Its been over 8 months now since my city started adding fluoride into our water system. I live in the foothills of southern California and we get our water from reservoirs throughout our local mountains. Its always been fresh water with no fluoride.

I want to educate my city of 40k+ citizens and would like input how to do so. My idea would be to create a flyer with info about fluoride and pictures too, since pictures are like a 1000 words. I would then mail them out to every citizen asking them to complain to city officials. The problem is ... at 40 cents a stamp, thats going to be like $16k in mailings, plus the paper and toner for the laser printer. I dont want to go to Kinko's or send anything bulk mail rate and have a big paper trail or electronic trail. Id like to just do what I can do without much of a trace. (id like to expand my house soon and any knowledge of who I am might undermine my house expansion by the city denying permits, etc).

My city is divided a few ways. We have two zip codes... one zip code is a middle class of people, the other is upper class (a few major league baseball players live in the hills). We also have a core historic district of approx 10k people surrounding the city hall.

So, #1 is this a decent idea? #2 how do I cut costs? Maybe targeting only the citizens with money? or just the historic district surrounding the city hall?  #3 What other feasible ideas could I do #4 Im also considering starting a fluoride website and hiding my whois info... maybe i can plaster the website everywhere. #5 Is there an easy way to get a hold of all mailing address in a particular city?

All my neighbors didnt know our water has been fluoridated when I told them about it last night (for like the 3rd time). I sent some fluoride info to a neighbor a couple months ago and her reply, was something short and generic like "hey, thats interesting, thanks". They dont remember getting a flyer from the city in the mail regarding this. I still have mine. It was actually covered up in a letter stating the city was consolidating the trash pickup with the water bill... and OH YAH... we'll be adding fluoride in the water now.

I just gotta do something. Its been eating at me for a while now.

Go to the city council meetings every time they're held to hand out fliers and speak in front of the council. People who attned the meetings are more likely to do something with the information. If that doesn't work I'd suggest handing out fliers at a local Wal-Mart or large store many people in your city use. Good luck!
