A law which dates back 800 years to the Magna Carta is to be revoked and it will now be illegal to collect firewood from forests.

 The health and safety axe has finally come down on an 800-year-old tradition which dates back to the Magna Carta.

Forestry chiefs say they have been forced to overrule the charter due to the 'increasing constraints' of modern legislation.

The Magna Carta of 1215 included a Forest Charter which recognised the rights of commoners to get subsistence from common land. They were granted 'estovers' - dead wood - for fuel, to repair their homes, fix tools or make charcoal.

This sad example just shows you how "unfamiliar" the people have come to be with the idea of freedom. To even presume to need permission to spend a few days, roughing it with friends, crosses the line from liberty to tyranny. It's a very specific line.

Nope, I'm a white guy and I couldn't give a hoot if you were black or green or yellow. In fact, I'd prefer that you were one of those because different types of people is what makes people interesting in the first place. I've had my share of encounters with the cops, including at my home, but I understand we white guys have an easier time, generally speaking, than others. Tyranny is tyranny, whether it's motivated by race or anything else doesn't make a bit of difference.

On a side note-speaking of communications-I reccomend an alternate source of electricity.as far as the house goes-I'm f***ked right now.But in the radio room I will have batteries for the radios and a solar panel to charge them,wood for the stove,lanterns,oil lamps and I saw seven deer in the field across the street from my front yard one night (there is a pond loaded with fish over there too.)and there is an over abundance of small game in my neighborhood.Also will have a bigger garden this spring coming up.I finally acquired another bow(crossbow) and will be making arrows for it this week.been thinking about bugging out when the shithitsthefan,but I just can't see the practicality in it when I can be more effective on the inside.I'm rambling again-get a shortwave.I think under martial law,they will declare a state of emergency and probably issue a writ of radio silence by the amateur radio community but there are those that will go rogue.(I will neither confirm nor deny what I will do.I will say I have a modest but respectable station.)So with that said,I reccomend a shortwave for anybody that does not have one.
