Hey guys,

I'm considering joining the NRA so that I can join a local target range. It's the only one that's nearby. Is there any cons to being a NRA member? My biggest fear is being on their member list when big brother decides to start confiscating guns. Anyone know how tough they are on privacy? I looked around some, but I haven't seen a clear picture.

I think being on this site has probably put you on a much more exlusive list already.

I used to be an NRA member before I woke up. They backed Bush in both elections and I voted for him twice. Then I woke up. I quit the NRA right away. By supporting Bush in his election and re-election it shows they have either been hoodwinked or they are in on "it".

The money you send to the NRA is that much less money you don't have to spend on guns and ammo. We already have the Second Amendment. That's all we need.

Or you can spend your $20 for a GOA membership...

GOA is the only way to go.  JMO, of course.

Well, I broke down and got the cheap NRA membership ($10) just so I can join the local target range.  Living in the city I need a place to work on my skills.

I've heard GOA is a much better organization.

I agree on the GOA, but I just needed NRA to join a target ranges. Sucks, but no other options, and it's a real nice peaceful range.

Another great group of Second Amendment Protectors, is Aaron Zelman's "Jews For the Preservation of Firearms Ownership"...

JPFO: www.jpfo.org

They pull no punches and are right there fighting the gun grabbers in Washington and around the country... JPFO and GOA are a pair you can draw to.

GOA: www.gunowners.org

Oh, I was a lifetime member of the NRA until 1994 when they rolled over and supported Clinton's crime bill... sent it back to them, and told them where to put it...
