The MSM is putting a positive spin on this and only taking positive comments... I am angered and disgusted beyond all imagination... We need to get mad and take direct action against this...

sadly it looks like the bill will pass. Im f**king pissed off. Maybe we need to remind these bastards who they're supposed to work for.
Passing this bill in the Senate just means it goes back to the house, where it will fail. The press doesn't talk about this, because they know most Americans don't know how government works, and they will stop calling the house telling them to vote no.

though we lost this round, I am very proud to be both an American and a Kansan. Both of my senators are true patriots for the way they voted this evening. Out of our 4 congressmen and woman, we only had 1 traitor, Dennis Moore. I strongly urge all of you in his district to ring his phone off the hook, flood his office with emails and faxes. Call up the patriots and give them your support. Tell them thankyou for listening to the will of their people.
For the rest of you fellow americans, it is not too late to beat this insane piece of legislation. Let's get to work.
God bless us in our efforts.

The callers to C-Span are all talking about "supporting this bill" and coming together and "unity" These are clearly screened callers and likely scripted and paid off and not real people...

When this passes the house and the economy crumbles to our feet, each and every SOB who voted yes WILL be held accountable. Even if we have to enforce our 2nd ammendmant right in a major show of force.Their yes vote is enough for a conviction to commit treason against our country and the penalty for treason is death. If this dosn't make the masses rise up, then nothing will. wake up america. LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC

This means they have attached countless bills, pork spending, tax breaks for the rich, and earmarks onto this 450+ page monster... This is infinitely worse than the bailout bill the house rejected, with even more propaganda and positive spin added onto it, and they are trying to silence anyone that says anything negative about it... The mainstream media stations are all in a sick orgy supporting this thing... I had to turn my TV off before I threw up...

how about a class action suit against the senators who voted for this. charge? gross misrepresentation of clients. Their clients (voters) said no, they ignored them, so therefor, it's negligence and misrepresentation. Just an idea.

Has this ever been done before? Do any of the senators who voted no tonight have the balls to support a suit?

Lawsuits are brought against legislation all the time. The problem being 1.) It is very expensive 2.) You are basically asking the federal government to rule against itself.

We could just sue them for violating the Constitution by passing 2 financial acts along with the bailout act before the House did.

I doubt the House will defeat it again. The 777 point drop was a message to the house. Tomorrow the market will rebound in a huge way and the House will be pressured to pass it because of fears of another huge drop. I hope that doesn't happen, but that's how I think this will be played out.

The callers into CSPAN are screened while calling in......you have to dial one number if you support it and another if you oppose it.
Dang you get cut off if you oppose it too!!

Here's the list of Senators who voted AGAINST the bailout: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/livecoverage/Posted at 9:55 PM ET, 10/ 1/2008 Senators Who Voted Against the Rescue Bill The modified $700 billion Wall Street rescue bill just passed the Senate by a 74-25 vote. Now it heads to the House; if it passes there, onto President Bush who favors the rescue plan. Here is a list of the senators who voted against the rescue bill: - Waye Allard (R-Colo.) - John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) - Sam Brownback (R-Kan.) - Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) - Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) - Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) - Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) - Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) - Elizabeth Dole (R-N.C.) - Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) - Michael Enzi (R-Wyo.) - Russ Feingold (D-Wisc.) - James Inhofe (R-Okla.) - Tim Johnson (D-S.D.) - Mary Landrieu (D-La.) - Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) - Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) - Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) - Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) - Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) - Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) - John Tester (D-Mont.) - David Vitter (R-La.) - Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) - Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) Of note: - The only senator not present at the vote was Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.), who is being treated for cancer. - By party, 16 Republicans and nine Democrats voted against. - Both senators from Alabama voted against, as did both from Wyoming, Kansas and Mississippi, all Republicans. -- Frank Ahrens

Maria Cantwell who opposed this has my vote next time she is up for election, but Patty Murray is OUT and Murray and all others who supported this will have a special place in hell and will be sent there by her former constituents which she betrayed.
