The Serbian ministries defence and interior have signed a contract with Airbus Helicopters to buy nine Airbus H145M helicopters, the Defence Ministry said in a statement Thursday.
With the acquisition, the Serbian Air Force and the police helicopter unit will be equipped with latest-generation helicopters to perform the most demanding missions (transport, search and rescue, combat, medical evacuation, surveillance and security, etc.), the statement said.
Beside officials of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Interior, the Serbian Armed Forces and Airbus Helicopters and Airbus Group representatives, the signing ceremony was attended by Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic, French Ambassador Christine Moro and German Ambassador Axel Dittmann, the statement also said.
