Itís Donald Trump vs. the Constitution: And all this time you thought his opponent was Hillary Clinton

http://www.salon.com/2016/11/07/its-donald-trump-vs-the-constitution-and-all-this-time-you-thought-his-opponent-was-hillary-clinton/

Trump will trample our rights, a tactic learned from Republican leaders and lead us into a constitutional crisis

Whether Donald Trump wins or loses on Tuesday, the Republican Party will be faced with an empowered and animating far-right white nationalist movement thatís driven either by a humiliating loss or empowered by a dramatic underdog victory. Either way, one of the big post-election questions will be how much of the Trump platform and populist marketeering the GOP will adopt. Furthermore, itís crucial to ask whether the party will proceed using Trumpís defiant ignorance of the rules and traditions of governing at the national level. For the last 17 months, weíve observed Trump and his loyalists almost literally giving the finger to the very notion of acting presidential as they accept and even encourage Trumpís indecent blurting, screeching and general obnoxiousness.

Likewise, itís not a stretch to forecast that Trumpís presidency would continue to operate outside the realm of decorum and decency, even by the standards of some of our worst presidents, much less many of our finer chief executives. Itís easy to envision Trump using the power of the White House to incarcerate journalists who tease him about his finger nubs, or especially anyone who attacks his sure-to-be spasmodic policy agenda. Itís easy to envision this because heís threatened to sidestep the free press clause of the First Amendment, leaning more toward the British system in which public figures can easily and successfully sue journalists for defamation and the like. Itís also easy to predict how Trump might behave toward anti-Trump congressional Republicans. Hell, can you imagine if the Democrats take back the Congress and proceed with an impeachment trial? Would Trump leave office if convicted? If your answer is ďyes,Ē you havenít been paying attention.

Limping to Election Day: Donald Trump is losing his Twitter account, and his mind

http://www.salon.com/2016/11/07/limping-to-election-day-donald-trump-is-losing-his-twitter-account-and-his-mind/

Donald Trump is losing more than this election. If recent news reports and his own self-evident behavior are any indication, he may also be losing his mind.

Trump has entered the final days of his campaign increasingly anxious and in need of both discipline and reassurance, according to a shocking New York Times report on Sunday. He barely sleeps and reportedly needs aides to keep him company late at night, particularly his son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner.

Because his poll numbers are looking worse and worse by the day, heís had to instead point to the size of his rallies and insist that aides vocally share his optimism. When heís in less generous moods, Trump has made ominous threats, such as vowing to create a super PAC after the election that will exact vengeance against politicians he deems to have been enemies.

Just insert "Hillary" for Trump and it reads correctly.

After a bitter election, a new America: Our first female president and the most diverse coalition in history

Pundits obsess over the angry white folks behind Trump; the real story is the new majority behind Hillary Clinton
Heather Digby Parton

Itís all over but the voting now. But if the polling is correct, Hillary Clinton should pull out a win. The main mystery at this point is where and by how much. But it was close enough in the important battleground states as of Monday night that anything can happen. So donít forget to vote!

Assuming the surge of Latino voters continues, the African-American vote meets its targets and the younger voters turn out, the Obama coalition should comfortably reassemble. But there are some changes to it, and they could be significant. For the first time since polling began, a majority of white college-educated voters, an overwhelming number of them women, say they are voting for the Democratic nominee. Thereís been a trend in this direction for some years, but in 2016 it seems to be surpassing expectations.

President Trump: A colossal failure for democracy, and our terrifying new reality

It took massive institutional failures to make President Donald Trump possible, and the ramifications are dreadful
  Simon Maloy

http://www.salon.com/2016/11/09/a-colossal-failure-of-democracy-president-trump-is-almost-certainly-our-terrifying-new-reality/

Itís impossible to overstate how colossal a f**k-up this is. At every level, across both parties, the media, pollsters ó all the democratic institutions that are supposed to prevent something like this from happening, or at least warn us about it. Donald Trump, a candidate who ran an openly racist campaign, who is as proud a misogynist as youíll find anywhere, who is manifestly ignorant of public policy, who is brusquely authoritarian, who has little respect or understanding of democratic norms, and who embodies every moral failing thatís supposed to disqualify a candidate from higher office, has apparently been elected the next president of the United States.

The markets are collapsing, the globe is reeling, and nobody can quite explain what the hell happened. But hereís what this failure will mean. The climate, which is warming precipitously, is now guaranteed to continue along that trajectory toward global catastrophe. The millions of people who gained health coverage over the last half decade are now at acute risk of being thrown off their insurance and left to the unfeeling mercies of health underwriters. Income inequality, already at dangerously high levels, will only grow worse as tax cuts for the rich and spending cuts for the poor are pushed through the Republican Congress. Unprecedented GOP obstructionism on Supreme Court nominees has been rewarded in the worst possible way. And the foreign policy of the United States will be run by a bona fide ignoramus.

The man elected to the most powerful office in the land has no idea what to do with it and no concept of its limitations. He attracts the worst people to him, sycophants and power-hungry strivers who will be placed in positions of authority and who will obey the bossí diktat above anything else. Every democratic norm he gleefully shredded along the way is gone for good. Every thumb in the eye of transparency will now be official policy.

https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=8367

ēCollege students at several schools have started petitions urging their universities and professors to cancel classes in the wake of Donald Trumpís electoral victory, citing ďemotional distress.Ē

ēPetitions have sprung up at Loyola University, Bryn Mawr University, and Johns Hopkins University, but so far none of the schools have acceded to the demands.

Where and who is responsible for traumatizing these people into believing that Trump is going to *do* something to them?  What the?

These are the very ones who need to be treated for mental/emotional illness and re-educated.  It's so completely sad.  Paul Watson's video  on who they are is genius.  Collectivism that ruins minds & lives is not ok!

I live in washington state, near seattle area. I am tempted to go down to the libtard protest in seattle, decked out in full trump attire, and start marching with them.  Laughing my ass off thinking about it.
