Indeed, the Russians provoke the rebels in s. ossetia to act. Georgia goes to take their land back, Russians have the reason, to attack and decimate/invade Georgia. I think someone was talking about this on this thread before, Georgia is off the map in google maps, talk about internet censorship. Maybe this is an *exceptional* situation - i.e. mass military buildups

Dude chill!!! The Georgian president is nothing but a puppet , controlled by the globalists. He is doing what he is told to do. Of course Russia is glorafied, we know better but still they are showing the news, and it is all that matters at the moment. Don't always believe what you see learn to pick out info that might be true, or the info that might be false. Why are you telling me that? I am aware of all you just said. I think there was a misunderstanding somewhere.

I'm not talking about that at all. Turn on CNN and find out for yourself what propaganda is. The reporting that Georgia is innocent IS the important propaganda here, not the caricature of Georgia's president.
So russia rolls the tanks into their country ..and bombs civilian citys from the air, and it's propoganda that russia is in the wrong?..so georgia is guilty of?..having a soveriegn nation?...

Haven't you followed any of the news? Russia sent columns of tanks and bombed Georgian air bases today after Georgia launched a major military offensive to retake the breakaway province of South Ossetia.

Exactly thats why the rebels have to rights no break away. Kind off like the Confederacy during the Civil War here(bad example more like lets say all the Italians is some italian neighborhood in New York decided they are being oppressed and they wanna have sovereigty) . If they dont like it they all are Russians so why not just move away?> Plus the Russians have been waiting for something like this for a while, they escalated and supported the rebels (the rebels in the area are a minority backed by the russian government) , began the succesion, Georgia attacks ossetia in order to take it back, Russia says georgia is evil, and then tries to decimate georgia to pieces. I bet Russia would love to take back Georgia under its wing.

so georgia is guilty of?..having a soveriegn nation --- attacking of the teritory of South Ossetia. Russians are peacekeepers in this region under resolution of the UN. So if you attack "blue helmets" , you have to consider that they have a right to fight u back .USA have no right to ask russia to withdraw from ossetia --- no after what they did to Yugoslavia and Kosovo. Not after attack on Iraq , Afganistan and most possible on Iran.If Kosovo has right to be independent , Ossetia too . Saka is a big puppet controled by Us goverment . Hope he has some prozac , he gonna need it soon.

Who the hell knows... I've learned that I know diddly squatt until long after it happens. But something in this one wreeks of really bad things ahead. Could even be the big one. Scary shit indeed. Where's Venezuela, Cuba, NK, LIBERIA, Israel, Pakistan??? These elite pigs can f**k us up badly - any time they want - and that has got to end.

South Ossetia is a region in the South Caucasus, formerly the South Ossetian Autonomous Oblast within the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic, part of which has been de facto independent from Georgia since its declaration of independence as the Republic of South Ossetia during the Georgian-Ossetian conflict early in the 1990s. This conflict has been going on for a long time now. Abkhazia is another breakaway republic from Georgia.

If Russia takes georgia and shreds it to pieces, without the international community bugging in then "yes" Russia is winning. We really have to stay focused on what the so called "neutral" parties do in the steps ahead.

Last Updated: 6:55PM BST 08 Aug 2008 video: http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1488655367/bctid1719751815World leaders have appealed for a ceasefire in the conflict, which erupted after Georgia launched a huge offensive aimed at imposing its control over the rebel province with its large Russian population. Separatist leaders in the South Ossetian capital Tskhinvali claim that more than a thousand people have been killed in Georgian shelling. "We won't allow the death of our compatriots to go unpunished," Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said, adding that he would "protect the lives and dignity of Russian citizens wherever they are located". Georgia claims that Russian aircraft have bombed two of its airbases, and that it has shot down five Russian jets. President Mikheil Saakashvili of Georgia described the situation as "war". "Russia is fighting a war with us in our own territory," he said in an interview with CNN. Moscow has denied sending aircraft into Georgian territory, but indicated that its forces have engaged with Georgian troops. Sergei Lavrov, Russia's foreign minister, accused the Georgians of carrying out "ethnic cleansing" on the people of South Ossetia, most of whom have Russian passports. The conflict threatens to draw in other world powers, with Mr Saakashvili considered a key ally of the West. The US has declared that it supports Georgia's "territorial integrity". As a column of Russian tanks advanced towards Tskhinvali, Mr Lavrov called on the West to reach "the right conclusions" over the conflict, saying the Georgian offensive had been made possible by Western military aid to Tbilisi. "Now we see Georgia has found a use for these weapons and for the special forces that were trained with the help of international instructors," he said. "I think our European and American colleagues ... should understand what is happening. And I hope very much that they will reach the right conclusions." The military operation marks the first time Russian troops have taken action on foreign soil since the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan in 1989. Georgia has warned that any involvement of Russian forces in the conflict would result in a state of war between the two countries. The Russian military reported that ten Russians were killed and 30 injured during Georgian shelling of their barracks, but Georgian officials denied firing on Russian peacekeepers in the area during their offensive in South Ossetia. The move by Russian troops followed a series of statements by Russian leaders pledging to protect Russian citizens in the region in the face of a massive Georgian military attack on South Ossetia. Mr Putin, on a trip to Beijing to attend the Olympics opening, sharply criticised the Georgian attack and warned it will draw retaliatory actions. He spoke after meeting briefly with US President George W Bush in Beijing. Mr Putin did not specify what kind of retaliatory action may follow, but Russia's Defence Ministry pledged to protect Russian citizens in the region. Most of the region's residents have Russian passports. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev later chaired a session of his security council in the Kremlin, vowing that Moscow will protect Russian citizens. "In accordance with the constitution and the federal law, I, as president of Russia, am obliged to protect the lives and dignity of Russian citizens wherever they are located," Mr Medvedev said in televised remarks. "We won't allow the death of our compatriots to go unpunished." Russia's Defence Ministry denounced the Georgian attack as a "dirty adventure." "Blood shed in South Ossetia will weigh on their conscience," the ministry said in a statement posted on its official website. "We will protect our peacekeepers and Russian citizens," it said without elaboration. Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili accused Russia of aggression, saying that Russian jets bombed several Georgian villages, wounding seven civilians. A Russian diplomat denied that Russian aircraft had bombed Georgian territory.

Lack of UN reaction worsened Georgia-South Ossetia conflict - RussiaThe UN Security Council is holding another meeting to discuss the escalation of fighting in South Ossetia, this time at Georgia’s request. The previous closed-door emergency session called by Russia failed to reach a decision on the situation in the conflict zone. The Russian Ambassador to the UN Vitaly Churkin says the lack of a swift response to the violence led to its escalation. "I am compelled to state that Georgia continues its treacherous attack on South Ossetia. This is happening despite the appeal of the Russian leadership for an immediate ceasefire and an end to this fratricidal conflict and resumption of the negotiating process. This scenario has become possible as a result of the connivance by a number of Security Council members who blocked last night’s assessment of the tragedy on the basis of the documents submitted last night by Russia. The aggression was perpetrated in violation of the fundamental principles of the United Charter on non use of force". And speaking at the UN security council, the Georgian Ambassador Irakli Alasania accused Russia of supporting a regime which encouraged ethnic cleansing: "It was apalling to hear from the Russian Federation representative talking about the ethnic cleansing supposedly perpetrated by the Georgian armed forces. I want to remind the Council and Ambassador Churkin that it is the Russian Federation who really was supporting and is supporting militarily the regime in Tskhinvali and Sukhumi who are the perpetrators of the ethnic cleansing which is confirmed by the numerous OSCE declarations and UN documents". UN rejects Russia-drafted resolution Earlier the Security Council rejected a Russia-drafted resolution calling on Georgia and South Ossetia to immediately put down their weapons. The US, Britain and some other members backed the Georgians in rejecting a phrase in the three-sentence statement that would have required both sides "to renounce the use of force." But now there seems to be a slight shift of attitudes of some sides that were reluctant to the resolution. "This meeting has indicated that the international community and most of the Security Council members are not prepared to put up with the military means in settling those long-standing disputes," Russian ambassador to UN Vitaly Churkin said about the UN meeting held earlier on Friday. Speaking after the meeting, Vitaly Churkin said the Georgian leadership had lost the international community's trust as a result of its military operation. "All of Tbilisi's actions have fully undermined the credit of trust vested in the Georgian leadership as a committed party in the negotiations and in international dealings that meet the UN principles and charter," he said. http://www.russiatoday.ru/news/news/28688

Same as the rest of us just like this says - A few days before the 2004 presidential election, Ron Suskind, a columnist who had been investigating the White House and its communications for years, wrote in The New York Times about a conversation he had with a presidential adviser in 2002. “The aide said that guys like me were ‘in what we call the reality-based community’, which he defined as people ‘who believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality’. I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. ‘That’s not the way the world really works anymore,’ he continued. ‘We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you’re studying that reality – judiciously, as you will – we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out. We’re history’s actors.. and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do’ ” http://mondediplo.com/2008/01/04scheherazade

a puppet at least, he might be an idiot too though his actions make no sense if he's in this alone which must lead one to conclude that he most likely is having his strings pulled for motives well beyond those of his citizens' or country's well being

Ok, so i just checked this Lithuanian website and apppareantly Anti-Georgian sentiments are rising in Russia. Information is being collected on every Georgian in Russia, the members of the Russian government are calling for deportation of every Georgian, because they see them as a threat. Pro-Kremlin youth groups and others, are protesting near the Georgian embassy in Moscow. The Russian police seems to be on the protesters, side and violence could brake out. Social unrest..... This pretty much sums up the article, original link here: http://www.delfi.lt/news/daily/world/article.php?id=18003055

They dont fear because they know that the USA, the European Union etc. will back them up. Maybe they were instructed to do what they are doing, which would explain alot. Update: Russian Planes Bomb Georgian Airfield, Port; South Ossetia Fighting ContinuesTbilisi, Georgia (AHN) - Russian warplanes bombed a port and airfield in Georgia while Russian forces battled Georgian troops in the breakaway province of South Ossetia on Friday. Georgian television reported that the Black Sea port of Poti was destroyed while the Georgian Foreign Ministry claimed that air strikes killed and wounded personnel at the Viziani airfield near the capital Tbilisi. Four Russian planes bombing Georgian territory were shot down, Georgian officials said. "All day today, they've been bombing Georgia from numerous warplanes and specifically targeting [the] civilian population, and we have scores of wounded and dead among [the] civilian population all around the country," Georgia's president, Mikhail Saakashvili was quoted by CNN as saying on Friday. About 150 Russian armored vehicles have entered South Ossetia and Georgian forces had shot down two Russian aircraft, said Saakashvili. Meanwhile, Russian troops are battling the Georgian army in South Ossetia's southern region of Tskhinvali, a Russian military official said, according to Interfax. About 1,400 people were killed in South Ossetia, said Eduard Kokoity, head of the rebel government in the province. Twelve Russian soldiers were also killed there during clashes with the Georgian army. The fighting erupted when Georgian troops allegedly invaded South Ossetia on Friday to reclaim the breakaway province. Russia immediately sent troops and tanks to South Ossetia to protect Russian citizens there. http://www.gantdaily.com/news/36/ARTICLE/27727/2008-08-08.html

We’re history’s actors.. and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do’ ”http://mondediplo.com/2008/01/04scheherazadeThat is so goddamn fukked up and evil, when you truely take a good look at the phsycology behind that statement. God Help Us.

Dependence begets subservience and venality, suffocates the germ of virtue, and prepares fit tools for the designs of ambition.
