Raspberry PI
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raspberry_Pi

I think you will find the answers you are looking for by studying how they delivered the Raspberry PI design. It was all done by a non-profit organization.

Its also a lot more powerful than a windows desktop user would assume. While I do not want to start off one of those circular discussions of Windows Gamer Addicts versus Linux Nerds, a lot of the hardware answers are with software. In the sense that how much hardware do you need, depends on what software you wish to run.

Questions like "How much hardware do you need to run a web server ?" will elicit very different responses depending on what software you wish to use.

But heck, I'm probably talking to myself again .. .. ..

While I am pleased, I would caution that it simply will be a marginal speed increase.

Is not going to really benefit from the quad core unless a bit of software can make use of it, and even if the cores can get in motion, the stuff still has the bottleneck of getting up and down the bus.

Still the raw clock increase and the extra memory will help.

It is a logical progression that will not be earth shaking, but then that is what the Raspberry Pi needed, a moderate upgrade. The price remains static, and yet it gets a useful performance upgrade.

I am really pleased with my Raspberry Pi

It is unbeatable value for money, especially if you want to leave your computer on over night, or just want to watch a film.

Raspberry Pi: 10 Million Served https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAidYzFJHLc

Sep 16, 2016 TWiT Netcast Network

Megan Morrone and Jason Howell discuss the 10 millionth sale of a Raspberry Pi. PC World reports that Eben Upton, the man behind the cheap computer never had commercial success in mind.

In honor of that the company is offering a new starter kit which includes a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B, an 8GB NOOBS SD card, an official case, an official 2.5A multi-region power supply, an official 1m HDMI cable, an optical mouse and a keyboard with high-quality scissor-switch action and a copy of the book, Adventures in Raspberry Pi Foundation Edition.

It's available in the UK right now for 99£, which is about $140. It will be available to the rest of the world in the coming weeks.

Every time you buy a Raspberry Pi you fund their ongoing engineering work, and the companies educational outreach programs.
