I'm tying to get away from toothpaste with fluoride in it and I'm just curious what everyone else is using. When I went shopping at Target the other day I couldn't find any that didn't have fluoride.

I've heard some people just using baking soda, but I'm not sure if I want to use that twice a day everyday.
Thanks,
My mom grew up using baking soda .I use Arm and Hammer brand. The taste is not nearly as bad as you would think.

Go to any good health food store and you can find fluoride-free and SLS-free toothpaste.  Tom's of Maine is one brand that makes this type of toothpaste but not all stores carry their fluoride/sls-free version so unless the box specifically says fluoride-free then it's not flurodie free.

You can also make your own toothpaste/mouthwash using baking soda, salt, hydrogen peroxide, glycerin, and peppermint oil.  I've been making my own for years.

I use Hakeem Herbal.

I wouldn't like supporting TOMs because they add fluoride due to customer demand, so for profits.  They should be educating those who ask for fluoride added, not knowingly feeding them poison.

Tom's of Maine has a great line of products. Some items do have fluoride, so make sure you read the label.

I like this one too and you can find it at regular drugstores - do read the label though.

I use this http://www.iherb.com/productdetails.aspx?c=1&pid=6347&utm_source=gb&utm_medium=f

You should try shopping at whole market stores, because target, walmart, all the other major corporate **** wont carry good toothpaste.  Wink

Thanks for the link.  Just ordered a couple.  Reasonable price and shipping.

Anyone also try Oil pulling?  It sure makes your mouth feel clean plus there's supposed to other benefits.  I do it every morning.  http://www.oilpulling.com/

Dr. Nate's Naturals is the best fluoride and SLS free toothpaste—this toothpaste is formulated by a dentist.

We use Tom's and Thieves toothpastes, sometimes with baking soda sprinkled on top.  They work nicely, and don't have nasty flouride. Grin

you learn in macrobiotic, in terms of yin/yang (or acid/alkaline), the sugar (yin) and salt (yang), are at extreme opposite, so one 'expel' or 'repel' the other.

Salt water kills the bacteria that feed on the sugars in the food you eat, you noob.  Cheesy

"... salt water sets up a hypertonic environment; water rushes out of the bacterium by osmosis, killing the bacterium"
"Tooth decay is caused by specific types of acid-producing bacteria that cause damage in the presence of fermentable carbohydrates such as sucrose, fructose, and glucose"

Believe your ying/yang mumbo jumbo though... I'm sure it's nice to think it terms of 1+1=2

i just use baking soda, like many others of you.  it works great!  my teeth started getting whiter instantly upon initiation of the use of baking soda.  i just use dollar general brand.  a $1.50 box lasts a year more or less.

I use Grants Mineral-Herbal Toothpaste with Aloe Vera (No Sugar, Fluoride, Aluminium or Sodium Lauryl Sulphate). Sometimes I also get Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Toothpaste.

I use Tom's of Maine without Fluoride, but more importantly, I don't eat sugar, and I rarely eat carbohydrates. My teeth have never looked better, except for a small stain that developed before I cut out the fluoride.

I use baking soda for toothpaste, twice a day... sometimes use nothing at all just the toothbrush... most of the cleansing effect comes from the brushing action.  Toothpaste is just another product they created to make more money, but it is not necessary.

Thank you, guys!

I used to use Tom's of Maine, but you have to be careful because not all of their toothepaste is fluoride free, so read the label carefully. But now I use Nature's Gate (http://www.natures-gate.com/), which I think tastes better. I use Tom's deodorant still though...

Technically, it isn't a paste.  It is a mouthwash.  I also use herbal teas.  Selfheal is good for that.  It is also easy to grow.
