For the record, it was posted right here first. Thanks for the sticky!  I think it is  a huge story ! Help  get the word out on this. The link above, has a bunch of info that pretty much lays out the background on this now dead wittiness.  My neighbor is the lead lawyer who deposed him. Basically they are going after Rove civilly, and trying to get him on the stand to testify. They WERE close ! WERE!

UPDATE: Pilot killed as plane crashes in Lake Twp.

By Jewell Cardwell, John Higgins and David Knox
Beacon Journal staff writers

POSTED: 11:30 p.m. EST, Dec 19, 2008

LAKE TWP.: A single-prop, private airplane crashed next to a vacant house on Charolais Street Northwest Friday evening, exploding into flames and killing the pilot.

Michael Connell, 45, of Bath Township, was alone in the plane, according to State Highway Patrol Lt. Eric Sheppard.

Connell was a prominent Republican political consultant. He founded New Media Communications in Richfield, which developed campaign Web sites for Republican presidential candidate John McCain and President George W. Bush.

The plane was attempting to land around 6 p.m. Friday at Akron-Canton Airport when it crashed about three miles short of the runway.

Taylor Fano, who lives two doors away from the crash site on Charolais, said she heard the crash.

''It blew up and shook the ground a little bit,'' Fano said. ''I was standing in the kitchen and I looked out the window and all I saw was fire.''

Fano said the plane came down in the front yard at 2017 Charolais, then skidded along the side of the house.

The plane came down between two houses, separated by about 100 feet, in the upscale neighborhood. Neighbors said one of the homes was unoccupied, while the other was lighted with holiday decorations.

They said wreckage from the plane could be seen sticking up from the ground.

''It took out the flagpole and the cement blocks surrounding the flagpole like a little planter,'' Fano said. ''It skidded across the driveway and right in between a line of pine trees and a small fence around an in-ground pool.''

Neighbor Julie Hufstetler, who lives across the street from the crash site, said she was getting ready for a party at their home when she heard the explosion.

''It was kind of a swish and a boom,'' she said.

When she looked outside, she saw flames billowing from the garage.

Greentown Fire Department Capt. Lorin Geiser said he arrived within three minutes of getting several 911 calls about a plane down.

Geiser said the crumbled fuselage from the plane was fully engulfed. It took less than five minutes to extinguish the flames.

The burning debris apparently set fire to the side of the garage of the unoccupied home.

There was no interior damage to the house.

Several neighbors, bundled up against the frigid temperature, were walking around taking pictures with their cell-phone cameras.

The plane was on final approach to Akron-Canton Airport's Runway 23 when it went down, said Kristie Van Auken, spokeswoman for the airport.

Van Auken identified the plane as a Piper Saratoga, a single-engine propeller craft capable of carrying up to seven passengers.

The plane, which was made in 1997, is owned by a Richfield corporation, Sierra-November Aviation, at 3046 Brecksville Road, according to the Federal Aviation Administration registry.

FlightAware, a Web site that tracks flight plans, reported that the plane was coming from College Park, Md., departing at 3:31 p.m. and scheduled to arrive at Akron-Canton at 5:43 p.m.

The plane had flown from Akron to College Park Thursday morning.

Van Auken didn't think the plane was based at the Akron-Canton Airport, but added, ''We can't verify that at this time.''

Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board were expected at the crash site Friday night. An FAA spokeswoman said investigations typically take weeks and even months or longer to complete.

In addition to the Greentown Fire Department, others responding included firefighters from Hartville, Uniontown, Plain Township and North Canton.

Van Auken said several members of the airport operations staff were also at the crash scene.

Witness Protection After ROVE Threats ?
Ohio Election Attorney Asks Attorney General For Witness Protection Of GOP IT Guru After Threats

Today Attorney Cliff Arnebeck, who last week filed papers seeking discovery and depositions from Karl Rove and others for election manipulation, wrote to Attorney General Mukasey asking for protection for GOP IT guru Michael
Connell and his wife Heather. Mr. Arnebeck stated that he had received credible
confidential information from various sources indicating that Rove and his henchmen
threatened Mr. and Mrs. Connell. In short, Rove et al, either directly or
indirectly, demanded that Connell take the fall for the election manipulation
or the Justice Department would target Mrs. Connell for some lobby related
money laundering.

Arnebeck, an officer of the federal court, took these threats seriously. First he reported this to the federal judge handling the case, the Ohio Attorney General and the United States Attorney in Columbus.

Next he wrote to Attorney General Michael Mukasey insisting on protection for the
Connells.

The entire letter is set out below and more information is on The BRAD BLOG and on ePluribusMedia.

In a short interview with VR, Mr. Arnebeck stated that Rove et al “had just made things a lot worse for themselves. It is a federal crime to threaten a witness – they are engaging in obstruction of
justice, blackmail, suborning perjury, and intimidation. These charges
alone could land them in the penitentiary for a very long time.”

The complete, short email, sent from Arnebeck to AG Mukasey, follows in full below...

Subject: Report of Rove threats against witness Michael Connell

Dear Attorney General Mukasey:

We have been confidentially informed by a source we believe to be credible that Karl Rove has threatened Michael Connell, a principal witness we have identified in our King Lincoln case in federal court in Columbus, Ohio, that if
he does not agree to "take the fall" for election fraud in Ohio, his
wife Heather will be prosecuted for supposed lobby law violations. This appears
to be in response to our designation of Rove as the principal perpetrator in
the Ohio Corrupt Practices Act/RICO claim with respect to which we issued
document hold notices last Thursday to you and to the US Chamber of Commerce
Institute for Legal Reform. See: http://www.bradblog.com/?p=6189
and http://www.archive.org/d...tionFraudInOhioCourtCase.

I have informed court chambers and am in the process of informing the Ohio Attorney General's and US Attorney's offices in Columbus for the purpose, among other things, of seeking protection for Mr. Connell and his family from this reported
attempt to intimidate a witness.

Concurrently herewith, I am informing Mr. Conyers and Mr. Kucinich in connection with their Congressional oversight responsibilities related to these matters.

Because of the serious engagement in this matter that began in 2000 of the Ohio Statehouse Press Corps, 60 Minutes, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, C-Span and Jim VandeHei, and the public's right to know of gross attempts to
subvert the rule of law, I am forwarding this information to them, as well.

New VR Interview With Ohio Attorneys Who Have Targeted Rove

On July 17, VR sat down with the two Ohio attorneys who have filed to take targeted depositions of Karl Rove and others to expose their strategy of election fraud. The ten minute interview is a real eye opener because they talk about how they plan to
bring back the rule of law to this country and hold those accountable who have undermined
it over the past eight years. And they name names familiar to everyone—Jack Abramoff,
Bob Ney, Ken Blackwell, Grover Norquist, Michael Connell and others. This is a must see
video so watch it here.

7/18/08: VR Video Of The Ohio Press Conference Announcing The Civil Suit To Target Rove For Manipulating Elections

VR was present at the Ohio press conference yesterday and filmed it. We will be posting an edited clip for YouTube shortly but for all those who want to see it unedited, you can watch it here in eight segments for a total of one hour and two minutes.
We also have this available in high resolution for members of the press upon request.

7/18/08:
Ohio Attorneys Launch Targeted Discovery To Expose Election Manipulation By Karl Rove And Others

Yesterday, Ohio Attorney Cliff Arnebeck launched a new legal strategy to expose a national strategy of election manipulation directed by Karl Rove. The implications are stunning. Arnebeck has asked the
Ohio Federal Court to allow for targeted under oath depositions of key
individuals including Rove, Bush IT guru Michael Connell, Jack Abramoff, Ken
Blackwell and others. This will be the first opportunity ever to place
these individuals under oath.

Arnebeck indicated that he has amassed a great deal of information from various sources including whistleblowers implicating Rove. He wrote in yesterday’s court filing that the “suspected lead
perpetrator of this conspiracy against the civil rights of the plaintiffs and
against the rule of law in the United States is Karl Rove…. Rove’s politicization
of the Justice Department is currently being investigation by the US
House Judiciary Committee.”
See pdf.

Arnebeck also notified both Attorney General Mukasey and the Chamber of Commerce that he intends to “assert an Ohio Corrupt Practices Act/RICO claim against Mr. Karl Rove and others based upon their activities
beginning in 2000 to illegally use corporate treasury money and government
power to establish single faction dominance in the United States, military
dominance in the world and generally undermine the rule of law as it had
developed over the course of the past century.”

See pdf 2 and
Word doc.

VR was at the press conference and extensive coverage is here on our Election Protection Strike Force and on THE Brad Blog.
Raw Story has also covered this with new details on the possible manipulation of the 2002 Senate Max Cleland Senate race.
VR will have a complete video of the press conference up shortly.

7/16/08: Ohio Federal Election Lawsuit to be Re-Opened to Protect 2008 Election—Discovery to Include Karl Rove Emails

Today, Ohio attorney Cliff Arnebeck, lead attorney in the lawsuit over the 2004 Ohio election contest, issued the following press release.

“Counsel for plaintiffs in the federal King Lincoln Bronzeville v. Blackwell case will hold a press conference at 11 AM Thursday July 17, 2008 in the Mezzanine conference room of LeVeque Tower.

We are filing to lift the stay in the case in order to proceed with targeted discovery in order to help protect the integrity of the 2008 election. We also will be providing copies of document hold notices
to the US Chamber Institute for Legal Reform and the US Justice Department for
Karl Rove Emails from the White House.

Our new data security expert in the case, Stephen Spoonamore, one of the leading authorities on data security in the world, is planning to attend the conference and will provide some of his perspectives in this matter.

Representatives from one of our plaintiffs, League of Young Voters, will also be attending.

We look forward to seeing you there tomorrow.

Cliff Arnebeck, Attorney for the Plaintiffs”

Velvet Revolution will be covering the press conference and will have video shortly. Stay tuned for some very important information regarding the suit.

Rove Threatened GOP IT Guru If He Does Not 'Take the Fall' for Election Fraud in Ohio, Says Attorney
Letter Sent to Attorney General Mukasey Requesting 'Protection for Mr. Connell and His Family From This Reported Attempt to Intimidate a Witness' After Tip from 'Credible Source'
UPDATE: OH AG Reportedly Asked to Provide Immunity Protection...

Karl Rove has threatened a GOP high-tech guru and his wife, if he does not "'take the fall' for election fraud in Ohio," according to a letter sent this morning to Attorney General Michael Mukasey, by Ohio election attorney Cliff Arnebeck.

The email, posted in full below, details threats against Mike Connell of the Republican firm New Media Communications, which describes itself on its website as "a powerhouse in the field of Republican website development and Internet services" and having "played a strategic role in helping the GOP expand its technological supremacy."

Connell was described in a recent interview with the plaintiff's attorneys in Ohio as a "high IQ Forrest Gump" for his appearance "at the scene of every [GOP] crime" from Florida 2000 to Ohio 2004 to the RNC email system to the installation of the currently-used Congressional computer network firewall.

Connell and his firm are currently employed by the John McCain campaign, as well as the RNC and other Republican and so-called "faith-based" organizations.

In a phone call this afternoon, Arnebeck could not publicly reveal specific details of the information that triggered his concern about the threats to Connell. The message to the IT man from Rove is said to have been sent via a go-between in Ohio. That information led Arnebeck to contact Mukasey after he found the reports to be credible and troubling.

"If there's a credible threat, which I regard this to be," he told The BRAD BLOG, "I have a professional duty to report it."

Attempts to reach Connell for comment late this afternoon were not successful.

The disclosure from Arnebeck comes on the heels of a dramatic announcement last week, made at a Columbus press conference, announcing Arnebeck's motion to lift a stay on the long-standing King Lincoln Bronzwell v. Blackwell federal lawsuit, challenging voting rights violations in the 2004 Presidential Election in Ohio.

The motion was made following the discovery of new information, including details from a Republican data security expert, leading Arnebeck towards seeking depositions of Rove, Connell, and other GOP operatives believed to have participated in the gaming of election results in 2004. A letter [PDF] was sent to Mukasey at the same time last week, asking him to retain email and other documents from Rove...

"Mr. Rove's e-mails from the White House to the Justice Department, the FBI, the Pentagon, Congress and various federal regulatory agencies are obviously relevant to the factual issues that we intend to address in this case," Arnebeck wrote last week to the Attorney General. "We are concerned about reports that Mr. Rove not only destroyed e-mails, but also took steps to destroy the hard drives from which they had been sent."

In his email to Mukasey today, Arnebeck writes: "We have been confidentially informed by a source we believe to be credible that Karl Rove has threatened Michael Connell, a principal witness we have identified in our King Lincoln case in federal court in Columbus, Ohio, that if he does not agree to 'take the fall' for election fraud in Ohio, his wife Heather will be prosecuted for supposed lobby law violations."

"This appears to be in response to our designation of Rove as the principal perpetrator in the Ohio Corrupt Practices Act/RICO claim with respect to which we issued document hold notices last Thursday to you and to the US Chamber of Commerce Institute for Legal Reform," the Ohio attorney writes, before going on to link to The BRAD BLOG's coverage of his press conference last week and requesting "protection for Mr. Connell and his family from this reported attempt to intimidate a witness."

The complete, short email, sent today from Arnebeck to AG Mukasey, follows in full below...

GOP Threatens “Valerie Plame” Style Strike Against Wife of IT Mastermind if He Doesn’t Become Fall Guy for Gaming the 2004 Ohio Election

OhioNewsBureau

COLUMBUS, OHIO: The little story about how the GOP cyber-gamed the Ohio presidential election in 2004 is growing by the day, spurred on to greater heights Thursday when an Ohio election attorney asked the Ohio Attorney General to provide immunity protection to Mike Connell, the GOP IT mastermind who built various computer systems they say not only won Ohio for President Bush in 2004 but led to many other wins for Republicans over the years of the Bush Administration.

A key figure in the grand strategy of the Grand Old Party to build a cyber system that could assure permanent control by Republicans of key offices, state and federal, is Mike Connell, an Ohio native some refer to as a “High IQ Forrest Gump” for his brilliance in masterminding the construction of various computer systems associated with election procedures and data security, including the so-called firewall in Congress.
Ohio Attorney General Asked to Protect Key Witness in Election Fraud Case

In an email sent to OhioNewsBureau by lead attorney Cliff Arnebeck, who filed a federal lawsuit in August 2006 asserting the GOP gamed the system and won the state by suppressing the votes of various progressive-leaning groups like students and African Americans and who wants to revive the case to protect the integrity of the 2008 election, Nancy H. Rogers, the former dean of the law school at The Ohio State University and interim Attorney General, was asked to provide immunity protection services to Connell.

The immunity request from Arnebeck to the Ohio AG was triggered by information from a confidential source that Karl Rove, a kingpin GOP strategist, threatened that if Mike Connell doesn’t go in the tank for cyber-rigging the 2004 election in Ohio, his wife will be sued for lobbying law violations. Using this kind of hardball tactic to rain retribution down on an individual for not allowing himself to be “thrown under the bus” smacks of the identical retaliation tactic used to punish Valerie Plame by outing her as a spy for remarks made by her husband Joe Wilson before the commencement of the war in Iraq that no evidence existed for uranium being sold by Niger to Saddam Hussein.

In an email to the General Mukasey at US Dept. of Justice, Arnebeck said “We have been confidentially informed by a source we believe to be credible that Karl Rove has threatened Michael Connell, a principal witness we have identified in our King Lincoln case in federal court in Columbus, Ohio, that if he does not agree to "take the fall" for election fraud in Ohio, his wife Heather will be prosecuted for supposed lobby law violations. This appears to be in response to our designation of Rove as the principal perpetrator in the Ohio Corrupt Practices Act/RICO claim with respect to which we issued document hold notices last Thursday to you and to the US Chamber of Commerce Institute for Legal Reform.”

Continuing, Arnebeck said, “I have informed court chambers and am in the process of informing the Ohio Attorney General's and US Attorney's offices in Columbus for the purpose, among other things, of seeking protection for Mr. Connell and his family from this reported attempt to intimidate a witness.

“Concurrently herewith, I am informing Mr. Conyers and Mr. Kucinich in connection with their Congressional oversight responsibilities related to these matters.

“Because of the serious engagement in this matter that began in 2000 of the Ohio Statehouse Press Corps, 60 Minutes, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, C-Span and Jim VandeHei, and the public's right to know of gross attempts to subvert the rule of law, I am forwarding this information to them, as well.”

In an exclusive interview with OhioNewsBureau, Arnebeck said he expects to meet in person next week with attorneys in the Ohio AG’s office on his request for immunity filed today. For information on the King-Lincoln lawsuit, go here. Stressing that his aim is to enhance his lawsuit of 2006, Arnebeck said, "I’m not >trying to screw things up. I want to help not hinder.”

Asked what other offices could play a role, if they chose, in his campaign to unravel the Matrix behind what he and computer experts like Stephen Spoonamore say is going on but no one has yet to prove exists, Arnebeck said the Office of Ohio Secretary of State, the chief of elections, could use its legal authority to interrogate Connell, or initiate her own inquiry into the matter if she wants to hold off on the federal case. Arnebeck said Judge Algenon Marbley, who’s in charge of his case, has had members of his staff informally informed of the direction Arnebeck and his co-counsel, Bob Fitrakis, want to take the case along with their request to recover various emails of Karl Rove and the US Chamber of Commerce they feel makes their case.

“We want to cooperate,” Arnebeck said in a telephone interview today, about working with all offices on finding the truth behind efforts to build an effective but undetectable system that tilts close elections to Republicans.
Rove Alleged to Issue Blackmail Threat to Wife of GOP IT Mastermind

Arnebeck was especially concerned that Connell’s wife would be slapped with a GOP lawsuit alleging violations of lobbying laws if Mike Connell didn’t fall on his sword as the person responsible for building the system. “If this is true about Connell’s wife, we want to do everything to make sure every witness will be protected against any such threat,” said Arnebeck, who added that if Connell feels threatened by Rove threatening to go after his wife on a criminal basis, he might not talk to House Judiciary Committee as he once said he might do but instead will seek out defense counsel.

“Intimidating a witness in a federal case is a serious crime,” Arnebeck said of his assertion that Rove has indeed made threats to Connell in this regard. Other sources familiar with the case say Arnebeck’s concerns are justified by people who would know but who cannot identify themselves for fear they could suffer similar threats or attacks on them Arnebeck said Ben Espy and Damian Sikora of the Ohio AG’s office are in receipt of his request.

For a view of the full letter authored by Arnebeck, check out this link at ePluribus Media. For links to more background on this developing detective story about the alleged subversion of law by Rove, the GOP and Connell, check it out here. The Bradblog covers it as does the Velvet Revolution.

OhioNewsBureau sent an email to the Office of Ohio Attorney General seeking a response about whether the office was in receipt of Arnebeck's request, confirming his statement to ONB that it had, what authority the office has to provide protection to Connell and members of his family and whether General Rogers was prepared to direct her agency to help in any matter. At the time this story was posted, no response was received from the Ohio Attorney General.
Blackwell Tells House Judiciary Committee Bi-Partisan Election System Ultimate Deterrent to Conspiracy Theories

In a related but separate story, J. Kenneth Blackwell, Ohio Secretary of State for the 2004 general election, testified before the House Judiciary Committee today. Blackwell was questioned by Chairman John Conyers, who was on Arnebeck's list of recipients, about charges that the election, under his watch, was severely flawed. As reported by The Columbus Dispatch, Blackwell told Conyers and committee members that Ohio’s 88 county boards of election are all run by both Democrats and Republicans. He said local officials decide on the distribution ratios for voting equipment, the location of polling stations and select the voting equipment used in their counties from lists of equipment certified by the secretary of state’s office, the Dispatch reported. In the report, Blackwell said, “All these local safeguards ensure that local concerns about access to polling stations are handled locally and that both parties have a say in the final decisions."

When Mr. Spoonamore, the cyber security expert Arnebeck has enlisted as a key witness and whose professional paths have crossed those of Connell, was asked a week ago whether the explanation that elections couldn't be cyber stolen because they are run by two major parties, as Blackwell told the House Judiciary committee as an air-tight reason why conspiracy is only a reality in the mind of conspiratists, Spoonamore said with great emphasis that none of the board of election members, Republican or Democrat, or their staff wouldn't have a clue that the election-system Matrix set up by pros like Connell was at work, undetectable to anyone, not the least of which would be board members who have no expertise in the software underlying the system they think they're running. No one has really probed the voter database software that touch-screen vendors bundle in with the equipment each county purchases for them, failing to understand that vendor technicians, who come and go with no checks on them, could tilt the playing field of elections is so directed by their superiors, who are not any of the people who believe they are in control of the system.

Michael Connell was killed when the Piper Supercub he was piloting crashed three miles short of an Akron-Canton Airport runway. He leaves behind a wife and four children.

Connell, 45, of Bath Township, is considered to be one of the Republican Party's top computer experts. He led the companies that designed websites for the GOP and a virtual who's-who list of republican political leaders including President George W. Bush, Senator John McCain, as well as national organizations. Connell developed a host of federal government software and data management systems. Connell is also said to be a close confidant of the Bush family.

Earlier this year Connell was subpoenaed to testify in an Ohio federal court regarding voter fraud just days before the November presidential election. His alleged intimate knowledge of White House and Capitol Hill email systems has been a hot topic of conversation for Washington insiders regarding the Karl Rove/White House email scandal.

Connell founded New Media Communications, based in Cleveland, is the CEO of GovTech Solutions, based in Akron, and is associated with several other successful IT, marketing and advertising enterprises. His companies have won numerous awards for the development of political websites, marketing campaigns, and use of technology. New Media Communications placed third on the prestigious Weatherhead 100, a list compiled by Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management that recognizes Northeast Ohio's fastest growing companies.

Bush Insider Who Planned To Tell All Killed In Plane Crash: Non-Profit Demands Full Federal Investigation

Last update: 11:24 a.m. EST Dec. 20, 2008
WASHINGTON, Dec 20, 2008 /PRNewswire-USNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Michael Connell, the Bush IT expert who has been directly implicated in the rigging of George Bush's 2000 and 2004 elections, was killed last night when his single engine plane crashed three miles short of the Akron airport. Velvet Revolution ("VR"), a non-profit that has been investigating Mr. Connell's activities for the past two years, can now reveal that a person close to Mr. Connell has recently been discussing with a VR investigator how he can tell all about his work for George Bush. Mr. Connell told a close associate that he was afraid that George Bush and Dick Cheney would "throw [him] under the bus."
A tipster close to the McCain campaign disclosed to VR in July that Mr. Connell's life was in jeopardy and that Karl Rove had threatened him and his wife, Heather. VR's attorney, Cliff Arnebeck, notified the United States Attorney General , Ohio law enforcement and the federal court about these threats and insisted that Mr. Connell be placed in protective custody. VR also told a close associate of Mr. Connell's not to fly his plane because of another tip that the plane could be sabotaged. Mr. Connell, a very experienced pilot, has had to abandon at least two flights in the past two months because of suspicious problems with his plane. On December 18, 2008, Mr. Connell flew to a small airport outside of Washington DC to meet some people. It was on his return flight the next day that he crashed.
On October 31, Mr. Connell appeared before a federal judge in Ohio after being subpoenaed in a federal lawsuit investigating the rigging of the 2004 election under the direction of Karl Rove. The judge ordered Mr. Connell to testify under oath at a deposition on November 3rd, the day before the presidential election. Velvet Revolution received confidential information that the White House was extremely concerned about Mr. Connell talking about his illegal work for the White House and two Bush/Cheney 04 attorneys were dispatched to represent him.
An associate of Mr. Connell's told VR that Mr. Connell was involved with the destruction of the White House emails and the setting up of the off-grid White House email system.
Mr. Connell handled all of John McCain's computer work in the recent presidential campaign. VR has received direct evidence that the McCain campaign kept abreast of the legal developments against Mr. Connell by reading the VR dedicated website, www.rovecybergate.com.
VR demands that the Ohio Attorney General and the United States Justice Department conduct a complete investigation into the activities of Mr. Connell and determine whether there was any foul play in his death. VR demands that federal law enforcement officials place the following people under protective custody pending this investigation. Heather Connell who
is the owner of GovTech Solutions, Randy Cole, the former President of GovTech Solutions, and Jeff Averbeck, the CEO of SmartTech in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Both GovTech and SmartTech have been implicated in the rigging of the 2000 and 2004 elections and the White House email scandal. Our prior request to have Mr. Connell protected went unheeded and now he is dead.

Irobot, I agree this is big story. If I recall correctly Mike Connell denied knowledge of vote rigging in OH during testimony November 4th, 2008. Was this due to death threats?

I broke this story, and do ya think brad blog or any of the other sites  that reposted this would give me some credit? Nope. Perhaps because my blog is called pissed off former democrat... lol.
WERE!

Good job man...I just saw this on Brad Blog and was going to post it here.
Hey Sane, you do a great job compiling all this info on this site.  Has anybody suggested archiving this entire board to DVD for distribution?  I would love to have a backup of this entire board if possible, although I'm not sure how many DVD's it would entail, or what kind of legal ramifications there would be.  Now that I think about it...it's probably an idea that won't work.  Oh well... :)

Another death reporting now
« Reply #18 on: December 20, 2008, 10:20:55 PM »
One of my sources died in a plane crash last night...
UPDATED BELOW (1, 2, and 3)

I don't usually reveal sources, but I think this is incredibly important. Michael Connell died in a plane crash last night. He was a key witness in the Ohio election fraud case that I have been reporting on. More importantly, however, he had information that he was ready to share.

You see, Mike Connell set-up the alternate email and communications system for the White House. He was responsible for creating the system that hosted the infamous GWB43.com accounts that Karl Rove and others used. When asked by Congress to provide these emails, the White House said that they were destroyed. But in reality, what Connell is alleged to have done is move these files to other servers after having allegedly scrubbed the files from all "known" Karl Rove accounts.

In addition, I have reason to believe that the alternate accounts were used to communicate with US Attorneys involved in political prosecutions, like that of Don Siegelman. This is what I have been working on to prove for over a year. In fact, it was through following the Siegelman-Rove trail that I found evidence leading to Connell. That is how I became aware of him. Mike was getting ready to talk. He was frightened.

He has flown his private plane for years without incident. I know he was going to DC last night, but I don't know why. He apparently ran out of gas, something I find hard to believe. (See Update 3 below). I am not saying that this was a hit nor am I resigned to this being simply an accident either. I am no expert on aviation and cannot provide an opinion on the matter. What I am saying, however, is that given the context, this event needs to be examined carefully. If you want to understand the context more broadly, I suggest you read this article I did a while back about the break-ins and arson cases that Siegelman and others have experienced.

Just to be very clear and state again, I am not claiming conspiracy theory or direct relation to Karl Rove or the White House in any of these events. What I am saying, however, is that these possible relationships cannot and should not be overlooked by investigators. There are far too many serious and reasonable questions that must be answered for the public.

I have been to Mr. Connell's home. Mr. Connell has confided that he was being threatened, something that his attorneys also told the judge in the Ohio election fraud case. When I met with Heather, his wife, I did so carefully because of the threats he was getting.

I left a note for her in her mailbox and asked her to meet me in a local park near their home. Heather came and through our conversation I got the sense that these were not bad people or corrupt people. The Connell's really believed that what they were involved in served God's plan. Regardless of of what any of us think about their religious views or allegations relating to Connell's involvement in various things, I do think these were good people who got caught up in something bigger than themselves. My heart goes out to Heather and the children.

UPDATE ONE

Okay children - because that is what I am going to call adults who willfully mis-read information. I will say this AGAIN (as I have twice in the above entry and also used bold case so that no one would miss the caveat), I am NOT - I repeat NOT - saying this was a). a murder, b). that it was in any way connected to the White House or to Karl Rove, and c). that I am convinced of any of the above three.

On the contrary, I have said - AND AM NOTING AGAIN - that I don't know what happened. I am NOT an aviation expert. What I am saying - AGAIN - is that the context is important and must be considered. Investigators must conduct their work transparently on this case as to address the many serious and reasonable (not remotely CT-based questions) relating to this crash and the person who died. The public has a right to know and investigators must address these questions by conducting a very open investigation of the crash.

The facts are not all in yet and so I have no answers for you - AS I HAVE ALREADY NOTED. But I felt it important to share the context, obligated even to share it. Now if you folks (you know who you are) want to read this as me rolling myself in tin-foil, then that is your choice. Obviously that is not my hope, but I cannot help the lunacy that people want to engage in.

UPDATE THREE

Okay, so I have some additional information from an airport source. Here is what I have learned:

1. Connell may not have run out of gas, but may have hit an ice patch. The initial call I got described him running out of gas. That is no longer what is said to have happened.

2. The problem with that is - as I just learned - his plane was "equipped to deal with ice on all key surfaces," like wings for example.  Remember, I am not an expert on aviation or even mildly informed on different types of planes. So I will add to this when I get more information relating to the actual plane and its abilities, specs, etc.

3. He took off from a small airport called College Park.

4. He was aware of the ice conditions, and remained grounded at that airport for two hours until he felt comfortable to fly (again, from an airport source).

That is the latest. I will keep you posted - hopefully when I learn something new.

The Suspicious, Disturbing Death of Election Rigger Michael Connell

by By Bob Fitrakis & Harvey Wasserman
December 20, 2008

Michael Connell, the crucial techno- lynch pin in the theft of the 2004 election, and much more, is dead at the age of 45. His unnatural, suspicious death raises serious questions about the corruption of the American electoral process that now may never be answered.

Connell died Friday, December 19 when his Piper Saratoga plane crashed near his northern Ohio home. He was flying himself home from the College Park, Maryland airport. An accomplished pilot, flying in unremarkable weather, his death cuts off a critical path to much of what may never be known about how the 2004 election was shifted from John Kerry to George W. Bush in the wee hours of November 2. His plane crashed between two houses in an upscale neighborhood, one vacant, just 2.5 miles from the Akron-Canton airport.

A long-time, outspokenly loyal associate of the Bush family, Connell created the Bush-Cheney website for their 2000 presidential campaign. Connell may have played a role in various computer malfunctions that helped the GOP claim the presidency in 2000. As a chief IT consultant and operative for Karl Rove, Connell was a devout Catholic and the father of four children. In various interviews and depositions Connell cited his belief that abortion is murder as a primary motivating factor in his work for the Republican Party.

Connell recently wrote the following in his New Media Communications newsletter, regarding Barack Obama’s election: “In our 230 year history, our democracy has suffered worse fates. It’s just that none come to mind right now.” Connell wrote: “This is just a moment in time and this too shall pass. Enduring is the fact that 2000 years ago, a babe was born in Bethlehem. When our Lord God sent his only Son for our salvation,…In spite of the current economic and political conditions, salvation is eternal.”

Ohio Republican Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell hired Connell in 2004 to create a real-time computer data compilation for counting Ohio’s votes. Under Connell's supervision, Ohio’s presidential vote count was transmitted to private, partisan computer servers owned by SmartTech housed in the basement of the Old Pioneer Bank building in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Connell’s company, New Media Communications worked closely with SmartTech in building Republican and right-wing websites that were hosted on SmartTech servers. Among Connell’s clients were the Republican National Committee, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and gwb43.com, that housed at one point Karl Rove's missing emails. Rove's email files have since mysteriously disappeared despite repeated court-sanctioned attempts to review them.

In 2001, Michael Connell’s GovTech Solutions, LLC was selected to reorganize the Capitol Hill IT network, the only private-sector company to gain permission from HIR [House Information Resources] to place its server behind the firewall, he bragged.

At 12:20 am on the night of the 2004 election exit polls and initial vote counts showed John Kerry the clear winner of Ohio's presidential campaign. The Buckeye State's 20 electoral votes would have given Kerry the presidency.

But from then until around 2am, the flow of information mysteriously ceased. After that, the vote count shifted dramatically to George W. Bush, ultimately giving him a second term. In the end there was a 6.7 percent diversion---in Bush's favor---between highly professional, nationally funded exit polls and the final official vote count as tabulated by Blackwell and Connell.

Until his death Connell remained the IT supervisor for six Congressional committees. But on the day before the 2008 election, Connell was deposed by attorneys Cliff Arnebeck and Bob Fitrakis about his actions during the 2004 vote count, and his continued involvement in IT operations for the GOP, including his access to Rove's e-mail files and the circumstances behind their disappearance.

Various threats have been repeatedly reported involving Connell and other IT experts close to the GOP. On July 24, 2008, Arnebeck emailed Attorney General Michael Mukasey, stating: “We have been confidentially informed by a source we believe to be credible that Karl Rove has threatened Michael Connell, a principal witness we have identified in our King-Lincoln case in federal court in Columbus, Ohio,….”

Connell's death comes at a moment where election protection attorneys and others appeared to be closing in on critical irregularities and illegalities. In his pre-election deposition, Connell was generally evasive, but did disclose key piece of information that could prove damaging to Karl Rove and the GOP. Examining attorneys in the King- Lincoln-Bronzeville civil rights lawsuit, stemming from the 2004 election theft, were confident Connell had far more to tell.

There is widespread concern that this may be the reason he is now dead.

------------------ Bob Fitrakis & Harvey Wasserman have co-authored four books on election protection, including AS GOES OHIO and HOW THE GOP STOLE AMERICAS 2004 ELECTION...., available at www.freepress.org, where this article first appeared. They are attorney and plaintiff in the King- Lincoln-Bronzeville civil rights lawsuit which subpoenaed and was deposing Michael Connell.

Bush Insider Who Planned To Tell All Killed In Plane Crash:
Non-Profit Demands Full Federal Investigation

Michael Connell, the Bush IT expert who has been directly implicated in the rigging of George Bush’s 2000 and 2004 elections, was killed last night when his single engine plane crashed three miles short of the Akron airport. Velvet Revolution (”VR”), a non-profit that has been investigating Mr. Connell’s activities for the past two years, can now reveal that a person close to Mr. Connell has recently been discussing with a VR investigator how he could tell all about his work for George Bush. Mr. Connell told a close associate that he was afraid that George Bush and Dick Cheney would “throw [him] under the bus.”

A tipster close to the McCain campaign disclosed to VR in July that Mr. Connell’s life was in jeopardy and that Karl Rove had threatened him and his wife, Heather. VR’s attorney, Cliff Arnebeck, notified the United States Attorney General , Ohio law enforcement and the federal court about these threats and insisted that Mr. Connell be placed in protective custody. VR also told a close associate of Mr. Connell’s not to fly his plane because of another tip that the plane might be sabotaged.

Connell’s told VR that Mr. Connell was involved with the destruction of the White House emails and the setting up of the off-grid White House email system.

Mr. Connell handled all of John McCain’s computer work in the recent presidential campaign. VR has received direct evidence that the McCain campaign kept abreast of the legal developments against Mr. Connell by reading the VR dedicated website, www.rovecybergate.com .

VR demands that the Ohio Attorney General and the United States Justice Department conduct a complete investigation into the activities of Mr. Connell and determine whether there was any foul play in his death. VR demands that federal law enforcement officials place the following people under protective custody pending this investigation. Heather Connell who is the owner of GovTech Solutions, Randy Cole, the former President of GovTech Solutions, and Jeff Averbeck, the CEO of SmartTech in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Both GovTech and SmartTech have been implicated in the rigging of the 2000 and 2004 elections and the White House email scandal. Our prior request to have Mr. Connell protected went unheeded and now he is dead.

All the best,
VR

For more on the Connell death, see above.

Gus Boulis was a partner of Jack Abramoff in a casino.  Abramoff and his GOP buddies scammed Boulis out of $20 million.  Boulis started a legal case which would have exposed the hole corrupt Abramoff-Rove-Delay-Bush-Israel-Wall Street corruption.  Boulis took four shots in the chest in his car.  Gus Boulis was murdered by Gotti mafia family associates, almost certainly on orders from GOP lobbyist Jack Abrhamoff.  Wouldn't shock me that this Connell death is tied to this GOP-Mafia network.  Other deaths by plane crash include Senator Paul Wellstone, JFK Jr..

These are the same guys behind Noriega/Ollie North/Barry Seal/Clinton/Bush/Chip Tatum/Chilean coup of Allende/Iran-Contra/etc. They love the prop plane crashes.  Been doing it since Buddy Holly and the "sacrificial rite"

Look into the Tatum Chronicles for all of the information on how this mostly Neo-con faction assassinates whistleblowers:

Press Briefing by St. Police - Neighbors interviewed
A man was killed when his plane crashed Friday night nearly missing a foreclosed home in Lake Township. No one else was hurt, but local, state and federal investigators combed the scene for clues to the cause of the crash. Investigators said initially it appeared as though the pilot was trying to avoid hitting the house. But it, too, caught fire briefly.

The local MSM, now reporting the "conspiracy theory"

Pilot who died in crash touched lives of many

Entrepreneur Michael Connell played key role in GOP politics, known for his charitable works

Published on Sunday, Dec 21, 2008

He shook hands with presidents in Washington and paupers in El Salvador. He founded multimillion-dollar companies and a Knights of Columbus chapter.

In his 45 years, Michael Connell built powerful relationships and touched lives, rising like a rocket in national politics and playing key roles in Republican campaigns with his ''IT guru genius'' and Web site vision.

In the wake of his death in an airplane crash Friday night near Akron-Canton Airport, Mr. Connell's legend grew as his name was tossed around by conspiracy theorists connecting him to presidential adviser Karl Rove and the controversial presidential election of 2004.

In Bath Township, friends and family visited the Connell home on Ira Road throughout the day Saturday. Mr. Connell and his wife, Heather, had been married about 18 years and have four children between the ages of 10 and 17.

Family spokesman Todd Westover said Mr. Connell was a devoted father and husband, whose vision for business was exceeded by his charitable work.

''He had a passion for everything he did and he did it with grace and dignity and 100 percent,'' Westover said. ''He spoke more highly of the Knights of Columbus and with more passion toward his charity work than his business. He was just very special.''

Mr. Connell, founder and chief executive of New Media Communications in Richfield, died instantly when the single-prop airplane he was piloting crashed into a vacant house about three miles short of the Akron-Canton Airport.

State Highway Patrol Lt. Eric Sheppard said Mr. Connell's plane was in communication with the airport control tower just before the crash, but he could not detail whether the radio transmissions were calls for help.

''We have no reason to believe at this point it was anything other than an unfortunate crash,'' Sheppard said.

Charles Starkey, a former Navy pilot and director of safety for a Cleveland-area private jet company, said Friday night's cloud cover and misty, cold conditions presented challenges for even the most experienced pilots.

In a 30-minute time frame around the crash, the weather deteriorated quickly as visibility around the airport diminished from nine miles to a little over one mile with a low ceiling.

In such cases, pilots typically are forced to rely on the plane's instruments rather than their own vision, which can contribute to crashes, Starkey said.

''It's easy to get disoriented, especially if you're not very experienced at it,'' he said. ''You've got to ignore the various things your body can be telling you and rely on your instruments. It's very challenging.''

Associates described Mr. Connell as a devout Catholic, and a devoted family man. The Connell family is well known at St. Hilary Church in Fairlawn, where they are members and their children have attended classes.

Mission trip

In 2005, the Connells began organizing an annual mission trip to El Salvador from the parish. It was known as the Serving Christ Through His Poor, El Salvador Mission.

The organization's Web site details how the group has built numerous houses and a youth center, and helped to install water and sanitation systems in the village of Mizata.

Heather Connell is president of the mission and Mr. Connell was chairman of the board.

Joe McShannic, a vascular surgeon for Summa Health System, said Mr. Connell started the mission single-handedly.

''It was all his idea. He started it from the ground up. Every year it got bigger and bigger and we were able to do more and more,'' McShannic said.

McShannic said the Connell children routinely go on the mission trip with their parents.

''He was a great guy, a natural born leader, a very spiritual man, and obviously, a great family man,'' he said. ''He was the life and soul of this mission.''

In addition, McShannic said Mr. Connell just last year started a council of the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic men's service organization, at St. Hilary's, where he served as grand knight. In its first year, the council had more than 100 members join, making it one of the largest in Ohio.

''Mike has touched so many people. He had plans to do so much more,'' McShannic said.

Political interests

Mr. Connell, an Illinois native and University of Iowa marketing graduate, was a GOP go-to guy while still in his 20s. He understood the power of the Internet in its infancy.

He got his first taste of political campaigns in 1986, working on the re-election bid of Iowa Rep. Jim Leach. His work caught the eye of George H.W. Bush's campaign, which hired him. Once Bush became president, Mr. Connell took a job with the Department of Energy, where his information technology work proved prominent.

Mr. Connell continued to work on GOP efforts and eventually served as press secretary for Rep. Martin Hoke of Lakewood.

Bob Bennett, chairman of the Ohio Republican Party, said Mr. Connell has been on the scene for a number of years.

''He did a lot of work for the Republican Party, the McCain campaign, some of our county organizations and the Republican National Committee,'' Bennett said.

Conspiracy theories

It was Mr. Connell's work in information technology for Republicans that garnered him a national reputation and eventually involved him as a witness in a federal lawsuit alleging election tampering.

Mr. Connell's role as a witness has erupted a storm cloud of conspiracy theories about his death on left-leaning Internet blog sites.

Mr. Connell was subpoenaed in the 2006 case against former Ohio Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell, alleging that voter fraud helped steal Ohio votes and swing the 2004 election for President George W. Bush.

One of Mr. Connell's companies ran computer servers for Ohio on Election Night.

Specifically, the lawsuit alleges that by 9 p.m. on Election Night 2004, the results were switched from the state server to one set up by Connell's, in the former Pioneer Bank Building in Chattanooga, Tenn. It is alleged the same server was used to bundle and remove White House e-mails regarding the 2005 federal prosecutor firing scandal.

Mr. Connell tried to fight the subpoena, but a judge ruled against it and he gave a deposition on Nov. 3.

It was through the fight over the subpoena that attorneys who brought the case learned that Mr. Connell and his wife had allegedly been threatened with federal prosecution by Rove.

Bob Fitrakis, one of the Columbus attorneys who filed the lawsuit, a former Green Party candidate for president and a political blogger known for his conspiracy theories on election stealing in Ohio, said word of Mr. Connell's death ''sent a chill down my spine.''

When the threats came to light, Fitrakis said he and co-counsel Clifford Arnebeck reported them both to the federal court and to the U.S. attorney general.

''There is concern on my part and I hope it spills over into an exhaustive investigation,'' Fitrakis said. ''He was the Bush family's IT guru. He had tremendous knowledge and information.''

Fitrakis said in the deposition that Mr. Connell discussed the apparatus he had put in place in Ohio in 2004 and other areas. Fitrakis said those involved in the suit were hoping that Mr. Connell's deposition would lead them to Rove.

Jason Mauk, executive director of the Ohio Republican Party, discounted the conspiracy theories.

''I don't think Mike had nearly as much to do with that as the tin-foil-hat community would believe,'' he said.

IT man

But Mauk didn't downplay Mr. Connell's role as the country's leading IT man for Republican politics.

''Mike worked very hard every day to get the Republican Party to keep pace with the rapidly developing world of online communications,'' Mauk said. ''Mike was a pioneer in using technology to identify voters and mobilize volunteers. He was using the Internet to develop new media tactics years before the Obama campaign made it popular.''

Through New Media Communications, Mr. Connell developed Web sites for state, national and county Republican parties and candidates as well as e-mail platforms for them, Mauk said.

''We worked with Mike to overhaul our Web site and he made it one of the most successful state party sites in all of the country. We won an award for it,'' he said.

New Media Communication's Web site boasts a client list that includes Bush-Cheney 2000 and 2004 campaigns, McCain-Palin 2008, and dozens of other ranking Republicans and Republican-leaning organizations.

Mauk called the blog traffic that has erupted over Mr. Connell's death ''sad.''

''He was a great guy. I can't speak highly enough about him,'' Mauk said. ''To know Mike was to know his family.''

Some one claiming to be Connnells relative has hit every message board saying what a good guy he was and not to believe this conspiracy talk.

From all accounts, Connell was well respected by many journalists who he confided in.

Also from all accounts, Karl Rove and the G7 black ops execution force blew up his fricking plane.

Flashback: Rove Threatened GOP IT Guru If He Does Not ‘Take the Fall’ for Election Fraud in Ohio, Says Attorney

Connell has recently been discussing with a VR investigator how he can tell all about his work for George Bush.

Connell’s not to fly his plane because of another tip that the plane could be sabotaged.

Behind the Firewall, who is Mike ConnellApril 3, 2007
Contributed by Todd Johnston and Luaptifer
http://scoop.epluribusmedia.org/story/2007/4/3/19924/39133

In the latter half of the 90s, Connell's return to hi-tech was a no-brainer, as the Internet explosion unearthed new pathways and paradigms for soliciting votes. With the creation of his company New Media Communications, Connell began to blaze a nascent "super-highway" and to begin the task of re-branding the Bush family legacy from "wimp" to "winner." And by the end of the decade, New Media's GeorgeWBush.com and GOP.com gilded Connell's status as "a trusted partisan."

So why was this Internet guru for the Republican Party -- once fired for "unethical" campaign tactics - selected as the first private vendor to set up behind the firewall at the U.S. House of Representatives? And how did GovTech Solutions, the company he co-founded with scandal-ridden lobbyist Thomas J. Synhorst, get security clearance to re-design and install the Intelligence committee's web site on the House intranet?
This article, "Part II: Behind the firewall," picks up the Connell thread in 1996, when after a year of preparations, his company New Media Communications and the GOP start laying the foundation for the 2000 presidential election.

commentary :: :: :: buzz-it!

"How I got where I am today is relationships."
- Mike Connell, 10/5/2001

Jeb

Mike Connell's New Media Communications flickered to life in 1996, providing site and software makeovers for the Illinois and Ohio state GOPs. Bootstrapped by the Republican Revolution of 1994, New Media started wiring the architects of the Contract with America for a world without Bill Clinton.

Over the next two years, Connell helped jack in the new conservative money machine by implementing web and database services for Dick Armey's (R-TX) Majority Leader's Fund, John Boehner's (R-OH) Freedom Project PAC, Lamar Alexander's (R-TN) New American Century PAC, and John Kasich's (R-OH) Pioneer PAC. Connell added Iowa and Pennsylvania to his list of state GOP clients and was chosen to design the future Internet home of the Republican National Committee.

New Media would also help accredit pseudo-intellectual newspeak with sites for David Horowitz's Center for the Study of Popular Culture and his yellow journalism tabloid FrontPageMag.com.

But 1998 saw Connell's true coming out party, when the insular Bush family tapped New Media to design Jeb.org, JebWear.com and GopWear.com for the campaign to elect George Bush's second son first, as the 43rd governor of Florida.

New Media was way ahead of the technology curve in 1998. A Mike Connell developed "web site" was more than an online photo album of the candidate: it was interactive appeal to the constituents that embodied Connell's all but prescient intuition for computers and ironclad dedication to conservative politics. That year, while Bill Gates' was grabbing headlines with the beleaguered Windows 98, Connell was focused on grabbing Democratic districts:

"Beyond voter list development, New Media also develops advanced targeting models that accurately project voter turn-out and assign vote goals down to the precinct level."
Jeb won his governor's seat. And during Jeb's first year and a half in office, Connell expanded into Florida with IT contracts for the executive office of the Governor, the Depts. Of Education and Community Affairs, and the state Republican Party.

Tom

Connell was still in touch with the "old school politics" advocates from his past. Along with its Richfield, OH production facility, New Media maintained offices in two strategic locations. One was a Tallahassee, FL address and phone number the company shared with Tidewater Consulting. The other was the Washington, DC headquarters of the DCI Group, the scandal-plagued lobby shop run by GOP operative Thomas J. Synhorst. Just months after Bush's Florida win, the two would team up formally in Ohio to create DCI/New Media, L.L.C.

Connell's ongoing alliances with Synhorst, whose firm [specializes] in push-polling are worrisome. These alliances strongly suggest that despite a decade to reflect, Connell had not renounced the crooked tactics for which he'd been fired. And that perhaps all he'd learned from the experience was to avoid getting caught.

In any case, just two years after being formed, DCI/New Media, L.L.C. was dissolved.

But prior to its dissolution, Connell and Synhorst launched GovTech Solutions, L.L.C, what may be their defining partnership, a New Media spin-off to handle its "government web site accounts."

GovTech -- founded in April of 2000 by Connell's wife Heather and Synhorst (with Connell as registered agent) --  quickly distanced itself from New Media's reputation as the "Bell Labs of the Republican Party." Instead, GovTech claimed instead to be a "non-partisan" and "woman-owned IT solutions firm." But GovTech fortunes depended entirely on New Media, and how the remainder of the year played out.

"Junior"

Near the end of 2000 amid controversy over chads and voter manipulation, Connell's sweat equity in New Media was hanging by a skinny thread. But when the final robes were tallied, George W. Bush was awarded Florida's 25 electoral votes. And Mike Connell had helped usher a third Bush family member into national office, and his second into the White House.

His GeorgeWBush.com had been widely publicized and acclaimed, and after barely enough time to celebrate, New Media's BushCheneyTransition.com ensured that to the victor belonged the spoils.

Following the inauguration, Connell was openly straddling the DMZ between "electioneering" and "elected" government. Campaign clients like Rick Santorum (R-PA) and Heather Wilson (R-NM) wanted New Media to build their Congressional sites on senate and house dot gov domains. And his uncanny winning streak and insider's cachet especially appealed to the new GOP House leadership promoted in the wake of Newt Gingrich's ouster.

In 2001, Connell put MajorityWhip.house.gov on the web for Tom Delay and began to forge a relationship with House Information Resources (HIR), the office that administers the House's IT network.

As his dot gov work increased, Connell began diverting it to the company owned by his wife and Tom Synhorst. GovTech's claims notwithstanding, no meaningful boundaries existed between Connell's GOP-only marketing firm and his non-partisan e-government "boutique." Connell himself stated as much on April 18, 2001 in an interview with Crain's Cleveland Business:

"When (GovTech Solutions) emerges as a separate entity remains to be seen. We'll figure it out in the next 12 to 18 months."
Even as he spoke, New Media's systems administrator Aaron Burke was installing and testing Connell's proprietary "web hosting servers, e-mail servers and database servers" behind the firewall at the House of Representatives.

Just three months after George W. Bush had taken the oath of office, Connell -- the computer whiz kid drafted by Bush's father in 1988 -- was learning the ropes at HIR. Michael L. Connell had been given the nod yet again, but this time as the first private vendor allowed access to the House computer networks.

Bob

Alarmingly, Connell had been ushered in by fellow Ohioan Bob Ney, the former chairman of the House Committee on Administration (CHA) convicted last year for conspiring with Jack Abramoff to defraud the United States.

By the time Ney took over in 2001, the GOP had transformed the CHA into essentially a corporation that controlled a wide range of vital infrastructures and yet had virtually no Congressional oversight.

The committee had just nine members (six Republicans, three Democrats, and not one subcommittee) with jurisdiction over federal elections, House finances, procurement, auditing and compliance, human resources, public documents, and building maintenance and security for half of the Capitol Complex.

And the CHA also ran the entire House telecommunications network.

The Contract with America had created the position of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) ostensibly to consolidate the Offices of the Postmaster and Doorkeeper. In practice, however, the CAO had been given the task of managing the IT networks, in addition to House finances, procurement, auditing and compliance, human resources, etc., under the guidance of the CHA. Indeed, most of the day-to-day functions of the House were run by managers who answered to in essence a board of six Republicans and three Democrats.

And the Chairman of the Board was Bob Ney.

Mike Connell's direct connections to Ney, if any, are not straightforward. But in the state of Ohio where, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer "even lobbyists are gagging on [the] sleaze," nothing should overlooked. New Media Communications now has close to three dozen state party sites, and even after the GOP's 2006 drubbing, its client list "reads like a `Who's Who' of Republican politics."

And then there's the matter of GovTech Solutions, which by 2004 had built custom databases and content management systems for the House Intelligence, Judiciary, Ways and Means, and Financial Services committees, the Majority Whip and Leader's offices, 37 members of Congress, the 30th G8 Summit, Energy.gov, Results.gov, and GOP.gov.

In the end, the question isn't really "Who is Michael L. Connell" but who does he serve: the president or the office? Connell is an open Bush family loyalist and loyalty is admirable trait. But as the limits of executive privilege are now being tested over emails, George W. Bush's final days can't help but invoke Nixon's.

Loyalty without integrity is fanaticism. And Connell's choices - both past and present - are quite frankly, not encouraging.

'Karl Rove's IT guru' Mike Connell dies in plane crash
http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Karl_Roves_IT_guru_Mike_Connell_1220.html
Published: Saturday December 20, 2008

A top level Republican IT consultant who was set to testify in a case alleging GOP election tampering in Ohio died in a plane crash late Friday night.

Michael Connell -- founder of Ohio-based New Media Communications, which created campaign Web sites for George W. Bush and John McCain -- died instantly after his single-prop, private aircraft smashed into a vacant home in suburban Lake Township, Ohio.

"The plane was attempting to land around 6 p.m. Friday at Akron-Canton Airport when it crashed about three miles short of the runway," reports the Akron Beacon Journal.

Connell's exploits as a top GOP IT 'guru' have been well documented by RAW STORY's investigative team.

The interest in Mike Connell stems from his association with a firm called GovTech, which he had spun off from his own New Media Communications under his wife Heather Connell’s name. GovTech was hired by Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell to set up an official election website at election.sos.state.oh.us to presented the 2004 presidential returns as they came in.

Connell is a long-time GOP operative, whose New Media Communications provided web services for the Bush-Cheney ’04 campaign, the US Chamber of Commerce, the Republican National Committee and many Republican candidates. This in itself might have raised questions about his involvement in creating Ohio’s official state election website.

However, the alternative media group ePlubibus Media further discovered in November 2006 that election.sos.state.oh.us was hosted on the servers of a company in Chattanooga, TN called SmarTech, which also provided hosting for a long list of Republican Internet domains.

“Since early this decade, top Internet ‘gurus’ in Ohio have been coordinating web services with their GOP counterparts in Chattanooga, wiring up a major hub that in 2004, first served as a conduit for Ohio's live election night results,” researchers at ePluribus Media wrote.

A few months after this revelation, when a scandal erupted surrounding the firing of US Attorneys for reasons of White House policy, other researchers found that the gwb43 domain used by members of the White House staff to evade freedom of information laws by sending emails outside of official White House channels was hosted on those same SmarTech servers.

Given that the Bush White House used SmarTech servers to send and receive email, the use of one of those servers in tabulating Ohio’s election returns has raised eyebrows. Ohio gave Bush the decisive margin in the Electoral College to secure his reelection in 2004.

IT expert Stephen Spoonamore says the SmartTech server could have functioned as a routing point for malicious activity and remains a weakness in electronic voting tabulation.

"...I have reason to believe that the alternate accounts were used to communicate with US Attorneys involved in political prosecutions, like that of Don Siegelman," said RAW STORY's Investigative News Editor, Larisa Alexandrovna, on her personal blog Saturday morning. "This is what I have been working on to prove for over a year. In fact, it was through following the Siegelman-Rove trail that I found evidence leading to Connell. That is how I became aware of him. Mike was getting ready to talk. He was frightened.

"He has flown his private plane for years without incident. I know he was going to DC last night, but I don't know why. He apparently ran out of gas, something I find hard to believe. I am not saying that this was a hit nor am I resigned to this being simply an accident either. I am no expert on aviation and cannot provide an opinion on the matter. What I am saying, however, is that given the context, this event needs to be examined carefully."

"Mr. Connell has confided that he was being threatened, something that his attorneys also told the judge in the Ohio election fraud case," concluded Alexandrovna.

An FAA investigation into the causes of Connell's plane crash is underway, but no results are expected for several weeks.

It doesn't suprise me that all the above info is not included in the MSM. The Fox story doesn't say much of anything.

Pilot Killed in Ohio Plane Crash Was GOP Consultant

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,470687,00.html

COLUMBUS, Ohio —  An Ohio pilot who died in a small plane crash was a Republican media consultant who helped operate campaign Web sites for President Bush and former presidential nominee John McCain.

Forty-five-year-old Michael Connell of Akron was killed Friday when his plane crashed near a vacant house in a rural area of Uniontown, about 10 miles southeast of Akron. He was attempting to land the aircraft at the nearby Akron-Canton Airport.

Connell was the CEO and founder of Cleveland-based New Media Communications, which built campaign Web sites for Bush and McCain, according to the company's Web site. The site says the company also worked with the Ohio Republican Party, the Republican National Committee and other political groups.

No one on the ground was injured. The plane did not have any passengers.

Bush Insider Who Planned To Tell All Killed In Plane Crash: Non-Profit Demands Full Federal Investigation

WASHINGTON, Dec. 20

/PRNewswire-USNewswire/

Michael Connell, the Bush IT expert who has been directly implicated in the rigging of George Bush's 2000 and 2004 elections, was killed last night when his single engine plane crashed three miles short of the Akron airport.

You see this is the problem these people keep having over and over again.  They let others know they are about to go public. Don't tell anyone your going to go public - JUST DO IT, NO WARNING.

If your really serious pre-record your statement, make 100 copies, give them out at random, then go public on a show or something.

That way they have to ignore you like they did with Saint John Hunt who's father left a deathbed confession of the involvement of killing JFK.

Mike Connell was warned not to fly before plane crash
By Wayne Madsen

 Dec 22, 2008, 00:27

(WMR) -- WMR has learned from knowledgeable sources in Ohio that Republican Party computer networking guru Mike Connell was warned not to fly in anonymous warnings conveyed to principals in the ongoing federal civil lawsuit of King Lincoln Bronzeville Neighborhood Association v. Blackwell, stemming from GOP-engineered vote fraud in the 2004 Ohio presidential election, as well as a potential Ohio racketeer-influenced criminal organization (RICO) criminal proceeding against former Bush White House aide Karl Rove and Blackwell, in the conspiracy to illegally steer Ohio’s 20 electoral votes to the Bush column in 2004.

Connell’s Piper Saratoga single-engine plane crashed during the evening of December 19 in Uniontown, Ohio, as it was preparing to land at Akron-Canton airport. There were no other passengers and Connell was killed in the crash. Connell had flown to College Park, Maryland, the previous day. Connell, who lived in Akron with his wife Heather and four children, often flew to Washington for activities related to his IT businesses.

Connell’s name surfaced as a key player in Rove’s election fraud conspiracy after this year’s July 17 Columbus news conference hosted by Cliff Arnebeck, the Ohio attorney who has been representing plaintiffs in the federal civil suit against former Republican Secretay of State J. Kenneth Blackwell. On the phone at the conference was John McCain campaign adviser and computer security specialist Stephen Spoonamore who identified Connell as a key player, as well as potential trial witness, in the GOP’s conspiracy to flip Ohio votes in the 2004 election.

Spoonamore and Connell had reportedly worked together on foreign elections in programs sponsored by the International Republican Institute (ISI) and the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). Both had traveled abroad together on special election projects to ensure “fair voting” procedures.

For the first time, WMR has learned that the GOP vote flipping conspiracy was in place earlier than the November 2004 general election and was used to deny votes to Democratic candidates John Edwards and Dennis Kucinich in the March 2, 2004, Democratic primary. John Kerry won the primary with 52 percent of the vote to 34 percent for Edwards and 9 percent for Kucinich.

After Connell was identified as a potential witness in the civil case against Blackwell and a possible criminal Ohio RICO case against Rove, Blackwell, and perhaps others, the plaintiff attorneys received a tip from a high-level source in the McCain presidential campaign that Rove had issued a threat against Connell. Connell had worked for the 2008 McCain presidential campaign on the development of its web pages.

WMR has learned from our Ohio sources that five threats against Connell were conveyed to the election fraud plaintiff attorneys with the last tip being “Connell is in danger.” One of the threats reportedly made by Rove to Connell was that Connell could forget about a pardon from President George W. Bush if he did not “take the fall” in the event criminal charges were brought and that his wife Heather, who was used as a majority stockholder for one of Connell’s web design companies, GovTech Solutions, would be prosecuted for illegal lobbying. Connell’s other company is New Media Communications, Inc.

We have also learned that one additional tip was relayed to Connell’s wife and it was to the effect that Connell “was in danger and he should not fly his plane.”

Connell’s firms received contracts to place its servers behind the House of Representatives firewall courtesy of then-House Administration Committee Chairman Bob Ney (R-OH), later jailed for his role in the Jack Abramoff lobbying-influence peddling scandal. Connell also designed and ran the web sites for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Judiciary Committee. WMR has learned that through effective GOP control of these web sites, the Bush White House was able to monitor all committee e-mails and documents, including planning documents for House Judiciary Committee impeachment hearings against Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.

We have also learned that Connell’s IT firm did classified web site development work for the CIA.

Based on the threats against Connell, the federal judge hearing the civil suit King Lincoln v. Blackwell, conveyed to Connell that the court would protect him if he came forward. On October 17, 2008, Connell’s attorneys attempted to quash an October 8, 2008, plaintiff subpoena for his court appearance. On October 31, U.S. Judge Solomon Oliver denied the motion to quash the subpoena and ordered Connell’s deposition to proceed on November 3, the day before Election Day. WMR has learned that on Friday, October 31, Connell was nervous and “beet red” during the hearing to quash the subpoena. On Monday, November 3, Connell was composed and it is believed that his top shelf law firm had been selected by Rove to represent Connell for the deposition. Rove’s intent was to ensure that there would be no deposition from Connell before the November 4 election.

WMR has also learned that Connell was prepared to testify before the House Judiciary Committee about the election fraud in Ohio and other states but that the offer of testimony was not acted upon senior staffers for House Judiciary Committee Rep. John Conyers (D-MI). A source in Columbus told us that some of Conyers’ senior staffers on his committee and in is office are not to be trusted on issues related to election fraud.

In addition, Rove and the Bush White House attempted to forestall testimony by election officials in Mahoning County and Youngstown, Ohio, on election fraud in 2004 by promising to have former Rep. James Traficant (D-OH), who is currently imprisoned after being convicted of corruption, released early in return for their silence. Traficant is not scheduled for release from federal prison until Sept, 2, 2009.
