Pringles packager buried in chip can

June 04, 2008 03:44am
Article from: The Daily Telegraph

THE man who designed the Pringles potato crisp packaging system was so proud of his accomplishment some of his ashes were buried in one of the tall, circular cans.

Fredric J. Baur, of Cincinnati, died on May 4 at Vitas Hospice in Cincinnati, his family said.

He was 89 years old.

His children said they honoured their father's request to bury him in one of the cans by placing part of his cremated remains in a Pringles container in his grave.

Baur designed the Pringles tube more than 40 years ago, in 1966.
