Hey Im sorry I couldn't find a good place for this so I hope y'all will bear over with me on this..

Regarding their stupid mindless 'if it saves just 1 child, we gotta ban them all' - a nice and easy reply to this to me seemed to be this: 'if it saves just 1 child, but kills 1 million others, then its not a god darn good idea!'

thx thats really all I wanted to say/point out..
-was listening to the show and the sit in guy (forgot name for now) kept repeating the 'if it saves just 1 child' stuff and it seems like he needed a good quick reply to it.. so, here's my attempt at helping out with that Wink

have a good one

save a child,  give more power  to criminals.

Gun Bans are just the opposite of what needs to be done. We need to start by educating children in grade school about guns, gun safety.

exactly. i was raised around guns. everyone i knew growing up was raised around them. in high school, kids would go hunting before school, and just leave their guns in their trucks. in full view. it was never an issue.

same in my town.. just try to put a gun in a rack in your truck today and you would have 30 cops on you in 2 minutes in the school parking lot.
We carried knives on our sides that had blades 6-8 inches long and nobody got stabbed and the guns in the trucks were never used for shooting people.

The propoganda machine has worked its magic by making guns and knives evil tools of those who have them.  The people no longer think and use common sense when they see a person in camo loading a rifle in a truck and they freak out thinking a mass murder is about to go down and call the police  as it never occurs to them that the person may be going hunting.

Using the logic of: if it saves one child the following and more would have to be banned. Bathtubs, bikes, cars, pets, pools, all sports, schools, buckets, hammers, ropes, refrigerators, electricity, fire, water, plus many more to numerous to list.

Preying upon the emotions of others to attain ones goals is an old ploy that should be as transparent as clear glass, but I believe the average man / woman is now so dumbed down this is to complicated for them to mentally grasp hold of.

I'm in college now, and when I spoke with one of the campus police officers he said that I can leave my shotgun and ammo in my vehicle which really surprised me.  As long as I don't bring it inside of the dorm halls I'm not violating any rules.  I thought that they were going to flip out and think I was some kind of crazed Virginia Tech copy cat killer haha.

Allowing for millions to be killed because they have been disarmed and are now helpless, is not a worthy sacrifice for "just 1 child," it's just propaganda.

Following that logic guns must be abundant because if a psychopath tries to gun down a child and a law abiding, vigilant citizen is carrying nearby and sees it about to go down and guns the criminal down first, the child was saved by gun rights.

Anti-gun logic makes no sense because there is no logic behind it.  Twice as many people die in automobile accidents in America every year than are killed by guns.  The number one murderer is the 6-shot revolver, so why are they taking away full-auto assault weapons?  I want them to name one murder where a legally acquired full-auto AK-47 was used.  No one in the entire country can name one because it has never happened!  There has only been two murders committed since the enacting of the NFA (National Firearms Act) in 1934 where a legally acquired full-auto weapon was used, and one of them was committed by a police officer.

Rules of Gunfighting

You may someday need to apply one or more of these
The absolute First Rule of a Gunfight, in Mark Moritz' brilliantly enunciated aphorism, is "Have a gun!" The rest will supplement that first rule....

1. Have a gun.
1. Preferably, have at least two guns.
2. Bring all of your friends who have guns.
2. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap. Life is expensive.
1. "Why did you shoot only once? There's no additional paperwork for shooting someone twice!" -- Firearms Instructor P.O.J.D., MOS debriefing after a shooting.
2. Bring ammo.
1. The right ammo.
2. Lots of it.
3. Only hits count. The only thing worse than a miss is a slow miss.
4. If your shooting stance is good, you're probably not moving fast enough or using cover correctly.
5. Proximity negates skill. Distance is your friend. (Lateral and diagonal movement are preferred.)
6. If you can choose what to bring to a gunfight, bring a long gun... and a friend with a long gun.
7. In ten years nobody will remember the details of caliber, stance or tactics. They will only remember who lived.
8. If you are not shooting, you should be communicating, reloading and running.
9. Accuracy is relative: most combat shooting standards will be more dependent on "pucker factor" than the inherent accuracy of the gun. Use a gun that works every time. "All skill is in vain when an Angel pisses in the flintlock of your musket."
10. Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.
11. Always cheat, always win. The only unfair fight is the one you lose.
1. "If you find yourself in a fair fight, you didn't plan your mission properly."

12. Have a plan.
1. Have a back-up plan, because the first one won't work.
13. Use cover or concealment as much as possible.
(Consequences of not enough of the above.)
14. Flank your adversary when possible. Protect your own flank.
15. Don't drop your guard.
16. Always perform a tactical reload and then threat scan 360 degrees.
17. Watch their hands. Hands kill. (In God we trust. Everyone else, keep your hands where I can see them.)
18. Decide to be aggressive enough, quickly enough.
19. The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get.
20. Be polite. Be professional. But... have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
21. Be courteous to everyone. Friendly to no one.
22. Your number one option for Personal Security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.
23. Do not attend a gun fight with a handgun whose caliber does not start with a "4."
1. Nothing handheld is a reliable stopper.
24. Carry the same gun in the same place all the time.

Collected and compiled by Dean Speir, formerly famous gunwriter.

This is the law:

* The purpose of fighting is to win.
* There is no possible victory in defense.
* The sword is more important than the shield and skill is more important than either.
* The final weapon is the brain.
* All else is supplemental.
