Fox's Smith defends Obama on Israel

The Obama campaign may think they never get a fair shake on Fox, but Shep Smith didn't let inaccurate statements go by yesterday on-air.

Smith questioned Joe the Plumber on his foreign policy views after for the prominent McCain supporter agreed with a fellow supporter[1] that "a vote for Obama is a vote for death to Israel."

After hearing Joe's position -- despite admitting to not being a foreign policy expert, but someone who knows "just enough to be dangerous" -- Smith shot down the guy who's become a staple of McCain's stump speech.

"I just want to make this 100 percent perfectly clear, Barack Obama has said repeatedly and demonstrated repeatedly that Israel will always be a friend of the United States, no matter what happens once he becomes President of the United States. His words."

Seeming perplexed by Joe's rationale, Smith continued: "The rest of it -- man, some things -- it just gets frightening sometimes."
