Well, reading, yes, there are bots to do that. But surely you don't believe that people posting stuff that disagrees with the consensus are actually working for the state?

I've read loads of stuff about "cointelpro" and so forth, and I'm just not sure that I buy it. I think its 90% paranoia, 9% conjecture and 1% fact, with an error margin or +/- 1%.

A lot of the "cointelpro" material just seems to be unwelcome, but genuine, facts that simply do not tally with the party line.

well I certainly can't prove outright that 'they' are posting ( although Alex has mentioned many instances of IPs tracing to the feds ).  But it seems like the logical conclusion. I don't care of most or all trolls is simply citizen disruption, my opinion is the same. We must maintain order, because we are the targets of much hatred.

I agree with you and I know most people aren't trolls, and I don't believe banning people but sometimes its essential when you have people making ridiculous posts such as "I agree with truthers that send DVD to soldiers should get shot" thats just radical at best, and theres no need for that

Maintaining order is one thing, but is it acceptable to use that label 'troll' in exactly the same way that the MSM uses 'conspiracy theorist', ie to devalue someone purely because they are saying something that the powers that be would rather not have said?

It is one thing to call someone a troll if they are posting nonsense just to irritate people. But branding someone a troll just because they are questioning or disputing something that has been written in this forum is quite another issue.

I think its clear that "troll" is being used as a tool to discredit people who are posting things that do not agree with the orthodox opinion in this forum. In that respect it is becoming a very real and pernicious form of censorship.

In fact, they may as well be calling people heretics, it would apply equally well in the context in which it is being used here.

Agreed. But, in a forum where freedom of speech and liberty are key issues, there needs to be a certain sensitivity to those values.

That sensitivity is not served by using the threat of deletion as a tool to win arguments.

You need look no further than that post if you want to see clear evidence of the abuse of privilege by a mod threatening deletion to win an argument. Its all there in black and white, at least until it gets memory holed.

I most assuredly believe they are here, both reading and posting.  Why?  Good heavens - there are HOW many CCTV cameras operating in the U.K. for surveillance purposes and no one imagines that they troll known 'truth' sites?  I believe there was an entire thread on here previously from a poster who tried to get to Bilderberg and was stopped by one of the 'security' people, who told him EXACTLY what he had posted on here.  I believe it was an exchange between him and SUB-X.

one thing though. Never agree ( or say you do ) with those who are confirmed trolls ( and he was, trust me ). This is three fold:

Like I say, I believe that the forum is watched. We have evidence for that.

I just don't believe that there is a department within the CIA that is dedicated to posting slightly dissenting takes on anti-NWO themes on internet forums just to "discredit" a radio host.

This whole "troll" thing is being exploited far too much for the purposes of censorship.

It doesn't matter how often you post, or what you post about, the moment you write something that goes against the official AJS take on things you are in the CIA or something, its ridiculous, truly ridiculous.

Well regardless, Timiat is obviously a troll, and I'm not one who uses that term much on these boards. You'll not only notice his previous posts, but the fact that he starts threads like this and then doesn't even offer to back up his points after the first post. Yes, the terms "troll" "agent" "cointelpro" etc. are overused on this board, but you have to look at the person who's saying it. Some people call everyone who disagrees with them trolls, that only goes to hurt their personal reputations, others only use the term on appropriate occasions. But in this case, the OP was trolling and should be dealt with.

As for wether or not we're being watched, I would think we certainly are. With the current laws and such we definately throw up some flags to the homeland security goons. And if that isn't enough, I know that entrance administrators for some medical schools view people's posts on certain internet hotspots for that profession. So if school board members are doing things like that, you can bet the government is on some level too.

We can't dismiss the idea that EVERYONE is in a unique phase of understanding/wakeneduppedness or whatever. Some are new to the idea that our world is all an illusion, while others "just know something's wrong", but never pay much thought. They post good stuff and bad stuff, not because they're operatives, but becaue they're learning - and as we know, there's plenty still to learn. I personally woke up 30 years ago but still don't really know what's going on. I do know one thing, though, that there are unbelievably rich and powerful people who run the world. It's an oligarchy. We're their slaves. At least I know that.

I use this forum more for the news articles than any real posting. Serious discussions have to be done elsewhere, there are better forums if you want uncensored, unmediated exchange of ideas and information. This one just happens to have a lot of news articles.

Many people have been banned from this forum for the most spurious of reasons, so much so that it has become a topic on a great many other truth forums and threatens to make this one a laughing stock.

Many people have begun to regard the pp forum as synonymous with censorship and I see little to disprove them.

It is not acceptable, on a forum that is discussing issues related directly to freedom strategy, to practice the unbounded and unaccountable degree of censorship that is practiced here.

There are many occasions where mod powers are abused, and I think that is because there are too few of them. However, I'm prepared to accept some degree of unnecessary 'modding' to get such a good forum - they don't have time to examine every case, I'm guessing, so just hammer for safety.

people know what they are getting when they join this forum, except those that are so ignorant as to start accusing first amendment breaches, but generally it is a moderated forum, so i dont understand why some people are so surprised when things are moderated...

generally, if you pm the moderator of the particular board, asking nicely for a reason, you will get one, but starting a thread about how you've been censored is well...i think you get the idea.

i'll tell you what, let me put it like this, if we moderate "too much" then people will be calling for less, if we were to moderate "too little" then there would be people calling for more, not to mention people who say no moderation at all (which in my opinion is simply naive)

i understand that some people feel certain bans were unfair, however, i have seen some people write letters that would make you think we gave them cancer let alone temporarily ban them from an internet forum, and there are people that have criticised AJ and this site and not been banned, mick, you are a testament to that are you not?

that's my reasoning. It would hardly be worth coming here if it we're INFESTED with trolls ( >= 50% of members as trolls, that would be bad. Bottomline: a waste of bytes on the net ). If there's less, we'll scream 'more'. And when we get more, we scream 'too much'.

The currently existing balance is fine by me. I'm still here, and I don't hesitate to disagree.
