Very disappointing! I'd thought the "Live Free Or Die" state, little ole New Hampshire, would set a precedent for the rest of the free and independent states! I think it can now be called the "Die on your feet or live on your knees" state. I'd forgotten their betrayal of Ron Paul. Free State Project my hairy ass. PATHETIC!

Here is letter snapped out to the New Hampshire state reps.
The Federal Government has become illegitimate and corrupt. It has bankrupted us to the tune of $15 Trillion dollars and is throwing trillions more away to worthless money pits. It will take us into receivership under the foreign creditors that hold our debt.
We didn't want this debt; we didn't demand that it be spent. In fact we demanded just the opposite that the Federal government act in a fiscally responsible manner.
It has refuse to act in a fiscally responsible manner, it routinely violates the contract that it was charted under by the states.
We are bankrupt, broke and tangled in wars that cannot be won. We the people want no more part of this. The only way to send that message is for the states to make it clear that the contact has been broken. HCR-6 does exactly that!
As my Representative I ask you to vote yes on HCR-6. I will be watching the vote results.
Sincerely, XXXXX XXXXX

isn't it a little disingenuous this attempt by new hampshire only even started AFTER the republicans were soundly drummed out of washington? because really, even itse and the supporters admit the bill has no teeth, will not rollback anything that's already happened, and is entirely intended to discourage NEW encroachments on state's rights. smacks a little bit of petty partisanship on its face, imvho.

Lilly you are missing alot then,, if you would like a better understanding of why this is gong on you can listen to a rebroadcast of todays show with this forums mod on explaining the whole thing,,, This is not about republicans or democrats in any way shape or form, but it is instead about YOUR rights... You know, the rights that both democrats and republicans in washington would like to further remove from you and yours... ya those rights, Give it a listen if you get the chance.. there is also a lot on the topic under the live show thread on the main page under the tenth amendmant.... Do not worry friend you will not find many partisan hacking in this forum for sure with the excteption of the occational troll .... but they are uninformed and harmless for he most part.

This is not about republicans or democrats in any way shape or form, but it is instead about YOUR rights...
WE may think it's not about Reps/Dems, that doesn't mean THEY think so. Bill introduced by four Republican Reps. shortly after Dem. Pres. takes office, then: "*** HCR-6 RAILROADED BY NH DEMOCRATS *** Despite the overwhelming volume of telephone calls and e-mails from the citizens of New Hampshire, not to mention the unanimous testimony from the public, in favor of HCR-6, the NH State-Federal Relations Committee voted this afternoon to ITL (Inexpedient to Legislate) the resolution. The vote to kill HCR-6 was 11-7, with one Democrat supporting it, and one Republican against. HCR-6 sponsor, Rep. Dan Itse, aptly labeled the proceedings as a "shameful event"." http://massbackwards.blogspot.com/2009/02/hcr-6-railroaded-by-nh-democrats.html

I am glad to see the people are waking up at least... I hope they can work out their petty differences for the good of all of us soon.. for it really is not a republican democrat movement.... And if they choose to make it one and pass the bill soon we all share in its benifits.

thanks, elvis. you said it better than i would have. of course those like Coyote are not about party, and it's not a republican or democrat movement, but my post was referring to this particular bill in this particular state legislature. i think itse was taking advantage of alex and the movement to try and get a very party-motivated bill through. and it probably failed because that's what it was.

I don't believe we can work within the existing system. It is totally corrupt from top to bottom.

The part that says "We don't want no stinkin' North American Union" ...ooops, it's not there, is it? I'm not a shrink either, but if people showed up at the capital with torches & pitchforks, they might start singin' a different song - from a non-shrink point of view.

i don't think anyone is saying the wording of the bill is inherently partisan. i AM questioning itse's motives, however.
and as far as legal scholar goes, there is precedent of the scotus striking down federal laws because they violate the tenth amendment by forcing states to enforce federal laws, but in general they simply view it as a truism and not binding on congress. so, with the exception of the narrowly defined instances accepted by the supreme court, enforcement of a sovereignty bill is out of legal channels and more the will of the state, its government, and its citizens.
now, i don't doubt itse and his republican colleagues will do their best to fight directives from a democrat controlled federal government, i only ask where they've been for the past eight years. JT Coyote is proof this idea of sovereignty didn't just spring to life on january 20. so i agree with you about the people showing up with torches and pitchforks. just take out itse, too, because he's just playing the same old games.

well given the tendancies of most republicans i met in the past eight years your feelings about itse may very well be correct.. I just do not know enough about him to pass judgement is all ..

At least Rep. Itse had the forsight to draft the bill - it makes a big difference in getting the rest of the states to see a need for it. Even if his motives were swayed by partisanship, I see it as a very good thing. It is the Democratic Rep. votes that at this point seems to be putting party politics OVER the will of the people, save one.

yes, elvis, the democrats are much worse in directly flouting the people's sovereignty, and good can come from it nevertheless IF the sovereignty bill really is the will of the people of NH, if they demonstrate to make their will felt. i have to say, i just went back and listened to itse's interview with alex and he does have some history of trying to fight the patriot act. i don't mean to harshly judge the man, it's just very suspicious if he's never mentioned the tenth amendment prior to the democrat takeover in washington.

It could be based on a real fear of Democratic socialistic policies but I agree it also seems somewhat timeserving.

carrying a weapon openly is not illegal so I don't see why you couldn't have a march with armed citizens. It sure would get some people's attention.
There will be a march Wednesday and you can bet 90% of us will be 'armed' openly or concealed. But open is always better. ;-)This bill is FAR FROM KILLED.
That was simply the COMMITTEE recommendation which the voting members, all 400 of them DO NOT HAVE TO OBEY.But interesting to note, 11 who voted against their oath to uphold the Constitutions are Democrats, the 7 who voted to uphold their oath were Republicans. This will have the vote of the whole legislature on Wednesday and then it will go to the Senate if it passes there.

I live in NH, I was there at 8 in the morning in front of the state house for that rally with about 500 other people. And I went in to watch the vote.
And after the vote, the there was outrage up in the gallery, where its customary to remain silent and civil. There was alot of yelling. I don't even want to repeat the things I heard other supporters of HCR6 yelling. It wasn't pretty. But then, neither was the result of the vote. Some of the more tame things being yelled were, "See you in Novemeber!", "You're Fired".
I am ashamed of how things went votewise, but its not over. Gotta get these bum legislators out of office and try again. I was pleased to see the passion alot of the people had who showed up to support HCR6, we patriots are not alone with our passion.

I am truly disgusted--the system is totally corrupted. The vote was 216-150 against HCR-6. “Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. OK, since I didn't say these things myself, nor do I condone them, I am only reporting: Someone (at least one guy, maybe 2) in the gallery was shouting at least 3 or 4 times: "YOU'RE ALL DEAD!" It sounded quite threatening. But then again, maybe it was nothing. Still, I would not want to be on either the giving or receiving end of those shouts, especially in the state house. I applaud the passion, but let's keep it peaceful ...until we can't.

SO let me get this straight, it failed? WTF I watched the public committee hearing, not ONE person who spoke in the entire nearly 90 minutes opposed this this resolution, not ONE. So for anyone who was there, I need to know (because it hasn't been posted yet) the vote's of the following represenatives: Scott Merrick Evilyn Merick Bill remick Herb Richards All 4 of them live with in a few blocks of me and they will be getting a knock on their door tonight. I'm PISSED Ok folks, new hamphsire folks that is, so it looks like we have mass public support for this, however, we also have a spineless legislature, so now this needs to go to the public in referendum as a constitutional amendment in the next elections. Start thinking about it now.

Only in America. It's like somebody shoved them a wheelbarrow full of money just before they voted.
Nope, its like that pretty much everywhere. Its just the world and the natural order of things. Its amazing how cheap our integrity sells for isnt it?
