CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- A Clay County woman's family said it's seeking justice after their loved one died shortly after being shocked 10 times with Taser guns during a confrontation with police.

The family of 56-year-old Emily Delafield said it would take the Green Cove Springs Police Department to court.

Family attorney Rick Alexander said Delafield's death could have been prevented and that there are four things that jump out at him about the case.

"One, she's in a wheelchair. Two, she's schizophrenic. Three, they're using a Taser on a person that's in a wheelchair, and then four is that they tasered her 10 times for a period of like two minutes," Alexander said.

Cops are beyond out of control now a days. With the medial examiner issuing the death as homicide, they will get their justice, so long as the government doesn't clear them, like they normally do.

Unbielevable.  I hope the cops like prison cells.

Dang....we are lost.

Just remember there are good cops out there and not all would do such a thing.  When I was/with officer this action would be unthinkable.

How pathetic " WE " are to be allowing tasers to be used at all! How many more examples do we need to show "US" that todays police officers don't have the moral fiber to be using such devices let alone guns! If our representatives aren't conscious enough to do something about this sort of thing.. Than we dang better be! Stand up for what's right people it's the American WAY!

How quickly have people accepted violent actions like tazering and macing as normal and ok? Comments from the public on the news report statements like "why didn't they mace her instead?"  You do not mace sick or old people who are upset. Elderly or disabled people can die from macing as well, or even being manhandled. People have died from being maced. Why can't the authorities try talking to a person - or this lady with a mental illness could probably been overcome by throwing a bowl of water over her. She needed to be helped not challenged.

Yeah, the least they could have done was to just pull her out of the wheelchair and shoot her execution style in the street. Sadly enough - that would have been more humane.

Google:  tazer death count

It's well over 200 and rising at an increasing rate.

It's becoming clear that tazers are being used to punish and torture people rather than subdue them.  Many people become violent only AFTER being tazered, causing many police to not tazer someone until after they've been restrained, which proves they're for punishment and torture.
