Buy another currency if unable to buy gold/silver in time?

I want to buy gold and silver as I take out my 401k's. But I was thinking if I can't get gold and silver quickly (it is becoming difficult to obtain) I thought of purchasing Swiss Francs so I do not get screwed when the bank run anticipated in Feb and I haven't been able to get enough gold and silver by then. So I guess I would be buying time to get gold/silver after this benchmark month. Does anyone have a comment regarding this strategy?

u can buy gold on e-bay very fast, i have 1 more 2.5 gram bar left i'm selling; selling my small bars i bought long ago to buy oz bars
