Romans 13, is only for Godly Governments, those who are relying on God.  Our governments have stop being what they are supposed to do, and are all spiritually bankrupt.  When a government is under God, they are just and fair to the people,  the people do not fear their government, it is there to help.

Does this body of Christ have a 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable group license (reads, "permission")?

If so, then you may question the basic validity of any group who is given permission to exist with a state sanctioning. To whom are they seeking to serve? If they're serving Yaweh, then they needn't permission to gather... If they're serving the state, then they definately need the license/permission to do so, and are serving the best interests of the state.

You can use the examples of Martin Luther King Jr and the black civil rights movement in the 60s.  The black church played in a crucial role in the fight for equal rights and used non violent disobedience to challenge Jim Crow laws in the south that prevented them from voting and eating in restaurants.  Was MLK wrong or going against God's will for challenging the system and being arrested because he refused to be treated as a second class citizen? Of Course Not.  MLK spoke out against a beast system (military industrial complex) that was sacrificing the lives of young men of all races to the altar of corporate greed.  And for his stances on being anti-war and for civil rights, He paid with his life.  Christians need to speak out against the forces of evil that preverting our food sources with GMO crops, poisoning our children with vaccines, and putting sodium flouride in our water.

but I'm gonna.  I went from being a very active layspeaker to having to quit my old church.  I suppose I didn't have to quit, but it was far better for my own spiritual journey with Christ for me to do so.  There was no way for me to get through to these folk.  No scripture would work, no way I could find to rationalize with them about this. 

Remember what happened to Jesus when He went to preach in His hometown?

Your passion to take the shutters off the eyes of the folk you've come to care so much about, that is evident in your post, is admirable & it's what Jesus wants of us.  But I also believe that we need to discern for ourselves when the time comes to dust off our feet & head on out and that Jesus is ok with that too.  What's important is that you pray long & hard.  Sometimes trying too hard can produce more harm than good....so be careful please. 

I feel for you....and I'll keep you & your church in my prayers.

... are elected by people, or worse- appointed through vote scams. In either case, it is not the same as the kings of old when a king reigned because Yaweh was with him on the battlefield.

In the case of these Republics, the government is appointed by the people through our consent; therefore, the Romans 13 citation is absolutely void, as we have no authorities save for our neighbors. Those that folks may point to are only servants of the authority- the people.  Therefore, to submit to a servant is unnecessary and in all liklihood could be bowing to a false idol (in Hebrew, bowing/service/worship are the same... so becareful to whom you may bow or serve).
