I always fall back on common sense and I wish more people would too.

Why in God's name would we ask the same group of people who can't keep the Social Security fund out of the red, to "save" us from this economic travisty?

The government is the biggest failed company of them all.

We are seeing it live and in color.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY.

LIARS to the nth degree, I mean they are so devoid of any reality whatsoever.

The senate is known to be much more corrupt than the House.

They always vote for stuff like NAU immigration plans, and other acts of treason.

But this bill is completely exposed.

I cannot believe they are really just standing there and lying.

REALITY BREAK:

"There are no necessary evils in government. The Treasury to you, gentlemen, is closed."
http://mccotter.house.gov/HoR/MI11/Home/

Full transcript below:

by Thaddeus McCotter,
Michigan 12th District

Thank you. I rise today not to change anyone's mind but to express to my constituents my reasons for opposing this bill. There will always be time and pretext enough for people to compromise their principles and put forward poor public policy that may in the short run be popular but in the long run will be detrimental to the long-term interests of the American people. We learn this through history.

In the 1832 Bank Panic, Andrew Jackson had the question of whether he would remove the Bank of the United States' charter. The people in the bank did not like that. They threatened the prosperity of the American people and in the middle of the panic Andrew Jackson looked at these bankers and said: "There are no necessary evils in government. The treasury to you, gentlemen, is closed." This was an act of courage on the part of President Jackson because he understood what was at stake was not merely an ephemeral prosperity or a panic caused by the very people with their hand out. Andrew Jackson understood this was about majoritarian rule. It was about the faith in the people's representative institutions and those who inhabit the seats in which they are entrusted.

Today we are in a global financial bank panic. It is the first of our global economy. We are seeing a leveraged bailout of the United States Treasury. And in the end, these interests that want your money are threatening your prosperity. And the choice you face is this: You will lose, potentially, for prosperity for a short period of time, at the expense of your long-term Liberty. Once the federal government has got you to take that risk and pass it onto you as a quote-unquote moral hazard, they will be in the marketplace and as the free market is diminished your freedom itself is diminished. And as your Congress does not stand up to these and put forward a better plan that truly protects the taxpayers, and truly has the long-term interests of the United States at heart, you will be in jeopardy of losing both your prosperity and your Liberty.

The choice is stark and it was put forward in the book by Doestoevsky. In the Brothers Karamazov the Grand Inquisitor came to Jesus and he said, "If you wish to subject the people, give them miracle, mystery and authority; but above all give them bread." And it has always been the temptation in a crisis especially to sacrifice Liberty for short-term promises of prosperity. And it was no mistake during that during the 1917 Bolshevik revolution the slogan was "Peace, land, and bread." Today you are being asked to choose between bread and freedom. I suggest that the people on Main Street have said they prefer their freedom, and I am with them.

I yield back.

There are 100 members in the Senate and guess it will be majority vote.

My bet is that it will pass tonight.  After that I think that either they will try and have the vote in Congress when few people are there or try and dig up some dirt on the people that voted no the first tme and try and blackmail them.  Hell, I'm suprissed Bush has not said pass this bill or the election is called off.

UUUUGGGGHHHHHHH

Mitch McConnell (R-KY) TRAITOR extraordinaire

http://www.crewsmostcorrupt.org/node/308
Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)
Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is a fourth-term member of the senate.  He is the  Minority Leader in the 110th Congress and sits on the Senate Appropriations Committee.  Sen. McConnell’s ethics issues stem from earmarks he has inserted into legislation for clients of his former chief of staff, lobbyist Gordon Hunter Bates, in exchange for campaign contributions as well as the misuse of his nonprofit The McConnell Center for Political Leadership at the University of Louisville.  Sen. McConnell was profiled in CREW’s 2007 congressional corruption report.

Gordon Hunter Bates and the Bates Capitol Group LLC

Gordon Hunter Bates served as Sen. McConnell’s chief legal counsel and then chief of staff from 1997 to 2002.  After a 2003 lawsuit ended his bid for Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky, he opened a lobbying firm, Bates Capitol Group LLC (Bates Capitol).  Bates Capitol clients include: E-Cavern, Voice for Humanity, Appriss Inc. and Boardpoint LLC, all of which have received  earmarks thanks to Sen. McConnell.  In addition, the senator rewrote legislation to help another Bates Group client, UPS Inc.  All of these companies have made substantial contributions to Sen. McConnell’s campaigns.

If Sen. McConnell accepted donations to his campaign and political action committees in direct exchange for earmarking federal funds to clients of Bates Capitol, he may have violated the bribery statute and House rules.  In addition, by using his position as a member of Congress to financially benefit clients of a lobbying firm owned by his former staff member, Sen. McConnell may be depriving his constituents, the United States Senate and the United States of his honest services.

The McConnell Center for Political Leadership

The McConnell Center for Political Leadership was founded by Sen. McConnell in 1991 as a non-profit organization for which the senator raises funds.  Two of the largest donors to the McConnell Center are Ashland Inc. and UPS, which have donated $500,000 and $400,000 respectively.  Some donations to the McConnell Center have been delivered to Sen. McConnell’s Capitol Hill office.

The University of Louisville Foundation was sued by the Courier Journal because the center insisted on maintaining the anonymity of its donors.  In August 2008, the Kentucky Supreme Court held that the University of Louisville could not withhold information about donors from public records requests.  The court agreed with the newspaper that “certain donors may not simply wish to conceal their identities, but rather may wish to conceal the true purposes of their donations.”  Though the court ruled that the identities of 62 donors who requested their donations be anonymous need not be revealed, future donors will not be permitted to make anonymous donations.

If Sen. McConnell provided legislative assistance in return for contributions to the McConnell Center, he may have violated federal law and House rules.

Here is a thought..

Earlier, Dodd said something to the effect that "Even though the chamber is 'empty', my words will still go on record and will be looked back upon...."  Not sure he used the word "empty" but he did elude to the fact that no one was there.

Perhaps, our decenters know that they won't be granted any time and chose to spend their time more wisely... like, READING THE DAMN BILL.  Just a thought.

National Review
Heritage Foundation
AARP
Larry Kudlow
Wall Street Journal
Newt Gingrich

ALL SUPPORT THIS TREASON...

AARP - agreed to Bush's no bid pharmaceutical socialist corporatism treason bill

Heritage Foundation (subsidiary of Rockefeller's Council on Foreign Relations) - Wants to end US sovereignty because important matters cannot be left to people who are stupid (their philosophy)

Newt Gingrich....TRAITOR!

Get ready for Lou Dobbs/Rush Limbaugh/GOP House members to do a switch and show their true colors.

Looks like this might be their trump card.  Newt still has weight and McConnell may have leaked the game plan.

BTW Bob Casey (D-PA) TRAITOR to the constitution

Conspiracy to commit fraud on the American People.

"Gentlemen, I have had men watching you for a long time and I am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter, I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a den of vipers and thieves . . . I intend to rout you out, and by the Eternal God I will rout you out!"
