Mr Obama than those American politicians who celebrate his wartime leadership. It was during Churchill's second premiership that Britain suppressed Kenya's Mau Mau rebellion. Among Kenyans allegedly tortured by the colonial regime included one Hussein Onyango Obama, the President's grandfather.

The rejection of the bust has left some British officials nervously reading the runes to see how much influence the UK can wield with the new regime in Washington.

Now it is likely that Gordon Brown will offer a alternative symbol of Anglo-American fealty when he visits Washington to meet Mr Obama for the first time since he became President. Diplomats are still working to finalise a date for the visit which is expected in the final week of this month or early in March.

One suggestion, given Mr Obama's interest in the Lincoln era, is that Mr Brown should offer an artefact relating to the career of John Bright, the 19th Century MP and political reformer who became the most prominent British supporter of Lincoln's Union forces during the American Civil War.

A British Embassy spokesman said: "The bust of Sir Winston Churchill by Sir Jacob Epstein was uniquely lent to a foreign head of state, President George W Bush, from the Government Art Collection in the wake of 9/11 as a signal of the strong transatlantic relationship.

"It was lent for the first term of office of President Bush. When the President was elected for his second and final term, the loan was extended until January 2009.

"The new President has decided not to continue this loan and the bust has now been returned. It is on display at the Ambassador's Residence."

C.I.A. Warns Obama About British Terrorist Threat
Posted by peeltheonion, February 12, 2009 10:06AM

A February 9th article in the Daily Telegraph of London, exposes what many in the intelligence community have known, but are now looking at with deadly seriousness. As the article elaborates, the greatest threat of a 9/11 type attack is from networks in England. This also parrallels a recent dosier released by Jeff Steinberg of the Executive Intelligence Review, after the recent Mumbai, India bombing. In that article the evidence points back to Saudi royal family funding of British intelligence controlled assets. Throughout the Mideast, Asia, Brittain, and elsewhere, it is the funding of of radical Wahabi educational institutions and mosques, that have created a pipeline for extremists. The leads from the Mumbai attack, can be followed back through the British intelligence tainted sections of the Pakistani military who have protected those assets to a control structure in England. The key link is the unfettered travel given to those most radical elements through the use of protected "religious" passports supplied with the help of the Church of England. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/barackobama/4550144/CIA-warns-Barack-Obama-that-British-terrorists-are-the-biggest-threat-to-the-US.html http://www.larouchepub.com/other/2008/3549stop_anglo-saudi_terror.html

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/barackobama/4550144/CIA-warns-Barack-Obama-that-British-terrorists-are-the-biggest-threat-to-the-US.html

Barack Obama has been warned by the CIA that British Islamist extremists are the greatest threat to US homeland security.

American spy chiefs have told the President that the CIA has launched a vast spying operation in the UK to prevent a repeat of the 9/11 attacks being launched from Britain.

They believe that a British-born Pakistani extremist entering the US under the visa waiver programme is the most likely source of another terrorist spectacular on American soil.

Intelligence briefings for Mr Obama have detailed a dramatic escalation in American espionage in Britain, where the CIA has recruited record numbers of informants in the Pakistani community to monitor the 2,000 terrorist suspects identified by MI5, the British security service.

A British intelligence source revealed that a staggering four out of 10 CIA operations designed to thwart direct attacks on the US are now conducted against targets in Britain.

And a former CIA officer who has advised Mr Obama told The Sunday Telegraph that the CIA has stepped up its efforts in the last month after the Mumbai massacre laid bare the threat from Lashkar-e-Taiba, the militant group behind the attacks, which has an extensive web of supporters in the UK.

The CIA has already spent 18 months developing a network of agents in Britain to combat al-Qaeda, unprecedented in size within the borders of such a close ally, according to intelligence sources in both London and Washington.

Bruce Riedel, a former CIA officer who has advised Mr Obama, told The Sunday Telegraph: "The British Pakistani community is recognised as probably al-Qaeda's best mechanism for launching an attack against North America.

"The American security establishment believes that danger continues and there's very intimate cooperation between our security services to monitor that." Mr Riedel, who served three presidents as a Middle East expert on the White House National Security Council, added: "President Obama's national security team are well aware that this is a serious threat."

The British official said: "The Americans run their own assets in the Pakistani community; they get their own intelligence. There's close cooperation with MI5 but they don't tell us the names of all their sources.

"Around 40 per cent of CIA activity on homeland threats is now in the UK. This is quite unprecedented."

Explaining the increase in CIA activity over the past month, Mr Riedel added: "In the aftermath of the Mumbai attack the US and the UK intelligence services now have to regard Lashkar-e-Taiba as just as serious a threat to both of our countries as al-Qaeda. They have a much more extensive base among Pakistani Diaspora communities in the UK than al–Qaeda."

Information gleaned by CIA spies in Britain has already helped thwart several terrorist attacks in the UK and was instrumental in locating Rashid Rauf, a British-born al-Qaeda operative implicated in a plot to explode airliners over the Atlantic, who was tracked down and killed in a US missile strike in November.

But some US intelligence officers are irritated that valuable manpower and resources have been diverted to the UK. One former intelligence officer who does contract work for the CIA dismissed Britain as a "swamp" of jihadis.

Jonathan Evans, the director general of MI5, admitted in January that the Security Service alone does not have the resources to maintain surveillance on all its targets. "We don't have anything approaching comprehensive coverage," he said.

The dramatic escalation in CIA activity in the UK followed the exposure in August 2006 of Operation Overt, the alleged airline bomb plot.

The British intelligence official revealed that CIA chiefs sent more resources to the UK because they were not prepared to see American citizens die as a result of MI5's inability to keep tabs on all suspects, even though the Security Service successfully uncovered the plot.

MI5 manpower will have doubled to 4,100 by 2011 but many in the US intelligence community do not think that is enough.

For their part, some British officials are queasy that information obtained by the CIA from British Pakistanis was used to help target Mr Rauf, a British citizen, whom they would have preferred to capture and bring to trial.

Sensitivities over the intelligence arrangement formed a key part of briefings given to Mr Obama, since they are central to what is often called "the most special part of the special relationship" and could complicate his dealings with Gordon Brown.

Tensions in transatlantic intelligence relations which were laid bare last week during the High Court battle over Binyam Mohamed, the British resident held in Guanatanamo Bay. British judges wanted to publish details of the torture administered to Mr Mohamed, an Ethiopian national, in US custody. But key paragraphs were blacked out after American officials threatened it could damage intelligence sharing between the two countries.

Intelligence experts said that a trusting intelligence relationship, in which one country does not publish intelligence data obtained by the other, is vital to both countries' national security.

Patrick Mercer, chairman of the House of Commons counter-terrorism sub-committee, said: "The special relationship is a huge benefit to us. It clearly works to our advantage and helps keep the people of the UK and the US safe.

"There is no doubt that a great deal of valuable intelligence vital to British national security is procured by American agents from British sources."

Mr Riedel added: "The partnership between the two intelligence communities is dynamic; it is one of great intimacy. We overuse the term special relationship, but this is an extraordinarily special relationship.

"Since September 11 the philosophy on both sides has been to err on the side of telling each other more rather than less. It is in everyone's interests that that continues."

Obama is a fascist, so I think LaRouche is giving him far more credit than he deserves.

It isn't statues of dead fascists that are destroying this country, but fascist policies, and not only is Obama not eliminating any of the latter, he's going out of his way to expand them.

I actually think this has more to do with why he did it :

http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/ET_Cetera/Obamas_grandpa_may_affect_US-Brit_ties/articleshow/4011928.cms

Obama's tortured grandfather casts shadow over US-British ties

LONDON: US President Barack Obama may not instantly warm up to Britain because of the disturbing history of his nationalist grandfather's torture by
British colonialists in Kenya, commentators warned.

"Obama's only previous connection with Britain was through his grandfather, who was allegedly tortured by British troops during the Mau Mau rebellion in Kenya," said Edward Heathcoat-Amory, a leading political columnist in the pro-Conservative Daily Mail newspaper on Wednesday.

"With these strong links to Africa, Obama sees Britain as one of the old colonial powers. He won't instinctively warm to us," he added.

In the runup to his inauguration on Tuesday a number of commentators have pointed to a shocking chapter in the US president's personal history - how his paternal grandfather Hussein Onyango Obama was tortured for his alleged part in the Kenyan independence struggle 60 years ago.

Onyango was a cook for a British army officer and had served in Burma (Myanmar), Sri Lanka and the Middle East during World War II but was incarcerated in a high-security prison in 1949 on suspicion of being an informer for the nationalist Mau Mau guerrilla movement.

Although Obama never met his grandfather, he devoted 35 pages to him in his 1995 memoir Dreams From My Father.

After his step-grandmother Sarah told him about Onyango's life during a trip to Kenya in 1986, Obama wrote, he dropped to the ground between the graves of his father and grandfather and wept.

"When my tears were spent I felt the circle finally close. I saw that my life in America - the black life, the white life, the sense of abandonment I'd felt as a boy - all of it was connected with this small plot of earth an ocean away. The pain I felt was my father's pain. My questions were my brothers' questions. Their struggle, my birthright."

Obama says his grandfather "received a hearing" and was "found innocent" after being held "for more than six months."

When Onyango returned to his village, Obama wrote, "he was very thin and dirty. He had difficulty walking, and his head was full of lice. From that day on he was an old man."

Last month, Sarah Onyango gave details of the torture that her husband suffered, causing commentators to express doubts about the future of the Anglo-American 'special relationship'.

Obama does not have the close British links of many previous US presidents - both Ronald Reagan and George Bush Sr had a chemistry with prime minister Margaret Thatcher, while Bill Clinton was a Rhodes scholar at Oxford University.

George W Bush too developed a close personal friendship with premier Tony Blair.

"President-elect Obama does not come from the old American political establishment that produced Presidents Bush senior and junior," said a BBC commentator.

"In fact, he has cause to distrust the British, his grandfather having been imprisoned and tortured during the Mau Mau uprising in Kenya."

"The phrase 'special relationship'... will not be heard that much, except from those describing its demise or, at least, its diminishment," he added.

Just three years after the Communists seized Russia, there was printed in the Illustrated Sunday Herald dated Feb. 8, 1920, the following statement by Winston Churchill about the Illuminati: "From the days of Sparticus - Weishaupt to those of Karl Marx, to those of Trotsky, Bela-Kuhn, Rosa Luxembourg and Emma Goldman, this world-wide conspiracy has been steadily growing. This conspiracy played a definitely recognizable role in the tragedy for the French Revolution. It has been the main-spring of every subversive movement in the 19th Century; and now at last this band of extraordinary personalities from the underworld of the great cities of Europe and America have gripped the Russian people by the hair of their heads, and have become practically the undisputed masters of that enormous empire." (A. Ralph Epperson, "The New World Order")
