After Hurricane Maria, what will it take to turn Puerto Rico's power back on?

https://www.theverge.com/2017/9/25/16362410/hurricane-maria-puerto-rico-power-outages-electrical-grid-destroyed

Puerto Rico still has major problems. Infrastructure problems (roads, airport, ports, electric out for 90%, break up of local officials, etc) are keeping supplies from getting to the people. The grid was dessimated.

The port is full of supplies but no way to dustribute without roads or drivers.

Cnn bitches, but doesnt carry the Fema press conferences that inform people. Do your damn job CNN. If you can show the childish NFL kneelers ad nauseum, and keep reporting lies about Russia crap, you can carry official reports from officials on Puerto Rico.

I just watched the blonde (short straight hair) idiot on CNN (noon show) ask the fema director 3 times (who is doing a superb job despite the incredible challenges) how do you think things are going. She was implying they were not doing their job and had to repeat it like a parrot. How stupid is this little girl? The director told her if you would carry the many fema press conferences you would know. He was disgusted, as we all are with the children on CNN.

This is a sterling opportunity for Trump and Congress to step in with the restorative infrastructure agenda. They could be heroes.

One of the problems with the power grid in the US is that it is dependent on above-ground poles. There has been some progress with underground electrical cables that would be resistant to hurricane damage in the future.

Another thing that would work is to eliminate any and all government restrictions on private solar panels. No electrical grid to destroy.
The number one cause of all human poverty, misery, and death is not global warming. It’s GLOBAL LYING.

Agreed, but too many cowards and globalist minions on both sides of the aisle are sabotaging him doing this on the mainland. Maybe he can do this for Puerto Rico because it would not be acceptable to not help these people. I dare the weasals on both sides to throw a monkey wrench in the recovery. This will take time. A major job.

FEMA flood maps exposed as another government LIE … 75% of flooded homes in southeast Houston were OUTSIDE FEMA flood zones

...Now it has emerged that a study published in the journal Natural Hazards Review just days before Harvey unleashed its fury on the state warned that FEMA’s 100-year flood plain maps had failed to capture at least 75 percent of the flood damage over southeast Houston during the decade from 1999 to 2009. The study was conducted by researchers from Rice University and Texas A&M University at Galveston.

This is a massive issue because state and federal officials use FEMA’s maps to plan for floods, and insurance companies use them to assess and predict risk when they insure their clients....

So...many people who MIGHT have been covered by flood insurance WEREN'T.  Thanks to the perfessers at Rice and A&M, and FEMA.

Woman dies of flesh-eating bacteria after wading through flood waters in storm-ravaged Houston

Earlier this month we reported that as flood waters receded in storm-ravaged Texas and Florida from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma respectively the risk of contracting tissue-eating bacteria was much higher. And while that story dealt primarily with brain-eating bacteria, the danger that other micro-sized flesh consumers could emerge was laid out.

It now appears as though the fears were well-founded.

As reported by USA Today, a woman who lived in a suburban Houston neighborhood that experienced severe flooding has now died from a flesh-eating bacteria. Harris County medical examiners say the bacteria entered her body via a tear in her skin.

The autopsy conducted by the medical examiner’s office found that 77-year-old Nancy Reed died Sept. 15 from necrotizing fasciitis, which is more commonly known as a “flesh-eating bacteria.”

TRUMP PROVEN RIGHT ON PUERTO RICO

https://www.infowars.com/trump-proven-right-on-puerto-rico/

The left needs to quit whining, condoning violence, creating paid protestors who hide behind masks because they are cowards, acting like babies and start acting like real Americans. You are a disgrace to your country.

If you want to live in a socialist country with little freedom, then leave. You have many choices to move to if you enjoy enslavement. You are ungrateful idiots.

Hurricane Maria has dealt a heavy blow to Puerto Rico’s bankrupt utility and fragile electric grid
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/energy-environment/wp/2017/09/20/puerto-ricos-power-company-was-already-bankrupt-then-hurricane-maria-hit/?utm_term=.9f87bf9dc659

Special Report: The bankrupt utility behind Puerto Rico’s power crisis

Restoring the grid after the worst storm to hit here in nine decades would be a monumental task even for a well-run utility. It will be much harder for the chronically underfunded Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA), which went bankrupt in July amid mounting maintenance problems, years-long battles with creditors, a shrinking workforce and frequent management turnover.
