The Illuminati and the Internet

So I was thinking (Dangerous, I know.) about the Illuminati belief system.  We've heard it many times before - they worship knowledge, information, and technology, but not for the good of the people - for their own personal gain.  This led me to think "How the hell did they let a gem like the internet slip through their fingers and into the hands of the masses?".  It's a dangerous thing for them to allow, I mean look what's happened since the internet exploded.  They're more exposed now than ever.  There has to be some kind of agenda behind this, It couldn't be a mistake. 

That's when it dawned on me, that the Internet is a tool.  We know that most everything we view, or say, or do on the web can be traced tracked and catalogued.  Look at sites like Myspace, Facebook... (Coincidently things that will REMAIN under Internet 2.0), They've got us filling out dossiers on OURSELVES  .  I couldn't think of a better tool to use to sift through and find the people they would deem dangerous to their cause.  Thoughts?
