TRUMP'S AMERICA - The First 100 Days - and BEYOND
« on: January 20, 2017, 01:40:37 PM »

... let's start here:

Donald Trump will remove landmark climate protection
plan, says first post on White House website

The Climate Action Plan was introduced four years ago as a
national strategy for tackling climate change

Andrew Griffin

Donald Trump's first post on the White House website suggests destroying America's strategy to tackle climate change.

After President Trump took over the site, he posted six "Issues" to its home page. The first of those is an "America First Energy Plan".

The first proposal in that document suggests getting rid of "burdensome regulations on our energy industry". Those include getting rid of "harmful and unnecessary policies such as the Climate Action Plan and the Waters of the US rule".

I'm fed up with the brainwashing that nationalism is nazism.

The Donald said that patriotism is inclusive without prejudice and I rather liked that.

"It was during the signing ceremony that refreshing moments of levity from the president and his family were seen—a nice reminder that behind the formality, politicians and their families are people too.

Adding to the good humor of the room was President Trump's 10-year-old son, Barron, who was caught by cameras being practically the best uncle ever to half-sister Ivanka's youngest son, Teddy:"

... Mr. Maddow: 'America First' is Hitlerian?

If Benjamin Netanyahu gave an internationally televised "Israel first" speech to a crowd of cheering Zionists, would Maddow call that Hitlerian?

If not, why not?

Trump’s Takeover Of The White House
Website Was Swift And Ruthless

RYAN PICKRELL.  01/20/2017

As Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th president of the United States, the White House website changed dramatically.

The website changed at 12:01 P.M., just after Trump became the president. The site is steadily being updated to reflect the policies of the new administration, with the policies of the former administration disappearing.

Rather than displaying information about President Barack Obama’s legacy, the website’s home page now reads “Let’s Make America Great Again, Together,” with the subtitle reading, “The movement continues — the work begins.”

In addition to the administration pages, the policy pages have changed completely. The climate change page, for instance, has vanished entirely, along with the pages on foreign policy, the Iran deal, healthcare, immigration, and others.

The LGBT pages are also gone.

Donald gets to work:
President Trump enters the Oval Office for the first time and
immediately signs executive order to 'ease the burden of Obamacare'

  * President Donald Trump signed his first executive orders on Friday within minutes of his White House arrival
  * For his first official act as president, he declared General James Mattis as Secretary of Defense
  * The second order was less precise - it vowed somewhat vaguely to 'ease the burden of Obamacare'
  * The orders came within minutes of Trump's official entrance to the White House after the Inaugural Parade
  * They were joined by their 10-year-old son Barron for a brief appearance before hopping back into their limo
  * Later, the couple will attend three inaugural balls in Washington DC after a long day of inaugural events
  * President Trump was sworn in at noon and delivered an elegy to Americans who had been 'forgotten'
  * Afterwards, the President and Vice President Mike Pence attended a luncheon in the Capitol Building
  * He paid tribute to former rival Hillary Clinton who attended the day's events with her husband Bill

... the 'energy page' from~> https://www.whitehouse.gov/america-first-energy

An America First Energy Plan

Energy is an essential part of American life and a staple of the world economy. The Trump Administration is committed to energy policies that lower costs for hardworking Americans and maximize the use of American resources, freeing us from dependence on foreign oil.

For too long, we’ve been held back by burdensome regulations on our energy industry. President Trump is committed to eliminating harmful and unnecessary policies such as the Climate Action Plan and the Waters of the U.S. rule. Lifting these restrictions will greatly help American workers, increasing wages by more than $30 billion over the next 7 years.

Sound energy policy begins with the recognition that we have vast untapped domestic energy reserves right here in America. The Trump Administration will embrace the shale oil and gas revolution to bring jobs and prosperity to millions of Americans. We must take advantage of the estimated $50 trillion in untapped shale, oil, and natural gas reserves, especially those on federal lands that the American people own. We will use the revenues from energy production to rebuild our roads, schools, bridges and public infrastructure. Less expensive energy will be a big boost to American agriculture, as well.

The Trump Administration is also committed to clean coal technology, and to reviving America’s coal industry, which has been hurting for too long.

In addition to being good for our economy, boosting domestic energy production is in America’s national security interest. President Trump is committed to achieving energy independence from the OPEC cartel and any nations hostile to our interests. At the same time, we will work with our Gulf allies to develop a positive energy relationship as part of our anti-terrorism strategy.

Lastly, our need for energy must go hand-in-hand with responsible stewardship of the environment. Protecting clean air and clean water, conserving our natural habitats, and preserving our natural reserves and resources will remain a high priority. President Trump will refocus the EPA on its essential mission of protecting our air and water.

A brighter future depends on energy policies that stimulate our economy, ensure our security, and protect our health. Under the Trump Administration’s energy policies, that future can become a reality.

Let it loose; it will defend itself."

“We stand at the birth of a new millennium, ready to unlock the mysteries of space,
to free the earth from the miseries of disease and to harness the energies, industries
and technologies of tomorrow.”

Trump Vows To ‘Unlock The Mysteries Of Space’ In Inauguration
ANDREW FOLLETT - 01/20/2017

EXCERPT:
Experts have long suspected that Trump’s space program will likely be focused on exploration with robotic probes and later, sending humans to Mars, using money diverted from global warming science programs (money originally diverted from NASA). Billionaire space entrepreneur Robert Bigelow thinks that Trump could potentially double NASA’s budget.

“NASA should be focused primarily on deep-space activities rather than Earth-centric work that is better handled by other agencies,” Robert S. Walker and Peter Navarro, both senior advisers to the Trump campaign, wrote in an opinion piece published in SpaceNews before the election.

“Human exploration of our entire solar system by the end of
this century should be NASA’s focus and goal.”

Quote
Trump could slash the more than $2 billion NASA spends on its Earth Science Mission Directorate, which covers global warming science, such as improved climate modeling and weather prediction. Other NASA functions, such as astrophysics and space technology, are currently only getting a mere $781.5 and $826.7 million, respectively.

... must watch:

Krauthammer:
‘They’re Quaking in Their Boots in Foreign Capitals’

PAM KEY. 20 Jan 2017

EXCERPTS:
"The way that Trump spoke about the outside world was the most aggressive, most sort of hyper nationalist and in some ways, most hostile of any inaugural address I think since the second World War. What Trump pointed out, what he drew was a picture of a zero-sum world where what we’ve done for the world, they have been stealing from us. He says for decades we have enriched foreign industry at the expense of our American industry, subsidized others’ military at the expense of the weakening of our army.”

Quote
“America First.” It is capitalized in the version that you get printed out, and capitalized in the name of the isolationist party from the 1930s that fought to keep us out of any entanglements abroad, i.e., out of the second World War, led by Charles Lindbergh and others that dismantled a week after Pearl Harbor. For many people around the world, the British in particular, that is quite a resonant phrase, and it says to them, to the free world, since Harry Truman and Eisenhower, we constructed a world where we carried a lot of you—economically, militarily, etc. That game is over, you are on your own. That is an amazing message for an inaugural address.  We heard it on the campaign, but that is policy now and it’s going to have a huge effect around the world.”

I was 14 in 1961 when John Kennedy was inaugurated and gave his famous speech of universal challenge... everything was black and white then especially TV and Newspapers... Trump's speech today was utterly Kennedy-Inaugural-esque in it's content and feel. The 'exploration of space' comment was the cherry on top.

In 1963 we took a 55 year side trip into darkest tyranny... we've maneuvered, fought, and educated, taking set backs and leaps ahead. Today we regained control. Vigilance and education are our best tools to keep the wheel in the hands of the People.

Farage to Be ‘Close but Unofficial’ Advisor to
President Trump, Says Mississippi Governor

NICK HALLETT.  21 Jan 2017

Former UKIP leader Nigel Farage is to be a “close but unofficial”
advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump, the Governor of Mississippi has said.

Speaking at a party thrown for Mr Farage on the top floor of the Hay Adams hotel, Phil Bryant said: “There is an opportunity for him to work directly with the president, we call it ‘close but unofficial’.

“I think you will see that type of relationship between Nigel Farage and the president where he will turn to Nigel for advice about Great Britain.”

The Telegraph quotes Mr Bryant as adding: “I don’t want to speak for the president but I know that the president has a great deal of trust in Nigel Farage, and I think he is going to turn to him as an adviser and there would be none better.”

The White House will on Monday announce that the US embassy in Israel is to move from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, according to an unconfirmed report by an Israeli news outlet.

The news channel said it had received no confirmation of the claim and there has been no public statement on the move since Friday's inauguration of the new US President.

Foxconn CEO says investment for
display plant in U.S. would exceed $7 billion

Reuters   -   J.R. Wu

TAIPEI (Reuters) - Foxconn, the world's largest contract electronics maker, is considering setting up a display-making plant in the United States in an investment that would exceed $7 billion, company chairman and chief executive Terry Gou said on Sunday.

The plans come after U.S. President Donald Trump pledged to put "America First" in his inauguration speech on Friday, prompting Gou to warn about the rise of protectionism and a trend for politics to underpin economic development.

Foxconn's proposal to build a display plant, which would be planned with its Sharp Corp <6753.T> unit, depend on many factors, such as investment conditions, that would have to be negotiated at the U.S. state and federal levels, Gou told reporters on the sidelines of a company event.

Gou said: "There is such a plan, but it is not a promise. It is a wish."

Foxconn is one of the biggest employers in China, where it operates factories that churn out most of Apple Inc's <AAPL.O> iPhones

Trump’s First Win:
Germany Hints at Compromises on Trade, Military

CHRISS W. STREET. 22 Jan 2017

As President Trump finished his first 24 hours in office by attending an interfaith prayer service at the Washington National Cathedral, German Chancellor Angela Merkel vowed to seek compromises with the new President on trade and military spending issues.

Speaking at a news conference in south-western Germany, Merkel sought to be a peacemaker after the German Vice Chancellor and leader of the left-leaning Social Democrats, Sigmar Gabriel, lashed out against Donald Trump’s election the day before as the result of “a bad radicalization.”

Gabriel scoffed at the new president’s inaugural speech as nationalist and protectionist. He boasted that although Trump may be a rough ride, “We should neither be submissive nor have fear.” He threatened that if President Trump wants a trade war, “Europe and Germany need a strategy geared toward Asia and China and we have new opportunities.”

Quote
But with $111 billion in exports to the U.S. and only $49 billion of U.S. imports, Chancellor Angela Merkel fully understands that the German economy would risk great damage in a trade war with the America.

Trump to sign orders to renegotiate NAFTA, pull out of TPP: NBC
Reuters  January 23, 2017

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump could sign an executive order as early as Monday intended to renegotiate the free trade agreement between the United States, Canada and Mexico, NBC News reported, citing an unidentified White House official.

In addition to wanting to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the new Republican president also intends to sign an executive order pulling out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), NBC reported.

Trump, who was sworn in as the 45th U.S. president on Friday,
targeted both trade pacts during his White House campaign.

Officials were not immediately available to confirm the report to Reuters. Trump's official schedule includes a 10:30 a.m. EST (1530 GMT) signing of executive orders in the Oval Office.

Trump to Sign Executive Orders on Nafta, TPP Trade Deals, Official Says
https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2017-01-23/trump-said-to-sign-executive-order-on-trans-pacific-pact-monday

Quote
President Donald Trump will sign executive orders on Monday to withdraw the U.S. from the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal and renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement, according to an official familiar with the plans.

The TPP, a 12-country deal that sought to liberalize trade between the U.S. and Pacific Rim nations including Japan, Mexico and Singapore, was a signature piece of former President Barack Obama’s “pivot” to Asia. Trump campaigned against the pact and other trade deals, such as Nafta, during his campaign for the White House.

In a video released in November, Trump promised to exit the TPP deal “on day one.” He called the trade pact “a potential disaster for our country.”

Trump is such a strong proponent of American constitutional values -
I'm sure he'll be repealing the NDAA as a TOP PRIORITY!!!

That is such a violation of our constitutional rights.

Tomorrow they will be grateful!

Donald Trump Executive Actions Kill TPP,
Announce Federal Hiring Freeze,
Restore Mexico City Policy

CHARLIE SPIERING. 23 Jan 2017

President Donald Trump signed three executive actions this morning, killing the Trans-Pacific partnership, instituting a federal hiring freeze, and restoring the Mexico City policy, which bans federal funds from being used to fund abortions.

“We’ve been talking about this for a long time … a great thing for the American worker,” Trump said after signing the order killing former President Obama’s signature trade effort.

Trump senior advisors stood and watched Trump sign the executive orders as senior advisor Reince Priebus announced each order as it was signed.

Trump specified that the hiring freeze for federal workers would not apply to the military.

Quote
Clinton, however, sowed the seeds of the Great Recession by helping to inflate the housing bubble, a key part of the financial debacle of 2007. But this wasn’t because he (not George W. Bush) signed two financial deregulation bills. Although Clinton legalized interstate banking in 1994 and commercial/investment banking combinations in 1999, that had nothing to do with the meltdown.

Then why is Clinton culpable? Because his secretary of housing and urban development, Andrew Cuomo, current governor of New York and a likely 2016 presidential aspirant, accelerated easy-housing policies and inflated the housing bubble, setting the stage for its collapse.

Its insane to give discounts and not verify a persons ability to afford a mortgage payment before giving them a mortgage.. The Dems set the people up for failure by their insane policies. Amazing failure of leadership. its no wonder Dems lost so badly in the past teo elections.

Mattis Celebrates First Day At Pentagon By
Blowing Up ISIS 31 Times

Russ Read - 01/22/2017

Newly minted Secretary of Defense James Mattis celebrated his first full day at the Pentagon by presiding over 31 strikes against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

Mattis entered the Pentagon Saturday with a smile for his first full day of work, and for good reason, considering the significant bombardment ISIS forces received.

A variety of fighters, bombers and remotely piloted aircraft engaged in the bombing run, which saw 25 strikes in Syria and six in Iraq. In Syria, two strikes destroyed ISIS units and artillery near the town of Bab. ISIS forces in Raqqa, the terrorist group’s de facto capital, took a heavy beating, as 22 strikes destroyed 12 tactical units, nine fighting positions, two underground improvised explosive bomb factories and an ISIS headquarters. The final strike targeted two ISIS oil wells in Deir ez Zour.

Quote
He said on his first day in office he would convene
his top generals and order them to provide a plan to eradicate
ISIS once and for all within 30 days.

SOUTH CHINA SEA | Mon Jan 23, 2017 | 6:09pm EST
Trump White House vows to stop
China taking South China Sea islands

David Brunnstrom and Matt Spetalnick

The new U.S. administration of President Donald Trump vowed on Monday that the United States would prevent China from taking over territory in international waters in the South China Sea, something Chinese state media has warned would require Washington to "wage war."

The comments at a briefing from White House spokesman Sean Spicer signaled a sharp departure from years of cautious U.S. handling of China's assertive pursuit of territory claims in Asia, just days after Trump took office on Friday.

"The U.S. is going to make sure that we protect our interests there," Spicer said when asked if Trump agreed with comments by his Secretary of State nominee, Rex Tillerson, on Jan. 11 that China should not be allowed access to islands it has built in the contested South China Sea.

" ... neither Spicer nor Tillerson had been specific as to what actions would be taken and this left open the possibility that economic measures - instead of military steps - could be used against China and firms that carry out island building."

... stealing the UNION support away from the DEMs?

Trump Wins The Unions:
Teamsters Praise TPP Withdrawal, Labor Chiefs
Describe "Incredible" Meeting With Trump

Tyler Durden - Jan 23, 2017

Shortly after Donald Trump made good on one of his core campaign promises on Monday morning by signing an executive order formally withdrawing the U.S. from the Trans-Pacific Partnership free-trade deal, Trump told labor union leaders that he would renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement "at the appropriate time."

The remarks came at the start of a meeting at the White House with leaders of construction, carpenters, plumbers and sheet metal unions, during which Trump pledged to stop trade deals that harmed American workers.

According to the White House, participants included North America's Building Trades Unions President Sean McGarvey, Laborers' International Union of North America President Terry O'Sullivan, SMART sheet metal workers' union President Joseph Sellers, United Brotherhood of Carpenters President Doug McCarron and Mark McManus, president of the United Association that represents plumbers, pipefitters, welders and others. The union meeting also included several local union officials and follows a gathering of 12 chief executives of large companies at the White House to discuss revitalizing the U.S. manufacturing economy.

Quote
The following is a statement from Teamsters General President James P. Hoffa on President Donald Trump signing an executive order to formally withdraw the United States from the Trans Pacific Partnership.

“Today, President Trump made good on his campaign promise to withdraw the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership. With this decision, the president has taken the first step toward fixing 30 years of bad trade policies that have cost working Americans millions of good-paying jobs.

... Axios points out, "Trump and top advisers like Steve Bannon see an opportunity to destroy traditional political alliances. Their theory worked in the election: They peeled white working class voters (and many union households) away from the Democrats. Now, they believe that delivering major items for this constituency — watch also for a confrontation with Big Pharma — could further wreck the Democrats' hold on organized labor."

House approves voluntary GMO labeling bill, H.R. 1599
House agrees with bill offered by Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kan., that would allow for a voluntary GMO labeling system

Published on: Jul 23, 2015

The bill, H.R. 1599, the Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act, was passed 275-150 without four amendments that were considered, and voted down, before taking a final vote on the full bill

...

The bill also calls on FDA to allow, but not require, GMO food to be labeled as GMO, and regulates the use of the term "natural." Further, the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service may establish a program to certify non-GMO food under the bill.

In an unusual move, a procedural amendment following the passage of the bill was offered by Rep. Jared Polis, D-Colo., to rename the bill the "Deny Americans the Right To Know" Act. It was voted down.

Related: GMO labeling logistics concern farmers, manufacturers

That moniker is favored by bill opponents and the consumer group Center for Food Safety, which says H.R. 1599 will deny voters the right to pass state bills to label GM food. Opponents also say the bill will withhold information from consumers by not requiring affirmative GMO labels.
https://carpevitanaturals.com/house-passes-voluntary-gmo-labeling-bill-what-does-this-mean-for-us/
Quote
The H.R.1599 bill (Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act) was passed by the House of Representatives by 275 votes to 150 on July 23, 2015, and each of the four amendments they were asked to consider were rejected.

Voluntary GMO Labeling BillThis is an industry-backed legislation that allows for voluntary GMO-labeling, and it’s not backed by consumers because it isn’t in their best interest. Essentially, this bill will prevent states from mandating GMO labeling because it pre-empts state laws. Instead, it is a federal voluntary non-GMO labeling system that is run by the USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service. While it is being positioned as a way for consumers to feel certain that their food is safe, it is deceiving and actually does the opposite.

In reality, this bill denies voters the right to pass state bills for GMO labeling. Anti-GMO activists have dubbed this bill the DARK Act, which stands for Denying Americans the Right to Know, because it allows information to be withheld from consumers since GMO labels are not required.

Yet, this traitor (and several before him) goes off into the sunset sucking off American taxpayers the rest of his life, and getting secret service protection and all the other comforts of ex-Presidents. There is something very wrong with that. When a President betrays the people while in office, THE TAXPAYERS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY HIS TAB THE REST OF HIS LIFE. THAT IS NOT RIGHT!

I BLAME THE REPUBLICANS FOR NOT IMPEACHING THE WORST PRESIDENT IN HISTORY. THEY DIDN'T DO THEIR JOB, THEY PLAYED POLITICS. HOPEFULLY, TRUMP CAN KNOCK SOME SENSE INTO THESE COWARDS AND REVEAL/PURGE THE TRAITORS WITHIN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, WHILE HE IS IN OFFICE.
