Just finished listening to today's interview with Peter J. Wallison and have to say that was a pathetic job by Jones.  One softball question about Rex-84 at the end?  Free pass on the "Bad Banks" proposal?  Had that been any other, less "established" guest Alex would have been frothing at the mouth and berating them!  Maybe he felt he was in over his head but come-on Alex.  Don't pull punches.

While I understand your frustration I know why this was done.  The previous guest was establishment he's in the know you have to play the interview/conversation with that knowledge top of mind.

Mr. Wallison is playing the same game all of the other politicians are in Washington except hes been around longer than some.  The trick is asking the right questions to get the response you would not normally receive from such a guest.  As a journalist you want him to slip up or at least get acknowledgment of these things that are even in mainstream media now.

Of course, Wallison is not going to acknowledge these things he wants to have the same credibility leaving the show as he did arriving.  For Alex it's good because he can invite the same guests back and maybe land even more high profile ones because he didnt scream on them.  If he gets that rep in the higher guest circles it makes it difficult to play the game that even Alex must play to do his show.

Alex has to pay the bills somehow.  Occasionally you have to be a little shifty if you know what I mean.
