I was wondering your opinion on article delivered by the Atlanta Progressive News on June 3, 2007 when quoting Ron Paul from his very own newsletter in which he said

"Given the inefficiencies of what D.C. laughingly calls the 'criminal justice system,' I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal."

"We don't think a child of 13 should be held responsible as a man of 23. That's true for most people, but black males age 13 who have been raised on the streets and who have joined criminal gangs are as big, strong, tough, scary and culpable as any adult and should be treated as such."

Being from the UK, Ron Paul seemd like the most normal candidate, not like those other crack pots, but i found this slightly disconcerting.  Your views please, cheers.

*edit, here is the source.

Saxo,

Thank you for posting this.  After reading this entire article it is clear to me that it is nothing more than a hit piece.  The quotes are taken from a newsletter that was printed almost 15 years ago now. They are all shown in the article without any context, and are loose quotes, some of them are paraphrasings at best. These were of private conversations, that were off the record, and regarded the incredible gang presences, primarily Crips and Bloods, black gangs, that had began terrorized most of the nation's larger cities during the early mid-90s. The time period just after the 1992 Los Angeles riots.  The person who was responsible for this printing, was removed from the newsletter staff.

Your initial feeling about Dr. Paul, is absolutely correct, he is a wonderful man, and there isn't a racist bone in his body. This attempt by the Atlanta Progressive News, to make him look otherwise, is a last-ditch effort on the part of "some" people to demonize him... It only shows that this "progressive news" outlet has some issues of their own.

Thanks again for bringing this to our attention ... it needed to be nipped in the bud... NOW.

Cheers for that mate, i was rather suprised ive followed a lot of Ron Paul and he does actually seem like a normal rational and intelligent person, unlike those other cheap used car salesman we[or they] have placed into positions of public confidence.

You are most welcome my friend...

During that time in the '90's I was in the state house here in Colorado... I was Constitutional adviser and aide to a prominent state Representative then Senator... My first contact with Ron Paul was in 1995, when he was toying with the idea of running again for the House in his home district in 1996, and he contacted our office with regard to our Constitutional stand on unfunded federal mandates.

Though I have never met Dr. Paul face to face, I have spent many hours on the phone with him on the issues you allude to in your post, as well as more important Constitutional issues that we face still today...

There is no more righteous and genuine man in government than Ron Paul, bar-none!

Nope... they pull this BS out and flaunt it every time they want to defeat him... Every time though the truth comes out and spreads like wildfire burning the accusers in the process... the Atlanta Progressive will reap negative fruit from this by their own hand... Ron Paul is indeed divinely blessed! -- Oldyoti
