One of my sister-in-laws lives in LA. She said they can do what they want with her body. They can't take her soul which belongs to GOD. She's so clueless and dumbed down. It's something how these self proclaimed "christians" break and change the rules of their religion. She lived with her future husband before marrying. It's not the economy that is at fault. It is an out of control Legislature (which discovered it can tax then spend the money on entitlements) a governor way out of his league (sound bites are great but knowing your shit when it comes to leadership and crisis management would be better) and a population set against itself. Remember, California is where the idea of identity politics originates from.
Add in the fact that a full third of the population lives in areas where their water has to be piped in from other states and you got a recipe for a madhouse.

The California Crisis is directly due to Arnold Schwartzeneggars Fascist Environmental policies that have outsourced all production to other states and futhermore other countries. If you emite certain amounts of harmless gasses you pay insane taxes and go bankrupt, so what do you do? Move the business overseas, or to a State with rational Policy.

I agree both Revolt and HeavyHeEB on this one its quite simple while they are so broke and its not entirely Arnold's fault.  It is a combination of a number of factors culminating in the budget defiencies we see here today.  The job losses leave more people in need of welfare, and less people paying taxes, the reduction in consumerism leaves less people making purchases so less sales tax, the decrease in the velocity of the money.  The illegal immigration problem who is paying for their healthcare and childbirths?  Escpecially if all there income is black?  

So the state faces a problematic situation more people in need than before with less tax revenue to pay for it.  Very simple spending more taking in less.  The biggest problem with government are its spending inefficiencies.  For instance I try to stretch every penny I earn because I work for it.  When they are spending other peoples money they could care less how much they pay for something.  When people receive free money they could care less how they spend it.  I am sure you have all heard the stories of single mothers having more and more kids so they get bigger welfare checks, thats the type of problems that need to be cut out.  Government needs to do a better job streching those pennies an making sure the money gets where it is suppose to go.  

Like Revolt noted why would a business stick around and provide jobs if its taxed so high it can't make a profit.  Why drive to work to make minimum wage when crossing the bridge twice costs 16 bucks and gas for the day another 10 and you only make 60 bucks in a day?  

California has too damn people, would it be an interesting trial ground for martial law I think so, I don't believe nearly as many people are armed as are up where I am.  In the country where I live just about everyone's a hunter and knows how to shoot.

The Commuting to work issue can easily be solved by  a Federal and State joint investment into a high tech transit system, mainly a very HIGH speed Magnetic based railway. This would create jobs now, and when built relieve congestion, provide more efficient transportation for civilians, and provide a source of revenue for the State that actually HELPS it's citizens. Think of turning a 3 hour Round Trip commute into 30 minutes each way - that is 2 additional hours of time for the individual to spend with their family, work, or what have you. It also cleans up massive congestion on the already overloaded Highway systems.

There is no "Stimulus" Plan that can save the world as we know it other then putting the entire system into banktuptcy, overhauling it and re-investing in our infrastructure. And by infrastructure i mean Nuclear power, New Technology in transit, agriculture, science........ NOT SOLAR PANELS , as LaRouche says, "Solar Fields create Deserts". We do not want to take farm land that is much needed and turn it into a field of wind turbines and solar panels, it is absurd and genocidal to the tune of the World Wildlife Fund's antics.

I'm a firm believer in "pay as you go". When I lost a job a couple of years ago, I had seven mouths to feed but I refused to apply for unemployment. Rest assured, I won't accept government mandated money from you or your kids until I've exhausted every last resource.

Now then... what does it mean when we have governments who enable our industry to leave the country, and who implodes our once-great education system, leaving cities full of failed communities and citizens, and who then turns around and tells us that they'll feed our kids if we perform mandatory work for them?

You cannot eliminate the welfare system. You need to have empathy for others. Disabled people who cannot work (Blind, crippled, diseased) and cannot afford to live, that are US Citizens, Do NOT deserve to be tossed aside.

I am for a re-vamping of our whole system but i refuse to go to any side of extremism, and one example of extremism is completely eliminating welfare.

If our system was not a fraud, if our Monetary system invested in OUR country instead of banks and foreigners, we would have a surplus to pay for these expenses at no addition cost to the tax payer.

No, we need to re-structure the whole economic and monetary system. We need a stable system that developes land and resouces. I agree that a level of welfare is a necessity for any civilised nation. But not our current system. Most voters don't realize that welfare is promoted and expanded because for every dollar that goes out, the taxpayers pay interest on the loan that provided the dollar.

  FEMA will help but not in a good way---martial law and FEMA Camps.  California may be the test case for martial law.  I'm sure the feds would have liked a state with a smaller population.
