Judge: Ohio Must Stop Using 2 Drugs In Lethal Injections

ELYRIA, Ohio -- A judge ruled that Ohio must stop using two of the three drugs administered in lethal injections.

Lorain County Common Pleas Judge James Burge said those drugs can cause a condemned inmate to suffer pain.

Burge said the state must drop the combination of drugs and focus instead on a single anesthetic.
 

The ruling Tuesday comes in the case of two murder defendants who said the state's execution method doesn't provide the quick and painless death required by Ohio law.

It's important to explain exactly what the "cruel & unusual
punishment" issue is here:

The way the lethal injection system is setup is designed to empower
the state, and specifically the execution team, the option to subject,
at their whim, the victim to excruciating torture by injecting the strapped
down prisoner with a drug which totally paralyzes the victim while the
screws hold back administrating drug which stops the heart.

During the intervening time frame the prisoner is totally paralyzed and
unable to breath and is suffering excruciating torture from drowning sensation
similar to waterboarding torture where the victim is handcuffed tied
to a board and head forced underwater forcing the victim to suffer extreme
agony in silence until the screws feel like releasing the cardiac arresting
injection.

Naturally prison authorities, in their infinite perversion and corruption,
will lie & spin ad infinitum to deny it but that does not change the the
fact that it's calculated horrific torture by the state.

The criminals running the government and the crime families who own them
by rights should be on death row for their crimes against humanity and not
the poor and illiterate.

I don't think they can do that. Didn't the Supreme Court rule not long ago that the drugs used in lethal injection do NOT constitute cruel and unusual punishment and that any executions put on hold could go forward?

I wonder if the con thinks about the little girl and the way her legs were held excruciatingly far part as he slobbered in her ear? Or the total fear and panic in the eyes of the mother of two he snatched from in front of the supermarket as she made her way back to her car?
